Walking in, each table was seat-yourself with a staff member quickly greeting us bringing by menus. Staff was knowledgeable, kind, helpful, and genuinely appeared to enjoy all of the menu options. For brunch, my boyfriend and I each ordered the SoBro skillet (pictured in review). When eating this breakfast, I never got the greasy-oily feeling that can sometimes come at other restaurants.

Had breakfast, the corn cakes with guava jam are a tasty surprise. The lemon mint egg scramble was good as were the potatoes. Service was good and the coffee was ok. Nice quiet morning spot.

The restrooms are clean. Nothing too special here, but I was confused why there are two soap dispensers. At first I thought the wall dispenser was hand sanitizer. Contrary to my hypothesis, I discovered that it was soap that looked identical to that of the pump dispenser. My recommendation is to remove the pump dispenser for a seamless experience.

I arrived at SoBro at 11. It says both on the website and the door that they open at 11. But the door was locked. I waited outside for 10 minutes. I knocked, and I called the phone number, but no one answered. I was really disappointed, because I was looking forward to eating there.

I've been here several times and the food is great. The staff are rude. It is a small place and so it is really easy to hear them when they make judgmental comments about the customers. Today the comments were about me and the whole restaurant could hear them. I was too embarrassed to stay for my meal.

Very hip place, reminded us of Portland! Offers vegan friendly food and tastes wonderful. We tried the bison burgers and the buffalo vegan plate. Worth stopping in for the experience, slightly pricy.

From the reviews it seem like the place to go but I now wish I haven't gone. The service was extremely slow and it took awhile for my group of 6 to be seated. Once we placed our order we wait for an hour to get our food and constantly had to ask for refills. When the food finally came I would say it was average at best and some of it came out cold. Getting are bill was another "slow" process. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I wish we would have left like some of the other groups did.

I honestly love this place. It is tucked in along 52nd St., and is truly a peaceful, intimate cafe-style vibe. I almost alway have the vegan biscuits and gravy, and it's so delicious. I always say it's like a curry and biscuits. The gravy has such a different, but killer flavor and is loaded with veggies. I also recommend the chai. Too good.

We went for Devour, it was amazing. I had the chicken pesto with broccoli and zucchini. My husband had the salmon with lemon dill sauce. For an appetizer we had pita bread with hummus. Everything was delicious! Be sure to try their chai, it’s as good as they say if not better!

My friends found it as a place to eat on the way home on a road trip and I wasn't sure... But the staff was very pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. I got the bison burger on pretzel bun and red potatoes. It was great. Only wish they had a half pound upgrade size. Sweet potato fries were also on point.

Fantastic brunch experience. I had the chorizo skillet and a chai latte. Both were incredible. The skillet was well-seasoned, warming, and the potatoes were very crispy. Our server was friendly, attentive, and always kept our water filled. Highly recommend!

I have some big food issues, as MSG is hidden so ubiquitously in all things remotely edible, to the degree that most foodees don't know when they are eating it. I only had a salad here, but the tomatoes and greens had flavour not attained through artificial chemistry. Service was friendly and quick. The chef came to the table and joked for a minute despite the fact the place was filling up fast. The decor was warm and quirky, there weren't many items gluten free, but I've grown accustomed to that in the Midwest. My wife also had a gargantuan salad that she enjoyed. We'll be back.

A restaurant specializing in natural, wholesome food. The menu focuses on delicious meal options with a choice of chicken, shrimp, tofu, seitan, and tempeh. The meals are professionally arranged on the dishes and they are delicious. I had the Thai Peanut with seitan and brown rice. It had plenty of veggies with it and a very tasty peanut sauce. They also have gluten free dishes. Service was very nice, friendly and prompt. Outdoor seating is also available. They also serve wine.

To put it simply, this place has the best coffee in town. I can't think of anywhere that I would prefer to go. Also the facility is a lot a lot cleaner than the average Starbucks which is nice. The staff is friendly, prompt, and has better service than many other places I have been. There was a bit of a line when I was there and they actually brought the coffee out to my table which was unexpected. Great work Thu Br!

The corn cakes and chi tea were great. The service was good. The Peanut Sauce Temptation had a terrible presentation. The zucchini and broccoli were overcooked and it all just looked very unappetizing. The taste was just okay to me. I was very disappointed that the main dish was $16 and so underwhelming. This is an easy dish to conquer, so I expected more. I give two stars because the prices are too high and the main dish left much to be desired. However, I would go back to meet a friend for the chi tea.

I have a complaint. Your service "Intuit Tax Returns" didn't even service me with a full tax reduction. I pulled a loan for my mortgage and they made it worse. I'm still giving 5 stars because they sold me some rare Peruvian frogs a few years back. They're hard to come by.

Great spot! Went late on a Saturday night before they closed. I typically try not to do that but Indy doesn't have a lot of healthy vegan options. The staff member who greeted and served us was amazing. She worked is in and let us know we could take our time. The food was really good and the ingredients were of acceptable quality. The restaurant was clean, the menu had a nice amount of vegan options with designations for gluten free and vegan (not vegetarian) I will definitely be back.

