REVIEWS OF Quay Coffee IN Kansas

Lexie Martinson

The interior was supper cute and reminded me of a coffeehouse back home. That’s what attracted me to the place. But however the coffee was not my favorite.

Amy Meyer

As a traveling coffee lover, I'm always seeking out the best coffee experiences. This place has strong flavored coffee with baristas who care (and with hipster mustaches). Enjoy your coffee whilst soaking in the comforting wooden interior, exposed brick walls, framed coffee sacks, hand crafted table ornaments and music that's soft enough to hear the espresso beans grind. Not to mention, the large windows looking onto a quaint strip in River City Market.

Dave Newkirk

Great location, cool music... if they could only do something about the customer playing his video over his tablet...

Alies Dalton

Great place to work or visit in the heart of River Market. It is on the train line. It is handicapped acceptable except the bathrooms which are impeded by tables. Love the environment. They don't have much of a food selection, but the chi is good. Quickly becoming my favorite coffee house.

Mitchell Gray

You won't be disappointed !

C. Blake Davis

I really like this place. The Chai is excellent, the staff are friendly and it's a very hip and relaxed vibe. I could definitely see myself spending some time here working on my laptop or playing board games with friends, or just having a cute coffee date with my wife. Highly recommended.

William Morgan

What can I say about perfect coffee served by people who care about their craft? Try it. Go to Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, and the Roasterie . Then visit Shangri La. Dont rush. Bring something to read and sip your drink slowly. Feel the hipster coolness around you. Interesting people all around. Its special.

Dallas Anderson

One station for coffee, one station for alcohol. One station for food. Too much work

Kimberly Thomas

Barista was very kind. Coffee tasted stale.

Alec Loudenback

Top notch coffee experience in Kansas City. It's a very spacious shop and the barista was very knowledgeable. I forget what it was called, but one of the options was to try the espresso in two forms: with and without cream. It really let you compare the flavors, the boldness of the espresso and the complimentary smoothness of the milk.

Susan Quandt

Quay Coffee is a gem of a coffeeshop in the heart of the River Market. This location is second to none. It is easily accessible via streetcar, car, or any other mode of transportation, and it is also walking distance to a variety of restaurants in the area (Il Lazzarone, Freestyle Poke, etc.). The coffee is consistently great as well!

Christina Barrero

Some really good coffee is brewed here. The place is always packed whenever I visit, and many people like to hangout here with their laptops to study.

Brian Chute

Wife and I ordered a pour over and were really disappointed. It had a burnt or green flavor (kind of like Starbucks can be sometimes). It was very watery and see-through. Nice ambiance inside and a cool neighborhood, but we won't be going back.

Anna Green

Went a couple days in a row and you could tell the coffee was made by different people - I preferred my latte the 1st day significantly over the 2nd day. Thought the atmosphere was nice, but I prefer other local coffee shops over this one.

Brooke Grisham

Terrible staff experience today. Very rude... we went up to order, one girl was busy, another was at the end of the counter talking to a guy. The busy girl asked the other girl to help take our order, the girl talking to the guy visibly rolled her eyes because she had to help us. While we were there the other girl rudely informed us that we needed to leave because they closed at 4.. it was 4:12. (Our bad, we should have looked at the time) but a kinder tone would have been appreciated. Coffee is typically good, cute place but probably won’t be going back.

Matthew W Leonard

Great local coffee shop in the historic River Market area. Love the look of the shop: a two floor store with exposed brick walls, framed coffee bags, and typical chalk board with their specials. The large windows at the front of store showed the off the neighborhood and provided an open feel. The staff is really nice and helpful. They were willing to make suggestions and walked around and talked to the patrons.

Emily Welch

Great coffee! Fun atmosphere! Good service! Awesome location!

Jami Schroeder

Great prices and fast service. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with just a short walk to City market and other shops

T. L. Bainter

Quay coffee is a great location. It's not far from River Market, there's almost always easy parking (though it is limited in terms of the length of time permitted in the lot), and the staff is quite friendly.

Roxann Cervantes

The coffee is not good enough to cover the fact that the staff is extremely immature and rude. The staff was acting like they were just there to hang out with each other. Never once did any of them make eye contact with me.... even as I ordered. Once I got my espresso... it was burnt dead coffee. My friend ordered a hot chocolate... it tasted rancid.

