We sat at the bar and ordered the fish tacos with a couple of beers. The beer was cold and the food was good, however the bartender had a large group and we never saw her again. Since we were unable to order another drink, we decided to go elsewhere. I had to stop a waiter from the dining area to ask for our tab.

We came here for our anniversary as we got married on NYE last year. We made reservations about a week prior. A day before our reservation, a woman called from the restaurant to state that they will have a limited menu and that there was a $90 minimum. This was fine but we were frustrated because we had already picked out other options from the full menu. Once we sat down for dinner, we realized it was a $90 fixed menu PER PERSON! $90 minimum is a little different than $90 per person... the portions were extremely tiny. We paid $20 for ONE crab cake at the bar before dinner because we had no idea it was $90/person once we sat down for dinner. The food was good but we are very disappointed with the misinformation. We will not be back. There are several other seafood options in Indy that have better food with better pricing.

There's no price high enough for the royalty of service and food. Serving portions are plentiful, and the atmosphere is opulent. I took my wife to dinner for her birthday here and the menu featured her name with "Happy Birthday". A perfect touch from a classy restaurant.

Beautiful atmosphere. Food very pricey for portion size and over all flavor. Best part of meal was the very small 6oz. Filet mignon priced at $37. Sides were not as tasty actually sent one back to be removed from bill due to a heavy burnt taste that was explained as a grilled taste.

Portions were small for the price. 45.00 dollar lobster barely had any meat in it! Salmon portion were small and the a la cart sides weren't very warm. The scallops were also very small. It was our Thanksgiving dinner and we were disappointed! Allen was our server!

If you can afford the treat, this restaurant has an amazing atmosphere, extremely knowledgeable staff, an extremely wide variety of fresh seafood that is flown in daily. I had concerns that some family wouldn't be able to enjoy the seafood, but they partner with the local steakhouse. I had the pleasure of enjoying the Fillet Mignon Steak. I was worried about the small portion but was pleasantly surprised, and by far one of the best cuts I've ever had!

Went there for Oysterfest on November 4. A sad spread with way fewer offerings than in past years; looked as if they had thrown in the towel. Very embarrassed because I really talked this event up to friends and convinced them that the $85 per person price tag was worth it. How so very wrong I was. I expected so much more for what I paid. Will not be returning, ever.

My wife and I shared our 54th wedding anniversary at the Oceanaire in late July. It was the most memorable dinner experience we can recall. The food, service and atmosphere were outstanding. Our daughter found out where we going for dinner late in the afternoon and called Nathan, the Oceanaire General Manager to arrange flowers for our table. It was too late for a florist, so he took it upon himself to go out to design an arrangement. It was beautiful and placed on our table prior to our arrival. The photo is posted. Amanda was our server and treated us like royalty. This is a 5 star plus restaurant.

My favorite seafood restaurant in downtown Indy. Great food and wonderful service. It's not cheap, but for a special occasion you'll be glad you chose the Oceanaire. Valet parking makes it easy. Walking distance to many of Indy's best features.

I was very pleased with the menu. I started with the poke, and it was great. I would of liked it better if it was not already on a chip. I ordered the Sesame seared tuna for dinner. It was cooked perfectly, still cool in the center. I would like to see more choices for sides. I went with asparagus. Would of liked a rice or steamed vegetables. Overall I would recommend eating here.

The single greatest experience I have ever had at a restaurant the gentleman who waited on my girlfriend and I was amazing. If you go ask for Nick he made the experience even better and the food was impeccable. Oysters, Crab cakes, shrimp and filet we're all perfect!! Really superb food in a great setting with impeccable service. Everyone in our party of nine had a great meal and we all really enjoyed ourselves. I had Alaska oysters on the half shell with a lobster and steak and it was delicious. The fish is all caught in the wild. Our waitress was amazing, too!

Poor customer service from management and server did not leave a good impression for my first visit. The server did not keep up with me and my party. I reserved table for my Birthday party and had to pay for the reservation but when half the party didn't show, the manager Nathan made us move to a small table to serve other customers (his words) a hour in. At this point we had been served water and wine and were waiting for our food. We waited another 30 minutes for bread to be brought to us only after we asked. Finally the bread came at the same time our food arrived

We tried the Devour Downtown Indy prix fixe menu. I had calamari,salmon, and chocolate mousse. My husband had a Caesar salad, mahi mahi, and key lime pie. It was 38 a person and they have entrees for that price! I have cancer and not been able to work for 8 months. It was nice to treat my husband for an early Valentine's and Anniversary dinner. Our waiter, Allen, was great. We are definitely coming back.

