B&G is a mainstay and these guys served me a lovely plate this morning, along with a delicious chocolate donut. Super simple menu with chicken and waffles means these guys can have limited focus and me damn good at what they do. They were projecting Disney's The Adventurers without sound, which was perfect for my 10 a.m. Saturday morning vibe between massage sessions. The John Waters film night routine is a tasty prospect, as well. I miss Natural Born Juicers so much, but this place is easing the blow (though not the calories). A cool addition to the block!
I had the buffalo chicken biscuits and gravy it was very tasty and a filling portion. I'm not exactly sure if their menu changes on a daily basis or weekly or what. When we got there, there were a couple of things crossed off of it. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, definitely worth going!!
Great place to eat! The fish fry is amazing! The chicken is the best I've ever had! Good beer selection. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Just give it a try and don't be scared of the menu.
Fabulous schnitzel and waffle special! I love the food here.
Amazing casual food.
This place is awesome. Great, unique sandwiches.
Amazing sandwiches prepared with great ingredients and obvious love and care, friendly service, reasonable prices. Can't recommend this place enough. The menu changes frequently. The pickled vegetables perfectly complement the rich meats.
The best food hipster Indy has to offer.
Hella crafty chefs in the back. Got an afternoon to kill? Go sit at the bar area and order some brews and take your time to pick what you'd like to devour. Fish fry on Friday's always a banger. Movie nights are killer. Hire them to cater an event!
Eclectic hipsters serving very rich food!
Funky vibe with delicious food and great service.
Excellent food and service at this hidden gem on Mass Ave. The chicken skins with a waffle hit the spot!
An amazing kitchy atmosphere, delicious and interesting flavor combinations, and beer! Would highly recommend to anyone and everyone.
We were so excited to try Love Handle, but it just didn’t meet up to the hype. The retro, vintage atmosphere and old cartoons playing on Saturday morning were fun. The restaraunt was very kid friendly and we felt comfortable having our little there. However, the women at the check out wasn’t overly friendly nor helpful. When asked about different dishes, she seemed bored and unenthused. When asked basic information, she lacked knowledge, such as what drinks were available that day. We were also disappointed in the menu selection, it wasn’t the limited menu but lack of diversity in the dishes. If you weren’t up for pork belly that day, that was all the was on almost every dish.
Great little place to grab a breakfast with friends.
Food is unlike anything ive tryed the Bis&Gravy nasty it takes alot for me to not like food but this place i cant say the food is good but by all means try it it might just be me...peace out!!!
Awesome food! Seriously best brunch in town! Not to mention, very good lunch and dinner too! Such a cool vibe and fantastic service. Love coming here!
Place is great for those looking to try new things, the vibe and decor is cool too. Food is unique but mastered for sure. Service and pricing were good We'd come back
Amazing food. I love this place! Cheesecake is the best.
Very interesting decor. Good hispter-off the beaten path arsty kind of place with alright food. Brunch was nothing special unless you like waffles and biscuits and gravy. I was expecting more. Lots of German influence in the food and beer selection. I might come back to try the fish fry, but not again for brunch
Love this place! Different, but very good!
A little disappointed actually. They had some very interesting ideas that we're not executed ad well as they could be. Milktooth it is not.
First time here was amazing. Wonderful husband and wife team, the food was delicious!
Sweat bread hash was pretty darn good if you like organ meat. The wildcard salmon, chicken skin, peach preserve sandwich was good but a little to heavy on the peach sweetness. Great atmosphere. Would love to come back and try the biscuits and gravy!
Everything is too salty
Get the Tang Mimosa.
Love Handle might be my favorite place to eat in Indy. No one else in town does what Chris does, he is a genius when it comes to offal. Don't be afraid to try anything, I've never had a dish I didn't like there.
The food is really good
Great food, service. Love the bbq
I ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy w/an egg. I was full for about 4 hours. If you are used to southern style biscuits and gravy, you won't be let down. Will be back.
One of mine and my bf's favorite places to go! The buttermilk fried chicken is a must try. My favorite items are the biscuit slider and the waffle with egg. Both come with a choice of meat. I recommend the chicken or the pork belly, though they do have more adventurous meats like beef tongue or chicken gizzards on a rotating basis. Everybody is super nice and the owners work in the kitchen frequently so you know they really care about the business.