Irene Shtrulis

Delicious, spacious and cozy. Had the honey lavender iced latte.

Roxi Herbert

I'm more of a star bucks kinda coffee drinker but there coffee isnt bad.

Robert Jurbergs

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and was a really good spot to unwind and sit with coffee and wifi!

Cari Pruessner

Great coffee!

Ted Anderson

Great atmosphere.

Jimmy Pace

They got coffee and friendly staff. Not much else you can ask for from a local coffee shop

Adri Luna

I love this place. Very hip and pleasant. The last time I went my honey latte was amazing and I also had a pop-tart which was very nice but very sugary. We were able to grab a table with no problem but half the tables were taken up by people with laptops. It would be very frustrating to not find a table with five or six people sitting solo at tables. The boys behind the counter were really nice as well, explaining drinks and joining us in a conversation about an art exhibit at the Nelson. Pros: GREAT coffee, chill atmosphere, next to a trolley, fun workers, good prices Cons: None

Dashell Wilder

Very smooth, great quality espresso!

Benny Ives

This place has great coffee and fantastic people. Totally dropped my latte outside due to my own fault, and they graciously remade it for me and wouldn't accept additional payment. A++

Jackson Williams

The best hipster coffee in the city and a great place to do a little work. I really like the extra coffee shot they give you - makes you feel special.

pamela morris

It's fine. Just not my kinda place.

Jeannie N

Ehh vibes. It's okay. I feel like every coffee shop should have hot cup stoppers (I don't really know what is called) for when people take hot drinks to-go, it's best to have it closed off to keep from spilling out. Smh, amateurs.

John Raux

Incredible coffee. I love the new plants!

Amir Bhuiyan

My favorite local coffee shop while I lived in River Market. Their drinks pretty good and the staff is always friendly. Zach was my favorite barista!

Adam Malaty-Uhr

Great place to settle in for some work or to have a great meeting with friends. Staff is great and the coffee is on point.

Troy Walker

Great coffee shop in downtown KC. If you’re in the area, check it out.

Phillip Fiorentino

This was a cozy environment with very delicious coffee rated about an average of 1 to 2 dollars cheaper than a starbucks. Parking is always a pain in the downtown area, but once you're there it's comfortable. A good spot to go for a date, and the music is at a low rumble so hear people you're talking with and the bathrooms were alright. Same with the toilet paper. Also, very close to the city market! Drink in the first pic is a vanilla latté; they don't have hazelnut flavor but they change their coffee types every 3-6 months.

Heather Martens

not impressed. Customer service terrible ... barista acted like she was put out when we ordered our drin k S. when I asked the guy barista for more ice she rolled her eyes and shook her head....customer service is part of a good coffee shop experience.

Metal Moth

Its a nice quite coffee shop, good Chai tea.

Hannah Kouri

I went here to meet with a few people to discuss plans for my wedding because we were looking for a nice environment that was laid back and easy to talk in. The staff was okay at first, and the coffee was good but while my group and I were still talking (around 7:45pm and they close at 8pm) one of the staff came and reminded us that they were closing in 10 minutes and then reached over one of my friends, who was sitting by their main stereo, to turn the house music up louder which made it difficult for us to finish up our meeting. I thought it was pretty disrespectful, especially since we were paying customers. I don't think I'll be going back.

Kholton Dwyer

Good vibes, great coffee!

M S-C

The barista wasn't very friendly. First time I had been there. I wasn't sure of the process of ordering or paying. She rolled her eyes when I asked. Also my two lattes were barely warm.

Jennifer Kruse

My scone was good but the coffee was really bitter and tasted burnt. Cute decor.

Mabry Keel

One of my favorite coffee shops in KC! Its got great coffee, friendly staff, and is in such a fun part of town. I love the big window that look out on Delaware street, you see the streetcar pass every 15ish minutes

Bri Van Til

The Quay has wonderful coffee and good baked goods (they use Scratch Bakery).

Katie Manring

Great espresso beverages, artsy and open atmosphere. Quiet enough to work and yet still a great place for a meet-up as well.