disappointed this time......my family (4 adults) dine here on Christmas Eve or close to this date for the last 5 or 6 years. in the past the experience has been excellent BUT not this time. It started out bad as we were seated in the last booth next to the kitchen despite my request for a booth Or table in the main room close to the windows. Everything was SLOW...our drinks took 30 minutes to arrive and the one appetizer took 30 plus minutes AND dinner arrived about 2hrs after we sat down...our waitress explained about an hour before that our meal order was misplaced, misunderstood, or forgotten in the kitchen. our waitress was very nice. food was okay but not great! NOT WHAT I HAD EXPECTED FOR $500 meal...

Went for my wife's 30th and had a wonderful experience. Personalized menu along with complementary baked Alaskan for her birthday. Along with seating in a quiet area away from the main dining room. When we asked for suggestions and told the waiter what we like he asked the kitchen to prepare a meal not on the menu to suit our interest. Everything was perfect.

First time here to have lunch. Allen was very attentive and was an excellent waiter/ server. We ordered quite a few items to enjoy together, of course it was way to much for us to finish. Started with the crispy lobster cakes as out appetizer..... It was top notch the hight of our lunch... Then on to the main course, The King crab legs, along side we ordered the creamed sweet corn, Sweet potato, lobster mac and cheese, and the bacon steak. The bacon steak was a little tough, and the sweet potoatos were nothing special, but everything else was excellent. The 4 star should be a 3. (( cleanliness our booth was very very dusty along the back of the booth seats and all the wine class's were cloud. For a fine dinning place and for the price, the class's should sparkle)) but I'm giving it a 4 because the food was excellent and service was as well.

I Was getting ready to eat there, pulled up PAST the "valet zone" I had a long haired kid about 17 years old tell me that I was IN the valet zone, I showed him the signs on the meter posts and told home he was wrong, he then told me he would have my $60k Corvette towed in. I am a REGULAR at Oceanaire, I knew they would "correct" it, I was NOT mad or upset at them, but I was upset at their 3rd party parking company employee, so I stepped in and asked Allen, the assistant manager to go straighten out their valet, he IMMEDIATELY got RUDE, he told me "Mr. Howard SHUT YOUR MOUTH" and allow me to address the valet, he was RUDE, ARROGANT and COCKY!! Then I told him Nathan ( the general manager) would be told, as well as their DISTRICT or REGIONAL manager, he responded " do whatever you want DUDE" he referred to a very GOOD customer as DUDE!! I will NOT eat there again as long as Allen is there, and I will REVIEW to EVERY site possible! They are owned by Landry's and I will boycott ALL Landry's if they're going to keep inconsiderate and RUDE staff!! There's PLENTY of great Restaurants downtown Indy. I do NOT have to spend my money where I'm going to be mistreated and talked to like Allen talked to me!!

His selection of oyster varieties was delicious and the printed list to go with it made it entertaining as well. The menu with "Happy Anniversary" and the complimentary flaming desert were nice touches as well.

4 star food, 2 star service. Waitress lacked knowledge/explanation about dishes. Both dishes ordered were pretty spicy when nothing was mentioned about spice by waitress or on the menu. She seemed rushed despite the restaurant being largely empty on a Sunday evening. Entrees came out before the appetizer then were taken back until we were done with our appetizer. Not what I would expect for a 200 dollar meal for 2 people.

I had one of the best lunches of my life here. It is not cheap by any means, but the food is incredible. The Ahi Tuna is absolutely amazing. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but it is quite expensive so be prepared to spend anywhere from $20-$50 a person, at minimum. For three people ordering 2 appetizers, we spent over $200 including tip. I would say it's definitely worth the price though!

Easily the best surf n turf in Indianapolis. Easily the best seafood you will get in Indianapolis. No other place can provide this high quality seafood in Indianapolis, maybe even argue any other landlocked place. Our waiter was great, very professional, as well as leisurely. He did an excellent job, the cape cod oysters were phenomenal, excellent oysters. The surf n turf is arguably the best I have ever had. The lobster tail was incredible, the filet was an excellent cut. All in all one of the best meals I have had in Indianapolis. Easily beats charblue on Washington St.

Great service, awesome food. My first visit to this restaurant was to celebrate my birthday and the service and food was amazing. We were treated as kings. For your birthday, they printed a customized menu and each staff member signed a birthday card. They also offer a complimentary Alaskan Flambe ( I don't remember exactly the name). If there's something you are excited to try, ask your host if there's anything special that is not on the menu. We asked and got a fabulous grilled seafood plate (see photo). I will definitely recommend this place for anyone that wants to celebrate a special occasion or a date night.

