You know that we don't usually bother to write scores when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Coffee Shop is included in the category of Restaurant.
I have always loved this place. Bookstore on one side, Kentucky local business in the other. Great coffees, great baristas, snacks, wine choices. Been a few times around different times of year. Winter is always my favorite bc I can never decide on coffee, tea, cocoa, chocolate or soup. The smell of the book store is always a favorite of mine as well.
Delicious food. Friendly service. Indoor/outdoor seating. Excellent coffee. Great live bands. Open music jam on Thursday night.
Nice quite coffee shop with excellent service
Half price bottles of wine and music on the sidewalk on Wednesdays!
Your classic local, comfortable coffee shop with gifts and books next door. I ENJOY it almost daily.
Fantastic paninis
Took 30 minutes and a reminder to get my order of a regular latte and an egg and cheese burrito (it was not crowded). My total was $8.30. My breakfast burrito was more along the lines of a burnt panini/quesadilla. I am pretty sure she just made the wrong thing. At least the latte was decent. After waiting for my order, I didn't have the time to try to talk to anyone, I had to get to a meeting . At least the server felt bad and gave me a card for a free drink. I won't use it, because I won't go back.
I liked the idea of it.. I usually really like those kinds of cafes..staff wasn't too friendly..I went 2 times..got a latte the first time ..was wayyy to sugary..the 2nd time my friend and I got sandwiches , was plain with no flavor. :( The noodle salad was really dry.
Surprised by the unique tasty food
Excellent coffee and baked goods; all varieties of muffins spot on
Great ppl
Good coffees, alcohol offerings, and interesting little pastries and mini quiches. Books to read and a comfortable layout compliment the drink and food.
The best in the area
Quaint, lovely sweet staff, and great coffee.
Nice comfortable atmosphere nice place to come in sit down read a book while you drink your coffee food looks fantastic mini quiches were great
The espresso drinks here are excellent. The Americano is my standard. They also serve adult beverages, and that makes it a good location for a weekend brunch and mimosa. The staff are also very high quality and take pride in their work. If you're downtown, plan to have a meal or take a break here.
Very chic. We walked in and sat down at a small table to do some photos editing work and we're not pressured to order. I ended up getting hungry so I decided to check the menu. Price hit me first, a plate of hummus for about $7 I think seemed like alot but it was worth it. They have wonderful coffee too. I ordered my go-to white mocha and it was the best one I've had at a non Starbucks coffee shop. It was not overly sweet and had a nice bitter coffee taste to it. They had everything you'd expect, like Americano, and more. You can even buy wine. I found that amazing. The atmosphere was pleasant and I would love to visit again when I am in the area. It feels like home.
Very nice place.
Great place to have a great cup of coffee, read a book, browse the web, or chat with other locals and meet out of town visitors. Very friendly place.
Nice atmosphere. Nice people. At little on the pricey side but a downtown gem. If only they would get some avocado #justsaying
This place was so cool! Downtown Frankfort is big and very nice. This cafe offers many unique sandwich, wrap, and breakfast options along with their full cafe, and even a Tiki bar?! There are lots of books and a section where it looks like love music happens. Both sides are open to the shops nextdoor. Everything was very tasty. Staff was very nice and attentive.
Great place for any age. There is something for anyone. It is actually three store connected by a side door. Enjoy this feature during the cold Kentucky winter.
Awesome in every way. A great representation of Downtown Frankfort.
Quiet, friendly place
Prices were very reasonable. Coffee for under $2 for basics. $3.71 for a mocha. Staff was great. Got food and drinks in just a few minutes. The seating is great. FREE Wi-Fi (info on front register) I will visit again.
Unique, homemade, friendly
Great atmosphere!! Was able to get some school work finished while enjoying a spicy chai tea, Mexican coffee, a baby quiche and a bagel with everything... Cool place!!
This place is a local treasure. The service is good, and the coffee is outstanding. I strongly recommend Kentucky Coffee Tree to anyone!
The ladies working were super friendly and helpful. Cool atmosphere. They only had a panini press and microwave to cook everything on the menu. I was disappointed with my turkey blt. The menu stated it had pesto but came with mayo, packaged turkey, and thick bread. All the coffees had bad flavor. The eggs were a bit odd microwaved. Cool place, nice people, bad product. Not sure why it has so many great reviews. We were disappointed.
