Maya Angelou once said, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Overall, my experience was okay. I went this morning to eat breakfast and work while I waited for my room at The Cincinnatian to be ready. Overall the food was pretty tasty and the employees were great but the manager/owner?? was passively RUDE! From his glares of disgust (I guess I occupied space for to long) to his passing by with eye rolls. He never once asked if I enjoyed the food, would I like more coffee, etc. His only stare indicated that I should leave. Unfortunately, you should never judge a book by it's cover because this encounter alone (no matter how everything else went) encourages me to never return and to send the same message to my colleagues and friends. In spite of all the positive vibes, his was a lasting impression because ultimately, you're the person in charge. You set the tone and you should never negate a person based on appearance or assumptions. Their influence can be gold or tarnish your business. I encourage others to visit because the employees made the experience worth it. But as for you Mr. Manager (or whatever your title is), take heed because you never know the company your are entertaining.

I love this place!! The atmosphere is cheerful. The mimosa choices are unique and quite good. They have lots of healthy choices on the menu too. Parking can be a challenge but they have valet. A definite breakfast or lunch choice if you are in town.

Location: Downtown Cincinnati. Street parking is available but metered. It doesn't look like parking is really a problem around here but it wasn't quite 10 a.m. when I went so it may be a different story later in the day. The place: Pretty big, lots of wood - reminds me of a country kitchen. They've got booths, regular tables and a bar. Great music - none of this generic radio nonsense. If I was in town for work, I could see myself working here - very chill vibe. The goods: So, after eating my face off at Jeff Ruby's the previous night, it was mind boggling that I woke up starving. I'm still trying to figure out how this is even possible! I went for the Eggs Your Way that included 3 eggs, toast (rye, I think), hash and bacon (or sausage or something called guetta - I may be spelling that wrong). First of all, my plate was huge. I mean, this could be two breakfasts for me. Th bacon was crispy as I requested and it was fantastic - for someone who rarely eats meat, if ever, I can't explain why I'd been craving bacon for like, 3 weeks. It's not because my body's short on fat. Anyway, the hash was great - nice and crispy on the outside but not at all dry on the inside. The eggs were good but they were borderline cold which led me to wonder if they make a batch of scrambled eggs in advance. The coffee was good, though not as strong as I'd like. The green juice is awesome! Service: Great - the fellow who took my order was really nice and friendly, and told me where his favourite murals were after I told him I did street art photography. Very cool! Price point: It's a little steep. The main was $12 - which would be more OK if the coffee was included in the price (2.50 for filtered coffee). The green juice is $8 which is also a tad steep. All of that said, I really liked the place and the food - and I should have checked the price of the green juice before ordering!

Amazing food. Went to Cincinnati for the weekend and ate here on Saturday for dinner and Sunday for brunch. I had the chicken club the first visit and chicken tinga for the second. Everything was delicious and all of the workers were so nice and helpful. Will definitely go here again, if I am anywhere near Cincinnati.

This place has great food. It is downtown so finding parking in the street can be interesting. There is a parking garage across from the building. So if you are willing to pay it's in a great location. The set up is cafeteria style. You order first at the counter then they give you a token. After you find your seat they will bring your food. The soda and water is self serve. I like to drink a lot so I did not mind. I thought the food was great though. The wife and our friends loved it too. I got the Carne Asda bowl. The meat was great but there was not much of it. The only thing I did not like is that the receipt had a line for tips. I don't want to feel obligated to tip of there is no server. Hope the review helps!

I recently visited Maplewood for the first time and was very impressed with the offerings. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful. I ordered the power bowl and super green juice. It was exactly what I was looking for. A filling meal, but not too heavy. The ordering process was less than enjoyable for me. I understand that it allows them to turn over tables much more quickly, but at this price point, it would be nice to have more interaction from the servers. We were told they would check in with us at the table, but I believe that only happened once after we had received our food. Still a very enjoyable experience, with fantastic food. I will definitely be returning.

Maplewood is pricey but it is worth it! The food is delicious. Be prepared, the line to order gets long but the food comes out quickly once you sit down. They have lots of healthy options but there is truly something for everyone. The decor is spectacular inside. Parking is convenient as there is on street or a garage right across the street. Mimosas made with their juices are a yummy and delicious twist on the traditional variation.

Very nice place! Friendly service, large comfortable space with nice music. I ate at the bar and took my time while penning journal entries for a report. The salmon entree was excellent, and so was the uninterrupted time to focus. Healthy, tasty menu!

