My team decided to do a pitch in from here, and I got the Vegetarian sub, which sounded amazing. Only cheese I see on the sub is Cheddar, no mayo to be seen, there were more mushrooms than anything on the sandwich and those had a strange taste to them so I picked them off. What I was left with was two small tomato slices, a small sprinkle of lettuce, and bread. Pretty disappointed. Never had Potbelly's food before, and don't think I'll be re-ordering anything anytime soon.

Worst experience ever, and it is still not over. As I sit here starving and have had 5 phone calls with the store, I ponder in amazement how they could neither take my credit card number correctly or find my hotel right outside Lucas oil stadium. Apparently this is rocket science. I'm not normally a negative reviewer or name caller, but what I am experiencing is simply moronic. Been working hard all Sunday and just want my food (very late and still not here). Mystified. Update, order canceled. On to jimmy johns.

I think the management has been changed a while ago and since then quality of the sandwiches and the staff also was changed. never get the right order and always missing items that you wanna add or it is supposed be in the sandwich that you picked. Staff is look like they do not wanna work or listen you. Three stars are for still fresh baked multigrain bread and the ice cream shakes.

This is my favorite sub shop in Indianapolis. If you like sandwiches, you should definitely try this restaurant! By default the sandwiches are hot. The unique thing about Potbelly is that the hot sandwiches are not greasy! I usually get their Italian sub and it is not greasy at all. Their hot peppers are super good. All the ingredients are very fresh. This is a must try place!

Really good sandwiches. The Cuban was a great sandwich with good tasting pulled pork, though could have had a bit more pork. Also tried the turkey club, Pizza sandwich, and A Wreck. All were very filling and the bread was really good. Enjoyed the experience and the view.

Looking for a lunch spot while walking downtown Indy and wanted something light, good, and a sandwich. This fit the bill perfect. Decent fresh sub's, nice decor, clean, fast, and good service. I got the wreck on wheat with mayo, lettuce, Italian seasoning, and potbelly vinaigrette. The sandwich wasn't as big as I've received at other sub's places, but it was just enough to fill me up. I really enjoyed it, and really enjoyed the potbelly vinaigrette. I gave it 4 stars because they don't have sweet tea just unsweetened. They need sweat tea :-)

Great casual vegetarian sandwhich. Not explicitly printed on the menu but ask for "the veggie/the vegetarian" sandwhich and you'll get an option of bread and by default it comes with three cheeses and mushrooms. Oven roasted and then you pick cold veggies subway style. Avocado is extra. Wonderful place to grab a faster sitdownish sandwich. Do not be dissuaded by a long line. They bust out a tablet and start taking orders down that line and those sandwhich start firing out of that kitchen. Vegetarians be warned - when this place gets cooking you will be treated to an overwhelming, thick cloud of meat smells. To avoid either of these situations stay away from the 9-5er downtown lunch rush.

Came here with my girlfriend and we each got the pick two. Portion sizes were small, but the food was tasty. The employees wouldn’t speak loud enough to be heard so it was hard to know what to order. Good location with a good view though.

Their sandwiches are always too dry. My coworkers rave about this place, but I have yet to have a sandwich from them that has impressed me. Their soups are quite good, but overpriced. Also, the interior of the restaurant always smells like smoke, as if bread crumbs are burning in the oven. This is a problem other sandwich chains have solved, but it is constant here. I work upstairs in the same building, and about the only time I come here is if I'm desperate because it's pouring down rain and I forgot my umbrella.

Potbelly is my favorite downtown sub shop. It's a really cute location, with fast and friendly service. The subs are toasted and hot, piled up just the way you like it. The Potbelly peppers are the perfect topping for a little extra pizzazz. Extras include chips, jumbo pickles, cookies, and milk shakes.

I always place my order online. I like that I can customize my sandwich just as if I was at the restaurant ordering. I can also save orders so when I am ordering for a monthly meeting at work I can just place the order not worry about it. I have never had any problems and the delivery is quick and efficient.

I love Potbelly's. This one was run down, dirty, and messy. It was not ready for opening, with employees scattered and unsure of what was going on, and not ready to serve customers. The cashier was not customer service oriented, irritated I had asked if there were any cookies available, as nothing had been set out for the day. Definitely needs a very good cleaning and updating.

What a lovely place! Decided to give this place a try after several people told me how great it was... and they weren't lying. The place itself is very unique and full of all sorts of stuff. Orders are taken on the far left side of the counter. After examining the menu I ordered. There were two people behind the counter, a guy and a girl. IDK if the girl was new, or just given a hard time by the guy, but either way the dynamic between the two was energetic and fun. After our sandwiches made a pass through the toaster we added our toppings and went along with our day. Before selecting a seat outside (it was a beautiful fall day) we commented on how inexpensive our meal was. $17 for two people is amazing... especially when we are used to paying $25+ elsewhere. The food was absolutely delicious. Made me happy... and really that's what's important. Good flavor and great value! The place itself is clean, bright (huge windows overlooking monument circle), and plenty of places to sit. They do have a small section outside to sit as well (clearly as it was mentioned above). They do offer other items than a sandwich, such as smoothies, soup, and I believe even salads. They do have some baked goods at the counter as well. Its a great little place and I'm sure that I'll be back again.

