Here you have all the reviews of real people like you who know the products of Henry\'s Coffee Bistro (Coffee Shop) near to the state of Indiana.
At this moment this firm receives a score of 4.3 stars over 5 and the score has been based on 172 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is really good, and it is based on a very large number of reviews, so we may conclude that the score is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they've done well, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to write feddbacks when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Coffee Shop corresponds to the category of Cafe.
The coffee is always delicious, but the service seems to be declining. Each time I've visited over the last year, the baristas act like I'm a bother by just approaching the register. I don't think I received a greeting or a thank you. If you're really busy, I would suggest two employees at all times instead of one clearly overworked barista.
Wonderful locally owned business for coffee and delicious. Make Henry's apart of your regular stops.
Best coffee shop in Indy!
It looks like the menu is getting larger all the time. Very friendly staff as well.
Just enough off Mass Ave that there is minimal noise and a good size crowd. Great coffee and variety of menu options.
Impression: Large coffee serving area with friendly service. Plenty of places to sit if its not crowded (kind of an obvious statement). There is a review that says its a "warm and comfy place".... but I disagree. It almost felt industrial or "new" in its feel... even though its been here a long time. When I say industrial, when I have gone to this location I feel cold inside. Maybe they have changed decor, who knows. Pros: Coffee is good, barista is nice, sandwiches are good. Plenty of places to sit and read the newspaper if you want. You won't feel rushed. This is a great location to go for coffee in the morning during warm weather with their patio. Its a GREAT patio to just sit, drink your joe, and read the newspaper. Cons: Doesn't give a warm, fireside feeling. It feels kind of like a starbucks... but even kind of colder. Like there aren't many decorations/shelves or things to give it a "living" feeling. There could be a lot done with this location to make it feel eclectic and neat. If it is busy, it would be quite noisy as there is nothing to dampen the sound. Conclusion: Its a nice location but I don't find myself going there very often. The sandwiches/paninis were good but nothing earth shattering. That being said, its a coffee shop, the focus should be on coffee.. and it luckily is. I enjoyed the barista as they are attentive, but also left me to my own vices. Great for: small group of friends wanting coffee on a patio, husband/wife/significant other wanting to sit outside and drink coffee and enjoy each others company and conversation
Best coffee around, friendly employees
Great for lunch sandwiches. I could hang out here all day sipping on coffee.
Look no further for your hole in the wall coffee spot. It has everything you'd expect, good drinks, beer and wine, light lunch and snacks, and of course coffee. It feels great to do business and interact with the owner(s?) as well, rather than just giving money to anothee corporation. Friendly and welcoming, 5 stars.
Nice place
Love the food. Very comfortable atmosphere
Love this place for brunch. Nice little patio on a quiet street. Friendly staff, great place to bring your pup. I see they now are open later on weekends and serve alcohol, I'll be back to check that out.
Been coming to Henry's for a decade, enjoying the incremental positive changes all the while. Solid food, great selection, snappy espresso, and an actual human being behind the counter. Here is a place where the owner knows your name, a place where you can hide and get serious work done. A place modeled more on the old coffee houses of Europe, not the sleek commerce pipe of Starbucks. I'd say this is a coffee house for grown ups. Oh, and do stop in for the revolving local art show that adorns the walls!
One of my favorite places to grab a cafe lunch in the city. The food and coffee are wonderful. I've never had a bad experience there. It's a bit too noisy at times to write, but it's perfect for getting some work done or reading.
Very cool place where they have excellent cinnamon rolls and huge cups of coffee. The owner, Mike, was very friendly and knew almost every person walking thru the door. Will definitely be making more visits in the future.
A real find just off of Mass. Ave. A nice menu variety always served fresh. Mike is always on top of it. They are open for breakfast and lunch only.
I had the egg ham and cheese sandwich and it was a little disappointing. Not much flavor, not enough ham and cheese. Coffee was good
Both of our plates had huge chips in them. No refills on coffee unless you purchase a large size, THEN, It's 75 cents. When you finish eating, you carry your dishes back up to the register. The food wasn't that great. (Veggie Quiche) No thanks!
Huge coffee mugs and best chili around!
Henry's is always good . Great place for coffee or a quick bite to eat.