A cozy, chill out sort of place. Great food and a very nice staff.
We needed a good cup of coffee! We were not disappointed! Friendly service delicious mocha!
Kinda expensive and not really that good. Interior is going for the "cool" retro look but it's just shabby furniture. Young girl behind the counter was very helpful, polite and friendly.
Good coffee, loved the shop. It was a tad expensive. But over all a nice place to have a fancy coffee every once in a while.
Brought my eleven yr old granddaughter here for a new experience coffee n scones she said its like paris lol its very nice to us
Cozy little coffee shop located downtown Frankfort! Great place to study. Has wifi, pastry's, coffee, and booze. New to the town, looking forward to studying here when it starts snowing
Very cozy place, felt very welcomed and comfortable. Good food and drinks. Staff was very helpful.
Loved the energy of employees, several drink options, and customization of drinks
Quaint and cozy coffee house. Laid back atmosphere and friendly staff. Delicious vanilla latte!
Music, love this place!
Nice atmosphere, pricey
Great small coffee shop that has a lot more to offer than meets the eye, stop on and get your self some!
I really love this place. It is a bit pricey but it's very cozy and a nice meeting place to just relax and talk to friends. It's right downtown in frankfort so parking can be a bit of a challenge but totally worth it. Their menu is unique and their coffee is always fresh and hot.
Stopped by one night for a few minutes while we waited for friends to get finished touring the Old Capitol right across the street. It was nice to see this small coffee shop open while many other businesses had closed long before we even got into downtown Frankfort. If coffee is not your thing, they also had cans of West 6th (a local Lexington brewery) IPA and Amber Ale available for those of legal drinking age.
Great coffee, great atmosphere!!
The food and coffee are really great. The black bean salsa wrap is one of Frankfort's best kept secrets. Environment is chill and inviting. Takes a while for food orders, but it's worth it.
Nice quiet coffee and backed goods joint perfect stop of beginning of a busy day
I am pretty basic when it comes to my coffee but you don't come to a place like this for the coffee so much as the atmosphere, which it has a lot of. Open doors with the neighbors leads for a good environment. The view on the street is good as well. Don't get me wrong, the food and drinks are good but this is more of a community gathering hub as it is a business.
Fantastic service, food, atmosphere. I wish I lived closer so I could come every day! It is a very unique place- and come with time to kill so you can check out the local stores nearby.
Nice place
LOVE this place! It's one of the locals favorite places to meet. They not only serve the usual coffee, but beer and wine as well. Open jam sessions and live music by local and regional artists often fill the air both inside and outside of this venue.
Almost waited for 30 minutes at cracker barrel but decided to try this place instead. What a great place to eat and drink coffee and listen to live folk music. The bagel sandwich, chicken salad sandwich and cranberry muffin were excellent. You will not be disappointed!
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. But generally you do have to waita bit for your orders.
Mom and I had a delightfully spicy shrimp pizza. Yum!
Nice place to drink coffee and read
Try the southwest salad, but in a wrap!! Delicious!
Excellent service! Best Chai Latte in town!!
Good coffee and pastry and spot to spend a few minutes in the morning
Great local place work delicious drinks and pastries! Nice atmosphere.
I stopped in to get a coffee on my way to an interview. The service was great and the coffee was the best I've had outside of Philadelphia (white mocha with almond milk). I enjoyed it so much I stopped for lunch on my way back to my car! Highly recommend
Great for hanging out with friends and there's a variety of food and drinks
Such a lovely little place! The food was so much better than I expected from a casual little cafe! Definitely recommended.
Ahh sooo good. Live music once a week.
I love the atmosphere and great coffee. This is always a stop for me when I'm in Frankfort!
Sit down, enjoy the coffee and food, talk to friends, make new ones and feel the peace.
I go here often. The people are nice and the food&drink is amazing. 10/10!! :D
Great place in downtown Frankfort on a street full a little businesses. Nice local coffee shop atmosphere. Tables and comfy chairs are available for seating. This coffee shop offers sandwiches, soups and beer and cocktails on top of the coffee products. Super friendly and helpful. No matter what you are looking for, you should not hesitate to check this place out.
The coffee and pastries I had were really good, the staff was really friendly. It's a little small with limited seating. But it's still very cool and I would definitely go here again.