This was an absolutely delicious place to grab some breakfast. I was able to try the lemon ricotta pancakes, which were absolutely amazing and their chicken tinga, again delicious. The atmosphere with the place is very nice and they had a nicely sized menu with plenty of variety. Overall, I would definitely come back!

This place is delightful! I loved eating my healthy, delicious food in the beautiful decor. The staff were helpful as I had never been. It was quiet at 5:00 pm on a Saturday night so that was nice. I took my 7 year old son and he loved the fries. It was a welcome break from eating fast food on our trip to Cinnicinati. Highly recommend!

The food has always been amazing, however, lunch today was not a good experience. First, the service was very very slow. Second, we both ordered the same salad but we didn’t get the same ingredients and they put the wrong dressing on. So needles to say, we had to send back and the wait was even longer.

I was surprised by this place. It is set up like fast food where you order at the counter and there's only a few choices of food items. I expected something mediocre but WOW all the vegetables were so fresh, the egg perfectly cooked on top and the entire dish was seasoned like a five star restaurant. I have no complaints here.

Maplewood was around the corner from our hotel, and recommended by some fellow guests who had enjoyed it. They had an insider tip: bypass the line by asking the host if seats are available at the bar. We planned to enjoy cocktails with our Sunday brunch, and, lo and behold, there were available seats at the bar, no waiting in the very long line.

Really like the atmosphere and music. Music was a touch loud for trying to have a conversation but it was unique. Food and drink presentation was impressive. We sat at the bar. Did not love our bartender on 7/30 - he was not very attentive or friendly. He got the job done but it certainly wasn’t service with a smile. The bus boy was far more friendly. Food was tasty and nice variety on the plate. Breakfast/brunch all day are options too. The rotisserie chicken was over cooked and quite tough.

When you go in, you go through a line - and order & pay & tip at the register. Then they give you a buzzer device to take to your table. They bring the food out to you. And from there the staff gives you table service. ... Very odd design. Cheapened the overall experience & ambiance. However I can see this place doing well with business lunch crowd and perhaps brunch as well. ... The food was well made. I had the house veggie burger. The patty was flavorful and dense - though small in diameter. ... The menu has very few entrees to choose from at dinner. Again - seems better for brunch and lunch. The brunch menu looked fantastic. But considering the ordering experience was awkward - I'm not going back.

Amazing food and friendly service. You order and the counter and you’ll be given a seat before your food comes up. If you’re thinking of visiting on a busy day, you’ll be waiting in line for about 20 minutes or so. There will be menus hanging on your left once you get closer to the counter. Once seated we waited less than 10 minutes for our food to come out. Would 100% recommend this place!

Food was good, service was marginal at best. I was served a Bloody Mary that has celery that I wouldn't serve to anyone. I put the celery on the bar and the server was put off. I felt like asking if she would have consumed it.

The Maplewood Kitchen & Bar was a great visit. Different set-up, you walk in and order your food cafeteria style and then you go sit down. We've done this before but this place does not have the look and feel of that type of restaurant. They do have a bar that you can have drinks and also order your food from a bartender. Service is very friendly. Food is good. Drinks are good. They have a nice selection of wines as well craft beers on tap.

Good food, long wait and deceptive pricing. Really cool vibe, tasty food Sat at the bar and waited 30 minutes after we ordered for a Cobb Salad and a Grilled Cheese sandwich. Ordered a Rhienheist Truth IPA, which was priced at $6.00 on the sign board by the bar. Was charged $7.00 on my tab. Mentioned it to the server, who checked with manager. Manager told them to take the sign down and did not honor the advertised price (nor did he offer an apology to me). When you spend $40.00 for a grilled cheese and salad, you would think they would try to do the right thing over $1.00. Hope the $1.00 was worth not getting 5 stars on a Google review and a Trip Advisor review.

Great experience. I loved the food, the atmosphere and the staff. I love the concept of this cafe. Order at the counter, get your drinks, sit down at a table and the food is brought to you. However, after you sit down staff is attentive but not overbearing and frequently checks if you need anything, including refills. So while it is a bit like a cafeteria in that you order at the counter it is like a traditional restaurant in that your food is brought to your table and wait staff provides refills and any additional needs.

The menu is full of delicious food, but I order the same thing every time. Their breakfast sandwich is the one to rule them all. This is to say it is so darn good that I don't consider any alternatives. Oh, and the corn flake cookie is delightful. Get one and share it with someone you love. Also, line is to the door by noon most days. Get there at 11:30 if you want to order, sit down, and have amazing food in your mouth in minutes.