I got the B's and G's and they were too spicy. And they were almost 10 dollars
Super amazing staff and such a cool place! I love checking out new places and this one hit the spot. Serve beer and homemade speciality food at a reasonable prize. Definitely will be back.
I ate here with a group of 8 others and we were all pampered by the server there. A great spot for kids and families, we were able to enjoy some of the amenities and games here, too. We ordered punch bowls of some cocktails that were creative and delicious. Be wary, there were NO BEEF burgers on the menu, but several other types of burgers were available. Definitely an out of the box experience!
Great people, great food. I would go here everyday, all the time, forever if I could.
If you do nothing else here, get sthg with the pork belly I was pleasantly surprised that I ordered extra with my breakfast platter. They also have a delicious mimosa called the Tangmosa that is simple yet great and complimented my meal really well.
It was just ok. I had the brisket sandwich. Lots of fat. Bread was good and the mixed berry Jam on top was good. I wanted to love it! Just couldn't get pass all the fat. The side of popcorn was meh....I couldn't eat it. I really wanted to like the place. Unique combinations of flavors, fun atmosphere, and friendly staff but the food was meh!
Dope creations down to earth owner good vibe and great food
The sliders are okay things are a bit pricey but not to bad for a newly opened store.
Good food. Fried oysters were very good. Spinach salad was delicious.
Chris & Aly dun did it again! I felt like I was back at Grammys for chicken dinner while I watched “Hoosiers” and gobbled down biscuits. The cheesecake is stupid good.
What a quality and phenomenal restaurant. Always unique but supremely delicious sandwiches. There are a few different choices every day with types of food you have never had before. Succulent meats, powerful cheese, and varied breads make these sandwiches the best of the best.
disgusting food. ordered the biscuit and gravy and was extremely disappointed. worst I've ever tasted. boyfriend ordered the pork belly sandwich with popcorn. popcorn was stale and apple butter was extremely overpowering. couldnt even finish our meals. bottom line too much money for gross food.
I trepidatiously ordered the Pork Tongue Sandwich. Amazing! Great flavor combinations. I will def be back!!
Always a phenomenal place to visit. The owners and service are fantastic and the food...OMG. just go ya'll. Just go.
I always get the biscuits and gravy because it's deeeelicious! Been multiple times and it is always top quality.
Although we didn't eat there the hospitality is far greater than any major chains would give you.
Enormous amount of fried trout on Friday "Fryday!" Attentive aervice. Will return!
Don't trick yourself that you're gonna eat healthy here, but it's worth it.
Amazing food and owners!!
I had the pork belly sandwich the other day and it might've been the best sandwich I've ever had. The service was very fast which was surprising given the complex nature of their sandwiches and meals. I will definitely be back.
This is the coolest spot in the city. Best slider in the world, don't care where you been out where you're from, best slider in the world.
Amazing food, amazing staff. They went above and beyond to make us happy. Honestly we would have been fine if the woman behind the counter smacked us in the face as she took our order then the gentleman in the back brought out our food and verbally assaulted our character. Because the food was just that good.
Thought I was playing it safe ordering the tenderloin. Not impressed very overcooked. First bite totally fat. But the other 8 I lunched with were more adventurous with the eclectic offerings which they all loved. So lesson is don't settle on what you think is safe be adventurous here out of your comfort zone and you won't be disappointed.
Been here twice now. Each time has been awesome. Got to meet the owners during my second visit. Loved hearing their story and I could see their passion. If you visit, try the biscuits and gravy with pork belly or the biscuits sandwich.
Chicken schnitzel waffle...So good!
Coffe was great. Atmosphere was comfortable and interesting. Food was cold and bland and service was inattentive. Would not recommend or return. Very disappointed.
As a picky eater, I had trouble finding something to try. They have a small, unique menu. Not my cup of tea, but I'm sure others would love it.
This is the dining equivalent of "A Princess Bride", i.e. inconceivably good!
Great food,good location
Just not my cup of tea, people are always friendly. I had biscuit and gravy, not any gravy I've ever had, not a fan.
