This Coffee Shop corresponds to the category of Coffee shop.
A true gem from the day they opened thiscshop has it all great food, coffee, & staff. Try the American sweetheart while enjoying the local art featured monthly. Not to mention the random events such as live music and poetry readings.
They take time so make sure you have ot before ordering food but the wait is well worth it. They have the best grilled cheese and tomato soup!!
Pretty good coffee. Reasonable happy hour pricing in the afternoon for those of us that can handle this kind of a past mid-day charge.
Unique little coffee shop/restaurant on Mass St. It has a homey, local pub-like feel and obviously entertains many regular customers. I ordered a Black Forest Mocha, which was a bit too sweet for my taste, but the coffee itself was good. I didn't order any food, but the all-day breakfast smelled amazing. I would definitely consider returning.
I had buscuits and gravy a full order with two over easy eggs and a large Americas sweetheart latte . The latte was good unfortunately the buscuits and gravy with the two over easy eggs were cold and the eggs weren't over easy , was really disappointed.
I just love Amees! Breakfast any time of the day, if you like biscuits and gravy they are the best! Great coffee as well!
Love the coffee and salads!
Great food. Eggs made to order, cheesy grits with jalapenos. Awesome!
Customer Service was slow and they didn't seem to care. I felt bad for the one employee that was actually working while the other two stood around with a deer in the headlights look.
Great staff, great food, and incredibly interesting patrons.
I got a sandwich from there and had three layers. One half of sandwich had two layers of meat while the other had three layers. Not so good.
A small dining area and tiny kitchen, but they make the most of it with delicious breakfasts
Wonderfulness.
The atmosphere is pretty great here, the coffee's good too
The coffee!!! OMG It tasted like my hometown. This place is very nice, the light is perfect, no too bright not too dark. I really enjoyed everything.
Our waitress thought it was smart to hold hot plates without a towel or anything so she basically burned her arms on the way to our table and dropped some of our food on the floor, so we had to wait longer for that to be remade. The food was decent but not anything special, and most of it came out in good time.
I make it to this state and city more and more as the years progress and I ALWAYS enjoy breakfast at Aimee's. You should too! (White Rhino latte pictured)
Good coffee; nice staff; seating options could use some love
Love the biscuits and gravy
I absolutely love this place, it is truly a hidden gem in Lawrence. 10/10
Upbeat service, friendly, great coffee.
Great
Great coffee, teas, & lattes & awesome eats with excellent vegetarian options.
Very nice
Good!! nothing to complain!!
I love this place there like a 2nd family
Good food and kind staff
Absolutely amazing service and quality food. Personal recommendation: French Toast
Funky atmosphere, occasional live music, real Kansas crowd.
Carey is sexy
Been grabbing the best espresso shots near the Granada for years!
Best veggie biscuits and gravy in town. Cheapest breakfast and lunch downtown. Cozy as hell.
My first & will be my only visit. Customer service is ok. I didn't get a receipt (paid with credit card). My daughter wanted the Italian sub: they were out of the bread for that. The hot chocolate my daughter got was meant for some other lady. My daughter got her medium & she got my daughter's large. The biscuit & gravy was decent. The Almond Joy coffee was ok. Nothing special here
Great everything! Best of all is the community atmosphere. The Strongs are amazing people and wholeheartedly support diversity and everyone who spends time here.
Most authentic stop in Lawrence. Drop in for a coffee, or bring your appetite and have them make you some breakfast.
It's awesome!!!
I always loved stopping in on break from work. Friendly crowd and delicious cinnamon roll pull aparts.
The B&G with eggs was good. It's a nice setting. Pretty reasonable prices.
Excellent coffee, very reasonable prices on everything and the staff are all very friendly.
The best coffee and food and people in town!
Free WiFi. Lots of coffee selection at reasonable prices
Portions are very nice and the taste is amazing
It was a very pleasant atmosphere and amazing tasting latte.
Love Amiees's! Owner cares about Lawrence , offers top quality coffee and food. I highly recommend Aimee's and will be there often as I can!
an employee that was serving me, asked if I was ready to order, yet, once I started to place my order, he looked away and did not pay attention to me. A customer behind me started to speak, and he started to comply to them. Another employee saw my troubles but dismissed it. I had to wait a full 15 minutes to get his attention again, and he continuously asked what type of drink I wanted, even though I said it loud and clear. I love this place, but certain employees need to be trained better, please.