Not a place that is interested in customer satisfaction. If you have a problem they WILL NOT FIX IT! They argue with the customer and believe they are right and the customer is wrong! I have been a long time customer of Henry's. I order the same thing every time I go yogurt parfait and earl grey tea. Depending on the server the yogurt parfait is different amounts. When I asked why was my portion less than usual I was confronted with an attitude and arguments. I said I can't believe you are arguing with the customer instead of offering to fix the mistake. Talking to the manager was not any better. He continued to argue with me and I was stuck paying over 4 dollars for two spoonful's of yogurt.
Great chicken pesto panini, and an awesome 4 shot medium latte for under $4(espresso) total Bill was less than $13 Nice shaded outdoor seating too. Wish they had hours of operation on the window.
Everything subpar. I had a bagel with cream cheese and a large latte. I ordered a garlic bagel and was given an everything bagel. The side of cream cheese that came with the bagel was very small and the bagel itself was average at best. Worse than that was the latte which tasted like stale coffee with some milk foam on the top. The atmosphere of the restaurant was a little homey, and a little cheap. Won't be going back unless it's out of necessity.
The young folks working here are happy and full of great energy! Coffee was good!
Interior seemed cold and still, even when filled with cutomers. Staff didn't smile, but the weren't unpleasant. Something like having your service provided by a robot.
Great food at great prices. Excellent customer service And they were fast
Love coming here when in Indy
If you like paninis this is your place. They have a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, and if you catch them on the right day some delicious soup. Mike is the owner and he really makes you feel welcomed. Keep in mind this is not fast food, so don’t get mad if you can’t just walk right, order, and walk right out in less than 5mins (Obviously quick stuff like coffee or pastries you can). Take a breather from the fast pace and stop in and enjoy this quaint little spot. Food suggestion: Tuna Panini, it’s spot on!
Great patio, great food, friendly staff. I really like this place for brunch and my dog likes the patio.
Friendly, courteous service. You feel right at home here.
Great place! Quality food, coffee, and company. Outside area is perfect for a quiet coffee and meal. Variety of options, breakfast and lunch. 10/10!
Henry's is a wonderful coffee shop and eatery that offers a quaint, local vibe (personalized service), which is ideal for small meetings or a cozy lunch. The coffee is outstanding and the food is too. I have stuck with the various panini's, as they are all delicious! Give this place a try; it's one of Indy's best kept secrets.
It was pretty awful and disappointing. I grabbed a seat outside hoping I could get some emails out of the way before my appointment arrived. I walked in for a split second to ask for the wifi information and the gentlemen assisting me (not sure if he was the owner or not, but he was an older fellow with just a super crabby attitude in the morning or maybe always) and before he gave me what I needed he asked me if I was going to order anything. I found it weird that he was asking me that right after he heard my question, but understood that maybe he does get a lot of people that just hang out in his space. I said yes and that I was waiting on someone before I ordered. He gave me the wifi password, but still, I couldn't connect (POOR WIFI, y'all). I came back inside and asked him again in case the password was wrong and he asked me "Do you REALLY have someone coming?" I looked him directly in the eye (yes, I was pissed and offended... rude dude for real) and said yes. At this point I wasn't necessarily feeling welcomed. He got defensive and tried to justify his rude and unprofessional behavior. Anyway, my appointment finally got there and we placed an order, but in all reality, I should have just left. Didn't want to make it uncomfortable for my appointment nor the crabby person at the register so early on a Friday morning. Take your money elsewhere. Preferably to a business that actually makes you feel welcomed as well as others. I understand that there's a lot of loitering in downtown, but come on man. I clearly had a computer out and it was obvious that I was waiting on someone.
Great little place for breakfast or lunch. Delicious food that won’t break the bank. Great coffee, food, atmosphere and service! Definitely a worth a trip, sitting outside here is nice as well.
Great drip coffee.
Nasty place and people
Great service, amazing place.
I have frequented this place for many years. I feel it has gone downhill. I probably drop in 1-2 times a month and it seems like there is a new rule every time I come. Also, I hear customers being given a list of the coffee rules when I go. If you go, make sure you know The Rules because they will likely repeat them for you. Many new customers comment about list of rules. No refills or discounted fills here, even for regulars.
Convenient downtown spot. Good coffee and ok menu of small food.
Quaint and nice, owners clearly have a passion for this place
Good quiche. Great tea. Good atmosphere. It adds up to a grand Saturday morning!