The menu is small but everything on it was superb! This place is definitely not afraid to be weird and that's part of the appeal.
This place is amazing! Everything on the menu is incredible and hands down best B+G's in town.
Felt like home. Amazing food, stunning VHS visuals
Chicken of the woods on the menu equals my respect. They serve Tinker coffee!!
Delicious food. Friendly owners. Not in the greatest part of town. Would still recommend.
Biscuits and gravy. Just get em, you won't be sorry.
I wanted to love this place but they are trying too hard. The multiple combinations of ingredients and sauces/spreads in each dish takes its toll. Nothing basic on the menu for dining companions who aren't adventurous either.
I live there retro vibe to this place and the food is sooo tasty. Not ultra healthy but definitely delicious and filling. Kinda French cuisine meets southern cooking? Anyway the staff are friendly too! Try the biscuits and gravy - it's awesome! The rest of the menu rotates.
Reasonably steep prices. But man is it worth it. You get what you pay for. This guy knows his way around a pig! Delicious!
Incredible food, especially if you're looking for unusual items. Had the sweetbreads for brunch which I had never tried before and was immediately sold on them. Oyster sandwich was well done, large frying oysters well crisped with slaw. Atmosphere is unique - they show old movies on the wall. Will definitely be on our brunch rotation.
Not sure why they're open till 10pm. Sold out of most things before noon, so be sure to show up early.
Unique sandwiches, unique flavor combinations, all made with unique meats. Fantastic if you are game for the different. Leave the picky eaters at home and make a trip.
Great as always
Just go. The food is incredible, the people are great. I can't say enough about how much I love the food here. Very unique offerings for breakfast and lunch. You'll have options that are familiar in name, but very unique in execution. now my mouth is watering.
Great food for adventurous foodies. Loved it!
Delicious breakfast food!
Perfect hole in the wall place for people who like to try new things. They have a very small menu but what they do have they've MASTERED. I enjoyed their pork belly breakfast sliders and could not get enough of the Carmel syrup that coated the homemade biscuit. My husband enjoyed his sandwich as well (I couldn't get over the texture of the cow tongue). The style of decor is unique and the couple who run it are very sweet. Support your local businesses and give this one a try!
Easily one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. At a reasonable price too
Always great food... and people!
If you are looking for a traditional breakfast don't stop here. Worst breakfast we have had in years. No salt, pepper, sweetner, butter, tea or even bacon. But lots of hot sause and honey. Biscuits and eggs were burnt, and the sausage was pure fat. Just gross. I don't know how they got their rating on google 4.6 but they couldn't be legit.
Standard eclectic hipster atmosphere and decent food. Nothing to write home about, though, and you could get more impressive food in larger portions (likely for less money) elsewhere. Staff was kind and everything was clean. It was not busy when we were there so while nothing took a long time, one of the three of us did wait about twice as long for her meal, despite us all ordering simultaneously and on the same check.
Great spot. Take advantage if you can.
Great service. Good food. A little over-priced
Amazing food. Schnitzel waffle was amazing!
Love Handle serves up creative and challenging takes on diner classics like biscuits & gravy and (protein) & waffle. Some of this stuff is not for the faint of heart! Highly recommended if you are looking for something a little different. Love Handle earns 4 stars for its food and a bonus star for sticking to its guns.
Great costumer service and goodish food. Fish fry Friday is really good. Small portions, so go for the big special if you have an appetite. Some sauses need more flavor to match the fried fishiness. Good selections for local drinks. They play movies. And a great location.
Good food, great for a quick breakfast
They always know exactly what I want to eat.
Delicious. Got the biscuits with mushroom gravy. Never had a better vegetarian breakfast
Always amazing and if you haven’t had a Tangmosa are you really living?
To die for food.
Clean your friers and put some ice in that water jug. Place could be really good
Amazing pork belly sandwich
Wonderful breakfast/brunch location with an interesting variety of food combinations. I had prime rib on waffles with a fried egg. It as absolutely incredible! Highly recommend this place for breakfast/brunch. They also were showing old movies on a projector, really cool place.
Popped in here a couple months ago on recommendation. Very Unique and Solid food. I'm a pretty big fan on anywhere that serves up pork cheek. Need to make it out there again soon!