Fantastic dirty chai latte and certainly the best anywhere between Lexington, Louisville, or southern Indiana! Only gave it 4 stars because there was a terrible wait and surely the staff could've been a bit more friendly. I'll still go again and hopefully can change this to 5 stars.
The atmosphere was just splendid!
Great building and atmosphere. Place very busy and maybe that’s the problem. Food counter, floor and even the tip jar filthy. Afternoon after noon meal sick from chicken salad. Makes me wonder about counties’ health dept. In Fayette County (Lexington) health rating would and must be posted and if conditions poor business cited with info printed in local newspaper.
Nice place. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Sat outside and enjoyed the meal and setting. Food was well done.
The best hot chocolate is served here.
The picture is satire
Great place with wonderful food and strong coffee just as we like it. We used it as a base during our visit to Frankfort. The staff was very kind and helpful with our twin 9 month olds. They even made me more salad dressing when they had run out of the soy ginger dressing. They could bottle it and sell it easily. So good and worth the wait. Obviously fresh ingredients and made on the premises. You have to try the Old Angry Liberal hot sauce. We bought a bottle to bring home and great with the bean and corn panini.
Greatest service I've seen in a while
Thus place is 1st on my list and my kids list before McDonald's, Wendy's or any other fast food restuarant. My 3 year old crys for CoffeeTree
Had a gender reveal party in their party room. Very friendly customer service and a great price for room rental! Lots of unique products in the store.
Quaint and friendly.
Cool space. Kentucky gift shop next door has some cool stuff.
Not sure why this place has such good reviews. Ordered the iced chai latte dirty and it was pretty repulsive. For the first time in my life I threw a coffee shop drink away. Also ordered the egg babies and they were pretty awful. She nuked them and they had a terrible texture. Very disappointed because I am in Frankfort for work often and was hoping this would be my next go to. Atmosphere was cool so it gets one star for that. Visited 3/3/18
Great drinks, food, service, and atmosphere!!!
My friend calls it the Meetingplace of Frankfort-- it's got a great & convenient location downtown, with a cozy environment and a sick menu. I haven't had a ton of their food, but I really like their fruit smoothies. Whether you're just picking something up or are looking to meet with someone, the Coffeetree is a great spot! I also believe they have a jam session one night a week and other live music? Not sure of the schedule since I only visit occasionally, but definitely more reason to scope it out yourself!
Really love this place. They have really good hot chocolate. We usually come and get out a board game and have some coffee while we play. Great atmosphere. Have a bluegrass jams once a week for part of the year.
I would give this place 3 stars if it were a cafe based on the setting and the food. But when you have the word coffee in your name and your cappuccino tastes like coffee flavored milk you get one star. Quite possibly the nastiest cappuccino I have ever tasted. Absentee ownership at its finest.
Good fresh coffee and breakfast food. Cozy environment with variety of seating options. Sofa, chairs, small bar area.
My personal hang out.
Coffee is GREAT! Service is very gentle and nice. It may take a minute to get your stuff and you can tell they are not Starbucks (where they are trained to sling coffee like it's nobodies business), but it feels like every cup is made gently and with love. Very cool place to come and enjoy a peaceful quiet evening.
Great coffee, great place!
Bobbie was amazing. Give her a raise.
This place is part of the identity of downtown Frankfort! The food is usually good and excellent coffees in the menu. Beer and wine are cheaper than other places and the cocktails usually have strong pours! But the great thing about this place is the atmosphere. Books, games, music ... it feels like you're in someone's living room. To be fair, my only criticism is with some of the employees. I hate to complain in general about them because most of them are absolutely wonderful but my wife and I have both noticed there are two people that always seem to be in a bad mood or observe less than sanitary practices. Learn to avoid those people like we do and you'll really love this place.
Honestly, I love the atmosphere here. Unfortunately, their chicken salad made me sick.
The atmosphere is always warm and cozy and the staff are some of the nicest and most patient people. They're not too pricey and the muffins, coffees, and tea are all very delicious.
The Baristas, servers, bartenders are all so nice :-).
turns into a different place on friday nights. love it :) <3
There is a nice variety of drinks, especially coffee, and food that is served there. The food has always been great and well as the service. The atmosphere is quiet, relaxing, and homey with a choice of table seating or grouped lounge chairs.
