Common Grounds is the definition of a quaint and cozy coffeehouse. The coffee is great, the food menu is diverse, and the service is southern-style friendly. Love the atmosphere here.
I tried Common Grounds Coffee House this week! The parking was weird because it was behind the house. The people were kind and friendly. The peruvian latte was good, I LOVED the mug color! I also had a yummy smoothie. The atmosphere was fantastic and I loved the Christian music playing. I definitely want to go back.
What a wonderful place. The people that work there are so friendly and helpful. Plus they allow AA and NA to have meetings up stairs nightly. It's quite a amazing place. If you like coffee and you want something different for atmosphere. This is a definite must check out. You will enjoy yourself and it is a very relaxing atmosphere.
Incredibly cute house, incredibly sweet staff, excellent study space, uniquely perfect for groups with multiple thoughtfully furnished separate rooms. Excellent coffee and delicious food. 10 out of 10 would recommend, but don't steal my secluded nook! I can't get over how utterly reasonable the prices are either!
This is one of my favorite hole in the wall coffee shops. I love that they also support the drug/alcohol/codependency recovery community. When I spend money there I know it's going to a good place.
Best coffee in town. Me and my wife went on our first date here and I proposed there a year later.
Always a great place to go. I've been here to study, have lunch with friends (vegan friendly!), even play open mics on Monday's, and would consider all experiences successful ventures. 10/10 would recommend
I love going to this place, the workers are always friendly and it’s a cozy atmosphere for studying or having a good cup of coffee with friends.
Good coffee and good food! But the lady that was working was pretty cranky and it took about 30 minutes to get our food.
Go see Silas.
Hipster hangout with open Mic.
Offering a homey atmosphere and a sobriety based environment I can't think of a better place coffee shop wise for a recovering addict or anyone in general to come unwind hang out and know they are safe. I have loved this place from the day it opened. Its my go to place for any reason any day.
Staff is very friendly. The layout of the shop is very unique and unlike any other coffee shop I've been to.
Cozy, great coffee and tasty snacks. Perfect for studying. Only down side is sometimes there's not many seats. Wish there were more comfy couches too!
Friendly staff, beautifully decorated. Great place to sit & have coffee by yourself or with a friend. In nice weather, great to sit outside on the porch!
ordered quesedilla wasnt good at all just chunks of chiken n cheese no side sauce or nothing to eat with, special coffee didnt taste any good , gas station coffee is better ... n inside dont look anything like the pictures ... the interior pictures are probably years old ... they need maintenance n a good cleaning + if the servers would use gloves while heating food it'll do better.
Stopped in on a quick break from work, got a Cubano and a Medium Roast coffee for the road. Solid coffees all the way around 10/10 will be back!
Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Love the decor, too. Nice little live piano performance going this evening. ❤️
Nice coffee shop. 2 blocks from the office, so very convenient!
Nice. Laid back. Good coffee and good food.
Their coffee is great. I've only eaten there once and did not have a good experience but I feel that it was an off day for them.
I hate giving 3 stars, but I really feel like I need to. My husband and I were in town for the weekend and eat a vegan diet. With that being said, we are super intentional about where we go, bc, let's face it, not all places serve food or drinks that we can eat. On their website, this coffee joint boasted vegan-friendly menu items and since we were going around 11, we decided that we would go ahead and get something to eat with our "morning" coffee. We went in (service was amazing by the way!) and ordered a veggie burger and asked about their vegan muffins... to which they said "oh, we don't have any vegan food anymore, we used to, but demand wasn't high enough in the area" we weren't upset or anything, but we did let them know that their website should probably be updated. We ended up forgoing the food and just had a dirty chai with coconut milk and a cappuccino with the same. The drinks were good.
Awesome coffee, unique space with relaxing atmosphere. I've been a customer since the 90's and it still holds a caffeinated place in my heart.
Great place to meet friends to read or study. It can get noisy and crowded. My favorite drink is the Honey Bee. Coffee, vanilla and honey. Yum.
