I arrived at 915 pm and according to the website the establishment is open until 10 pm. I waited in line until 930 at which point an employee informed me that due to short staff they were closing early. I understand that with a short staff, they may have needed to close earlier than 10 to allow for enough time to clean up and close up. At no point during the fifteen minutes of waiting did an employee speak up and tell me that they needed to close earlier. It was only when I got to the counter that I was informed of the staffing issues. Tl;Dr poor customer service, arrived 45 minutes before close, waited for 15 minutes, and still didn't get to place an order.

This is a really cool concept. You select your ice cream and toppings, and it is made in front of you. The cream options are great! Vegan and lactose free choices are part of what makes this experience special. Now, when I say that the dessert is made in front of you, that's exactly what I mean. The mixing bowl is sat into an opening and its blasted with nitrogen! Cool stuff! (No pun intended) The finished product is pretty good and the portion size is generous. A definite treat.

It’s a fun place to get ice cream! I recommend getting their original blend. They have frozen yogurt, custard, sugar free and other options to choose from for the base. My favorite so far is the original base. They have these great menu of flavor/mix options or you can order ideas they have. I typically order the ideas they have listed on the menu. The staff can be very pleasant or typically teenagers working their part time job. You get a different level of customer service each time you go in. But the ice cream is great and the truest form of customization!

If you are looking for a unique ice cream experience, look no further. Nerds and foodies alike will enjoy the experience. They also have vegan options if you don't/can't do dairy (not as good of an experience, but still an option). Lines can be long on a nice day, but we make it a point to go there when we are in the area.

This is a neat little ice cream shop. It had lots of choices of flavors and mix ins. They freeze your ice cream with liquid nitrogen, very cool! However, they could definitely use to improve customer service. The workers were not friendly. They barely spoke to you, because they were too busy talking to one another. I said thank you to the lady that rang me out and she basically ignored me. The workers are very indifferent to the customers and it kinda kills this cool ice cream experience.

What a cool concept (no pun intended) and a really tasty product. We went late afternoon and had only a short line, however when we walked back the line was out the door! Super popular. Sub Zero has great options for every dietary need and it is definitely a treat to watch them make the ice cream; worth a visit for sure. Their specialty flavors make choosing easier, but they do offer a huge variety of flavors and mix-ins if you want to build your own ice cream.

I didn’t understand what the hype was about, so my husband and I decided to try. Service was alright, ice cream was alright, the hour and a half wait in line was definitely not worth it. They do have a lot ton of options to choose from rather it be a custom order or their combinations on the menu. I’d say if the wait is longer than 5-10 minutes don’t waste your time. I was thinking it’d be something amazing or taste or even look something close to spectacular but it was nothing fancy, I’ve had way better I’ve cream/ yogurt from other places.

I love their ice cream but beware of getting charged twice! I was charged twice and when I called to get it taken care of, my number was taken down twice and no one got back to me for 5 days. I finally called back again and the manager answered and said she would look at the transaction history and call me back. Never apologized for all this and was very dry. She called back hours later and said she only saw one charge and need my bank statements. I emailed the statements and she replied telling me that there was a flaw and I would have to be refunded in cash. I live 30 minutes away and I work a lot, so I would have to find a time that she would be working to drive all the way downtown, pay to park, just to get one of the two charges refunded in cash. I am so annoyed with this situation and I will be calling my bank to dispute both of the charges now. Check your bank statements!!!!

This was my first time trying nitrogen ice cream. I ordered the vanilla ice cream and added cookie dough and chocolate syrup to it. I was pretty excited to try it but to be honest, I didn't really think it was the best ice cream I've ever had in my life after eating it. It was about the same as your average ice cream place, in my opinion, and not too bad for the price (a little over $5). Most of the workers here were pretty friendly.

The issue I have is it can be a bit pricey and I didn't feel that the quality matched the price. This place is beyond amazing! They can make a custom ice cream flavor for you, freeze it with liquid nitrogen in front of you (which evaporates and will cause no harm to you) within a minute, and voila! Not only is it incredible to watch the process, but the price couldn't be better! I think it was $7 for a large and that was a LOT of ice cream. Definitely worth stopping. They have vegan and sugar free options too.

Terrifyingly delicious. The incredibly brave staff work so nonchalantly with the liquid nitrogen that it's legitimately cringe inducing. If you have kids, this place is awesome! Even if you dont have kids, it's really cool to watch the staff make your ice cream from scratch. I had the mocha flavored ice cream with chocolate chunks as a mix in. I thought the flavor was just right, no too bland or not too sweet. I recommend this place for all ages, great dessert.

