Went Labor Day weekend, so it was busy. Had a 30 minute wait that turned into 40 minutes. Once we were seated though, the server was fast, our drinks and food came out in a good amount of time and it was awesome. Would definitely recommend.

This is one of my favorite breakfast restaurants in town. Let's begin with the negative. There is usually no parking on the Saturdays when we go. The wait can be from 15-45 minutes. The place is small and tight. The tables are small and tight. If you order more than one dish and a drink good luck fitting it all on the table. The service is adequate but needs improvement. A bunch of 20 year olds that you can tell are just doing it as a side job... No warm service and they look like they would rather be somewhere else. Plus, when you try to alter a dish they tell you they cannot per chef instructions... Wait, I can't get my dish the way I want it... Do you want me to leave? At this point you are probably thinking, why did this guy say this is one of his favorite breakfast restaurants in Kansas City? On to the good. The food is amazing. Every dish I have had has thought, fresh ingredients, and have been simply amazing. Seriously, your mouth will live you for any dish you order here. Sure you can't change it.. but you probably won't want to after getting that first bite. Also, they have a nice selection of breakfast and brunch cocktails. 4 stars easy... Could be 5 with work on some more warm service and attentive staff.

Great little breakfast/brunch place. Cozy and rustic feel. I had the scallop and grits. It was fantastic! The blend of flavors was complimentary and the scallops we're cooked perfectly. The portion was so big I should have stopped but didn't want to leave any so I stuffed myself instead. Another bonus was the tea selection. I am not a coffee drinker so any time I can get tea I'm excited, but when they came out with a whole teapot I was overjoyed. I will go back.

Meh. I really don't understand what my friends see in this place and why people would wait so long for a table on the weekends. The wait staff are usually great but I am consistently underwhelmed by the food. I also think the charges for substitutions is a bit petty. I asked for a sauce on the side and was charged for a "substitution."

Hipster place for sure!! The mimosas were the cheapest I could find on a weekday. They was really good and will run you $5each for the regular kind. Not very many menu is very interesting.. only normal thing I could find is French toast and it was delicious. If you have Adventurous taste buds this is the place for you. Server was nice and the food came out fast.

I went straight from the airport on a recommendation. I was not disappointed! I have no idea what they do to eggs but I never knew eggs could taste like that. Our server forgot the mimosas but they were worth the wait. All in all a pretty good experience. I'd try it again next time I'm in town!

My Salmon eggs Benedict was amazing. Service was fast. I think ingot my food within 5 minutes after ordering. The coffee was perfect. If I didn't 15 miles away, I would be there every week to eat. I would for sure recommend this place and will be eating here again in the near future.

It was good food, more expensive than an IHOP, but not unreasonable. There were a lot of really unique flavors and dishes, I had the chicken in a biscuit and it was super delicious. The interior was very hip and cool but cramped, reminded me of restaurants in New York. Parking was also a pain so learn to parallel park or plan to walk.

This place is always incredibly busy, with the wait for brunch averaging 20-30 minutes. After being seated, the food comes out quickly. The service staff is very kind and helpful when it comes to questions or recommendations. You can get a French press of coffee for your table. They also have featured drink specials. I’ve been here the past two times I have visited KC, I will definitely be back.

We LOVED this place! Went for brunch before a chiefs game and everything was great. Loved the food, our server was great, and probably the quickest I have ever received food at a restaurant. The seating arrangements can be had for small groups, intimacy, for the single pensive person. The restroom facilities are immaculate. This place is a real treasure.

I would call this whole experience a hot mess....except NONE of our food was hot. So it's just a mess. Beginning with the extremely cheeky young guy at the host stand. After a ridiculous wait, my friend checked in only to be told, "Have another Mimo" This was absolutely unacceptable. Aaaaand we're off. A very poorly run establishment, it is clearly operating with a small crew. Or somebody (several) didn't show up for work. Everyone was stretched too far to give any sort of attention to patrons, let alone quality service. After our order was taken our server was no where to be found. We could not get more coffee - or the opportunity to send our food back. The brunch style potatoes, biscuits (hockey pucks) and bacon where clearly batch-made for a busy shift and at the bottom of the batch. Like those mealy fries you get at fast food places and have to ask for fresher, hotter ones. The table and floor where sticky and it smelled like dirty mop water. Ummm, yeah no. Don't believe the hype.

What a popular brunch location. Even with all the nearby construction it didn't affect the crowd one bit. We enjoyed brunch with friends after a 30 minute wait but we'll worth it. It has a small town cafe charm with excellent service and food. I can't even remember how many times we were thanked for being there. A great place and we will certainly return.

Great food and atmosphere! Missing the 5th star due to staff sometimes charging more for add-ons than the menu price (but they always correct it). They don't take reservations but I recently called ahead as a courtesy to let them know we had a large party (it's a small place)....most places appreciate the heads up. Not the guy who answered on this occasion. I got "there's nothing we can do but put you on the waiting list when you arrive". Whoever he was...not a customer service oriented approach and could do with a little coaching.

although I've been in the Kansas City metro area for over 12 years today was my 1st. time eating at the Corner Restaurant. The only problem is I'm sorry I waited so long... A wonderfully clean and inviting atmosphere, friendly folks providing classy and grade a service. The food and actually recipes are just fantastic. Honestly one of the best in Kansas City. Get in there and try it I guarantee you go back again and again I know I will.