Great atmosphere, ppl and menu choices
Common Grounds serves the best coffee in town. Simple as that. The crew is knowledgeable when it comes to service, sense of urgency, and coffee. I never wait more than 5-10 minutes for my drink. The people working there are quick, polite, and all around amazing. I have found my new favorite spot for coffee!
Quiet little local coffeeshop with its own unique selections and off-beat decor.
Great coffee, great food, great pastries... did I already say great coffee? Possibly the only coffee shop in town where it's actually cozy enough to stay for a while -- multiple sofas next to OUTLETS; what more can you want? Their open mic night is also a lot of fun.
Perfect little coffee house with tons of seating, board games, and great coffee! Firendly service too
Great place to study, variety of spaces to pick from. Including a big room in the back if you are studying with a group. Prices are reasonable, drinks are good, and staff is friendly. What more could you ask for?
Comfortable place with a lot of seating. Mostly hospitable staff. No stifling political atmosphere.
A beautiful place with beautiful people. This place saved my life.
My favorite coffee shop in all of Kentucky! That's saying a lot coming from me! Must order the Honey Bee latte! Cold or hot either one is definitely the best
They Compost with Seedleaf and friendly people. The Art here is very tasteful!
Had their strawberry freeze! Good!!!
Great vegan options! Garett is fantastic!
Enjoy coming here several times a week for the excellent service and quality coffee and pastries. It's my home away from home and I highly recommend this place to everyone. Jennifer & Lindsey are the bomb!
Enjoy the fact that I can always find a quiet spot to have a conversation. Its cozy and people are great especially Lyndsey! Only reason you don't get a 5 start is for parking and visibility!
Two Thumbs Up! A+
Good coffee. Nothing exceptional.
This place is awesome good coffee. Friendly staff. There are 3 floors available to spread out and have a quaint chat for 2 or 12. This is definitely going to be one of my favorite places to go from now on. I would highly recommend it to anyone else.
Always a great experience coming to Common Grounds.
Great little coffee place. Quirky corner coffee shop. Awesome coffee and a good chai latte.
Great coffee, selection, and a vibrant crowd of diverse customers and employees. Must check it out if you love coffee
Neat place, broad tea selection, coffee is just OK.
This place was kind of odd from an outside perspective. I was by myself, and when I got there there was no one else there bit the one staff member. The staff person sat on a couch and worked. There was no music playing and it felt awkward and like I was sitting in a stranger's house. The coffee was fine, not amazing.
First time visiting. Loved the atmosphere, great customer service, and wonderful coffee. I will 100% be coming back and telling my co-workers to visit!!
Great relaxing place to get away!
Warm and friendly!
Awesome food and service.
It's a good cafe for getting work done and with good coffee! It tends to be a little noisy because there are so many conversations happening simultaneously, but as long as you have a good set of earphones, it's no problem. Also just a note to the vegans/vegetarians, they cook food with meat and it tends to fill up the adjacent rooms with the smells like bacon. I probably won't be coming back for this reason but if the smells don't bother you, go for it!
No white chocolate raspberry hot choclate
Love the space, great location, best coffee and prices in the state!!!
Very comfortable coffee house, great place to meet up.
Love this place nice and cozy a place where you can go and chill and relax and have some wonderful coffee is recommend this place to anyone
Very nice location! Good coffee and good service!
Always friendly. Clean. More than just coffee. More space on 2nd floor. Board games available. Encouraged to stay and sit awhile.
Best employees in the business!! Friendly, fun, helpful, and prompt. The coffee is good too
Actual coffee is served here, not just hot water + espresso ("Americano"), multiple blends and strengths are always available too. Good food and plenty of beverage selection. Just be very careful where you park.
Cuban coffee was great. Good friendly fast service!
Fabulous Place wonderful servers great consumer service
Great place to hang out!
A cozy comfy place. Great atmosphere and great employees!
We discovered Common Grounds on our city-wide coffee shop tour. It's great for creative energy, sharing, and of course, drinking coffee. The service was amazing; the employee was nice and helpful. The coffee was good--the frappuccino's are made with ice cream! :) We will definitely come back again soon!