Kaylee Farmer

Great place to study or get cozy with a friend.

Taylor Faith

They need to have places like this in more towns!

Kelly Murphy

Spiced brown sugar latte is to die for

Sarah sims

Their vanilla bean is the best latte in town!

Benjamin Medlock

Best Vanilla iced coffee in Kansas City!

Kelly Hannifan

I would be sure to look at your receipt after getting coffee here. I got a large drip coffee for about $3.00, so imagine my surprise when I saw my credit card statement charge for $6.35. The barista tipped himself 100% without permission. Great.

Matt Simpson

This place always has an amazing energy about it. I come here at least 3x a week . It’s a great place to get a coffee and crush out some work. The staff are all extremely friendly and attentive. I wish there were more of these around the city . I do believe they are expanding though so that is good .

brian huey

Worth the wait and its weight in gold. Full bodied flavors are brought out by the medium beans and carefully orchestrated pour overs. Nice environment.

Justin Holley

My cappuccino was pretty good, but the barista was in a bad mood or just plain unfriendly both times I went to Quay Coffee.

Hugo A

One of the best coffee shops in the area. I enjoy their hot Hugo teas (named after me)... :) I've gone on Sunday morning when they open. Usually have the place for myself. Nice place to chill.

Janelle Quinlan

Great coffee, quiet staff, loud space. I enjoy grabbing coffee to go, but not staying for long. The place is often crowded and people talking loudly, but the staff are rarely heard even when taking your order. Coffee 5☆, ambience 2☆.

Magarara McNeil

Wonderful coffee.

Joshua Williams

My gibraltar was great and the staff answered all of my questions politely. A real friendly place.

Steve Hartig

Nice neighborhood and a trendy looking coffee place. On a Saturday morning with the market crowd there was about a ten minute wait to get coffee. My wife had a black tea which was fine. I decided to go for their specialty pour over coffee which had a nice flavor but was only warm which kind or ruined everything

Natalie Jamison

In the world of Kansas City coffee Quay Coffee stands out for their creativity and quality. The seasonal drinks are killer not matter what season or what drink you choose you are in for a good time. For the social media buffs the lighting is great and the space is beautiful. For those looking for a spot to chill it’s not uncommon to find people sipping their drink and reading a book.

Leah Ternes

I was suuuuuuuuuper excited to go to Quay coffee. I am from a town a few hours away from Kansas City and a huge part of the reason we chose Kansas City for our vacation destination was all the great coffee. Quay was the coffee shop that caught my eye the most and really intrigued me. It was one I had to find on my own and hadn’t really heard about through any of my barista coworkers, which was part of why I wanted to give it a shot. I could tell from their social media pages and their website that they take time to dial in the coffee and make sure it’s all the craft it should be. As a barista in a 3rd wave shop, it was really important to me to go to a local, unique, third wave shop that was going to be a special experience and give me a great cup of coffee. But I was honestly kind of disappointed from the get go. The space is beautiful. Inside and out (the patio has a lot of wonderful plants for summer) but it didn’t seem to feel like it went much deeper than that. Since we’d never been in before (my partner and I) we stood at the counter for a bit to look at the menu and try to decipher what the pastries were. I was surprised that no one behind the counter offered any help or asked how we were doing. (Even though there were at least 3 or 4 baristas) Then when we were ordering I mentioned that we’d never been in before and was super excited to try everything and the girl ringing us up didn’t even comment, just asked to make sure we wanted our drinks to go, which really struck me as rude as we didn’t want them to go. I told her we wanted them for here, the pastries and the coffee. We got our pastries and went and sat down while we waited for our coffee. When our coffee came up it was in to go cups. It honestly felt intentional at that point almost like they wanted us to leave? It was busy in there, but nothing ridiculous and we were able to find seating easily. I was honestly really disappointed. I wasn’t going to ask them to remake it for here, but it just felt like it was there way of saying we should keep moving on. I was happy with my cappuccino that I’d ordered but my partners drink was really sad. She got an iced latte made breve with the house caramel and it didn’t taste like coffee at all. It looked like milk with caramel in it, and tasted like it too. And yes, most people that order a coffee like that are ordering it from Starbucks normally and want something similar but that was not the case with us. Even after all of this I decided to buy a bag of beans Bc that was one of my must haves on the trip and it was our last day so we wouldn’t have time to stop in another shop. I picked out my bag of coffee, again kind of surprised none of the baristas offered any recommendations or asked if I had any questions (it had also slowed down by this point, many of them were standing around). Every bag of their beans comes with a free shot or coffee, and I awkwardly had to ask for my free coffee to go (it wasn’t offered) Bc by then we were both ready to leave. Definitely would stop in at messenger or oddly correct next time before going back to Quay. Should’ve listened to my baristas back home.