Pork Palace, every plate prepared with pure love. Always unique, always tasty. Chris goes to 11.
Best thing I ever ate. The menu might be a bit strange to read at first for the unadventurous but you can't go wrong with anything you pick. Especially the biscuits and gravy or tht biscuit slider. So delicious. I come back every Sunday for breakfast.
unreal - great to have a unique spot like this in Indy from people who get it. whatever open faced salmon sandwich i just demolished was delicious.
A little expensive but the food is worth it.
Biscuit sandwich was on the smaller size but very good. The pork belly slab was delicious and very high-quality, very little fat and cooked very well.
Damn good breakfast place. I discovered it today on my way home from work and I think it just became my new favorite.
Food was very good, change of pace comfort food!!
OMG this place was very over priced and not worth the money at all. Kids got.2 half orders of biscuits and gravy 1 coffee $18. Hubby got half order of biscuits and gravy I got biscuit with fried egg and cheese 2 coffees $20 freaking dollars r u kidding me WILL NEVER BE BACK... GRAVY WAS SPICY AND SWEET TOGETHER FAVORS DO NOT GO TOGETHER
THIS IS STRICTLY A MEAT ONLY PLACE. IF YOU ARE VEGETARIAN OR VEGAN YOU CANNOT EAT HERE. I really wish they would advertise that abundantly and clearly so as to help with decision making when choosing a place to eat.
Give it up for this hip spot off Mass Ave. serving up some delicious comfort food! Today I had the sweetbreads and waffles with hot honey and gojuchang butter...also the buffalo gizzards. Delicious...everything was delicious. Sweetbreads we're perfectly fried and seasoned and the honey and butter married it all together...I would suggest adding less honey and let the customer do it to their liking
Great place with great food!
Excellent biscuits and breakfast. Very accommodating. Great coffee too. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and staff was kind and helpful.
Love love love this place. One of the best local eats in Indy! Their atmosphere is relaxing and their staff is friendly. Whenever I want to impress someone visiting town, I ALWAYS take them here!
Excellent place! Stopped by on our way through town on a road trip and enjoyed a fabulous meal & chat with the owner. Definitely worth a visit!
Eh.....not sure how this place got 4.5 stars. Server/counter person/table buser was very nice. Retro ambiance was fun but music choice not so much (screaming woman punk type?). Food is not that great. Waffle was soggy. My hubby was not impressed with the biscuits and gravy. About 40 minutes to get my waffle....45 to get hubby's food.
Love the pork belly and popcorn and old movies. Nicest accommodating owners.
Very interesting when it comes to the decor of the inside. The food is a little overpriced for the quality. The main reason I’m giving 2 stars is for service. The man who took our order was not very polite and seemed a little on edge/rude. I get people have bad days, but your customers should always come first. The biscuits and gravy recipe needs to be changed, was looking forward to it but left disappointed. /: Overall, not very impressed.
Nice sandwich and breakfast options
This place is my favorite sandwich shop in indy. I miss the popcorn side with yeast, but I still love all aspects about this place. The owners are friendly and accommodate my quirky requests. The changing menu keeps me coming back to try new stuff! My favorite is the braised beef tongue (don't knock it til you try it) with any cheese and spicy sauce mix with veggies and arugula or others greens.
Usually great food. But insane waits. Almost 45 minutes for a sandwich, and all the orders came out separately. Trout sandwich was very poor.
Best vegetarian biscuits and gravy in town! Small business with a unique menu that changes. Call a head to make sure they offer what you want. Service is fast. When I went to their new location on Mass Ave. They were showing a movie for customers, "Planet of the Apes." Breakfast and a movie? They are a winner in my book!
Very interesting! Didn’t think I would like it. But the meat was tender and delicious!
Biscuits and gravy are my go-to breakfast food, so the spicy biscuits and gravy were right in my wheel house. Drinking some Tang instead of orange juice really took me back to the olden days. We are definitely coming back because there were quite a few more things on the menu we wanted to try!
Worst palace I ever ate at , chicken was not seasoned at all. Asked for bread and never gotten it. The drink (coke) was the best thing .
