The first time I went I didn't get a positive first impression. However, I went back for another try and had a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly. There are lots of comfy places to sip and read, work, or socialize. The shop is unique and has a great menu. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks either. I'm glad I went back. Highly recommend checking this place out!

So, 3 out of the last 5 times I've been to coat check or provider they were out of ginger, which is a big disappointment since I drive 25 minutes regularly throughout the month to stop in. It's enough that it causes me to think I should make the trips less so I don't drive up to have to be told they're out. HOWEVER, still an amazing coffee shop and they excel at all that they do. Although many may be disappointed by the limited menu, I know that they're goal is to be top notch at what they do instead of offering a little of everything and then making themselves average at each of them. They're top notch and I've loved coming to this place for years now. Excited for the new location to open up so I can check it out!

Long lines, but good coffee. Decor is nice and modern. They have books for kids, but I would say be prepared to keep your kids entertained while you wait in line and then for your drinks. Took us almost 30 minutes on a Saturday before we got our beverages.

You also deleted your original post and replaced it with the most unprofessional argumentative post. Are you trying to ruin your business? At the end of the day you served a subpar drink that was watered down tea that was 1/2 full in a to go cup at full price and this is how you try and resolve issues and correct grievances with customers?

Indy has a TON of local, great coffee spots. Coat Check and Provision, both owned by the same folks, are hands-down the best. And that's saying something! Try the butterscotch latte, hot or iced. Everything is locally sourced and you can't go wrong. Super great people, as well! Plan to come and stay awhile - the vibe is great, in a beautiful setting.

This coffee shop is in a cool location and has amazing coffee. Definitely try the Butterscotch latte because it's addicting! I've only ever had the chocolate croissant but that and a Butterscotch latte is a great treat to start any day. Be sure to go early because sometimes the baked goods sell out.

Amazing espressos and ginger beer here. The pastries look amazing, but I've refrained since I'm usually working out at the YMCA next door. Great location with plenty of seating and even blocks and magnatiles to entertain the kids. This is my favorite coffee shop in Indy.

Being from Seattle, I like to check out good coffee in any city I visit. Coat Check lives up to my snobbishly high standards. The coffee drinks are made with precision. They do take a while, but the space has countless arrangements of comfortable seating. I did appreciate the super-nice staff, too. Indy's lucky to have this place.

Nearing a religious experience for the caffeine walk of righteousness, this half remodeled old school downtown hipster church is the first coffee place I have ever been to that cooks up a menu above all expectations. Sure the atmosphere isn't much for studying. Furniture isn't ideal for reading away an hour, on the weekend certainly not quiet. It's plenty large and unlike the favorite chains offers tons of space. Maybe there's some nook I didn't get to for hiding away with bio-chem but fret on the finals another day. Forget those sad school reasons to brew with your books, you want to come here because the macaroons are perfect and a mouth sensation. There's oat and almond milk for the dairy averse. I have tried three drinks now and can't get over the presentation - dried hibiscus dropped into a pool like a happy Van Gogh signed off on the beverage. The flavors and finish on the drinks seems like years of research and practice just having culminated for us 21st century humans to get the first savor before anyone else. Everyone should make a trip here to experience proper food craft for themselves, taste and see that the roast is good. Amen.

Most disgusting cappuccino ever. Not sure why people think this is good coffee. It is not recognizable as coffee. Tastes like an ashtray emptied into warm milk. Not just mine, my wife's latte tastes like ash as well.

The atmosphere and comfort of Coat Check Coffee was nice and it provided a welcoming environment to complete all of my work for the day. The only issues i encountered were 1.) there was not a ton of desktop space finding only one table with an outlet nearby, and 2.) beyond about 4:00 there were 10-20 screaming children running around through the coffee shop. I was able to tune most of it out with my headphones so I will be back whenever I need to get some extra work done.

The frosted glass windows and heavy wooden interior make you feel you are waiting for the concert to begin as you lounge, play chess, or catch up with old friends. I absolutely love this place. It's conveniently located in downtown in a beautiful historical building (The Atanaeum). They have tea and coffee on the menu and a few items to munch on. Great to catch up with a fiend, plug in your computer to do work, or simply read a book. Definitely worth checking out.

The interior of Coat Check is quirky and mismatched, with a wide array of unique seating options. The layout is very open concept, which was a nice change of pace from the cramped little tables I am used to sitting at, struggling to find room for both my laptop and drink. I will note that there are not a lot of standard desks or outlets but lots of different couches and chairs

Good coffee. Their specialty seems to be in their lattes, where they artfully sprinkle powder and even add aromatics. People seemed to love these. I asked for a cappuccino, which they said they don’t do. But they could do a flat white which is close enough. Fun, open space. Busy during a Friday morning, with a mix of students and business people.