Leah White

I love love love Quay. They make the best coffee in Rivermarket. The employees are so kind, and really seem to care about their regulars. They also are really good at you know, making coffee. It is a small building but don't let that scare you away from a phenomenal establishment.

Molly S

Great service and amazing coffee! I almost ordered a second latte, which I never do. House made syrups are to die for!

Erin Peterson

Went to the location by the Nelson Atkins, been craving a vanilla latte ever since. It was next level vanilla.

Sam Gmuer

A lovely place in the heart of downtown KC!

David Ponce

Nice coffee shop that use homemade and local shops for their syrups. Lots of seating and wifi for those looking to hang out with their laptops

Brandon Sperry

A wonderful coffee shop. Definitely a must-do on any coffee crawl or KC day trip. The manager, Ben, was very friendly, knowledgeable about coffee and had great recommendations for other places to see in KC! He also busted out his fall specials menu early for me, and made me this subtlety sweet and spicy espresso and hot red pepper cocktail. As a fellow coffee enthusiast, the opportunity to chat with Ben, and the time he took to chat with me was such a refreshing experience in a shop. Will be back.

Gregory Galvin

Nice traditional coffeehouse atmosphere. Wonderful mix of clientele.

Brandon Wlosinski

Great coffee, can get crowded. Good WiFi, friendly staff.

Samantha Howell

I love this little coffee shop. It's great for hosting business meetings and of course it's great coffee!

Ben Weldon

Better that your chain coffee shops. They have some decent breakfast options and a good selection of different coffee.

Brian Steele

Great neighborhood coffee shop. Good coffee and pastries. They also have good breakfast burritos.

Jamon Hauder

Great quality of coffee! Has a cool hipster vibe!

Kevin Tipton

Rustic Atmosphere. Decent Prices. Quality Coffee. Free Wifi. Limited Street Parking

Bridget Smeltzer

Great people

Anna Williams

Love this shop, so comfortable and people are very nice

Dan-O The Mad Scientist

Yum yum in the tum tum! Love this place!

Katerina Wong

Probably the best, smoothest cold brew I've ever had - I just wish I hadn't been so sick at the time. The service was wonderful - there aren't many places where I can switch what I might get 3 times and the barista wouldn't want to slap me, but the barista here was so wonderful and helpful with choosing the drink. For studying, the wifi was good, the ambient noise was a little on the quiet side and the lighting was a little low, but the windows are wide and expansive so it never gets too dark. There are outlets along the wall, but there isn't quite enough for one to each seat. The only downside was that the street has so much activity that it sometimes gets distracting (but that might be a me thing).

Roger Holifield

Yeap...It's just your regular bunch of yuppies with their wire rimmed glasses and macbooks trying to look and sound cool to each other. That's the crowd you will see at any hipster coffee joint though... As far as the location, service, selection, price...I would rather go here than to any Starbucks. It's nice and quaint. It's close to my office so it's a nice place to get away if you need to work on something.

Jared Friesen

Great coffee I'd definitely go back

Joan Garrison

Very cool space & vibe in the River Market. Excellent cold brew and cappuccino, too.

Philip Clark

Best coffee in Kansas City!

Nathan Jantz

I frequent this coffee shop when I'm in the area, consistently good coffee, and nice baristas.

Jesus Duran

Friendly staff, nice and cozy environment

Larry Ganschow

...By the fashionable Kansas City River market.

Jared J

The coffee experience at Quay is something that has to be experienced by any true coffee lover. Every week, Cory and his staff seek out the best beans to offer their customers. Their knowledge of coffee specific is refreshing and their helpfulness in setting up your home brew station are the best in the area.