My friend and I both ordered the meatball grinder, we were sadly disappointed. The bread wasn’t anything special, it was soggy, and the meatballs weren’t impressive. The strawberry smoothie was repulsive, WAY too sweet. The atmosphere was okay but once again nothing special.
Aimee's used to be my go-to when it was on my walk to work (sadly no longer the case). The staff here is really friendly, and the space is cozy. If you're looking for a coffee shop that feels very home-y, this is the spot. They keep some books and toys for the kiddos too!
I LOVE Aimee's! Super fresh omelettes and friendly service.
Good.coffee and good people.
Great little coffee shop.
I grab breakfast there every time I'm in town visiting my KU student. Awesome food and atmosphere.
Aimee's is my favorite coffee place in town. It's cute, has great coffee, and the people are always chill.
A Cozy place to be!
So cute and fun! Very family friendly (they have this great little nook with kids books and games for the little people to enjoy while you finish breakfast). Definitely leans more on the diner side, but they have good coffee options as well. Can catch a good deal on their specials occasionally and they feature local artists which is a delight. Not really a great place to hangout and work on your computer or study - much more oriented around conversation and a shared meal.
Love this place!!! Food, atmosphere and the people! Love chatting with the regulars, baristas/cooks and the owner. Great place to study. Actually, wrote my Master's thesis at Aimees. Good place for friends. Feel safe and at home here. Wish they had a couch, though.
Coffee is my friend
Great place to meet for coffee or tea
We have been here twice and are thoroughly pleased with this beautiful, comfortable coffee shop! Excellent fare, excellent service! Love it
This place has heart. The owners are great people who support their community and make the best damn veggie biscuits and gravy in the country. Come for great coffee, stay for the atmosphere.
I absolutely love this place, solely because of the great food and great coffee. But Lord almighty. Service is ***slow.*** Truth be told, that's why i don't come around any more. It was never like this before, and i have no doubt that it can turn around. I definitely recommend coming here. Just... be prepared to wait 20 minutes to get your coffee. And maybe add an extra 10 for food.
Best breakfast burrito in town
Best god damn french toast on the planet.
The only place I have been that makes better gravy than I do. Delicious!
Great $ 1 coffee
Quaint!
Great local breakfastery, coffee shop. No pressure. Casual
This was the best food, service, and atmosphere we've had in Lawrence! It's a little hidden, cozy place on Mass street. Wonderful coffee, as well!
I go here almost every Sunday for breakfast, it is great.
The food here is excellent. The atmosphere is artistic and the building is rustic and historic. Many locals have breakfast here. The coffee is delicious and if you're drinking it at the coffee house, the cups are ceramic, not paper. The prices are extraordinarily reasonable. The only thing I can identify as something I wish they would change is that I prefer my coffee to be a bit stronger than what they serve. It is delicious, just a tad on the thin side. Certainly not enough to knock my rating down a star. Try it! You'll like it.
Aimee's is a wonderful place. Feels very homey and lovely
Awesome staff and service, and the food was great.
Good coffee and food. Nice people. Quiet place to work at a table or couch.
This place rocks, and not just because coffee and food are great. Did you know in the age of social media (where people at the same table text rather talk) there was an old-school coffee shop where people still communicate verbally? No, really! I've been in more good conversations than I can count in this delightful den of intellectual iniquity.
The owner is real friendly and kind, likes to spark up a conversation.
Unfortunately every time I visit the wait is far too long. At my most recent visit, after waiting 15 minutes for my coffee, they prepared the people's order that came after me first (though there coffees were more elaborate than my drink order) and I had to remind them that I was still waiting. The coffee taste is average and not worth the wait. Choose another coffee spot on Mass.
Excellent. Big portions can be split if you are dieting.Breakfast all day was extra special .
Yummy vegetarian gravy!
A warm and comfy atmosphere with good comfort food.
A good place to go when not in a hurry and get away from the hussel. Great omelettes!
Friendly staff, great selection of coffees and teas, plus they serve diner style breakfasts and lunches - comfort food. Nice quiet place to meet for a one on one business meeting and it's centrally located on Mass Street.
When they say they have been known 20 years for their biscuits and gravy, it is not a game. Biscuits and Gravy has got to be the best I've ever had besides my mother's, On God.
Love this place
My husband and I went for breakfast and if you don't mind partial wait on yourself you will enjoy the food and friendly service.. We enjoyed the eggs cooked just right and although I normally like bacon crispy it was yummy! Dave liked the sausage and hashbrowns. It's not our everyday choice but glad we tried it and will consider again.
