Very good food friendly stafg
Some of the items (e.g. baklava) are a bit pricey for their size ($3 for a small triangle), but their gyros are pretty damn good.
Good portion size. Fresh.
Great food
Good food, small cafe feel. Looks a bit older but very clean. Food was a bit slow (I ordered during off-time to be fair) but fresh and delicious. I might go back tomorrow!
Food is pretty good.
Good for a good grab. I had chicken shawarma, didn't get the meditaranian taste as such. Quantity, and behavior of staff was impressive.
Been here twice so far. Great late night option on weekends. Ordered gyro spicy. It wasn't spicy but was fine with it. Good was good. Extremely reasonable prices. I like the space. They did a great job maximizing it with the layout. I felt comfortable here. Owner was there taking and filling orders both times. I didn't mind his demeanor/personality; straight forward and to the point. Plus he's cute.
Always the friendliest service and great Medatrian food. Thanks for the late late hours.
I ordered a gyros sandwich, the guy sliced it and put on the grill less than a minute so it wasn't cooked at all, service was not good with, I am pretty sure all the good reviews are fake!
I don't know how this place has so many good reviews. The food is fine but it's not a great value and you have to wait 20+ minutes for some stuff that should be premade (hummus) even when no one else is there. And then they get your order wrong even though there are basically four things on the menu. I really want to like this place since it's basically the only "grab and go" on Mass Ave but their terrible service is making it pretty difficult.
Food looks good but extremely ignorant and very rude!
Great falafel, any time of night!
We loved Petra Cafe! The chicken shawarma sandwich and fattoush salad had excellent flavors with large portions. Definitely have to try the fresh baklava. Best prices in this area of town.
Good food and atmosphere. I appreciate that they are open so late.
Great food and EXCELLENT customer service. I will be a repeat customer!
The gyro platter was delicious. Good spot to grab a late night bite on the weekend.
This is a quaint restaurant with food that makes you feel like you're eating a home-cooked Greek meal. Mine was prepared to perfection! It definitely is a good break from the constant reiteration of burgers-fries-and-beer that seems to proliferate throughout Indianapolis (seriously, how do people not get tired of it?). Anyway, I would highly recommend this location where the servers are friendly, the food is good, and rather affordable for the area.
Ate here on 7/22/17 at 11:30 AM.Only one employee was staffed. He did not communicate well with us. Besides not explaining the menu or greeting us, he repeatedly got the order wrong.Behind the counter, several pots were over-boiling. The food prep area was dingy and messy. We ordered the falafel and fries combo(about 7.99). It took the cook 15 minutes to prepare( the food came from the freezer to the fryer)Meanwhile, two other patrons waited to be served side salads and pita with humus. There was no sense of urgency. When we were asked back to the counter to dress the falafels, he proceeded to use the same tongs to divvy out each of the toppings from their pans (so if you're not a fan of certain toppings too bad they are all cross contaminated)..the silverware and napkin station was not stocked so we had to ask the cook who took a painfully long time to get back with us.. and we only got one napkin at a time! Hospitality is dead here!We only went here because it was listed as a "must" by a local reviewer, but it seems like anymore you can't trust other people's opinions..so give this place a shot for yourself..and see if the cost, lack of customer service, and filthy cooking area suits your needs!!
Owners are nice and the food is amazing. Really cheap for a meal that is very filling. Chicken shawarma is delicious!!!
Loved every bite
Fast, friendly and very delicious! Check this place out!!
No matter the time, day, or night, these gentlemen will treat you as guests in their restaurant. The food speaks for itself, but the people that run this place are thorough in the sense that they want you to receive what you want. Edited to add gender neutral bathrooms.
Gyros are great, but messy. Cocktail napkins are a joke = too small!
OPA! This food will put you in a festive mood!! Yummy, authentic Mediterranean food makes you think you're in the Greek Isles - everything from the fresh with all the right spices salads to schwarma, falafel to kebab, baba ganoush to humus, the pita, the rice, and the oh no you didn't baklava...you'll say Effharisto!! as you go back for seconds. Affordable, stay or carryout, conveniently right in the
Best Shwarma ever. Not exaggerating .
Food is good. The place is small though with limited seating. Open till late on weekends
Not a lot of seating and a little slow, but the food tastes great!
Darn good chicken shawarma and hummus
Tried this for the 1st time today food was amazing and fresh portion size was good for the price. Very fulfilling will be back.
Amazing authentic food at an affordable price. Really cool art on the walls and really quick service. Open super late on the weekends and right next to an underground Libertine bar.
Classic shawarma, and delicious. Cool little hole in the wall. Great to just chill with a friend.
Awesome spicy gyro. The guys were super friendly. I think they have a great thing going here on Mass Ave. I’d like to see them work on logistics a little to make the process run a little more smoothly. I am a big fan and I want to see this place be successful and become a fixture here for many years.