Paper wrapper from cheese slices left inside my breakfast burrito. No thank you.
Lovely little cafe with a wonderful group that plays live music Thursday nights. A great atmosphere to hang around and enjoy some coffee
Great place to meet with friends. Great staff.
Always nice and cozy. Good coffee and good atmosphere! Had a couple nasty teas ,but this is a staple place to relax with a friend.:)
I was a regular. Upon moving the tip jar to get my rewards card I was falsely accused of steeling from from the jar. Very disappointed in the management. Should have checked footage on the security cam. BFORE MAKING ACCUSATIONS.
Luv their coffee but I don't like the high prices on every drink and sweet dessert are way to high in prices. It's really for people with lots of money.
Poetry reading was interesting but not my style. Of the 3 coffees we bought this evening, we disliked then all. One flavor was maple and spice coffee -- never again. It would have been better to pour over pancakes instead if drinking as coffee.
Cozy coffee shop in downtown. Good drinks and snacks. Connects to stores on both sides so easy to browse on a cold or damp day.
Dogs welcome out front. A good IPA also.
Nice small coffee shop with a comfortable atmosphere. Tons of books to choose from in bookshelves. Very friendly and helpful on helping us choose from variety of coffee flavors. Delicious cranberry muffins. Cute woman at counter.
Great little coffee shop. Yummy drinks and food!
Coffee, books, fast free internet, occasional informal entertainment, and locally owned is a winning combination! My favorite local spot.
Excellent atmosphere. Quiet enough for solitude (usually) but also spaced for good conversations. Great wait staff helps this mood as well. Oh, and good food and great coffee!
Very disappointing for a local coffee shop. They were out of many items, but still charged people for them and then told them afterwards. A simple appetizer and one coffee drink took 45 minutes to make, and even then they made it wrong and had to remake the coffee. Food was not good at all, coffee was ok once made correctly. Definitely would not return if we were to visit Frankfort again.
Cozy and inviting environment. Love that it is adjoined with the book store and the Kentucky Crafts store on either side. Friendly staff, and good coffee. A local treasure.
Great place to relax, have a drink and make new friends. I always leave with the feeling of content.
Excellent mix of a bookstore and coffee shop. The atmosphere is perfect for conversation or enjoying a good read.
Awesome. Coffee Tree is in within walking Distance of the YMCA so I will sometimes go there before work and it's awesome.
One of my favorite places to hang out in Downtown Frankfort. Great coffee and great пива. Weather one one sitting out on the street with friend or huddled with a hot coffee and book, this is the place to be in Frankfort. Today I enjoyed great live music while I had a wonderful dinner and cold drink. Hats off.
Funky little place with a great looking menu. Barista did a fabulous job making sure I got the exact drink I wanted. Met someone there for a chat and never felt rushed.
Very friendly staff and great coffee.
Perfect little coffee shop
Great food and atmosphere. The menu is great for lunch or light supper. Their coffee is excellent and the baked goods are so tasty and fresh.
Good local coffee shop. Prices are a little high for the sizes, but unfortunately with so many big companies the local businesses have to have a higher price. The staff have always been friendly when I have visited, and at the holidays you can get boozy hot cocoa or eggnog, and who doesn't love that! I recommend you check them out if in town. Chill with a cup of coffee and a book that you just bought from Poor Richard's Bookstore next door
Best coffee and coffeeshop in Frankfort
The barista at the counter didn't drink coffee, and couldn't answer my questions. The decaf that was being served was made around noon, we were there around 4:00. The food case by the register was disgustingly dirty. The seating area looked quaint.
Really cool place! We'll visit again next time we're in town.
Terrible place the sandwich That was serviced had the hardest bread reminded me more of a cracker not and type of bread I’ve ever had and the menu online is nowhere near what they have available an the blender was down so no frozen drinks. I ask for a water the man at the counter turned around and started filling the cup up with water that he was earlier doing dishes with... do not recommend for anyone...
I love this place. The customer service is amazing and so is all of the yummy drinks.
Coffee is average but the facility is dingy and really needs a thorough cleaning. Nicely connected to the adjacent book store.
Good atmosphere. Ok coffee. Good beer
They totally go above and beyond. Tonight, as example. The establishment, and all the people involved... just simply marvelous!
