3 of us came here after the Cher concert last Friday night 4/11/14 (11:30pm-midnight). I ordered the Chicken Bacon Mac and Cheese......OMG....I LOVED IT!!! It was in my top 3 Mac and Cheese EVER. The other 2 lady's both ordered burgers (Cowboy Burger, I think?) and the loved them. The service was just OK, they weren't very busy at all but all 3 of us commented that it seemed to take a while to get the food. Overall though, I loved it and would go back again!

Absolute garbage. The price for portion size is ridiculous. Put in an order for our ENTIRE office, 4 different onion ring orders in total. We may have gotten a total of 20 onion rings, that is a heavy guess. Coleslaw is stupid bland, almost like a terrible salad. Can't follow simple directions and put guac on the side. Left out multiple ITEMS from our order as well. Just a complete joke. Thankfully the boss paid for lunch or I would be calling down to the restaurant. Wouldn't waste my time or anyone else money and eat here again, especially since Indy has so many good food options.

Food is actually fresh and taste good. We had always nice serving from our servers. Little over priced for the portions they are serving and actually for the regular items about american food you can find the same taste where ever you go.

A bit pricey (which should be expected as this restaurant is "upscale"); you should expect to pay ~$15 a plate here. But the food is really great, so at least you should know you are getting a good meal for your money. I got the pretzel encrusted chicken (came with mashed potatoes and green beans) and it was delicious. My boyfriend got the stuffed peppers and loved them. The beer is pretty solid too. A handful of choices in a variety of styles. I just wish the atmosphere was a little more "comfortable" and a little less formal. It's a small thing but it felt less cozy than I generally expect breweries to be. Overall, if you're want to go out to slightly fancier establishment and don't mind paying about $15 on a meal and $6 on a 20oz beer this is worth a try! Very good food.

The best thing about this place is the atmosphere. Besides that, everything is pretty average. Their beer menu is good, but the two I tried were nothing special at all. Their menu is a little bland, except for the appetizers. Their jalapeño pizza sticks were very good. The burger and sandwich choices leave a lot to be desired, and my steak sandwich was not worth the $14; super greasy with under toasted bread and not nearly enough horseradish mayo. Fries were fine. Our waitress was not good at all. She admitted to us that she was lazy, had to change the tickets three times at the end (and still didn’t get it right), and was just not impressive at all. To top it off, we wanted to sit outside for a dinner in spring weather, but they didn’t have service outside. I would maybe go back for a beer and app, but probably not.

I'm sure the food, drinks and service world have been great had we been greeted or seated. Instead my wife and I waited at an empty host stand while 4 employees just looked at us from a distance. On a Wednesday afternoon at 3pm to have an unmanned host stand while employees are standing around talking amongst themselves is unacceptable.

The only reason I’m rating 2 stars is because the burger I had was delicious. Everything else about the experience was incredibly disappointing and poor. After placing our orders, we did not see our server for approximately 15 minutes. An appetizer was ordered, but was not delivered before our meals. Before the meals were delivered I asked about their status, and was told they’re coming right out. After our food was ordered I asked about their status and was asked by the server what appetizer I ordered. It took 40 minutes for us to receive our order on a Wednesday evening. The server made the excuse that orders are made in order of the tickets placed to the kitchen, A friend ordered a cheeseburger with nothing but cheese on it, and received a hamburger and had to ask for her slice of cheese twice. I asked for a manager before our food was brought out and a manager did not come out until 15 minutes after my request to speak with one. The manager stated he would help us out, and only took off the appetizer of our bill with no further “assistance.” After speaking with the manager, it took an additional 30 minutes to simply receive our bill. This experience was utterly shameful. For a restaurant in downtown Indianapolis, I have high expectations for service. Unfortunately, the service received lived up to the restaurant’s name. I absolutely refuse to return to this restaurant.