Brunch was amazing. Start with super fresh healthy ingredients, cooked to order (the bacon was super thick and they did not skimp), and throw in some really well made alcoholic beverages and you have a recipe for success. That's why the line goes out the door in the morning on weekends. So get there early or just wait in line, cause it's worth it!

Went on Sunday March the 3rd at 10:30 AM and it was a mess. You could not seat at the table until you made an order. We did it and the server was rude and told us to move. And when you order was done, no place to seat or to wait at the bar... No sense at all. Everyone waiting, the waitresses not finding the customer and doing all the restaurant with plates... If you order beverage like soda, coffee, ... you have to go to get up and do the line and refill your self. If you want to order something else like another croissant you have to do again the entire line, about 20 minutes... insane!!! For the pancakes they give you a meat knife lol Will not return again and will not recommend at all. Overpriced for beverage that you have to serve yourself.

Ummm... I was just a little underwhelmed by the food,especially for the price. Maybe it's what I chose. Not sure. No one at the table was too impressed though. There were three of us and the bill was over 40 dollars. For breakfast. If the food would have blown us away, it would have been fine but it didn't. Also, the ordering/seating situation was a bit confusing and not explained by the greeter at the door. This would have been very helpful as it caused confusion with not only us but everyone around us as well. Environment was very nice but I wouldn't recomend. It's not for lack of trying on the staff's part though. Just not my cup of Joe.

Delicious food (lemon ricotta pancakes, avocado Benedict, eggs your way, and Pastel Omelette), boozy mimosas (especially the Sol Glo), and good service. Parking can be tricky but there's a garage right behind/next to the restaurant. The decor is also really cool and vibrant.

Upscale casual dining done well! You place your order at the counter then find a table and the food will be brought to you. The self serve water station includes your choice of regular or bubbly along with lemon wedges! The food was fresh, flavourful, and well presented. My steak (and eggs) was perfectly prepared and had a wonderful char. Good selection of fresh juices and desserts also available. The line ups to order could get long during peak periods.

My husband and I were trying to find a good place for breakfast downtown Cincinnati. We stopped in here and I'm glad we did! The food was great. I had the blueberry granola pancakes and a caffe latte. Also a side of bacon... because why not! The atmosphere is really neat too. I will definitely be back here next time we are in town.

Location - (5/5) : Immediately downtown Cincinnati where we were seated at the window with a wonderful to people watch. The interior styling was so incredible and felt almost like home. My sis described the bathroom as the nicest she had ever used lol.Atmosphere - (5/5) : This place is just hip and cool. Young people were getting their Sunday mimosa-filled brunch however while large families were seated together enjoying their meals in peace. Excellent atmosphere.

Worst place ever. Went there just now for my birthday dinner, sadly picked this place over any other in the town. Ordered an appetizer and a drink with a friend waited over 45 mins, finally went to the counter and asked for a refund to leave. Others came and left our food and drink never made it to us. The guy did not even had the audacity to apologize for the situation or offer any resolution. Place was not even busy. Highly disappointed and would make sure I convey my dissatisfaction within my social circle

My friend and I ordered off their brunch menu during dinner hours, which was very exciting to us. It's a really nice space with an upscale atmosphere, but still casual. The servers were all really nice. I got the breakfast sandwich, which I found pretty substantial considering the price. The fries and aioli were very good as well.

I can honestly say that the Maple Burger was one of the best burgers ive ever had...just absolutely delicious!! I had a latte the previous visit which was high quality and very pleasant. I also had the Steak breakfast...very different flavors on the steak than just getting a basic steak. It was very good along with the rest of the breakfast. They can COOK at this restaurant!! Great seating arrangment and order style. I like this place alot!!

There are very few places I visit and can smell the great aroma from the kitchen as soon as the door opens. The staff were patient, warm and welcoming everyone had smiles on their faces. The staff also greets everyone they come across. My meal was delicious, I had the bistro steak and eggs. The fresh fruit juice blends are amazing.

It was a very odd ordering experience. We pay first and they expect a Tip even before any service has been provided. We have to stand in line to order your food which can be a good 20 mins during lunch time and we get water/drinks ourselves including refills. I wonder what is the tip for? Other than that, the food is expensive and not all that great in taste or quantity. The only thing I liked there was ambiance.