Excellent food.
Come here twice for lunch and it’s been locked. Hours are either incorrect on google and yelp or they just close randomly.
Great did great service!
Haven't had such a good shawarma sandwich and customer service in a long time. Shout out to Ibrahim!
Have always had good customer service ( even when translation is a little off ☺) food is spot on middle eastern. Yum
They have great shawerma
Love the shwarma!!
Love their food, especially the cheese steak and fries. Usually takes a bit for your order to be ready but food is consistently great.
It was amazing delicious Food and very nice portions. I love Greek and Mediterranean food. And this is indianapolis's most authentic! A must-try.
Fantastic Gyro and the rice that came with the platter was great! Service was quick and friendly. Definately going to stop in again when I am on mass ave.
One of my favorite place in indy
Amazing place! Prices were reasonable, atmosphere was chill, loved the complementary tea, the shawarma was amazing. Their garlic sauce had an amazing tang, hummus was great (nothing like the horrible store-bought kind) perfect consistency and delicious. Lentil soup was light but still phenomenal. Definitely would reccomend.
Excellent food. If you are looking for an authentic Mediterranean food, you should head to this place. Prices also are very affordable comparing to other places who provide similar food. Very friendly personnel. I recommend you going there and try yourself!!
Delicious!
Small place with yummy food. Nice atmosphere speaking volumes of Mediterranean region
It was good
Amazing sandwiches and service ! Will definitely be a regular here.
The food is amazing. I am glad I stop by here.
Delicious and authentic!
I love this little place. I stop there every time I come down to Indy.
Best late option and friendly staff in Indy!
This is the best place to go to with or with out a family. Hands down number one
Excellent food.
Gr8 Eats
A great change from all of the pug grub on Mass Ave. A good place for a quick bite before a show at theatre on the square.
Visited from out of town. The food was fresh, authentic and amazing. Pricing was reasonable and portions were good sized. Two of us split a plate and were satisfied. I would definitely recommend.
This place is AMAZING! Not only during normal times but they are open late (past 4AM) and the service and food are really good and fresh (you just might be waiting as the line can get long). The employees here are fun and put up with post-bar BS so kudos to them!
Excellent service and food. Always fresh cooking with authentic flavor
amazing shawarma! Friendly staff. Open late
Staff is great, especially with handling drunk people. Great food too!
friendly staff, amazing gyros. the spicy gyro is bomb af. open till 4am some nights so a great spot for late night, post-bar food. not too large of a restaurant so expect lines on busy days.
Great food
Decent food but very pricy. It's less Mediterranean (think Lebanon) and more Greek... which was a bit disappointing since there aren't many places who serve authentic Mediterranean dishes. Place is small, rice is dry but their lamb is the best thing on the menu.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Best mediterranean place in the city! I had the gyro combo regular with fries and a drink. The fries are amazing and the gyro is made fresh right in front of you! The owner also owns Ali Baba's which is also another fantastic mediterranean restaurant! Easily my favorite restaurant right now! I'm going to keep coming here all summer until I've had everything on the menu!
Love this place.
Nice cheap eats. Very filling and delicious.
Best food ever
This is late
Delicious food! I love Greek food and this place is one of the best.
Their falafel is life changing.
The best food in town
I can't tell you how many times i have been near this place and never knew it existed! They the great part is that they are open till like 4am for all those drunk fools and the closing restaurant workers! They are fast and the food is great! I have nothing to complain about
Food is so good and fresh. They have a good option selection too!
Prices are reasonable and food is just as good as I had hoped.
Awesome gyros!
Very good shawarma
Absolutely fabulous food. The rice is too die for. Do not miss this little gem.
Got the spicy gyro sandwich, and it was delicious. Plus, I got to customize it as they created right in front of me like a sub shop. Great place to drop by for a quick bite.
I tried this place last night, and it was delicious and reasonably priced. Really excited to have an authentic Mediterranean restaurant downtown! The restaurant is small but has a warm ambiance to it as well. Will definitely be back
Amazing food, unfortunately bad service. I tried really hard to be nice and they kept being rude :( they rushed me through ordering and just didn't make me feel welcome.
Service: 2/5, Quality: 3/5, Value: 4/5 Vegetarian/Vegan Options: 3/5 Decent selection of vegetarian/vegan options. The portion sizes were above average for the price. The taste of the food was OK but not exceptional. I marked points down for service because one of the workers was coughing uncontrollably and then proceeded to make our food. I would've left because of the coughing but rest of group didn't want to go elsewhere. I'm not sure I would be returning if it was up to me, though if my friends suggested it I would consider going.