An excellent place to have coffee
Sweet & cool team, they have board games to play and tons of eclectic seating :)
Great place to hang out for soberity! A.A and N.A. meetings!
Favorite coffee shop in Lexington! Their smoothies are my favorite.
Excellent. Great place to hang out with friends.
The recovery community's best kept secret in wichita
I go there at least twice a month, nice and quirky, just the way I like it!
This coffee house is amazing! The service is great and personal, the drinks are typically made quickly, and the food is fresh and homemade. I would definitely recommend, especially for people visiting Lexington, as an example of a relaxing and comfortable environment. Also, open mic night on Monday nights is fantastic! Local artists can come in and it adds to the experience. Definitely a good place to be.
Wow! I went this morning and got a spanish mocha coffee & breakfast burrito, i have to say, the staff is very friendly, food is delicious and i would absolutely recommend it to anyone!
I loved it! I will be back!
Got to have my coffee in the morning.
Super chill and relaxing. Great place to come and do homework. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The overall atmosphere is very welcoming!
Great prices for coffee and food! The Hot and Spicy Reuben was delicious, and a half order (which is actually a whole sandwich) is only $2 and comes with a pickle and olives. Brewed coffee is only $1, and they also have soups, snacks, smoothies, etc. Can't wait to try the Pecan Chicken Salad! It is located in a re-purposed house, so there are tons of interesting rooms to hole up in and have some quiet alone time, or you can hang out downstairs or go upstairs to play pool for free. All in all, a great hangout with great eats, drinks, and prices.
Very friendly staff and nice space. Coffee was good but those cinnamon rools...!
Really comfy here with awesome vibes as soon as you enter the atmosphere... Highly recommend people stop by on mondays for open mic as well...
Quaint and quiet. Good Earl Grey decafe tea.
This is my favorite coffee shop. I love the homey feel and friendly atmosphere. I also like the rooms upstrairs, they are quiet and have comfortable furniture. Perfect for working, studying, reading, or just having some quiet time with my coffee.
My home away from home. A friendly and comfortable coffeehouse inside an old home on Douglas. Tasty beverages, scrumptious menu, and the staff is amazing and welcoming.
Good coffee, great place to sit, read and relax when not crowded.
Great place to relax and enjoy a great coffee and read or meet with friends.
Good local coffee, weird local art, decent salad and sandwiches.
Food is great. Coffee is better than most independent shops. The place needs a good cleaning, however. Some tables are sticky and the floor often has massive dust bunnies.
Friendly service in a unique environment.
Friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Great prices.
Great atmosphere and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to be in good company..
Great place to hang out, study, live music, and the coffee is excellent.
Excellent coffee and service
I had a vanilla latte and a Reuben sandwich. Friendly service, wonderful atmosphere, and delicious.
Brilliant place to have a cuppa. With comfy couches, community event's like Open mic night, and a vast seating area - it's the perfect place to study, catch up with a friend, or just relax.
Husband enjoys the coffee. Attended meetings there. Needs some updates.
Really comfy, welcoming and enjoyable coffee spot
Great coffee. Beat in Lex.
Such a wonderful place. So peaceful
Great coffee, amazing sandwiches, love the house.
Great staff, great food and drink and very cozy! 10/10 would recommend
Hospitable place. Good tea and food.
I had such a sweet experience here! I spoke with the owner and felt her passion for her shop. It was such a homey place because it’s literally in a house and it’s so warm! I got the peruvian latte and I was wired all day.
Great coffee, comfortable place.
Good coffee, nice atmosphere. Over all it's a great local coffee shop.