First walk in you feel welcomed by a bright smile and a friendly waitress. Our waiter was fantastic as well! Now the food, I was taken completely off guard when we ordered the nachos! Seriously hands down glad we came there! The nachos were huge and delicious with chicken! Plus we got my toddler the grilled cheese which tasted good too and he loved the veggies with it! Highly recommend!

Rock Bottom is a chain brewpub, but their beers are solid and the food is really pretty good. This is a decent choice for dinner in downtown Indy.

Made a reservation, showed up at the appointed time, and we were told that there were no tables. No apology, rude response, with a wave of "you can see we're very busy." That's pretty much why people make reservations. Saying "reservations weren't supposed to be taken for that day" doesn't cut it when we could see the reservation on the restaurant's screen. We will not return.

Pieces of glass in a drink, waited over an hour for food, were not given any silverware(had to ask twice!) service was terrible. Almost all the food that was brought out, wasn’t even warm. Missed multiple items with order and many complications with bill. Wished we looked at the reviews before stopping in here for quick late dinner and drinks. initially they told us 1hr wait for an outdoor table, was seated inside and requested to wait for a table outdoors cause it was HOT inside and was seated near bathrooms. Came back and told us 10-15 min till we can sit outside(1hr wait to 15?....ok) Was also told they were under new management but many improvements needed.

This is a must see in the heart of Indianapolis. The service was great. Our server let us try different beers so we could pick the right one that matched our taste buds. Every single beer was made to absolute perfection. They brew their own beer and you can see it being made. The midlife crisis was absolutely amazing and so were the pickle chips...and that jalapeno ranch is to die for! You cant pass this place up. Even the design inside is enough to make you ohhhh and ahhh. You want something original, unique, and fun to do while you're in Indianapolis this is the place to go.

I went to this restraunt for my New Year’s Eve dinner and the lobster and shrimp enchiladas had but one sliver of burnt lobster on top and the rest of it was little itsy bitsy shrimp. Don’t order the lobster and shrimp enchiladas you will be very disappointed.

Go there if you want to get sick. Very dissapointing. Giving it 2 stars because we were seated right away even when we got there about 10 min late, and the beer was very good. Everything went down hill after that. We had a large party and the staff was all over the place. One individual in my party had an extremely salty steak that was supposed to be medium well and it was VERY well done; someone else didn't even get their food because it was never ordered to the kitchen; we ordered nachos for the table that literally looked like they were scraps from other tables; and we have someone today who is violently ill from a hamburger. We spoke with the manager (I think he said his name was Myron?) and he explained that there was only a supervisor in the kitchen all while checking his phone. No comp offered. Some people in my party came from other states and even countries to celebrate the New Year in a place I thought was very good. Will not go there again, very disappointed.

Horrible waitress, cook and drinks. Couldn't eat half of my food because it was over salted. Drinks were either too sour/bitter (Long Island) or very weak, even after ordering a double (Rum and Coke). Both mine and my fiance's sides were so over salted, they weren't edible and we both love salt. The main course of salmon for me and tacos for her were very small portions. Won't be coming back. Worst service I general that I've had in possibly in my life as a 30+ year old adult.

Rock Bottom's a cozy, primarily-meat-and-potatoes joint that I can't really not recommend if you're not feeling adventurous. Things are limited here. There's not a vastly expansive menu and there's not a mile-long beer list; you're stuck with Americana and that ain't so bad here. It won't take you long to decide, seeing as you're not mired in an array of choices. Good burgers, I've been several times and always cooked just right. The house drafts are all good and they offer pairing suggestions if you're into that. The staff are a friendly bunch and that's always appreciated. Prices are reasonable for what you'll see downtown. No frills, solid as the goddamn Midwestern soil in the depths of winter.