Maplewood Kitchen and Bar, a delightful place that makes every meal feel like Sunday brunch. Walk into the clean and suspiciously uncrowded venue and take a seat at the bar. You'll be greeted by the warm and knowledge bartender who's friendly persona will have the narcist in you quickly convince they're totally into you. Start with the avocado toast, a wonderfully delicious way to remind you we're all basic on the inside. Next up is the salmon, which is also quite delectable. Well cooked and fished directly from the currently flooded streets of downtown Cincinnati. It's light pink color is a beautiful blend of Bengals orange and reds red. This healthy meal is delivered by a seemingly endless supply of waiters and waitresses who will pop up out of nowhere and startle you into your next course. It is a light choice that may not fill you up but definitely helps ease your troubled mind and bowels after eating an entire box of snowcaps after lunch just because.

I only came here for drinks before dinner one night but had a nice experience. It wasn't too crowded around 6:30pm, especially considering that Hamilton was in Cincinnati that weekend. I really love the decor and the vibe here and the bartenders were super nice. I got the Blackberry Lemonade as my drink, it's very photogenic (as you can see) and tasted great. Would have been good with a little more lemon flavor but awesome nonetheless. Hope to come back here one day for dinner or brunch!

Excellent food, super friendly service, very nice atmosphere, quite full at lunch time, so evidently a popular downtown eatery. It was recommended by our Uber driver and the hotel clerks. Moderately priced and worth every penny! And the coffee is great, too!

Not a huge fan of having to order food and drinks separately, but the prices were not bad at all (good happy hour) and its beautifully decorated! The food was filling and delicious, and the drinks were good! Chill music playing in the background, and not super busy when I went (came in with a large group and they were able to accommodate us immediately). Would definitely recommend a visit.

Good food. However, the food was not hot and the service is "way different"! We ordered somewhat a plethora of items; amongst such was the pancakes (which has nuts and such wasn't stated...to our knowledge, and I am ALLERGIC), bacon, and hash!

If there was a no star option I would of picked it. I’ve been to this restaurant several times. My daughter likes their food. Today we went around 2 pm. We ordered and our food came in about ten minutes. My food had a metal shaving over an inch long in it. I took it back to the counter with the metal shaving and was told by a worker they would remake it and bring it back out. My daughters salad was suppose to have chicken in it but it didn’t come with the chicken. A manager came out and apologized for the metal shaving and said he would give us our money back, which he did. He also said my food would be right out. Over twenty minutes past and I still hadn’t received my food. Mind you there are only handful of people in the restaurant and it’s not busy at all. Another worker finally asked if he could help us and I explained what happened and he went and got the manager again. This time the manager apologized again. I told him we couldn’t stay to eat because we had another place we had to get to. He asked if he could make it to go. I said fine. We waited another 10 minutes and a worker brought me the order in a to go bag. When I checked it, the order was wrong. I motioned for the manager and let him know the order was wrong and he could keep it. We were leaving. He gave us two coupons for two free meals and continued to apologize. I told him it wasn’t necessary because we were never coming back. You lost our business forever. I left hungry. I just don’t understand people’s lack of attention to customer service

The veggie burger and fries were delicious. My husband got the burger and really liked it too. We both had blackberry lemonade, which was very yummy. I wish I had room to try that ginormous lemon cookie. The atmospheremosphere was cheerful and inviting and the service was great!

So, the cafeteria style ordering kind of threw us off a little. Self serve coffe and soda stations too. The food is delivered to your table and it's was all very good. Well, the veggie soup was not that great, but the salad and eggs your way were great. Lots to see and the decor is neat; eclectic. We sat at the window and ppl watched. It's was a nice break down 75. A.little on the pricey end for lunch but I think there happy hour specials.

Maplewood is an easy 5-star choice! This place has my favorite brunch in Cincinnati. There is always a line out the door, but don’t worry, it somehow always moves quickly! To keep your thirst quenched while you wait, they have a gentleman selling mimosas; so delicious! When you get to the front of the line, you are then tempted by their many fresh desserts they have laying out....I’ve tried them all and they’re all exquisite. For my meal, I usually get the Bistro Steak & Eggs. I must say EVERY item on this plate is good. The steak is great, the eggs are perfectly cooked, the jam is sweet yet sour at the same time, and somehow even the hash browns taste better than any other hash browns I’ve ever had. I could not recommend this place enough!! Quick Note: The food here is a bit on the pricier side; be prepared to spend $15 on a single meal.

Ordering system adds alot of time to your dining experience. Don't be in a hurry. 10% of the population has Type 2 Diabetes, yet they have No sugar free syrup. They said "natural with no added sugar", but a Type 2 cant have that. Most pretentious place I"ve ever eaten. The only good thing was their coffee.