This place used to be awesome, but then it changed its hours and closes so early. This is a college coffee House and it now closes before the sun sets LOL. For many years, I would frequent this coffee house later in the evenings. I would buy some muffins and hot chocolate or something, and hang out with my laptop working remotely. It was great. There were many nights that I was there until they closed it midnight. Now, not so much. I was just checking again and they close tonight at 8 p.m. Seriously 8 p.m…. At a college coffee House in a college town :) Other than their location, and their old hours, there's nothing really special to report about this coffee house. Parking is terrible with a high risk of being towed in the area. On the other hand, their muffins were good :) I really hope they reconsider their hours. I would love to visit again on a regular basis, butt not if they are going to chase me out at 8 pm.
A very conscious way for a new life, the ppl. There are great bunch example of ppl....
Great coffee house. Best frappuccino in Wichita
Independent, locally owned Coffee House with a great atmosphere. Lots of different rooms to hang out. Comfy overstuffed chairs. This place gives great support to the recovery community.
Amazing coffee and amazing atmosphere. I love stopping in to relax after work. Jennifer and Lindsey always make sure I leave in the best possible mood. 20 out of 10!
We were visiting family from out of town and stopped by for some coffee. Very welcoming atmosphere, the drinks were great, and all of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
A great place to meet for recovery.
Great coffee for a great cause! This is one of my favorite coffee shops. I really love having the ability to meet with friends or study alone in a private room upstairs instead of out in the open. It contributes greatly to the casual, homey atmosphere. The baristas are great, and all of the profits go to a local charity.
Highly recommended! Great coffee and service.
It's the best place to go for coffee and it's v very classy!!!
I've been visiting Common grounds for the last 5 years and even though it's been through some changes, they have still kept the same menu and atmosphere. I always get a grasshopper or mudslide and they are delicious Everytime!
horrible
Great atmosphere and coffee!
I love how comfy this place is
I'm extremely dissatisfied with how the common grounds are now, it used to be so cool. It used to have a lot of cool graffiti and art on the wall, that's what made it the Common grounds after all! Even more so I can't go up stairs to study anymore with my friends so I most likely won't come here again.
This is just a coffee house, a really good one, but nothing trendy and fabulous. That's what I like about it. There are separate rooms, quiet tables, and good coffee. Perfect for students or conversation with friends. No, they don't have professional performing Baristas's , but they have friendly servers. If you want something fancy, go somewhere else. But if you like coffee and quiet times with friends, it's a great place for that. Plus!... occasional amateur music.
This is the best coffee house in town
Comfortable old house style coffee shop. Great place to sit for a short or long period of time.
Curious coffee shop, the sort that appears overnight, but then has always been there. May contain students. Nice n Quiet. Has an only mildly hyped foo food menu. Good for a meet and greet. Beware the local Lexington parking trolls, they love to ruin anyones day, so do not feed them. Enjoy!
One of my favorite places to do homework. But can be kinda noisy.
Always friendly prompt staff. Peaceful environment. Fair prices. Best selection of coffee and sandwiches and home made baked goods.
Friendly, safe, clean, sober environment with great coffee and conversation.
Great overall experience. Food is affordable and delicious, as is the coffee. Helpful staff in a cozy and homey environment.
Coffee was good but so disappointed with their food. Got a panini to go but it wasn’t pressed and overall just didn’t taste good. It was kinda pricey too so I couldn’t let it go
It's perfectly fine if you're walking or driving by anyways. The coffee isn't the best in town by any means, and they've raised the prices on what was already incredibly expensive sweetened coffee garble. I usually get the iced honeybee, but had to quit getting any of the specialty coffees because the staff makes them sickeningly sweet for my tastes. The staff is pretty nice though. So there's that.
I liked this coffee house a lot. Seems like the only one in the area. Cool vibe, has 3 sitting areas. They have sandwiches, and sweets along with coffee and tea. I got the honey bee and I really enjoyed this flavor. Was only in town with the weekend but went here twice! I also hear the have musicians play there from time to time. Nice spot!
coffee was great
Great coffee...great people...great food
It's good just dont know what to order, its pretty new to to me, but good service.
Love this shop & the house brew!
This is one of the only places in Lexington where I can come for a nice cold brew coffee while wearing Crocs without feeling judged. The amount of comfortability I have of this place is awesome. Oh, and their hummus platter is delicious!
Pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious coffee. Also a great study spot. Would definitely recommend!
Good coffee and great entertainment
Genuinely cozy atmosphere with a plethora of new and unheard of coffee options
I was kicked out by management because of a personal judgement
Best coffee in lex!
Cool, eclectic place, with some interesting art on the walls. A menu that you will find something to fit your needs. That includes a good selection of food and other drinks, not just coffee. All of my meal was tasty, portions were good and the price was reasonable.
This is a hidden gem of Wichita! A great place to meet with a friend or two for a quiet, cozy place to chat! I'm so thankful for this wonderful place. They also have a great selection of drinks, sandwiches, and desserts. Gluten Free friendly as well!
Great coffee shop, feels like home. Great for meetings. Loving the NiceBites vegan food options - wonderful cinnamon rolls!
Good coffee. The place was really dirty and the service people were more interested in their own conversation that customers. I don’t like Starbucks coffee, but at least the staff there cares about keeping the place nice. The owner here has decided they’re making so much from their customers - that’s where it begins and ends. Check out the photo - there was no trash can present. So the counter was the trash can. The register was spattered with dried up coffee.
First of all, the flavored coffees are delicious and I also recommend the chicken salad sandwich and the potato salad. Yumm! There are aprox 7 rooms with comfortable upholstered furniture, also small tables and chairs, in which you are able to have small gatherings. I also like the staff they are friendly and don't mind answering questions and making suggestions. I love that they tell me about the types of coffee they offer.
This shop is very nice and cozy. It is a casual and relaxed setting. You can get breakfast and lunch there but I have not tried it yet. They're lattes are good. I highly recommend getting an soy latte. It is awesome! Also, a chocolate muffin never hurt anybody.
Great coffee stop! First visit to Lexington. Common Gounds and the guy that made my latte definitely made my morning exceptional. And an abundance of awesome syrup flavors
Very friendly. Wasn't wowed though.
It was a great place to get some work done while enjoying a fresh cup of coffee. The staff was friendly, and the baked goods were scrumptious. The decorations and seating made the space comfortable and somewhere I'd want to hang out at often.
Love that you can sit privately in your own space, but you do have to get lucky for a room! Great cinnamon rolls!
Good coffee. Nice place. Good atention to the customers.
New owners. Seem to be able to keep the internet up and temperature at a reasonable level.
First off, this is not my preferred coffee house. I received a gift card to CG a while back. I decided to use it last week and was informed that the gift card system had changed and that I would have to call someone to see about transferring to new card. When I called I was informed that there was nothing they could do since they switched ownership and no longer have access to the system. I was told that they had signs posted to inform customers but in this case made no difference since I don't go there. The latte that I did get on the day that I was told my gift card wasn't valid was mediocre at best, stale coffee, and weak flavors. There are much better coffee houses in Lexington to go to.
Good coffee at good prices, nice atmosphere.
Love the employees! Matt is fantastic as are the other Barista's. The atmosphere is also top notch.
Great rustic feel and environment. Good for getting work done, great for coffee dates.
Love this peaceful shop with great coffee, snacks, lunch options and a wonderful place to relax with good friends!
Friendly place
Great place for coffee and the food is surprisingly good. Nice place to get some work done.
My new favorite location in Wichita! Super cozy with all of the rooms and couches, makes this place perfect for catching up with friends or doing your homework! They offer FREE WIFI! And, they have a pretty good latte. =) I grew up in Wichita, and never heard about this place until a few days ago. This coffee house is the best kept secret in Wichita!
Drip coffee is great. First refill is free. What more could you want?
Very good cappuccino, house blend coffee is real good
it's a really nice and quiet place to read, hang out with friends and chill. Coffee and food is alright but the atmosphere is what makes it so relaxing and chill
Common Grounds is on the decline. They took out the great upstairs hang out place. They removed the broken piano. They painted several tacky "murals" on the walls. Its a sad state of affairs
Very friendly, quality coffee, perfect atmosphere for hanging out with a friend and talking for hours. Lots of food, too. Give it a try... you might fall for the laid back-ness of it. Be careful not to park in the wrong place.
