The Italian cannoli crepes were fantastic! Another dish was a cheesy bacon egg crepe, delicious as well. We got the BLT to go with fries - they give you everything you'd need and the fries were very crispy and good seasoning. Service was great! It was clean and friendly there.

I always ask if they will bring my pancakes out first because I have worked there and know they sit under the heater most of the time until the other food is ready. Unfortunately my pancakes are rarely warm, but the food is always great and most of the time the service is pleasant.

Went today took 20 minutes to get a dirty table then watch 4 people seated after us get their food and pay and leave while we still just sat there. Finally brought 1/2 our order and seemed surprized there should be more. Got up left and will never go back.

Very well managed IHOP. We were seated promptly, service was on point. I highly recommended the Colorado omelette which is my "go to" there, the assortment of fruit in my wife's fresh fruit side dish was great, particularly since it's "off season" for several of the fruits they used which were fresh and flavorful. For a chain restaurant, IHOP is great!

I have been here a couple of times now and I am changing my rating from okay to I liked it. They are very consistent here with the food. I have never had a bad meal just good. The service is good but what I really like is the level of customer service you get here. If you have a problem with your dish they make you a new one or different one depending on your situation no questions asked. I will continue to come here.

Easy location to find right off the highway. We arrived at 10am on a Tuesday and the place was packed! But the friendly staff still got us seated quickly and we had our food less than 10min after we ordered. Great food, great staff, decent prices, and a great variety. Have breakfast here most Saturdays and they are always busy. Little known secret is they will let you call ahead. As long as we do that we are able to walk in and have a table in under 5 minutes. Service is always fast and pancakes come out hot and fluffy!

The servers were entertaining! The food was good. The signature omelette was delicious and the endless pancakes filling. There are five types of syrup, old fashioned maple, blueberry, strawberry, boysonberry, and Carmel syrups. Lines often form but there are plenty of seats for those who are waiting.

We were seated immediately but waited at least 15 minutes before I flagged someone down to even take our drink order. Granted, the restaurant was busy, but we were not even acknowledged by anyone once we were seated with menus in hand. Another 20 minutes before our food was served. My husband returned his soft drink as "awful" and switched to ice water. Other food was good

IHOP has been a positive experience every time I have gone there. The menu changes often enough that you can get a new special every time you go and the prices are very reasonable. My one complaint is the cleanliness of the tables. I don't like to sit down at a table and have it still covered in food(which has happened once), but I also don't want to sit down at a table that looks like it has just been sprayed with a hose(which happens a bit more often). After you wash a table, it would be great if you could dry it off.

I took my 4 year old son here for a little lunch date and the food was great. The place was filled but we still had our food within minutes. We came during the special of all you can eat pancakes. We ordered a combo, and half way through I told my waitress that we would be wanting more pancakes. We finished our meal and waited another 10 mins, and couldn't find our waitress. We just paid our bill at the front and left.

This has become a family treat on the weekends from time to time. There is usually a good wait, but they definetly know to get people in and out. The food is great. There butter pecan syrup is amazing. Waiters/waitresses are always great as well.

If I could give this IHOP zero stars I would. They need to fire most of the servers and the kitchen staff and start fresh! Otherwise they might as well just close the doors and file for bankruptcy! We were kind and cordial to the whole staff as we always are, and they ignored us, never asked if we needed anything or if the food was okay, and our server came by and tossed out bill on our table and said "There you go" before she went and sat down to visit with customers she clearly knew. Slip this place at all costs!

I'm thinking of all the other places in the area and I dont think there is a better place when it comes to breakfast. I love their pancakes and omelettes! They are always amazing! Barely get waited on as the person sets you there and then comes back ten minutes later and then messed up your order even when you are specific as hell and comes back like it's exactly what you said. No shame either. Then leaves you alone till you leave. Pretty cool!!

This experience very easily could have been a 1 - 2 star if there was ANY problem with our food. But the food itself was excellently prepared (for what you'd expect from IHOP) but our server 10043 Maria R. Was absolutly horrible as a server. She was rushing our order, (asked us twice if we were ready to order before we even got our kid into the high chair) and then was extremely inattentive during our meal. She literally made eye contact with me and walked away when i was trying to get her attention to get a drink. She waited until i was almost done with my food to bring the check and ask if we needed anything. And when we ordered the drink she shoved the receipt back in her pouch and walked away. It wasn't just us either. 2 other tables voiced concerns about her not being attentive.

Service was very slow, seemed to be short staffed. No apology for the 35 minute wait for our food. Server was pleasant and nice. Food was good for the exception of my wives blueberry pancakes that she asked to have no whip and compote, there was no whip but the compote was still put on. There solution was to take it behind the counter and wipe it off and try and give them right back to her. She asked to have them remade which they did. Just Seemed to be an off night.

IHOP has a special place in Ankeny in that it has great pancakes and great people, but also is a chain restuarant. That combination is hard to find and even harder to perfect but here it made the Cheeseburger Omelette and Mexican Tres Leches Pancakes that much better. Loved the place, A1.

Averagely this is a good place to eat except for the server. Though my family don’t need any free food, but we thought she should have enlightened us like she did to other guests on their arrival that kids eat free. She didn’t tell us or give us this information on our arrival until after we already done eating and paid for our food and about to leave. I was only just magnanimous to tip her $5 on top of our check as she deserved nothing.