Alexander Vallar

Full of character and a peaceful study in environment. Probably one of the best Coffee shops in the Rivermarket (Neighborhood North of Downtown). There are plenty of tables that accommodate large groups and individuals.

Gwendolyn Sullivan

Stellar espresso and espresso based drink preparation. I used to own an espresso business, trained barista’s and value properly prepared coffee highly. We visited Quay twice, first yesterday then again today. It’s about a mile walk from the convention center in downtown and worth every step of the journey! The latte art on my friends drink today was the best example of free poured art I have ever seen. The drink itself was excellent. My espresso was smooth and aromatic. Beautifully done, both.

Danelle Hungerford

Loved the atmosphere. Coffee was good but they were out of almond milk so I had to get oat milk instead. Took the taste of my coffee from probably a 5 to a 4 since I wasn't a huge fan of it.

Christina Kumler

I only got the espresso but it was delicious. Perfectly made and presented, it hit the spot! I like tea and while I didn't get it this time, I noticed a selection of good tea leaves of several varieties. Had wonderful service and look forward to going back. Highly recommend!

Stephen Girgis

Great atmosphere with great coffee. The perfect place to bring a book or study for a few hours if needed.

Madeline Cannon

Great coffee and friendly staff! The breakfast burritos are also very yummy. We try to come to Quay anytime we are in Kansas City and it never disappoints.

C. Clark Cumbo

It was ok. Servings are small and expensive. Typical pretentious(customers, not staff) coffee shop. Service was good and nice atmosphere.

Jerry Oldie

Nice place to read.

Mary Morrison

Great variety of drinks including tea and apple cider

Rebecca B.

Great little coffee shop!

Lee Ellis

Good coffee nuff said.

Jeanine Deichler

Love the ambience, staff, and especially the coffee and tea.

Chris Chandler

Here's the thing, Quay used to be arguably the best coffee in KC. Part of the reason for that was thay they had guest roasters frequently so you could try coffee from all over the country. One of the things that made Quay unique was that they brewed their coffee perfectly AND partnered with amazing roasters to get top tier beans. Since Thou Mayest took over there has been a noticable drop in quality. I loved the original Thou Mayest location so I was optimistic about new owners, but the quality has taken a noticable dip. They no longer have guest roasters, but only Thou Mayest roasted coffee. It's priced well, but isn't near the quality. My wife is a big ice latte fan and the ice latte is super milky--the ratio is all off. I'm sitting here today trying one myself and it taste like 90% milk. I'm bummed that I can't try amazing pour overs from great roasters at Quay any more. I really hope things improve at Quay. I'll continue to stop by every so often, but it's no longer my go to shop on KC.

Dr Jonathan Rojjanasrirat

What a hip place, great to go get coffee and get some work done!

phyllis griffin

Fantastic restaurant, totally deserves it's Michelin star. We loved the food, all the staff, the owner is amazing! Very reasonably priced, I'd pay more.

Suzie Chhouk

Quay is a good place to hang out. Great interior. I'm not a coffee person, but I love their Hugo Chai. Streetcar will pass by every now and then.

Christopher Delance

This is easily my favorite coffee spot in the city. Ever since I was turned on to actual good coffee, this has been my spot. I recommend getting the cold brew coffee!! It’s super strong but doesn’t taste bad. And if you are looking for a coffee experience where they don’t just pour it from a huge vat of premise coffee, this is the place to go. And the atmosphere here is very lax and comfortable. Highly recommended

henry ruiz

One of the tastiest and gratifying chai lattes I've ever had. And the perfectly crisp and sweet apple fritter was a wonderful partner.

Shawn Hansen

Quay is just outside the main hustle & bustle of the main River Market square, which makes it a nice, quiet place & one of my favorites :) . Great service, coffee, snacks, & wifi. Definitely recommend!

Nathan Hopper

Truly one of the best local coffee shops in the city. I have never, literally, left here disappointed. I have tried all the others. The coffee selection, which rotates, is always top shelf. The pour overs are done with such precision. The first time I walked in, I thought "I just paid $4 for a 12oz cup of coffee, and it's worth every penny." If someone asks me for a great coffee shop I send them here. While the coffee is excellent, the from-scratch hot chocolate is a hidden gem. Perhaps even better than the coffee.