I am a weekly visitor, and I was surprised to see that someone wrote on here they didn't listen to his or her coffee order. Every time I go in I ask them to go light on the sweet stuff and use skim milk, and every time they oblige. The baristas are always friendly and pleasant. My only criticism is that the food orders can sometimes be very slow. I'd love to eat here more, but I am usually on my way to work and need to get there in a hurry.
LOVE this place, I go into work at 4 am every morn, the Hartland location is my life saver, I would not survive with out them!! Such a great group of employees, very friendly.
What a lovely place, I found my favorite coffee up there
I don't really know a lot about this place
Super cozy. Service was fast and professional. Coffee was on point and can't wait to go back. Plenty of seating and always busy. Thanks
Good coffee and cool place to hang out, but if you're looking to do homework it is loud and distracting.
Nice staff, relaxed environment. Restroom a bit so so.
Its a great place to unwind and go to a meeting
Very homey, welcoming atmosphere. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and food is delicious. The owners are very kind and the seating is beyond comfortable. Perfect place to study and hang out with friends.
Best chai tea lattes. Not sure if they’re still doing live music or open mic anymore but back in college days they did and it was so cool! The food is so amazing and this place is just so nice. If you haven’t been here it’s definitely worth your time and bring a friend or someone because the atmosphere is very relaxing you’ll just wanna sit back and talk and sip coffee for as long as you can.
Really good coffee and cozy
Love this place for food, coffee etc., and meetings
Awesome people and if its not too busy you can have your own quiet room. Love this place.
Common Grounds is my second home. I can crash into the big fluffy chair and knock back a delightful chai. Come find your own delight.
It's a very nice place, pretty groovy and I recommend it to the whole community of coffee drinkers
Good food, good coffee and good company
This place is awesome. I meet people regularly and there's always a crowd. It's lively and open for all walks of life
Love that they use mocha powder but espresso needs more punch
Coffee was good, but location is worn down. Steps in front need to be repaired, awning is torn. Interior was dirty and unorganized. Has the feel of a hipster coffee shop with a stage for performances. I would go back
Cute little place with reasonable price. Will definitely be back!
Great place, lots of room and little nooks to hang out in, but a bit loud.
Comfortable and pleasant environment, friendly staff and good coffee.
The absolute classic coffee shop of this city. Long live Common Grounds!
Great coffee, light breakfast, wonderful music choices and very welcoming staff.
Love this place!
Cozy local place, good coffee, friendly people, plenty of parking. A good atmosphere to study, do a little work, or relax.
Soothing atmosphere
Cool trendy coffee locale. Probably fine for most. They don't always carry a full menu, so may be hit or miss if you go in. Tried to order a cuban coffee but was told they didn't have the condensed milk to make it. Got something else. It was good.
Great coffee and food! The environment is awesome too, and the staff is always very friendly.
Cozy & good atmosphere
Great coffee house. Many hippies there as patrons
I really want to like this place, it’s within walking distance from my job, everyone was really nice, and they have great beverages but their food game isn’t as strong. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap for lunch and they said they were out of lettuce (bummer, but ok), and out of the side I ordered (double bummer). So I asked for chips instead. When I got back to work I opened the bag and there were Cheetos (not chips) inside, which I can’t eat. If I go back it will probably only be for coffee. I don’t know if they had a super busy lunch crowd, or they just don’t sell as much food as they do coffee.
Nice place & staff is friendly
Went there just for a look, and it has a really chill atmosphere to it.
Good coffee and food!
This was a really cool place. I'm around here quite a bit, but I didn't actually go in until today; I wish I had been here sooner. It is quite literally a coffee house, an old house turned into a coffee shop. It has several different furnished rooms to go into for studying, conversation, or ping-pong. The drinks were also excellent.
Awesome people!
My favorite local coffee place.