My son and I walked over to this restaurant from our Airbnb this morning. We went up to the counter and asked about vegan options. The lady behind the counter said that there was only one vegan item on the menu, it was a side dish (I think it was pickles). We waited a bit, because usually at this point the server will suggest something like “substitute mushrooms for the egg and leave out the cheese,” or whatever makes sense to make the vegitarian option vegan. She suggested we go somewhere else. Waffle House was delicious.
Very little in the way of traditional breakfast options. This place crosses the line from quirky to weird. I can see how it appeals to adventurous diners who want something off-the-wall but it wasn’t for us. Price point too high for the fare, in my opinion.
Waffle with egg and pork belly is amazing. Very clean and great environment. Have been several times and zero complaints!!
Cool spot for cool cats. Unique eats and drinks with a movie projector, clean facility with interesting and eccentric decor
Chris was great explaining all the menu options. What a cool place with good food great atmosphere. Love the Bruce Lee movie playing on the wall.
Funky space and nice folks, but the price is not commensurate with the fare.
Great B&G
Beef tongue and eggs, molasses butter toast was fantastic. Good peeps too!
The place is really neat, and the menu was.. interesting. I really wish we had some heads up on the bacon jam on the cheesecake... I don't think that's an impression I can wipe off my memory now.
Great atmosphere and food. Pork belly on my mushroom biscuits & gravy. Amazazing!
Friendly service and good food!
Love handle is a unique place. The biscuits and gravy alone make it worth a visit. You won't be disappointed.
nice people. nice people. world class B.n.Gs
Cool concept for a restaurant. I don’t know if it was short staffed or Sunday was a busy day for breakfast here. Nonetheless, it took an hour or so to get our food, which was one waffle and a slider. Not much options for vegetarians and vegans. Water dispenser kept running out and not replenished enough. Just had to eat more food after I left here.
Lovely staff. Best biscuits and gravy ever!
This place is incredible. It has a retro vibe and they show old movies on the wall. You'll find food options that you won't find anywhere else.
Must try! Interesting and different menu.
Wonderful late lunch. Food options unique, and delicious!
If the dude wasn't super friendly with awesome service, I'd give this a 1 star. At the very least, this guy might brighten your day but the food, not so much. Personally, I'm all for trying new things and being a bit weird but this menu felt like it was being weird for the sake for being weird.
Menu is unusual but food is good. It is self serve.
Endearingly kitschy but not over the top. Delicious, creative food. Come hungry...it's heavy stuff.
Awesome place for breakfast
This is a hit or miss. Anything with the pork belly tends to be good. Anything w fish tends to be terrible. The waffle, butter, and sauce is pretty fire!
Some of the best and most unique breakfast food I've had in Indy. Competes with Milktooth for sure. The menu changes often so not helpful to say what I enjoyed but these people know how to create and cook...and have a small menu so you are safe with whatever you get.
Very unpretentious place with high quality food. If they had white table colths it would cost 3 times as much. There is a open hipster feel to the restaurant. Customers were openly talking about the food with each other. In fact we shared our bowl of chicken gizzards with lady next to us. This is a must try place. We drove an hour to eat here and will be back. The Jellied egg was over the top good. Oh, Ally the hostess/server/owner is very laid-back and cool. Would like to hear her and her husband's stories....
This is the best sandwich spot in Indy. The menu is constantly changing, but you can always count on them having hearty sandwiches that will stick to your bones. You'll usually find selections featuring savory meats like pork belly, beef tongue, or pork heart, mixed with great homemade sauces and locally sourced veggies. And the biscuits and gravy is killer. Love is in the name and represented in the food.
4 of us visited. 4 of us got items that we would never eat again. (Pork belly on waffle = rolled pork fat on waffle; shrimp roll had old shrimp; fish was gamey/bad; deep fried chicken was over-cooked) For the price, I would expect excellent food. Bad food at a high price is not a good combination.
The bread pudding is the best breakfast!
Delicious breakfast
I ate all of my breakfast and drank some water that had plants in it. Then I had coffee, it was adequately satisfactory. I will come back for certain, this is the closest restaurant to my house. They played girl punk in the love handle.