The food was excellent, and they have games. My two year old daughter made good use of the play kitchen in the back of the restaurant.
Their corned beef hash was good; their waffles seemed a little lackluster. Both were fairly priced.
Relaxed coffee place with pastries and some food which they cook right behind the front counter. The staff are very friendly and the cappuccino was good 3/4 times I came here. The clientele is a good mix of people.
Fun place!
Took 47 minutes to get our fpod but it was one employee doing drinks, food, and register. We left happy but I was subsequently late to work.
Love the atmosphere, the coffees. Best biscuits and gravy in town.
Awesome coffee and food all for a super affordable price.
always fast, courteous, Mom & Pop coffeeshop cafe
Average. Slow service.
By far the BEST French toast you'll ever had. Grilled cheese & tomato soup Fridays are pretty good too.
Its was awesome
Great service, breakfast, lunch and other items come in huge proportions and are hand made and delicious. Best coffee and relaxing atmosphere with Wi-Fi
Lovely people, cool local business, great members of the community. Aimee's is always a great place to grab a bite.
Very good food, very good coffee. The best French toast in town, no question. The breakfast menu is a la carte and very reasonably priced. My only caveat is that I've been here half a dozen times and have had to explain how to make a cafe au lait to the staff each and every time. Other than that, it's fantastic.
Try the Farm Girl coffee. It's the best around!
The biscuits and gravy are magnificent! I'm trying to be cool about this and not go on and on, but I can't help myself. I love them! A half order with an egg on top is perfect. Really delicious breakfast, good people, cool little nook on Mass.
Cozy atmosphere in which to take a first date, delicious food, and the coffee was superb.
Nice quiet place to enjoy my coffee and have a conversation.
Great atmosphere, excellent coffee and food!
This is my favorite local coffee shop to relax and grab a bite. It's a very chill environment with a friendly staff that serves delicious to-order homestyle breakfast (and some lunch). Because of the setup wait times can be long, but it never keeps me from returning as often as I can.
Cute little spot. Love that they feature local artists!
Awesome breakfast and lunch food!
a true home away from home. I love this place
Best service, great conversations are had. They treat the folks with disabilities that I bring in weekly with great respect and have gone out of their way to get to know them and cater to their likes.
Great service, wonderful atmosphere.! Perfect place to sit an catch up with friends and family!
Nice, comfortable and homey. Good food.
had good breakfast
I visited for the first time today and then revisited. It is a good place for a coffee and a quick bite. Would definitely recommend for breakfast or sandwiches. The good thing is, you can buy a cup of coffee once and then you can refill as many times as you want. Isn't that great!
Heckin cool. Best coffee I've had for a long while. Very kind staff that treat you like an old friend.
Most of the food is frozen food that is just warmed up.
Great little place and if you're looking for a good breakfast, you'll have to give it a try. Kids love the french toast and the biscuits & gravy are great!
Great cozy place, very friendly staff and people in general it seems anyway. Good coffee as well and homemade type breakfast food looked really good.
In my opinion the best diner substitute in Lawrence. Unpretentious, friendly, and never too busy, I'm always happy with my order and the staff takes care of you well. Come to listen to locals chat it out, but stay for the potato salad.
Aimee's CoffeeHouse is an affordable breakfast and lunch spot that always has a traditional American food made to order. My personal favorite is the corn beef hash and eggs sunny side up with wheat bread, and black coffee. They include one refill with a house cup which is always nice. This is a relaxed environment in case you're looking to get a little work done. The sitting area is an open space, so it's not like there's any privacy, but the people mostly keep to themselves. Everyone puts out a friendly vibe. I've seen spoken word poetry events here in the past, but that was about a decade ago. I'm not sure if they still do that sort of thing, but they were fun the handful of times I stumbled into them. There are multiple sitting options that are good for groups from 2-8, 10 or more is taking the place over. Electrical outlets are available and conveniently placed. The wifi is good for basic browsing and even streaming video. The staff seem like interesting people and are willing to chitchat for the most part. They do a great job executing the menu. I've never had to wait very long for an order and they're all polite and well spoken.
Love this place!
I came here to meet with my Bible study group and we came right at 8am when they opened and it was a great, welcoming atmosphere. Customers started coming in and it didn't get too loud and the coffee was flowing. My biscuits and gravy were dry but the coffee is most delicious! Next time I'll try the breakfast burrito.
I'm a huge fan of their very affordable breakfasts.