Restaurant is in the heart of downtown Cinci. Food was really fresh and healthy however slightly over priced. I much preferred the regular Bloody Mary to the tomitillo one. We ordered the goddess green salad which was really light and crisp. My fiancé ordered the omelette made with fresh mushrooms and asparagus- he really enjoyed. He did not like the side salad as he felt it needed more dressing. He also ordered the Maplewood toast. I thought the toast was delicious however he felt there was too much toppings which made the bread soggy. The wait staff was very polite and friendly. Bathrooms could have been larger. The rose tea was fantastic. we also has a side of lemon ricotta pancakes. Those were delicious :)

Wonderful experience!! I flew solo with my three young children (6,4 & 1) for breakfast on Friday. The staff were super friendly, attentive and helpful. Plus, the food was delicious! They have an inexpensive children's menu that delivered great value with many of my kids favorites! We will be back!

The verdict is still being worked upon. My entree consisting of Spicy chicken salad was a tad bit dry. French fries were typical with a dash of extra salt. Lemonade was disappointing. My wife had the spinach omelet that looked tasty, she wouldn't share, so it must have been a winner. So I'd score this visit a 50/50, jump ball!

An absolutely wonderful experience! We were visiting from Canada and can honestly said it was one of the best breakfasts we have ever had! A great clean atmosphere and such delicious high quality food. The blueberry granola pancakes were top notch, the eggs were cooked perfectly and the bacon was incredible! I ordered pick up yesterday , the lemon ricotta pancakes (kids size), scrambled eggs with white Vermont cheddar, along with hashbrowns. First I must say that you definitely get your moneys worth at Maplewood. The food comes in large portions. However sadly, the lemon ricotta pancakes did not live up to the hype they were dry and a little stale. The eggs and hashbrowns were delicious, especially the hashbrowns. I also got a brown sugar cookie that was awesome! But I really really really wanted to love the lemon ricotta pancakes because everyone raves about it online. Sadly I was disappointed. The customer service was amazing despite me coming in at the last minute! I would go back however I’d have to explore another option because those pancakes were not it!

I was able to enjoy a late afternoon meal that was out of the kitchen so fast I was only able to pour my coffee in it's station and return to my seat and I hear" you're pancakes" and etc. If you are staying at the hotel on the far side of this block after meetings, it's a safe distance to walk after a beverage. There is a nicely stock bar to the left of me. I was ravenous so the expeditious service was appreciated. Oh and if you LOVE bacon. You don't want to miss theirs!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Had a really enjoyable experience at Maplewood Kitchen. I had the egg plate which was amazing. The chives used on the eggs was really a great addition. Bacon was also very good. Ordering is a bit different. Done by ordering first at the register off the menu obtained when coming into the restaurant. The food is then brought to the table. If I could change anything it would be that someone is walking around with a coffee pot. As it is, you're going to the coffee station to refill. Overall though, my party all greatly enjoyed their meal and we had a wonderful experience.

Went there on a Sunday morning, there was a long wait and you had to stay in line and order up front. There was only one active cashier for a long time. The look of the place made it seem like it was upscale with good quality food but for the price you pay, the food was not really good and basically there was no service. They just brought you the food but coffee and water was self service. The sides and the drinks were expensive. I don’t recommend this place and will not go back.

Beautiful restaurant. A bit loud. There's a "cue" when you walk in that takes about 15-20 minutes to wait in to order your meal, if the restaurant is busy. Our food came out cold. The eggs were over cooked but cold and our drinks didn't come at all. We had to go and ask for it as we were finishing our breakfast. The taste of the food was strictly ok. The bacon waa tough and seemed precooked and slightly reheated, (not hot). The toast was tough on the edges. Over all meh.

I live in Lexington, but my wife and I make it a point to stop here any time we are in Cincinnati. Service can sometimes be slow when they are busy, but that is expected. Staff does a great job of making sure everyone is happy. Restrooms are also very nice.

I’ve enjoyed a meal at this restaurant on two occasions now and both times my experience has been good. The food is healthy and tasty. Even though very busy, the atmosphere is conducive to conversations. If it’s busy when you go, make sure you wait to be seated. They don’t like it when you save seats. It is handicapped accessible.

I liked my breakfast at this place, we have ordered Avocado Benedict and something else with Chicken. The Avocado Benedict was very small, I wish I knew at the beginning so that I could order something else on the side too. It wasn't bad but not that special either. The service was pretty good and very quick.