Great place for small meetings and to gather and socialize. Popular gathering place for Frankfort residents. Cozy and inviting.
Lovely place. Very cozy just like the bookstore next door.
I travel the country trying local coffee shops. This is easily one of my favorites. Whenever I'm in town I always make sure I stop by. The coffee is absolutely delicious
Comfortable, laid back shop, great coffee & artifacts in the attached local shops.
Had a lovely time great food great service
I always receive friendly service at the Coffeetree. The coffee is reasonably priced and the food is fresh and tasty, whether breakfast pastries, sandwiches or other items from a wide variety of offerings on the menu.
Nice place with decent food and coffee. Service can be odd at times, but they rebound. Not too hipsterish, and I like traveling between Poor Richards and Completely Kentucky.
Great coffee. Helpful staff. Great place to sip coffee and view surroundings.
I love this place. I have favorite bookstores, but this one is my favorite, favorite bookstore. I like browsing through the attic, where the old books are, in order to find some gems. I like that there are new books downstairs, so I can have the both of book worlds. Poor Richard’s is connected to Kentucky Coffeetree Cafe by the inside so it is fun going back and forth through this magical door. At the café I love their chocolate mousse. It is small, but it has all the chocolate bang for the buck. I am going to make sure and call ahead of time to make sure I have one when I get there the next time. Books and chocolate, how could you go wrong?
Great service and awesome prices. Love their bottomless coffee option and the alcohol prices aren't bad either! Very laid back, love sitting outside with views of the trees and downtown. I never feel rushed either. Food options are much better than standard coffeeshop fare.
Seth makes the BEST coffee EVER. Hands down. BH<3JB
Great coffee. A variety of seating with plenty of room. And right next to a bookstore!
This is a cool shop in downtown Frankfort.... Buy a book next door and loose yourself.
Loved this little place for coffee and breakfast. Great atmosphere, cozy with books, soft furniture, and a tiki bar! Really need to go back for cocktails and live music!
Pretty disappointing. Either they were short staffed, had inexperienced employees, or this is par for the course for them. It was slow going and the employees seemed disorganized. The place was dark and dank and there were itty bitty flying insects. In addition to coffee we ordered an egglet (not sure of the actual name but it was like a mini quiche). Mini is a bit of an understatement, it was really small. The coffee did little more than to suffice my need for coffee.
Always a friendly and fun atmosphere. Excellent selection of coffees and food. Bourbon Egg Nog is really good. The live music is always good. Lots of books to read if you want and a selection of stringed instruments on the wall if your so inclined to play one. WiFi can be spotty but it's still decent 90% of the time.
Food was disappointing and the coffee the girl fixed was really sad!
Good
Love this place. Eclectic and fun. Light fare, tasty pastries, and great coffee. We stop here each time we come to Frankfort from "back east". Great service and fun music too.
Great coffee and staff the best.
Great atmosphere, specialty coffees you're sure to like. Enjoy sidewalk cafe style seating.
Good food and service, very nice atmosphere.
Lovely place for a warm calming 'Frankfort Fog' drink, spicey bowl of bean soup and comforting (chocolate bomb!) dessert on this cold Autumn afternoon. Seeing friends & neighbors, musical instruments being picked up and played, kids, computers and a chatty knitting circle all made the Kentucky Coffee Tree a welcoming toasty treat today!
Cute little coffee shop. Good selection/variety of food and drinks.
Great coffee shop: friendly service and cozy decor
Always enjoy visiting here. They have great food and drinks. A favorite stop when In town.
Best around. Have not found a better espresso. Starschmucks is horrid anyway, but Coffeetree is amazing. Employees are top notch. Never had an order wrong. Their mocha is superior. I've also asked for special requests, like sprinkle of cocoa powder in bottom of espresso during very busy times, and after I'd ordered and paid. Was not a problem. Excellent sandwiches and desserts are insanely nummy.
Good decor, good atmosphere,. GOOD food,. GOOD people
Casual seating, relaxed atmosphere. Helpful staff. Great tasty healthful food; assortment of drinks (coffees, teas, mixes). Chess/checkers, books, musical variety. Evening hours. Friendly staff.
Great place to hang out and have a bite to eat. Great coffee and atmosphere