I've been here a few times and every visit is just underwhelming. I want to love it, but it's only okay. The coffee and food are..okay. But for the price it should be a lot better. Also, the seating is super weird. Unless you can grab a tiny table it's hard to come with one other person because the seats are so far away from each other. And they are SUPER low to the ground. Very hard to get up from if you have a bad back, bad knees, etc.

The coffee is always delicious and their latte flavors are so creative. They take a tremendous amount of care crafting their drinks, so don't expect to get your beverage quickly. The only reason I deducted a star was due to their speed in making the drinks (not that I'm expecting Starbucks speed, but it's slow by any standards). Other than that, sit down and enjoy a baklava croissant and a ginger latte!!

Coat Check Coffee is a small coffee stand on the second floor of the historic Rathskeller building. They sell a large menu of coffee drinks, but my favorite is the sweet butterscotch latte. If you like sweet drinks, this is your jam. There's plenty of seating nearby the coffee stand and throughout the Rathskeller building!

Edited to add: After the owner's reply, I've reconsidered my opinion of CoatCheck, and the things I disliked from my previous visits. Part of me wants to delete my review out of shame, but I'm going to leave it up because the owner's response was thoughtful, and should be read by those who have a similar opinion to the one I had. Maybe you'll reconsider, too. Coffee and hipster lattes (ginger and tumeric, anyone?) are tasty, but overpriced. You are paying for the atmosphere, plain and simple. However, their pastries are all made fresh in-house, unlike another nearby coffee chain that rhymes with tar-lucks, so points for that. If you like being pretentious (let's face it, you're on Mass Ave so the answer is yes) you'd like it here. If you need a cost-conscious caffeine boost? You know where the green siren is.

everything our party ordered was delicious! we ordered the hot chocolate, the matcha latte, and the golden milk latte w/ oat milk. we also ordered two each of the blood orange macaron and the tiramisu macaron. both were also delicious too! there is plenty of seating for enjoying your order in house and chatting away with friends. if it's your first time, it is located in a space right next to the YMCA.

Coat Check has a small, but very pleasing menu. I particularly favor the tea and non-espresso lattes (matcha and turmeric), which are delicious hot or iced. They have really good dairy alternatives too!

The environment was perfect. The drinks were made quickly and tasted perfect. We got a hot matcha latte and an iced dark chocolate latte. The sea salt in the dark chocolate latte made it absolutely perfect. There was plenty of seating and you can also pay to use the printer. Plenty of outlets and many of them have USB ports.

I was looking for a comfortable place to study with coffee. They’re coffee is great, but it’s not a great place to study. Most of the chairs are weirdly shaped, don’t have backs to lean against, and or are taller than their respective tables. Because of that, I wouldn’t even recommend hanging out there... just awkward

Had an everything croissant-nearly perfect amount of seasoning and their ginger latte. Wasn't the least bit disappointed. Beautiful, yummy drink. I do agree with the pricing, it does end up on the higher side but then again so does starbucks if you order their lattes/mochas & food etc and this coffee was WAY better.

Went there for the first time to takeout. Barrister made a mistake by making a latte in a regular cup, and I told him “I orded to-go”. He than transferred the coffe from regular cup to the platic cup, and the coffee was filled only half way, giving me a half filled latte and looking at me like there is nothing wrong. It’s Sunday, no work day, so I didn’t even bother to argue. Never going back, the taste isn’t great either.

Fun place with mainly coffee and some pastries. A little on the pricey side but they have coffee that's excellent from tinker street. I recommend for meetings or studying. Ample fun seating and close to other awesome places on Mass Ave

My girlfriend and I went here for our two month anniversary. She bought me a muffin and a coffee. Both were very good. She got the circle city kombucha on tap, the best kombucha in the world(I would know because I’ve been to China.)

A great place to either hang out with friends or get some work done. Usually crowded on weekends. The place is quite big with a variety of seating options. They have some unique coffee to try out, and some tasty macarons to go with the coffee. The bakery products are also nice, but a bit pricey.

Very chill vibe with really good drinks, local baked goods, and modern seating. There’s indie music going that speaks to the whole atmosphere of this place. Some stuff you know others you don’t for a good study mix. I got the Oreo macaron, which aesthetically looked good with some really nice sheen and feet on the cookies. The bit was soft and chewy with an awesome Oreo buttercream-thing in the middle. The croissant was also really good (maybe a little over baked in my opinion, but still buttery and fluffy and local which is great). I got the Nepal white tea and it was super clean and relaxing while I was getting some work done. This place may be a tad expensive, but you know everything you get will be fresh, tasty, and bespoke. Definitely a place for everyone to get her whether you are doing homework, meeting a friend, or just need to get away. 5/5