Resisted coming here for about a year and a half because the name was gross to me, but I stumbled in about a week ago and can’t get enough. Amazing, fresh ingredients used in the salads, delicious dressings and filling portions for a very reasonable price. Great lunch spot!

One afternoon my office was getting a little hungry we called Potbelly's to see if we cold have some cookies delivered. They said that they would have to bake them fresh so it would take a little bit of time, but they were delivered fresh and hot. The whole office appreciated the amazing customer service that this store offered us!

My family frequently walks down to the circle on the weekend and has a sandwich and shake - the staff always accommodates our request to make a shake and split into two cups for the kids to share. The sandwiches are excellent and can be custom ordered for non-menu items. The shakes are also very good.

My favorite sub shop downtown! I go weekly. The last couple times I've gone, they were out of my usual but the other menu items I've tried are really good too! Cozy atmosphere. It is usually crowded at lunch time though and sometimes no seats available.

We recently moved into Circle Tower and have had a chance to try most of the restaurant offerings in/near our building. We are now convinced that there are no really good options near The Circle but, of the ones that exist, Potbelly is one of the best. Their staff often leaves a little to be desired in the hygiene dept. but that is par for the course downtown. If you must eat something downtown, this is likely the best you'll find.

Extreme bad service. Placed an order for delivery an hour and half back. I was told by the delivery guy that the order was placed only half an hour back according to the receipt. Called them twice but the response was cavalier. Wanted to buy from them for the rest of my week's stay in Indy but not sure anymore.

Our office has placed multiple orders with Potbelly and, while our co-workers love the food, they have yet to arrive with the full order and/or the correct order. Unfortunately, I believe today was their last chance and we will not be ordering from them again in the future. You would think that large orders with multiple items would be double-checked for accuracy so that they WOULD get return customers but I guess being downtown, they are busy enough that they do not care if they lose large customers.

This location is a mess and they never get the order right. You ask for something additional and while they have no problem taking your money for it, they never put it in your order. They never deliver your food on time. I called today and they called and said they were out of potato salad. Fine, substitute something else. 45 minutes later I called and my order has never left store. So, 1 hour and 10 minutes after ordering, I still do not have my food.

Small-ish menu, but I've actually eaten 95% of the offerings and everything was good. There are a ton of things to look at and read in this place, and the staff behind the counter are very friendly. They have a couple of delivery bike guys who are snotty douche bags, though. They like to hang out outside and pat themselves on the back for being so awesome; they are hard to miss.

I ordered online to have it delivered to the hospital while I was getting my staples removed. He called I told him entrance two, my driver went down shortly after to meet him and he rode away from entrance one. My driver tried yelling at him to get his attention, but to no avail. When we called 5 minutes later they told us the rider just got back and that wasn't in their delivery rage, though he was just there, so I asked for a refund and they told me that it will take a week for me to get my money back, which I don't have much of right now cause im crippled at the moment. I didn't get a notice or anything of a refund in my email, so I don't know if they're trying to steal my money, or if it actually takes them a week to refund. I missed lunch and my rehab has strict breakfast, lunch, and dinner times, so I don't get to eat today :( not happy with my service. Would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I was recently in Indianapolis for a conference with a group of hungry teens. I had been to the Potbelly Sandwich in Washington, DC so I knew what kind of food to expect for a cheap price. I tried the meatball sub and the seasonal peppermint milkshake. Both were very delicious. Everyone in the group I was with was able to find something that they would enjoy. We also had a gluten free vegetarian in the group and she was very happy with the selection and options that she had to choose from. The staff was very welcoming and one of the workers checked in on us throughout the meal to see how every one liked it. Definitely a great place to go for lunch and dinner. It is within walking distance of the convention center and Lucas Oil Stadium.

Your experience here will entirely depend on what time of day you visit. When they're not busy, sandwiches are great and so is the service. When they're busy? Sandwiches are almost always poorly prepared, and not to order, and the service is poor as well. If you want to eat here, don't go at busy lunch hours.

This is a pretty standard sandwich place that toasts your sandwich in a toaster and let's you pick your toppings after you've chosen the meat of the sandwich. My grilled chicken was very filling, but the Chips were so so. In a sandwich place, I always expect some form of kettle cooked chips because those fit the best for me! Maybe having chips come on a plate with the sandwich might be better off for presentation. Overall, the meal hit the spot but it was nothing to go out of your way to try when you stop downtown.

This is what small sandwich shop in a big city should feel like! Classic vibe with lots of hustle and bustle, newspaper clippings and signs on the walls. It's usually really busy around lunch time, but that's because its a rather popular place. Sandwiches are delicious!