Outstanding place for breakfast! The Brioche French Toast was terrific. It was deliciously flavoured and didn't need any additional syrup. Dylan was great! I never saw the bottom of my coffee cup.

We drove 20 minutes out of our way to try something new, based off of a coupon in the entertainment coupon book which has been around for years. Our waitress China, or Shyla, was extremely helpful but when we gave her the coupon she said she would take it to her manager. The manager, who didn't bother to introduce himself (but the waitress said his name was Drew) said it was a fake. We have been using these coupon books and never heard of such a thing. We explained we drove 20 minutes specifically because of this, and the man just turned and walked away. They have stuff advertised on the chalkboard they don't even have, food is pricey, more than it's worth. Based on this experience we will not be back.

Was told our party of 7 would be a 30 minute wait. 45 minutes later still not seated. Several people only had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. The guy running the door was in no big hurry to accommodate us. My first time there. Won't be back. The guy at the door was rude when I checked to see how much longer. When I looked at his list, at least 15 people after us had been seated. Our waitress was not very personable either. Not impressed.

This place is usually pretty good, that's why me and the fam come here often. Not the case today. My order was wrong and instead of fixing it my waitress insulted me basically insinuating that I didn't know what scallops and grits were, even though Ive ordered it about 2-3 times a week since its been out on the menu. Food was salty and cold. I didn't bother complaining cause I didn't want to be insulted by staff again. I drive all the way from South OP to eat here. I'll definitely think twice before coming here.

It's always crowded on weekends so expect to wait for a table. Good news, the food is worth the wait. Service could be better. Portions are generous and a good value. I have noticed that some dishes are under-seasoned, but that is add much a matter of taste as a out is an objective observation. Also cocktails are great with spicy Bloody Marys are my favorite.

We had read reviews and were really looking forward to eating here. We (group of 4) came for breakfast and were seated at a table in the far back near the area where servers used the register. It was like being in a closet, and there were numerous empty tables out front. One member of our party asked why we were seated here and the hostess replied it was because it was in the area for our server. No offer to move us, even though we could see our server waiting on tables in the outer area. Once our food arrived, one persons oatmeal was cold, had to be sent back. Another found grit/gravel in his greens. The cook did come out to our table and apologized for this, and we were not charged for this item. I had pancakes which were decent, the vanilla maple syrup was really good. Our server was courteous and efficient, but this experience was nothing we ever want to repeat. Will eat elsewhere from now on.

I love this place, truly. I've never had a bad meal and always left satisfied. I give it 4 stars for the waits that I've experienced. It's already loud and the entryway gets jammed packed with hangry patrons, staring taggers at those already seated. I don't know how they would fix this issue at the current location, but it's something I dread when we visit.

Found out that this was a popular spot to have brunch on the weekends, and decided to stop by one morning. The food is absolutely divine! I had the Pimosas (pomegranate mimosas) with the pulled pork tacos and fried egg and it was easily the best brunch I have ever had. I’m just mad at myself for not going sooner! The staff is very attentive, kind and fast!

Always worth the wait. As a biscuits and gravy connoisseur, I’ll say theirs is good...but not the best, but i don’t care because i usually order the grits when I’m here. The grits are the best. Omg. Th chorizo grits. Beam me up! Everything is good tho and I’m no fool. Even their burger is one of the best in town! The bun and Boursin cheese make it straight fire. I wish I was there now. Not much of a wait for 2 on a Sunday morning but parties of 4 or more needed to exercise a little patience. There is outdoor seating available along the sidewalk. The hostess was very welcoming & pleasant as was our server. Food was served promptly & piling hot. French toast was tasty. Sweet potato hash filled with veggies with added avocado was absolutely magnificent. Plenty of seating throughout, bar area & rustic decor. Meter parking available.

This place was so good and so fast! I got there about 8:30am on a Tuesday and the server was very prompt and helpful. The egg white scramble was delicious and the sage sausage patty was great as well! I recommend sitting outside - the inside has super cool art but it’s got a bit of a musty smell.

The food was good, although they did forget the pancakes and extra syrup, etc. but I think it was more because they don't write down orders, so there's always a risk of it getting wrong. The blackberry mosa was disappointing. I was hoping for a mimosa with flair. It tasted like a glass of champagne.

Great experience! I couldn’t find something negative about my experience here if I tried. I came to the restaurant with 4 buddies for breakfast at 11am the day after the 4th of July. Most of us had the “Hangover Cure” and coffees. Service was very timely and all the staff were very courteous. The establishment was very clean and well decorated. Everyone loved their food and our time there. This is definitely my new “go to” for breakfast or brunch for myself or with guests.

Really cute brunch place! My boyfriend and I both got eggs benedict. The eggs were cooked correctly and the potatoes were super quickly.

This is one of my favorite places to go to for brunch. Everything I've tried there has been simply amazing whether it is a good or beverage item. Be prepared to wait for a table however. The place is so popular that it's always packed. On average I've had to wait about 30 minutes for a table for 2 people.

So happy we chose The Corner Restaurant for breakfast this morning. The restaurant was lively without feeling crowded, the staff was friendly, and the service was excellent. My yummy brioche French toast absolutely made my day. Shout out to the amazing Andrea for making us feel so welcome, and for understanding the importance of a SMALL to-go box. This place is one of Kansas City's tiny treasures.

The staff and the service in general are always great. The food is AMAZING every time! I've tried a variety of things and have always been more then thrilled about the taste and quality. Drinks are tasty, and the spicy bloody Mary is legit spicy.