Caitlen Sloan

Very quick service and the tea was great. But the music is a little too loud at times for all the conversation going on.

Allie

Quay is average. Just that. It's where I go when I'm in the River Market area because, well, it's convenient. However I don't go out of my way to have coffee at Quay. I get why it's expensive-it's basically handcrafted coffee, but its just not my cup tea (or cup of joe rather).

Chelsea Christensen

Quaint coffee shop with delicious coffee! Employees are very friendly and take pride in their coffee craftsmanship. A little cramped if it's busy but otherwise a nice place to meet up with an old friend or get some work done.

Emmanuel

Great coffee and an equally great atmosphere! Loved the service and my caramel macchiato was superb!

Johnny Chen

One of the best mocha in KC area!

Dan C

Pour over and 12OZ vanilla latte. Everything you would expect. Coffee, served at the right temperature. The vanilla latte was also served nice and warm, not too sweet. Great job.

Frankie Bellucci

Good coffee. Good atmosphere. Great pastries.

Sarah Taylor

This place had great style and cleanliness. However the drinks there were so tiny and for the serving you got, it wasn't at all worth it. Plus, it tasted nasty.

Gary Palmer

Just look at this pour over....super attentive to detail and taste. Highly recommend!

Robert Slayton

Terrible place, poor service. Ordered an americano coffee. Asked for sweetener, all they had was syrup. Gave them back the coffee, they didn’t refund my money, so that makes them a dishonest place.

Brandon Nelson

Good coffee, knowledgeable staff. Uncomfortable seating.

brian castaneda

Definitely try the hot chocolate just make sure they don't water it down happened to me once around closing time but still have been back

Henry Kirkman

Quay Coffee is a few hundred feet from a KC Streetcar stop. The acme brick exterior stands out with the black, green and cream colored frames around the large picture windows. The acme brick wall continues as the main feature down the right side of the coffee bar where the baristas serve you.

Luke Reese

Great coffee place to stop in quick or sit down for couple hours. Cappuccino and Vanilla Latte were delicious!

Caitlyn Hunt

A great place to get a coffee or tea. Has amazing lighting and always a good energy inside. Staff are friendly . I really enjoy coming here to do my work

Tyler Somers

I had the Tekton Blueprint batch brew and my wife had the Ethiopian pour over. Delicious! And less expensive than Nashville :)

Goku Chi

My wife and I refuse to go any other place. I always get a mocha and brown sugar pop tart.

Braxton Tempest

Visiting from Tulsa, Oklahoma and was looking for a cool place to hangout. Found this place, and was not disappointed! Environment was great with soft music in the background, and aroma as soon as you walked in. Seating for small groups and for individuals. There’s nice bar seating looking out the window to the street—nice touch. Great view of the Kansas City skyline right as you walk out the door. The iced vanilla latte was great, and had a unique flavor. Staff was really nice and recommended some of their best options to us—very friendly. The space wasn’t quiet, but was cozy. Overall, cool, hipster environment with great coffee and helpful, inviting staff.

Bryce Kuder

Really good. Try the pumpkin spice syrup in something. Super delicious! Way better than Farschtucks.

Kayla

Great coffee they have almond milk as an option for those who don't drink milk which is nice. There donuts are amazing and the breakfast burrito's are pretty good too the vegetable burrito is not vegan though it still comes with eggs and cheese in case anyone was wondering.

jesse townsend

Great stop for working or just to catch up with friends. Coffee is very good and staff is friendly. It is located on a one-way street 2 hour parking, close to river market, lots of other places to explore around as well.

Cory Hansen

Best iced vanilla latte I've ever had

Braidon Barkman

Very professional and knowledgeable. The coffee is top notch as well! If you enjoy QUALITY coffee it's the #1!

Tricia Bushnell

I love the coffee and generally love the staff, but the last 3 times I've been here, it took over 20 minutes to get an Americano. They made it right by giving me a $5 token, just know this isn't your place if you're in a rush. It's my preferred meet up for carpools. River market parking nearby and you're always a winning passenger when you show up with Quays.