Took a large group of hungry teenage girls here last minute. The workers were welcoming, and efficient. The food was declicius, and the service was awesome. We had a great time! Thanks.
This place is wonderful. Everyone needs to try this place if they are looking for coffee and/or brunch!!!
Wonderful food reasonably priced.
Henry was very rude. He couldve handled being busy in a much more respectable way.
I really want to like this place. I do. It’s in a cute spot, and I love coffee shops. But honestly the service is so unbelievably bad. I’m not usually a stickler for service, but anyone would take notice here. I’ve had my food forgotten about on many occasions, and I’m met with frustration when I ask about it. Do yourself a favor and head down the street to Coat Check Coffee instead.
Henry's was a great brunch stop. Was busy so the slower service wasn't as big of a detractor. The coffee I stole from my friend was really amazing. Will be back to get my own cup.
Mike was very friendly and welcoming. Peaceful atmosphere and the food was great! Try to citrus summer cheesecake!!! Today was my first day towards becoming a regular :)
Great food, great coffee, and awesome atmosphere!!! Free WiFi to customers!
Friendly local spot with very strong coffee. Their lattes are delicious. It has a very relaxed and comfortable vibe. The baristas are quick making drinks but can get bogged down with food when they get busy.
This is a hidden gem. Good food. Pleasant atmosphere. Everything is made when you order. Good quality.
Great coffee. Amazing place. Peaceful place. Sitting section was beautiful and comfortable.
Henry's is great. Wide open & accessible, the coffee is tasty, the food options are many, & the cinnamon roll was fantastic. The dining area is perfect for walkers, canes, & wheelchair using customers. The owner is pro and friendly, just ask for whatever you may need. The prices were fair & reasonable. Everything is dressed at order so make sure to have a minute to spare, it will not be wasted.
This is my go to spot for a light lunch. The food is so good!! Nothing too complicated, but has little added ingredients that take it to the next level. I love their patio, so i always sit outside if I can. A great place to be a regular!
Worth the walk from Hyatt Regency downtown to experience this jewel. Great service and food.
Loved this place! Great, friendly service and the food and coffee were great. Will definitely be back.
Very dusty. Every flat surface seemed to be covered in dust. The coffee was decent. Staff were stressed by an influx of patrons. But, their “iced coffee” is just espresso!
Screaming "I FREAK'N LOVE THIS PLACE". I eat here often. And maybe to much. Dirty Turkey and Asian slaw to die for.
Their food is great! I get their coffee pretty regularly, too, and I've never had a bad experience. Good place to do work, with free wifi and it's not usually too busy.
I loved coming to this restaurant. The food is so good, service with a smile. And the girl behind the counter is so funny and cute. This is a great atmosphere.
Food is awesome, drinks are always on point, and the staff is super friendly!!
Nice people, good coffee, and a mean breakfast burrito! What more can you ask for!
Nice cafeteria☕️
I would stop in to Henry's every couple weekends to get the spinach, feta and egg sandwich on a croissant. Hands down best breakfast sandwich in Indianapolis. Henry actually mans the counter in the mornings; he's owned the place for a couple years and makes some great food. tl;dr: Good food, good coffee, and a small town atmosphere in the big city. Get the spinach, feta, and egg croissant sandwich
Friendly atmosphere, fast WiFi, the best dirty chai in town@
Awesome place close to downtown with a small town feel!
The coffee was good but the barista, skinny old dude with a bald head and glasses, was extremely rude. I used to love going to Henry's but don't think I'll be going back any time soon.
Really good ppl and even better food!!!!! They put Starbucks to shame.
Visited during a business trip and staying @ Nestle Inn. Hot chocolate was amazing and food was even better!
Pleasant atmosphere. Great coffee and goodies
My go-to coffee shop in the downtown area! Staff is always very friendly and the owner takes special interest in getting to know the regulars. Their sandwiches are awesome and they're also one of the few places I've encountered that makes a perfect iced coffee; nice and strong to offset the ice watering it down.
Service was rude and sub par, not well air conditioned or heated, they made my sandwich wrong when I had specifically asked for it to be made a certain way. Would not go here again, would not recommend coming here.
For me, a cinnamon roll is an awesome morning treat. At Henry's they have a great one. Its the only coffee shot which I am aware of to carry them. They have a larger selection of food but I always go with the cinnamon roll. Street parking along East on their block is free which is nice as I normally get everything to go. Only 1 roast option for drip coffee, which could be a put off to some but I don't mind it.