Building appears to be an old garage. Lots of atmosphere. The menu was very different with Lamb burgers, pancakes, egg dishes, chicken thighs, salads. All gourmet. Chef owner was behind the counter working with the rest of his talented staff. I had the chicken thighs.

All I can remember was that two eggs and potatoes were like... $9.00. The meal a farmhand might start their day off with was higher than the minimum wage. I don't know if these eggs came from a celebrity chicken or if the potato was plucked from a mountain top, but they tasted like plain eggs and potatoes.

Here is the problem with these new trending places of healthy eating - owners, staff, cooks, marketing partners love selling products under the WRONG descriptions. Sobro Cafe like other typical "nontraditional" and "health aware" establishments put together a dish and call it whatever to sell it. I have had several instances where they give me non vegan food. I have a family member who is allergic to eggs (not life threatening but face gets puffy), I have an old college friend who will literally die if he eats anything with a hint of dairy, and there's me a guy who doesn't like the idea of eating any animal products. How many times does this need to be explained, since you're preparing something that is going in somebody's body:. (1 VEGAN) means that person will not eat meat, no sea creatures (because in the US there's a distinction), no eggs (even as a binding agent for cooking), no milk from anyone other their own damn human mother. (2 OvoLacto Vegetarian) means the person consumes dairy and eggs but no meat or sea creatures. (3 Lacto Vegetarian) means no eggs, meat, sea creatures, but will consume dairy of any kind. (4 Veggie or vegetarian VAGUELY describes not eating traditional meat of non sea creatures - cannot and should not be used as a way of describing a diet). Get your business in order or sell it to someone who cares about their customers and also has talent.

Eh!! Not a terrible place to eat if you haven't been. The location is great for northsiders and the ambience is good too. But, the parking sucks!! The food isn't that great and they are way overpriced for what they offer. Not to mention the sheer amount of time it takes for them to bring it out to you. I think this is a good place to bring out of town friends looking for something semi unique and time to talk. Otherwise... I won't go back here until they add food to their menu, lower their prices and speed up the service. *** So I lied! We came back and it was better. Menu still recognizable, but the food had a better overall taste and was quite delicious.***

Had Sunday Brunch at the Sobro Cafe. It was acceptable food. The biscuits and gravy were not so good that if I had friends from out of town I would drag them there to make sure they got to experience the delicious morsels of biscuit and gravy... They were just so so. The ketchup was home made... or if it wasn't they added a few table spoons of a simple sugar solution to some Heinz 57 and called it a day. The ketchup was sweet and runny and off putting in a way to dip the home fries in. I had heard good things about the restaurant before visiting... it is pretty good... but is a shade above ordinary.

Absolutely love this place and everything about it. My wife has Celiac Disease and SoBro has tons of gluten-free and vegan options. And they've even got some great options for a wheat-eating carnivore like me! It's usually quiet and the staff are friendly. Great place for brunch or dinner.

SoBro cafe, as interesting as this name sounds (at least for me), the menu has a good variety of options. Given the other high reviews, we might have been to the cafe on an off day. My girlfriend and I came for brunch and each had a coffee. I got the bacon skillet and she had the mushroom. We did not get a refill of our coffee until the waitress brought us some to go with our check. The potatoes in the skillets were beyond salty. With the mushroom skillet, we were expecting a mushroom flavored dish, however it wasn't and the sauce on it tasted of flour. We will give them another chance given the other glowing reviews, but our first experience was definitely subpar.

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is cozy but sophisticated, and there are really tasty vegan options too! Get the chai; it's really good. It took a little while for us to get a server because I opened the door a little too gently and they have a bell attached to the front door to alert them to customers coming in, so keep that in mind when coming in.

Avoid this place during peak breakfast hours. Have had one good and two bad experiences here -- the most recent experience was horrible. The bottom line with this place is they can't keep up if there's more than three tables. We (a party of three) waited 45 minutes from the time we sat down to the time our food was actually put in front of us. The bread, described as sour dough, was toasted Wonderbread and the biscuits and gravy, which are normally good, were cold. The rest of our food, eggs and bacon, was fine but certainly not anything that should take 45 minutes to cook. What was most frustrating was that nobody came to our table to either acknowledge that we had been waiting a ridiculously long time or to let us know how much longer we could expect to wait. I wish this place was more consistent because it's right around the corner from our house.

Delicious! I'm not a vegan but had heard good things, so I stopped in at around 11:30 on a Saturday morning. I got a drink and an entree and both were excellent. The service wasn't super attentive and the price is a bit steep depending on what you order, but I'd still recommend this spot for brunch, vegan or not!

SoBro Cafe catered our office holiday party, and it was the best experience! The food was fantastic, and every single person was blown away by it. The vegan choices are fabulous. Chef Bill was so great to work with and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy! I definitely recommend them, and we'll be using them in the future!
