All time favorite place to go! I have been eating at this restaurant since it was a little taco truck that first started. It is totally amazing. I have tried most things on their menu and have my favorite go tos such as their steak tacos, sopes, burrito supremes, but it is all great! The only place in the Cedar Valley that has truly authentic fresh food. It is a family ran business, they are all amazing, and the meat you can get in the grocery stores is epic to make your own steak tacos. They will even season for you!

If you want Mexican street style Tacos, this is the places to go in Waterloo/Cedar Falls area. The new renovation is a nice update and another selling point for this restaurant. Though pork and steak tacos are amazing, try out lengua/tongue which was really good.

It used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant, but since the remodeling, the customer service over the phone is terrible... I was trying place an order and in the middle My order, two of the employees started talking. They never said hold please, and didn’t ask if my order was complete... so I ended up walking in to place my order while I was still on the line. The food was done in a timely manner, but she assumed I was dining in and to eat 3 different orders... she never asked if it was to go... which it was.. so she ended up throwing my food in to go boxes... My steak was chewy, my fries were soft and had no seasoning... my boyfriend said his tacos were too soft. And, the taco plate price was raised an extra $2.50... La Placita has crispy, seasoned, steak meat... and the taco plate is under $6 whereas La Michoacana taco plate was close to $8!!!! I’m just all around disappointed.... Im no longer recommending this as my favorite restaurant...

Inexpensive, excellent, authentic Mexican food. People that work there are great too. They bring it out as it is freshly prepared. And they do that fast considering it's cooked to order. In response to a persons 3 star review before, This isn't your american restaurant where they prep a table for 8 and bring it at once. Go to a chain restaurant for that. Chapala's is excellent too for great food and large tables.. But La Michoacana is more authentic, and a great different experience.

Got our order wrong, tried calling them but no one answered. So had to drive all the way back down there from Evansdale because we asked for American tacos and they gave us Mexican. So we asked for new tacos I'm mean they were covered in onions. Well all they did was covered up the onions with the American ingredients smh not a happy customer, not happy at all

I am not sure how this is one of the best rated Mexican restaurants in Waterloo. It was horrible. The food we were served was very cold and te enchiladas were covered in a sauce that was downright disgusting and inedible. The service was poor and unfriendly. I strongly recommend that you find a different restaurant if you are in the mood for Mexican food.

What a selection! Every type of meat is available including goat. Tacos are simply meat and cilantro with sauce. Quality ingredients. Will be back to try the many other plates. Dining area is sparse with cafeteria style seating.

Great place if you're Hispanic. I watched today as two black customers and myself(caucasian) waited nearly an hour for our food while every Hispanic customer was immediately served within 10 minutes. Use to love this place, shame to see racial issues play a part in your business. I won't be returning.