Good espresso, home style breakfast, and a cozy environment. Aimee's is inexpensive, welcoming, and locally owned. I'll be back.
Friendly
Great on a budget! $1 infinite refill coffee
The biscuits and gravy were freshly microwaved and were shockingly rock solid. Was so full from the pieces that were edible that I had to get a whole other meal elsewhere. #whyyoudodis
Why havent I been going here all along? I don't know
I've always loved this place. Combines the best of community spirit, interesting people, with an approachable stimulating atmosphere, if you want. The food satisfying solid food, tasty with great coffee. Whats kept me coming back for years if the open and friendly atmosphere. It's like eating with your friends. I've not really found that anywhere else in Lawrence. IF you want solid, good food and a place that makes you feel like your part of the family, this is it. Other wise go to Starbuxxs or something and get factory coffee...
Best coffeeplace in Lawrence. They serve a mean breakfast as well. I love their black currant tea.
the atmosphere sells the place. it's always friendly and very homey.
On a nice April evening the door to Aimee’s Café was ajar, so my friend and I decided to enter and see what the café had to offer. Aimee’s is a small café located at the beginning of Massachusetts Street in Lawrence. The outside seems a bit worn down but it adds to the old fashioned look like the front sign. Its more spacious indoor seating makes up for the two tiny red wire tables located outside the door of the café. Immediately as you enter through the door there is a counter where you order to the right. Above the counter mounted on the wall were a few different menus that included coffee, barista drinks, breakfast, and sandwiches. On the left hand wall there is five whiteboards decorated with designs and Monday through Friday specials. There was only one guy working, which stunned me because although it was a weekday it is Mass Street, the busiest part of Lawrence. The customer in front of us was having a casual conversation with the worker as he made her coffee. He was welcoming, asking both my friend and I how are days were going and if we were ready to order. As I looked at the menu in search of what to order my friend decided to get the biscuits with gravy and eggs. Me on the other hand decided to try the French toast and an iced chai. After ordering and receiving my chai, we hesitantly took a look around and chose a table to sit at. Artwork made by children from the Lawrence community was displayed on the café walls. There were about ten tables in the café and two lounge chairs with a side table in between. A few tables looked as though they hadn’t been cleaned for a while, as there was remainder from the previous customers food. Each table had menus on them, which confused me since you order at the counter and a few condiments were presented on the table as well. It took roughly fifteen minutes for our food to be prepared but when the employee served us our food it looked very appealing. He apologized for the wait, as there were a few customers he had to take care of. He also asked me if I had ever tried the French toast and when I replied no he assured me I was in for a treat. The French toast came with three pieces all that looked freshly made and delightful. It was covered in what looked like honey and powdered sugar was lightly added on top. A small tub of syrup was on the plate, along with two slices of a fresh orange. My friend’s meal did not look as pleasing as mine. Although the biscuits were drenched in gravy and it was a darker color than what I typically see, the eggs looked fresh and as she popped the yoke it came pouring out like it should. I took what the employee said lightly, but as I took my first bite of the caramelized and warm French toast my tastes buds were overfilled with joy. I immediately poured the contents of the syrup on my meal and began to devour it. I offered my friend a taste and we exchanged a forkful of each other’s meal. She agreed mine was flavorsome and I was fast to reply with the same reaction to her biscuits and gravy. Although they may have not looked as appetizing as my French toast, the warm gravy and the soft biscuit tasted so delightful it almost made me wish I ordered it myself. As we finished our meals we were a bit unsure of what to do with our plates before we left Aimee’ Café. We chatted about if we were supposed to leave the contents on the table for the employee to pick up or if there was a place we take them to. I noticed a couple grey tubs placed on the wall that we walk by on our way out. As other cups and plates were placed in the tubs we decided to set ours there and left the café. Overall the food, atmosphere, and first time experience at Aimee’s Café was satisfying. Although there was a bit of confusion at the end, I would confidently rate this Café a 3.5 stars out of 4.
Very nice folks; I got a drip coffee to start off a road trip, and they offered me soymilk on the house, as I mentioned that I couldn't drink regular milk.
Good food & friends. Toss in some red beans & rice for Fat Tuesday, see some local art.... What more do you want! Cheers
Really great Brownies!
The coffee bar is limited in space and the coffee flavor tends to be the same. Last time I did the drip coffee and was a little disappointed. The environment is quaint and there are a couple of outdoor seats. Never busy so you can almost always order right away.
