What a wonderful, magical place to eat lunch!! Nowhere in Louisville, or anywhere else, will you find comfort food like this. I've been eating here for 20 years and love it every time. You need to bring out of town friends for a unique experience. It's not super fancy, the food is fairly simple, but the ingredients are high quality, homemade, and just yummy. Did I mention the homemade cakes and pies?? Where do you ever find a place that gives you a sample bite of one of their cakes while you wait for a table? Nowhere but here. The recipes have been handed down from the owner's grandmother. I took my daughter there for lunch yesterday, we've been going since she was a baby. You got to go!

Absolutely loved this place. We stopped in after seeing a FB post pic of the day's fresh baked desserts. We were offered a bite of cake as soon as we walked in the door. This is a true family run establishment & before we left we met them all. The special was the best plate of meatloaf, potatoes, green beans, plus beverage and roll--8$ INCREDIBLE!! They have a whole list of sandwiches and a different special daily. The cakes tho, I was so impressed. Baked fresh in house daily from generational recipes...perfection. Good people making great food!!

Their menu is reliable and proven. It's a casual lunch favorite, and it's almost like visiting family. It can be noisy at times because of the old wooden floors but that is also part of the charm of it all. Tomato dill soup is a favorite as is the chicken salad sandwich.

Quaint cafe on historic Main Street, Middletown, KY. The food is excellent, especially the decadent homemade desserts. The business has limited hours, being open from only 11 AM - 3 PM. The cafe is located in an old home, which could be quite charming but it is in dire need of maintenance, both inside and outside. The dining area is small and could use a deep cleaning.

We went there on a busy Sunday night, with a party of 10 and they got us right in! We were blessed to get Margaret(meg or mag) as our waitress! I don't think I ever had a Better waitress! Cute as a button, bubbly, attentive and down right great waitress! She treated the kids as queens and the adults just as great! Then the food came out! The portions were huge and the food was absolutely delicious!! We Will go there again and we will ask for Margaret to be our waitress! Did I mention the food and service were great!

This place is a secret little gem hidden among all the other eateries, in the Middletown area. We loved everything from the friendly and inviting staff, to the excellent food. I had the Hot Brown, which was cheesey, but still had plenty of turkey and bacon to fill you up. My girlfriend had the BLT which she loved. Then to end the meal we had a Strawberry shortcake which we where lucky to get, cause was out of season, but was super moist, the strawberries where hand picked and fresh. We both enjoyed this visit and will definitely be back very soon.

Food was good. The place kinda run down. The food reminded me of Flag Fork Herb Farm (no longer in business - Lexington) I just wish the ambiance was the same. They definitely need something to soften the volume, maybe hang a tapestry or quilt up. Waitress and staff very pleasant.

I have only been to the Cottage Cafe on Wednesday for meatloaf. Well worth it. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. While parking can be a bit of a challenge, I have always managed to squeeze my car into the lot in the back. I recommend this restaurant.