Great coffee as usual. Had an amazing grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. Met a friend here for lunch and we had a good time in a nice environment. Seating options were limited and seemed like their were more tables and not enough seats. Luckily we caught some folks leaving and nabbed a table and chair and then grabbed a second chair when another person left. So if you go during finals week, keep an eye out for open seats and tables because they are a hot commodity!
Private rooms for groups to use open all the time the house is open. Well done.
Worst Coffee Ever , IT is rally bad coffee , they do not know nothing about coffee. They use old and over roasted beans and on top of that they overheat the milk.
Great coffee, good food, and good service
I love this coffee shop! Brought a friend recently and she loved it too. The decor is hipster meets poor college kid. Many different rooms to hang out in. The coffee is fantastic! The scone was a bit bland, I could provide tips on that, but all in all. It’s great and I’ll be back.
Really cozy. Several semi private rooms. Above average coffee. Great place to study or get some work done.
Finally, a coffee shop that doesn't blast music. I am trying to study for an exam and went to so many coffee shops in Wichita but they were incredibly loud and crowded. Common Grounds is perfect, it has quiet rooms if you need to study or have a private meeting. So cozy and I love the decor. Will definitely be back, thank you!!!!
I love common grounds! It's my favorite place to study. The chicken salad is the bomb! And the staff is always so kind. Would definitely recommend!
Pretty cool place to hang out. My one small issue would be that no one seems to actually know the drink menu (or the recipes are not standardized). I order the same thing every time, and each person makes it a bit differently. NOT badly, just differently!
They have great coffee, 1 dollar refills and a relaxed atmosphere. Every employee I've interacted with is nice or at most not a mindless zombie. Hands down my favorite coffee shop in town.
Just. cool.
The Sumatra here is some of the best I've had, real bright and fruity.
Relatively typical coffee shop with local art decorating the walls, mismatched furniture, and cozy feel. The coffee was good - there is a bourbon flavored style which was terrific. The muffin was tasty but nothing special. The bathrooms were a little gross but Iwould certainly stop in again when in the neighborhood
The best
Peaceful
A great place to meet. Good coffee, food, informal
This place is nice! Loves it
Great, comfortable seating, good coffee.
Love this coffee shop! It’s so relaxed. I love the vibe.
Buy coffee from here every day. Cool staff.
Good Coffee and good vibes
Great coffee shop to grab caffeine, breakfast, and get work done! Extensive and tasty menu. I highly recommend the specialty coffees and the breakfast burritos.
Good coffee in a very comfortable space, best service in town.
Not anywhere near as good as a cup of common wealth or cherry seed. I was in town visiting and had all three in a 2 day span. The espresso macchiato was a full 16 oz-ish sized and probably better described as either warm milk or a latte. It's coffee, but the other options in town are good coffee.
Ya
Amazing service, friendly staff, and good environment. I'm giving 4 stare because although the espresso drinks are perfect, I'm not a huge fan of their drip coffee. Still highly recommend visiting Common Grounds!
Great coffee. Great staff.
A cool coffeehouse made out of a big old house. The staff is friendly, and usually there are nice people around. Definitely worth checking out.
Coffee was awesome had honey vanilla server was EXCELLENT
Love it
Love this place. The prices are very reasonable. The employees are nice and welcoming, there is one woman though who comes off cold and distant. I love the quietness and the privacy. Perfect for doing homework or work. There is free WiFi, just ask for the password. Parking is in the back, it's small; so if you have a larger vehicle; parking along the street would be best.
LOve it :)
The coffee and prices are good here. It's comfortable to hang out by yourself or with a small group. The have several upstairs rooms that offer more privacy for a small group meeting. The baristas are always kind, helpful and friendly.
They may or may not have good brewed coffee, but the espresso is the worst in town, even worse than the bean scene out west (and that was terrible). The coffee was the same price as the delicious brews of Reverie Coffee Roasters, but was horrible. We dumped our "Latte's" out as soon as we left and drove across the street to Reverie afterwards. Also the young lady running the place was rude and had zero customer service skills.