I had my first visit here today. Super negative vibe from the woman who took our order. Waited for a long time for our food (actually still waiting). Doesn't really matter if the coffee/food is good or bad. With so many other fun, hip and friendly places on Mass Ave I highly doubt I'll ever be back. Too bad since we live just 2 blocks away
I was disappointed with my tex Mex quiche. I think it was only egg. There was no sausage spinach red onion tomato and no flavor. I think who ever made it forgot to add the everything but the eggs. The burritos looked really good though .
The food is pricey for a college kid but it's honestly so good!
I was sitting outside at one of the tables and the entire area was empty and not much traffic was in the shop. I was working on my laptop using my own hotspot when a lady said the manager said i couldn't work here because it was for customers only. And the only reason I hadn't bought something is because I had stopped drinking coffee for a week and had just eaten lunch. So i was forced to either leave or purchase something. I have been coming to this shop since I was 7 and lately the service has decreased.
Great service and great coffee and cappachino
Very rude service, seemed like you were inconveniencing them by ordering or asking for anything.
Good panini sandwiches awesome avacado aoili
Coffee was good, the staff was not so welcoming. and the bread pudding was not good at all. It might of been that we had to go up and ask where our desert was after they served two people after we ordered ours. They then preceded to use the mayo knife to cut the bread pudding and my take is microwaved bread pudding is not so good laced with mayo.
Staff friendly and clean. Always wear plastic gloves. Only minutes from iupui .coffee and bkft.served all day. Great menu
This is a charming spot with great outdoor seating. I find the food to be the main focus and the coffee to be secondary. The cold brew has been hit or miss. The last one I had was pretty bitter. Other coffee drinks have been just OK. I would love to come and enjoy the seating area for work but the coffee isn't good enough for me to dedicate a couple of hours to this spot.
Thank you for the fantastic experience, hospitality, good food, and great conversation. Having traveled from the west coast this Bistro made me feel right at home.
Cute little spot with really good coffee and solid menu for a light lunch, brunch, or breakfast. Enjoyed the service and had a nice little conversation with the owner.
Nice place to grab a coffee and even stay for food. The food is good! Easy place to take up post and get a little work done.
Excellent chai and bacon and egg sandwiches!! The sandwich was HUGE. I ended up taking it home and having it for 2 meals!. Friendly staff, good atmosphere
Henry’s is a great little spot just off Mass Ave! It’s usually a pretty quiet atmosphere with WiFi for those looking to set up and work a bit while enjoying a good coffee or a bite to eat. The food is all fresh made and there are plenty of options for all. The breakfast, sandwiches, salads are all great! I also love that most times you’ll find the owner/operator here making things fresh and stopping to talk with customers! Henry’s is a charming local spot great for a nice lunch or brunch!
Very nice place! Very good service! Friendly staff! Very clean.
Just went there today for the first time today. The coffee was good. My husband got the dirty Turkey and I got the California Turkey and we split them halvies. The Turkey was extremely processed deli Turkey, which I expected to be deli Turkey but it was low quality deli Turkey. For a sandwich that cost over $8 I expected it to be a little better quality. The California Turkey said it had avocado on it and it only had the smallest smear of a avocado spread on part of the bread. The dirty Turkey was very heavy on the aoli and was a bit to much for me but my husband enjoyed it. Might be back for coffee but probably not for food.
Strongest coffee in town
Amazing atmosphere and outstanding service! Truly a hidden gem! I am overly excited to share my experience with my coworkers and friends. This will be my go-to for any and every social gathering I have in the future
Great food and coffee and great service.
Kinda blah neighborhood coffee shop. 15ish tables varying size. Several outlets. Free wi-fi with password you need to ask for. Soft rock on audio a bit loud. Linoleum floor. Local art on walls. Small selection of routine bagged tea. A few tired plastic wrapped cookies and rolls. Extensive lunchy menu - really more a lunch place than a coffee shop.
The greatest little nook off Mass Ave — what you expect from a neighborhood coffeeshop: a place to relax and/or get things done. The food is delicious and the service is professional. Keep Indy great by continuing to support businesses like Henry’s!
Really delicious mocha, not so great breakfast burritos, they were mostly just egg...