I have been through Indianapolis twice in the last month and both times I tried to go a few minutes before 10 they had the closed sign up and wouldn't let me in to get one ice cream. Literally twice in a month and I don't live in this city. I met the guy who started this in Provo Utah years ago and it's such a bummer that on a Saturday night they wouldn't serve anyone before they actually had they're closed time posted. Get your stuff together and run your business properly or change your hours to reflect when you really serve ice cream

If you're willing to pay more money for the experience then this place is a must. It's pricey but worth it. They have options for non-dairy, vegan, or gluten free. The ice cream is creamy and delicious and you can customize it with just about anything you could ever want in your ice cream. Watching the fog roll over the counter as they freeze the ice cream right in front of you is almost as fun as actually eating the ice cream. The employees seemed a little uninterested, but it was 8:30 on a gorgeous Friday evening and they were slammed with people waiting on the sidewalk to come inside. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because I've also worked customer service and when it's that busy you're mainly focused on serving the customer as promptly as possible so you can keep the line moving. I would definitely be willing to come back!

Was excited by the unique process and dairy-free / vegan offerings. Saw the line was massive but decided to enjoy a nice relaxed night and go for it. When I chose soy, I was immediately concerned by the consistency of the base - and by the huge amount of syrup put into it. There was just way, way too much syrup. The ice cream had a somewhat decent though sticky consistency when frozen - but it very quickly melted into a syrupy gelatinous goop. I had to dump half of it. It upset my stomach it was so damn sugary. (I got vegan mint and dark chocolate.) I would NOT ever recommend this ice cream. 10/10 times you would be better off buying literally any vegan ice cream at the store. The only thing that made this semi-worthwhile was the experience... but the product is just sad. My husband who is a peach-anything-fiend did not enjoy the peach with peaches. It doesn’t get simpler than that. Overall just super disappointing.

We went in on warm, sunny Saturday. The line was a little long but it moved very fast. This was the first time I had taken my guest there and they weren't sure what to do. I was buying so I told them to get a medium size cup, more than enough for the price. They were amazed how something so thin at the beginning turned into a nice cold solid desert. Would I go back? YES! Do I recommend? YES!

My family enjoyed our ice cream choices: raspberry, amaretto with chocolate flakes, and fudge with Kit-Kat pieces. This place was similar to Coldstone, but instead of the titular coldstone, there is liquid nitrogen providing the chill, quickly freezing the cream.

The kids love the experience. The treats are decent. However, I'm not too keen on how solid the fruit gets with the nitrogen. It comes down to preference really. So to give them a bad review because I don't prefer it, wouldn't be fair. The ingredients taste quality and the experience is cool for the kiddos. We'll be back. Give it a try.

This is probably not the first place you want to go if you just want ice cream but, it's perfect if you want something different or if you're going on a date. I think the prices are reasonable just because of that. I don't believe it was meant to be a casual ice cream place, I think you pay for the experience, and that's not to say it's expensive, it just cost a little bit more than the average ice cream place.

The ice cream was great. The cream is poured into a metal bowl followed by then ingredients. The bowl is then hit with a few blasts of nitrogen which makes it freeze. I had the #8 mixed berries and coconut chips with a waffle. It was deliciousness in a bowl. I rate it 4 stars because there was a long line and wait. However, it was worth it.

What a treat! they make ice cream right in front of you. think cold stone creamery but fresh! The price is ok, when you get to start doing a few add ins the cost goes way up. When I visited it was not super busy and we had a place to sit inside. The staff just seemed to be barely mentally present though.

Well it's a fun show to watch the ice cream all come together, but the flavors just didn't do it for me. Had pistachio and it was bright green and just has a very fake/artificial tasting flavor to it. Friend had dulce de leche and it was just okay. Not super creamy, not rich with flavor...just okay. Meh. Def. Not worth the almost 7 bucks i paid. The waffle cone was decent though. Obviously it's all a matter of taste. I'm old-school and nitrogen ice cream is definitely not to my taste.

Sub Zero is an incredible concept! Liquid Nitrogen is used to instantly freeze the cream and it becomes ice cream! They do this all in front of you which is a very cool experience. Not only is the process cool...the ice cream is very good. Line is usually out the door so get there early, especially on the weekends.

So officially yesterday was our second time going here.......unofficially our third time. This past summer my boys and I waited in line so long that we had to leave as they had to be in bed. The lines are really long especially if you habe no clue as to what you want and the possibilities are endless. Maybe its too many options......you be the judge. My boys and I like this place and I typically like to try new things but they stick with cookies and cream and my four year old loves gotten candy (Dairy Queen in summer). The prices typically run about $15 bucks for the three of us. Winston is the best. Great smile and is always patient with me as I take forever ordering (don't judge me). Check them out for a fun and STEM driven treat.