Nice people and friendly ,Great place
The coffee and smoothies are excellent and food is good....Staff is very nice..
Awesom place also has meetings there come join us
I got a cup full of sadness the last 5 times I was here...Yeah I'm done trying, this relationship isn't gonna work out.
Starting off, I found parking to be difficult to procure and had to drive around the block looking for a spot. However, the exterior of the building appeared historic so I excitedly anticipated a more artsy venue. The interior is more "thrift shop" decor. The potential to do more with decor is there but, with the strong college crowd who would notice or even care? I purchased a "hot" Chai Latte but received a lukewarm one from a marginally interested barrista. On the plus side, it is very quiet and I understand open mic on Monday is fabulous!
My favorite coffee shop in Lexington - awesome place. Pretty grungy, but they've started to freshen up the main room (for better or worse). Local art available for purchase is hanging on the walls of most rooms. Coffee is great, and the staff are superb. They offer soy and almond milk for those who are non-dairy. There is also a food menu, but I have never ordered from it.
Good but expensive.
Excellent service. Lunch menu is really great - the Greek salad with chicken is one of my favorites.
It is owned by 7th direction which is a drug an alcohol treatment place but common grown it self is a coffee shop that does na an as meeting plus I won a t dollar gift card from there it star I think I no personally
This moderate priced coffee shop is a great place to hang out, best kept secret in town.
This place has it all: good coffee and tea, good food, friendly staff, decent people watching, and it's in a really quirky old building. It's even got that "I'm in a cool coffee house" smell as you walk in the door. The only drawback would be the parking - if you're not very careful, your car will get towed. There are very detailed signs as to where it's safe to park, however, so you'll have that going for you.
My 2nd home lol
Great atmosphere, nice coffee. (House coffee a bit bitter for my liking, but others may love it.) The prices are reasonable as well. Should be on your list for a break from the mega corporate culture of a certain famous coffee chain... A nice place to send an hour or so...
Atmosphere was awesome. Relaxing
A great place to hang out, meet with friends, meet new people. Lots of rooms so a good place to get a little privacy if you want it.
Absolutely BEST place in town to relax, share in groups, or personal room to focus on just yourself, all while enjoying endless coffee and coffee cakes or cinnamon rolls. Yep! Common grounds has my vote 100%!!
Nice indie coffee place that seems to have been around for a long time. Glad to see these types of places outside of NY.
Good coffee and fun staff. Always good for a relaxing drink and a quite place to read or study. Recently under new management the coffee house is constantly being improved and has wonderful new espresso beans.
Love this place. Great to just hang out and chat, staff are friendly, other patrons are nice as well. Weekend spot for coffee and crafting with friends.
Laid-back atmosphere..Good coffee
No parking.
Great coffee. Enthusiastic staff and great little shop.
Enjoyed myself. The lady who worked there knew I was there to study, so she did her best to make sure the environment was quiet. It's great!
Good atmosphere, friendly staff, good coffee, and has good places to study or do paperwork
Nice drinks and a quiet atmosphere.
Nice
Great local coffee shop. Be careful about parking though.
Awesome and cozy place to get a cup of joe and just hang out. Jennifer and Lindsey are awesome baristas!
Great atmosphere!
Great place super clean beautiful house with friendly people.
Perfect coffee. If you just want to have you time, go there. If you want do some work, go there... If you just want to hangout, go there. And don't forget to ask for a coffee!
Liked it, but not Loved it. Service was a bit off seemed to me. Maybe just bad timing on my part...
Good breakfast menu and a quiet atmosphere in an old brick building
A lexington institution. great coffee and lattes. if you get the "honey bee" be ready to buzz for a few hours while you enjoy local musicians and open mike night.
Great, cozy coffeehouse. Perfect for visiting with friends and good coffee.

Much more earthy than national coffee shops. More like the coffee shop in my head.
Cozy and welcoming coffee shop. Lots of places for discussion, lounging, visiting. Quiet spaces and public places available. Good coffee, good service.