Walked by this one day with a friend & decided to step in & order a penni. Very friendly staff & amazing food. You can easily split a meal between 2 people.
First time visit on Sat. a.m. 5/7/16. Short guy w ball cap I presume to be owner a bit arrogant. Staff not happy or atleast cant fake happy. Food so-so, quiche hot, coffee decent. Liked the big mug. But I had to bring my own plate inside afterwards, nobody apologized or said, thanks, no staff came out to ck on me or do refill on coffee. Parking non existant!
Great local coffee spot. Friendly service and fun location.
Great coffee. Good placed to meet friends and chat. Wifi.
Super friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Nice patio. Dog friendly. Great reading spot.
The staff is always very welcoming and they have the best paninis and deserts! Love it!
It has a small cozy feel to it and my coffee was actually good. Had a bagel and cream cheese and enjoyed that too. Staff was friendly and service was quick.
My cappuccino was just okay. I was expecting the inside of this coffee shop to be a little more cozy, but instead it was cold and had almost a messy appearance to it. I couldn't understand what the girl was saying who was ringing me up because whatever they were doing in the back was so loud that I couldn't hear what anyone was saying to me. I was disappointed in my experience.
The weekend brunch is what I live for. The staff is always nice, and very welcoming.
Very friendly staff! Great food great hand crafted beverages!
This place offers consistently bad service! Got a hair in my sandwich on two separate occasions. The third (and last visit) was for coffee and they ignored me standing at the cash register for several minutes. No one even said "Hello" or "We'll be with you in a second".
Awesome people - great place to be a "regular"!
Good coffee
Food is prepared well and is tasty. But I hate ordering at the counter and having to answer twenty questions about how I want my breakfast bagel. I'd rather say a number 4 with scrambled and coffee.
The food is great and the service is awesome!
love this place - which is why i am so disappointed to hear that a long term employee has left. I understand that people come and go everyday in business but the reason i have been told as to why this employee left is very troubling Apparently the owner of the shop told employees that when the owner is in the shop, and feels the need, that the owner will take a substantial portion (up to 50%) of the employee tips. I don't like it when bars do tip sharing although i know that's fairly common too. Its even more troubling because i enjoy Henry's and this will make going there not an option If this is simply tip sharing and he (as the owner) only benefits when he is working behind the counter along with any other counter employees then while again not crazy about tip sharing i can at least understand it. However i feel It's 100% improper for an owner to take part of the tips from servers. If the owner does not want the servers to receive the tips then simply pay the workers a reasonable and non-tip-dependent wage and truly make the tips icing on the cake and then split tips however all parties agree at time of hiring. Tips are not a world wide practice. For example in Sydney as an example tips don’t exist wages are paid accordingly and patrons don’t feel the need to pay tips. Alternatively as the owner if he feels his prices are not sufficient then he can raise the prices and leave the tips alone. I hope the owner responds... but for right now henry's is off my favorites list and i will share this with all of my friends and stop suggesting it to my downtown clients
Good coffee shop, with always place to sit.
Great little place! My coffee cup was cracked, so it dribbled my Americano on the table while I wasn't drinking it, so that, and the silverware handles being kind of greasy, are the only reasons I'm not giving 5 stars. Veggie quiche was really good, and they panini press their bagels, so they're toasted on both sides. 9/10, would dine again.
This is a lovely coffee shop! The food is excellent and the coffee is very good as well. The owner is awesome, very friendly and helpful. If you're in need of a cute coffee shop to get some work done, please check out Henry's!
Loved my experience here! Great food and friendly service!
The food menu had some good variety same with the coffee. It seemed like they were understaffed that day and didn't know how to handle it. My Cafe au lait was not very good, the coffee flavor was weak and I had a hard time finishing it.
Not bad, you can do better though around the area. Good atmosphere though.
I'm not a coffee drinker, so can't help out with their main offerings. However, the food choices are different than you might find at similar establishments, are prepared to order, and taste very good. The Asian slaw is a good alternative to chips. After several trips, I have always been satisfied with my order. The staff is pleasant and helpful.
I love this place on a chilly day. Try their breakfast burrito for their lime cilantro dipping sauce. Great for a cold Sunday reading day.
Great coffee, great food, great atmosphere. A little pricy but upon eating it was worth it.
My favorite place.