Took my wife to the Oceanaire before the Pacers game. The waiter we had was excellent. It wasn't too busy as we had early reservations (515). My wife's Salmon was cooked to perfection (well done for her). I got the Red King Crab legs, which were excellent. The service was 5 star also. One of the top restaurants downtown. We got an appetizer, two entrees (king crab was 65), one side and two sodas for $150. You get what you pay for and we will be back in the future.

We went to the Oyster Bash last night, and we were very disappointed. We’ve been the last 2 years & it’s been great. This year was very small. Nothing up stairs, and desserts only came out one time. When they were gone, they didn’t replace them with anything but bad chocolate chip cookies. They didn’t have the choices that they usually have. Didn’t have the lobster Mac & cheese. They packed up the wine early too. The only thing good about the night was the band, Hit locker. They were fantastic. We paid a lot per ticket & had 12 people that we brought with us. Some came for the first time & it was a let down. Doubt they will come back next year. We love Oceanaire, my husband & I always choose it for our anniversary, birthdays or any other special occasion. Just very disappointing.

Really nice establishment. The ambiance was great. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. A bit pricey and seating was congested. But, I had a lovely time. Weekends is a mad house for traffic but there is a parking garage across the street. Valet costs less if you're staying longer than a hour.

I could not have been more impressed with the service and food quality of this restaurant. Everything I ate was incredibly delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The waiters and their staff were attentive and helped with any explanations that were needed. I will say, this is a special occasion restaurant for me as the prices are just too high to warrant going more than 1-2 times a year. However, if I could, I would go all the time!

Nice embiance but the food was cold and late. $45 lobster was entirely too small for the price. The size of each of the sides we're very small. Barely enough for two people. Nantucket Bay scallops came out much later than the other 4 people at the table and we're not hot. Salmon serving was small. Steaks we're good but the fact that this was a seafood restaurant kind of makes it a misnomer. This restaurant is owned by the same company as Morton's. I certainly expected better than what we received. Allen was our server was okay but had to ask for refills on all beverages, including wine. Skip this place and go to Morton's, better food, always hot, good serving size, and better service.

This will be odd for this store. The waiter was good enough to warrant 3 stars. The store is pretty pricey and the ambiance is perfect for a special occasion or business meeting if your expense account can handle it. BUT, my wife took me there to celebrate my birthday. I know this was a difficult choice considering the cost. I actually did not eat my meal beyond a bite and got full on the bread. The waiter, although good and attentive, never asked me how my meal was (hence only 3 for him). So, no opportunity to ask what was up with the terrible fish. Anyway, I did not want to make my wife feel bad by initiating a conversation about my Mexican Sea Bass. However, when she saw the leftovers in the fridge for the 3rd day she remarked 'the food wasn't very good this time." I said no it wasn't. It was horrible. We have enjoyed the food here before although we do not go often. I told her I didn't want to make a scene. She said I have her permission for this review. The fish was very dry to be Sea Bass from any waters (I actually think it was cod). The asparagus was mushy (which I can live with) but tasteless except for the attempt at blackening it. Plenty of charcoal taste. I still have it in the fridge because I can't bear to throw out considering I ordered and paid for a full portion (salt to my wound). It was expensive. I came home and eat a bowl of vegetables because the bread wore off. I'm hoping we hit on a bad day although I am definitely reluctant at taking another $120+ stab at it. On that day we probably should have stuck with Bone Fish grill and their Sea Bass... :(

One dollar oysters on Sundays! This is the best deal in Indy in its own right, but Oceanaire's are some of the best oysters in town to boot. Service has always been solid for us and the food is always spectacular. Our latest visit included ribeye, lobster tail, octopus, and many raw oysters.

My friend had a reservation for her birthday. They personalized the menu for this (They deserve 5 stars just for that ). The bald headed server is just the best . He brightened our night . He helped us choosing a drink and even customized our meals . About the price , $30 won’t do

This restaurant is one of the best in Indianapolis. The ambiance is great with a unique throwback and nautical design. The staff is professional and well trained. They understand the menu, respond to the customer, and are timely. The food is excellent. The menu is well presented. The ribeye steak was soft enough to be cut with a butter knife.

It was horrible! All Non caucasians were downstairs and all people of color were upstairs including blacks and Asians. When we left it was the same occurrence! This establishment is definitely racist. Upstairs color and downstairs causasions