We found Rock Bottom by just googling "restaurants near me" then looking at the menu. We went at 3:00 in the afternoon (so a weird time) but the staff was very friendly. I got mac n' cheese with bacon and it was delicious and my husband got lobster and shrimp tacos and in his words "they were freaking awesome". We are not beer drinkers but if you were, this would be the place to go. Great selection. They have a huge menu to choose from and outdoor seating

The service was great, the food was good. The semi-crappy review is because... I've come here at least twice a year since I was 16 (I'm 27). The menu gets smaller and smaller every time and I honestly had no idea what to order when I came today. I'm not a burger person and I'm not going to pay what they ask for a pretty conventional salad. It seems they'll always have the pretzels and nachos on the appetizers (we hope), but what about the amazing calamari, Monte Cristo sandwich, the lobster enchiladas, etc, etc? What happened? Why so boring now?

The positive things: beer, food, atmosphere and waitress was friendly. The negatives: Both mine and my husband's choice of beer, they were out of. The actual menu itself was incredibly nasty and covered in gunk. The waitress provided terrible service to us. Took forever to come back to our table after delivering our beer. Someone else delivered our food. Waitress never came by to see if food was ok. After nearly finishing our food she came by and I asked for an ice water. Never returned with that until I believe she saw me at the bar getting an ice water myself. It was busy in the bar area and I don't think she was waisting time but we were forgotten about. There were people that sat down after we had been there for awhile that paid and left before we did. It's an ok place. I wouldn't miss it if I didn't go there again.

My steak, my wife's fries and burger were all very good even though my steak was unevenly cooked. It was the same thickness all the way through but one side was undercooked and the other side was overcooked. Not sure how that happens. I had mashed potatoes with my steak and they came out cold, not room temperature, not lukewarm but cold. I had ordered a side salad which came out 10 minutes after my steak and having to remind the waitress twice. We got our silverware approximately 5 minutes after we got our meals. It made it very difficult for me to eat my cold mashed potatoes and cut my weirdly cooked steak. I will say once everything came out the food was good. Hoping they were just having an off night but we've been to this particular branch several times in the last 4 years and have never had a positive experience. If you're going for appetizers and beer this place is great just don't plan to stay for a meal. The manager was apologetic and did take 40% off our bill. Everyone there was very friendly.

Did have a five star review as a first time guest trying to just understand, but after many visits: Alright, I give in. Won’t be back. Watched the bartender not measure one drink and under pour them all. The food consistently tastes frozen, the drinks are horrible, the restaurant doesn’t always feel the cleanest, and the servers can tell they hate their jobs (while being very vocal between one another how much this place is s*** and also how so and so is hiring). I’ve tried over and over and over. I can tell this place only stays open because tourists come and don’t realize how much of a train wreck it is, and I also see why all of my local friends either don’t go here or don’t care to know about going here.

All the food ordered was delicious, cooked properly and served at an appropriate temperature. The dishes ordered were the fish and chips, jambalaya, and NY strip. Our server was amazing and had tables spread all over the restaurant, but we were never lacking for attention. If I remembered his name I'd mention it here and tell everyone to request to be in his sections. Did not try any of the in house brews, but did try some of the different cocktails and all were expertly made. This was the first time dining here and will definitely return in the future.

Group dinner- cold appetizers, raw chicken wings, inconsistent desserts- some came with whipped cream, others came with no ice cream. Drinks from the bar took an exuberant amount of time- and there were only 4 people sitting at the bar when we checked. Took 25 minutes to get appetizer plates. Pretzels might as well have been frozen. Brownie dessert was okay, but nothing to write home about. Very disappointed in our table service.

Excellent food and brew! Good deals throughout the week and in the bar area. They stay open late all week and don’t close the kitchen early. One the best places downtown to grab some quick grub and have a quality beer as well as spend a little time there and enjoy yourself. Always excellent servers working too!

Got the BBQ pork sandwich, very dry and seemed to be missing the BBQ. Most of the flavor came from the burnt bun. I got through a few bites and didn't eat anymore. When the waiter did finally show up to check on us, he never once asked why I hadn't eaten my food, including when I told him I didn't want a to-go box. Fries were warm, at best.