Please go eat here!!!!!!! I stumbled upon this place while searching my new neighborhood. I was pleasantly surprised by wonderful customer service and an amazing menu. It's a Friday, so I was blessed with the Fish fry menu and boy was I blessed. The options were so unique; red snapper, mackerel, and smelt. When I got the food, everything was perfectly hot and very flavorful. The fries had perfect seasoning and the fish was fried lightly, yet crispy. Such a great blend! I will definitely be back.
Super friendly staff, laid back environs with a straight forward but quality and innovative menu. These people kick ass.
When you just can't handle the morning... there's one place to go! When the menu is small & changes weekly, you know it's good! Love Handle has trumped the skill of soooo much flavor in a little bite. Their sliders are always a must when I'm making a stop here. Although it changes every week you will always get delicious flavor, local flare, served up on a homemade biscuit. Slide on over and get one before they're gone! These babies never last long. Chef Chris Benedyk doesn't miss a "beet," always serving up a delicious concoction of fresh innovative flavors, using local produce & meat. This beet hash was my jam. Delicious beet hash, seared salty pork cheek, perfectly cooked sunny side egg, and a side of crispy toast topped with apple butter and pork reduction butter. Update: Love Handle 2.0 now located at Mass Avea The space and the menu are a little bit bigger, but every bite is still on point with concoctions of flavor combinations and delicious local product! Spring is here and love is in the air, at least at the south end, you can smell the deliciousness! Now this is how you do brunch! Put aside that basic b breakfast and step it up for your tastebuds, after all they do a lot for you! A delicious and inventive brunch menu that seamlessly transforms into delicious dinner fare. Using local product and house made sauces, Chef Benedyk creates a unique, quarky, crace worthy menu. From hardy sammies, and stick to your ribs specials (like fish fridays), you won't leave hungry, only wondering what have you been doing with your life! They also feature local tinker coffee, beer, wine, and even a few cocktails! Like their Tangquet, only brilliant revolusionists in the culinary world would think of such a thing a TANGQUET! Who needs O.J, when you have a sweet sour boozy concoction like this! We usually end up getting one "entree" with a couple sides. Which are barely though of as a "simple side." A variety of eggs (chicken, turkey, & duck) try em one, try em all! Crispy pork belly amd a variety of norm amd adnorm options. Today we went with a duck egg, it's much larger than a chicken egg amd has a hardier wilder flavor. It's brightly colored yolk is sure a show stopper! Beautiful sunny side duck eggs, you think you know eggs - then you taste this guy! Bacon takes a back seat to breakfast here! Side of yummy pork belly please! One you go belly, you never go back. Our main event tonight was the chicken schnitzel! A buttery crisp waffle topped with a crispy salty chicken schnitzel a dollop with miso tangy lime butter and dripping with sweet and spicy hot honey spun my taste buds into euphoria! Chef Chris & Ally have a view on food like no one else! Who would have thought lime butter chicken and waffles? Um they did and I'm singing praises! Their new location has plenty of seating, so bring the whole fam! Keep an eye out for their special movie nights and other events. Come with an open mind amd empty belly and I promise you won't be disappointed!
Unique sandwich combinations that make you wonder what other flavors you've been missing in your sandwiches!
Great Cooked to Order Unique Fresh Menu! Went with some Gents from work on a recommendation from a trusted source and I must say we were not disappointed. Definitely going back to try the Biscuits and Gravy Soon! Lunch was Very Tasty!
Delish but expensive
Food looks amazing, menu is fine for me; but the rents and I were looking for a light lunch. Their fb page showed cheap beer specials and google has them at one $. I assume there is a wormhole involved in that calculation because prices would only be one dollar sign in a place like off-broadway Manhattan. I would come back here but the $ informs what kind of food is available so it was very confusing to see the menu was all super premium foodie stuff.
For me, this wasn't worth the price. If you're REALLY into the kind of meat they have - pork belly, sweet meats, etc. - maybe it's worth it. But otherwise, not enough options for me or any typical group I might come in with for a breakfast I really felt like paying $15 for. Pork belly was just too much fat to eat the entire thing so I didn't finish my meal. Plus you order @ counter, they didn't have decaf, serve yourself water... Again, to me not a $15/plate experience. Nice people tho and it could be a cool concept.