Madison Grinnell

Great coffee and seating!

Jessica Friesen

I really wanted to love this place. The atmosphere was neat and located in a neat area of town, but my drink was mediocre and the shop was really crowded. My husband and I had to sit in the back directly in front of the bathroom door. I can imagine a spot by the window would have made our experience alot more special.

Joshua Hindman

Very relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Will come back!

Loretta Cobb

Fun coffee shop with good vibe and location. I have been on several occasions and have enjoyed the coffee. This evening I was disappointed. The mocha was weak tasting and I didnt like that it was served in a to go cup. It really seemed like I got a paper cup because It was closer to closing time (6:30, closing time is 8) Better luck next time. I will try again.

Dawn Markum

Loved their Hugo chai latte. Have almond and oat milk alternatives to dairy.

Joshua Miller

This is where you go to get a great latte from a hipster with a handlebar mustache. The coffee sizes are small but the quality is excellent. If you're feeling adventurous, try a nick and cork (espresso sidecar)

Liliana Ramos

Cool lil place plays cool music

Amy Brown

Hands-down one of the best shops in Kansas City. It has an undeniably cool vibe, and the coffee and treats are always delicious. Grab a spot in the parking lot north of the shop, or make a quick drive around the block to grab one of the many street parking spots. A note: This place is almost always packed and it can get quite loud — especially on the weekends. People love to camp out here for hours, which can make it frustrating if you want to pop in for a quick coffee with a seat. They've helped this situation by adding community tables at the back of the shop. They've also opened another location in the Nelson-Atkins Museum. They consistently have great baristas here, yet somehow they're always friendly and welcoming (not that arrogant barista problem some other shops have). It's one of the most popular shops in the area, but it maintains that cozy, neighborhood feeling. Overall, if you don't mind the busyness and you're willing to be a bit flexible, you can't miss out on Quay. P.S. It's pronounced "key." :)

RAJ HOSSAIN

I had an iced and hot vanilla latte both in one day. They were the best lattes I've ever had. The decor itself is simple but charming, and they have great taste in music.

Phil Ellis

Be ready for the caffeine rush if you order the cold brew! Nice space.

Crista Pinkston

I had an iced and hot vanilla latte both in one day. They were the best lattes I've ever had. The decor itself is simple but charming, and they have great taste in music.

Nathan Anderson

Amazing coffee. Can't wait to see what they do with Thou Mayest!!!

Brandi Schoen

At first glance, you think it is going to be pretentious an loaded with hipsters. But it's really amazing coffee, and knowledgeable, excellent staff. Plus, they carry Hugo tea for the non-coffee people in your life.

Rex Brashear

It was pretty good. I would like another trip to make up my mind. There wasn't anything much to really make the shop stand out as unique. I do like that it's right off the street car stop, and if you're in the area, it's worth your time and your dollar.

Chad Spray

Great service and my favorite coffee in town!

Kayla Rodriguez

It was really good and a nice place to hangout and catch up with a friend. The staff was really nice and patient with us while we tried to figure out what we wanted

Veronica Otero

I was visiting Kansas City, looking for apartments and I found this place. My type of coffee! Sol delicious. They also sell protein snacks, which are also very good.

Nicole Bissey

Great coffee shop to meet friends in; coffee is very good. Baristas are knowledgeable and easy going. Can get crowded.

Aaron Erlendsson

While their atmosphere is shifting under new management, they're still my favorite coffee shop in KC.

Brad Rieschick

Great coffee and an awesome spot to chill while you enjoy it.

Al Fetterer

Challenging parking; great coffee. Fantastic staff!

Mama Monkey

Great coffee, and a good place to buy coffee as a gift to take home.

Michael Brittenham

This is a great coffee shop and a regular stop every time I'm in town. Very casual and relaxed atmosphere.

Quality at it's best! :-) REMEMBER: 2 Timothy 1:7 - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

This is a cool place and the coffee is good. But a large hot coffee is a joke. It is so small and the charge $3.35. rediculous for such a small cup of good old Joe.

Amazing atmosphere with delicious pour over coffee. Newly remodeled. The staff is super friendly.