Of all places to eat in downtown Indianapolis this place literally is Rock Bottom. Came here before a Pacers game on my wife's birthday. We didn't order any alcohol and was ignored with poor service. My wife found hair in her food and was just given a ho hum type of apology. The wings with hair were taken off the bill but they didn't seem to care about our experience after our horrible discovery because they continued to ignore our table. We waited a while to get our food to begin with and we didn't have the time to wait another 30 minutes for her food to come back out. In the end I split my lunch with my wife so she can eat. I spoke to the manager on duty and all he seemed to care about was that the wings were taken off the bill...That was it. No apology or anything. I was embarrassed by taking my wife here on her birthday and it just left a bad taste the rest of the afternoon. Avoid this restaurant and eat at one of the many other places to dine in downtown Indy.

Ate dinner here last night. It had been TOO long since we'd been here. Beer and ball park pretzels were fabulous as usual! Hubby and I split the fish and chips. The only disappointment was the cole slaw. It is usually SO good-- just the right amount of dressing and the apple in it!!!! Last night, it had one tiny apple chunk and no dressing. It was really just dry cabbage. I should have sent it back; instead, I left disappointed. The fish was perfect, as were the fries. The service was excellent.

Without question, Rock Bottom is the place to be in Downtown Indy. The food is great, the drinks are delicious, and the atmosphere is just plain fun. Highly recommended. Be sure to order a flight of beers so you can enjoy their craft! They have a side variety of beers and none disappoint!

We took our 18 year old son for a new experience. It was quite enjoyable. I like that my husband was able to sample a couple of beers before making his selection. I'm a very particular fish consumer and I must say their fish was excellent! We went back shortly after with our toddler for Veteran's Day. They were treating Veteran's to a free meal, of the Veteran's choice from the regular menu. Definitely a kind gesture and very much appreciated! I believe they also offer a military discount on all other days, but I'm not completely positive.

Slow service ay a slow time of day, dirty tables, average food at best. Never got a refill on water.

Top sirloin rare was great two nights in a row. Their American stout was really good. 25 oz is more expensive then the 20 oz fyi. So confused haha

Good food. Poor service. Not too sure what we did incorrectly to upset the waitress; she was upset from the moment she walked up to the table. She will be happy to know that we will never come back and inconvenience her the way we did.

Brought a sugary drink to the diabetic at the table, then argued when they asked for a diet. Mistakes happen, but there's no need to be rude after you endanger a guest.

Great night for a meal at Rock Bottom. Two orders - lobster and shrimp enchiladas for one and 2 starters for the other (pretzels with cheese dip and spring rolls). The sides with the enchiladas were real, fresh black beans (the way they should be made) and rice with lime & cilantro. We were both very happy with our choices, leaving full and satisfied. Couldn't finish my pretzels or spring rolls but my husband said his meal was the perfect amount of food. STUFFED! HAPPY! COMING BACK! Service - fantastic. Thank you!!!

As a good friend describes it, this place is "better than OK." An American style brewpub, this place has solid food and solid beer for a fair price. Nothing here is going to blow your mind, but there is plenty to at least keep you intrigued. I have also been a part of 2 very large groups here, and they did a really good job accommodating us, with any mishaps to speak up. Everything came up quickly and tasted great.

Started with a sour to drink, very refeshing and satisfying! The appetizer (nachos) were delicious, and the sizzling stuffed peppers were fantastic. I'm stuffed but want more just because it was that good. Highly recommend.

I order carry out food here consistently as I live closeby. Although the food is delicious, 50% of the time something is wrong (food over-cooked, side forgotten, toppings wrong, etc), and the staff couldn’t care less about it. Incredibly frustrating. Your money is better spent elsewhere, as there are great alternatives right around the corner. Will not be returning here.