Amazing! This is what Mass Ave needed. Fresh, fast, and open late! Been here three times already since opening - tried the Gyro, Chicken Shawarma, Philly Cheese Steak, and Hummus. Definitely in the top ranking when it comes to middle eastern food already. They also serve fresh juices and smoothies. Everything is made to order with a wide open view to the kitchen. The customer service is just as good as the food. Overall excellent and exciting!
Is great restaurant and great food
Delicious, fresh, Greek food on Mass Ave. This is my go to in the area now that Santorini closed
I was brought here one night by an Israeli friend of mine who claimed it was the most legitimate place to get falafel. This place is awesome. The food is utterly amazing. And while the actual physical space may be small, the hearts of the people who work it are incredibly big and open. Very friendly people working there who are interested in forming relationships with customers. I love going in and talking to Abraham about language and culture. I cannot recommend this place enough. Does it have good food? Yes. Does it stay open late? Yes. Does it serve a variety of juices and soda? Yes. Are the employees awesome and amazing? Absolutely. Try it out, you won't regret it.
The best Greek salad I’ve ever had. Ran by some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Truly and amazing place with great customer service and incredible food!
Food was really good. Portions were appropriately priced. Sodas are all cans, no fountain or refills. Very friendly service. Food made fresh, so you do wait a while.
Great place to stop after being out late downtown. Food tasted great.
A friend and I went to this establishment twice. The first time was pleasant and we enjoyed the food and it was clean and the staff was friendly. We were definitely impressed enough to come back but the second time we came there we were treated absolutely deplorably. The gentleman making the food and taking our payment was rude, nasty and disrespectful. All we did was ask for some extra cucumber Sauce and you would’ve thought we were asking for his first born. I’ve never seen such horrible customer service in my life and I would encourage people to not patronize this establishment just on the sheer fact of how rude this person was. At the very least people should be pleasant if they work in customer service or Else go get a job scrubbing toilets because that’s about as much class as you have.
This is by far one of the better hotels I have stayed at in the US. The rooms are very spacious and even though carpeted they were very clean - I had no allergies while there which usually happens with carpet. The breakfast spread was superb. The staff totally helpful and amazing. It is close to many restaurants pharmacies and the mall. Everything just 10 minutes walk.
Really good food with the best quality
Order was incorrect and no effort made to correct it
I like the place, everything is fresh
Very good food nice attention
Delicious food, great value and open late. Can't recommend it enough.
I love the food at Petra! It's fresh, delicious and generously portioned. It's amazing that they are open late too.
It was a great bar
The best Gyros I've found in Indy.
Good gyro
Best Chicken Shawarma I've had!
Food was not good at all.
Hands down, best falafel I've ever had, my husband LOVED the chicken kebab, and the baklava took us over the moon. Really nice owners. Love, love, love this place. Can't recommend highly enough. Am already looking forward to our next visit - I could eat there every day.
Food was great
Best option for Mediterranean food
Great food, the guys that work there are very friendly and you can ask any questions they're happy to answer!
And if there is 5 more stars I Will give them The restaurant is very clean and welcoming The staff are very nice Food prepared fresh and on order, time to prepare meals is very reasonable The food tasted amazing, the sides tasted so original just like we are used to them, talking as a middleastern Chicken Shawerma with garlic sauce tasted very good Kabab also tasted awamazing Food portions are generous Prices is cheap, for the quality, taste and portion totally worth every penny and a must return to Everytime in Indianapolis
The food here is good but the service is very slow and they intentionally lied to me. I ordered 4 Petra Mazarin which include 4 pieces of falafel each. When I ordered it the cashier told me they were out of falafel so I said ok and turned to leave. He then said not to leave because they had enough falafel (what???) once I got my orders (To-go) and opened them each order only had two pieces of falafel and I was charged full price. I returned to ask him about this and the cashier knew exactly why I was back. He eventually made the extra 8 falafel but gee whiz. He was untruthful and very lazy. I am very disappointed- I was hoping for a great new addition to mass ave.
Typical $8-15 menu, same ambiance, service, just another kebab place, until you get the food. Excellent quality, seasoning, portions. Really couldn't ask for more.
Not a big place but the tood and service are always good.
Awesome food. Not greasy. Great service

Everything at this restaurant is extremely tasty! The seating space is really awkward for groups bigger than 2, but it seems like a lot of customers order takeout anyways. I was also bummed that they had neither fries nor falafel available when we visited for lunch, since that comprised most of the combo menu items. The cook recommend chicken kabob with rice instead, which came with a delicious salad. I highly recommend trying it! The hummus and pita were some of the best I've ever tasted.
One of the most authentic Gyros I've had since visiting Greece.
Absolutely delish!
First time here, the gyros were sumptuous and the fries were crispy. Yummy
Nice Middle Eastern food
perfect and cheap price compared to other near to it.! and forgot to say everything was fresh and cut in front of u
Great food and the staff is very friendly
The food is delicious
