The burgers we had were pretty good, but was unimpressed to be charged 5.75 for our Miller Lites when they had signs (and on the menu) which clearly said Sunday : $3 Miller Lite Drafts. I was unimpressed because I asked for 2 x Miller Lite Drafts and the waitress just went 'cool', then I was brought my drinks. We had 2 rounds of drinks, so 4x drinks total.When we asked the waitress why we had been charged $5.75 instead of $3...she said we asked for a tall..which we definitely had not. Ended up just paying for 4 drinks at $23 instead of my intended $12...Would have stayed and had more than 4 beers to enjoy the game but was a bit annoyed. Maybe just be clearer about this in the future.

I really wish I wasn’t having to leave this kind of review. A group of friends & I (just 4 of us) went downtown specifically for Champps last night for dinner. it was my first time but my friends always have had good experiences here. We got there around 10:45, and we were sat right away which was nice. Our waitress took about 8 minutes to get over to us and take our drink order which was no big deal. About 5-8 minutes later we received our waters. She took our order and then we didn’t see her for literally 20 minutes. when we saw her we asked for silverware. She said okay, and then didn’t come back. someone else brought out our food which is very typical but she still didn’t check up on us. I went up to the front desk to get us silverware because we were tired of waiting. we all needed refills and we still couldn’t find her. I am allergic to garlic and there was garlic in my sandwich, which is my fault for not asking, but i was having a reaction and needed medicine. I asked her if they happened to have benadryl and instead of just saying no she said “No, actually someone got hit by a bug in here the other day and we didn’t have anything for them either” so i said okay i just need our bills. I was having a reaction and needed medicine. The male manager was very sweet and asked me if i was okay, and also comped my meal which i didn’t need either. she took FOREVER to bring us our books while i was having trouble breathing and rolled her eyes at us as we paid. I don’t know if i’ll ever be back here.

Waste of Money - We had a party of 11 So it was expected that the service would be a bit slower. Our service was horrendous. We waited close to an hour for our tables food. After we got our food we had several people in our party including several small children who were served food without silverware and dippin sauces that took an additional 25 minutes to get. The GM tried to rectify to situation but seemed to have gotten slightly annoyed with our table. My Beyond Burger was absolutely terrible. I asked him if it was cooked properly and he replied that as long as the internal temperature was fine he could serve it. I told him I’ve had several beyond burgers and I’ve never had one like this. The beyond burger people would have been mortified that their product was served in that fashion. The burger wasn’t browned or even burger like. It was mushy, soggy and formless. The entire patty looked like it wasn’t far beyond being raw. I didn’t feel like arguing or waiting another hour for the replacement. I would personally not go back to this establishment and I think your money could be well spent elsewhere.

Champs is our yearly first stop when we come to GenCon. The staff is always friendly to us and this one of the few places I would order a steak that is not a steak house. Food is good and environment is casual. If you need somewhere to eat, this place is always a good choice.

Our group of 5 waited 40 mins at a table, had to get our own drinks from the bartender, and a server never came to the table after asking for them to come twice. Sad cause their food is usually good. Sounds like a common theme lately from other reviews. We left.

The service was horrible. The food was cold and part of the order was missing. All the food came out at once and there were only four tables in the place that were getting served. If I was Champs I would close this store. They typically have better service and good food, but this location was horrible. We spent almost 2 hours in an pretty much empty restaurant for cold hamburgers...... Do yourself a favor pick another place in downtown Indy.

Nice place within the shopping mall. The baby back ribs were okay, but the pulled pork sandwich was overdone. The meat was so soft, that it was close to being pulpy. Cocktails were good and service very friendly. All things considered a decent choice for a bite.

I was in town for a convention and went here for dinner on a Friday evening with 3 friends. The restaurant was at least 1/3 empty, but we were asked to wait for about 20 min before being seated, which I could understand if they were understaffed. After our order was taken, the appetiser was delivered to the table (4 anemic potato skins for $10). Afterwards our server was MIA for about 45 min until we contacted the hostess station. Shortly thereafter our server reappears with food for 2 members of our party: a nacho plate and an order of fish and chips. He offered no apology or explanation for the very long wait time. Both the nachos and the fish and chips were reported as cold and stale tasting. After another 20 min, I was able to flag him down in regards to the remainder of our order (2 burgers), which he then brought out shortly thereafter. The burgers were adequately warm and my fries were decent, but I felt the burger patty was small and overcooked. Again there was no effort made to make us feel as though the server or any of the rest of the staff were trying to make our meal a pleasant experience. This restaurant was well regarded by one of our group, and that is why we chose to dine there. We will not be returning.

Took us over 40 minutes to place order. Our poor waitress was so busy and there clearly was not enough staff. She was one of the few servers working (on a friday night really?! And the mini is in the am) food was burnt and nachos had no toppings. We spoke to the manager who was suppose to come check on us... never to be seen again. Clearly our experience was just fine with them. I will never go back. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. They never offered to fix any of it. Lesson learned for next time

Waited for over 30 minutes for four burgers and the restaurant was practically empty. Watched our food sit under the heating lamps for over 10 minutes. When the food eventually arrived, it was cold. They redid the fries but the second batch was tasteless, underdone and unseasoned. One order was completely wrong. The others were missing things (pickles on a hamburger, waffle fries were out so substituted with regular fries without asking, the tomato was about the size of a dime). The staff were very polite but it does not negate this terrible experience.

Went there for lunch today, we had several issues that were not resolved. My lunch partner got a crispy chicken sandwich with Buffalo sauce on the side, it wasn't My burger was not edible, the waitress did not check on us until the bill was ready, she did not mention anything about the un eatened burger. I put a credit card down and waited 15 minutes, then paid in cash. I would suggest Burger Study or Spoke and Steele for better burgers and better service.

My to go was set next to me without a word and then revisited 5 minute later like I didn't notice it was there.Wow. not sure what to say to this.

Manager (Tony) refused to help feed a Veteran. Shame on Champps! response: I too, am a combat infantry veteran 11B with 2 deployments and yes! A pastor now. In an emergency, Veterans don't need a discount, nor can they wait until Veterans day for a meal. This veteran was cold and hungry, and needed immediate assistance. Thanks for your response

Good dinner but poor service: I was here for dinner and drinks on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend 2019, the night of the Indy 500 race. I sat at the bar and hung around for a long time, watching sports. The TVs are good! I was surprised that the restaurant was not crowded on the day of the race. I ordered a pasta dinner with vodka sauce, veggies and chicken, and I enjoyed it very much. It had a nice spicy-hot after-taste, but not too hot. However, I did not like the service. The kitchen was VERY slow getting food out, and the bartender was too busy running around to give me decent service. Sometimes it seems like waiters and bartenders act super busy and are constantly in fast-motion, hoping that you won't ask them for anything. It seems like an act, a game. I don't like it. I cannot recommend this restaurant due to the poor service and long, long waits for food.

Decent food, but always slow service. Hadn't been in a long time due to this and decided to try again. Despite giving ourselves 3 hours to eat, golf and make it to the movie theater we had to cut the golfing short due to waiting an hour for food. That food was 3 kids meals and a cheeseburger, not exactly a time consuming meal to prep. They weren't particularly busy, but there were some people there and a large party that got blamed for the delays even though they all came in after we had already ordered. Server was apologetic and attentive but giving a low rating because you would think after several years they would have figured out that people come here before a movie or event and have a timeline to meet.

We went at lunchtime and were seated immediately. We waited several minutes after being seated before the host realized it took care of our drinks. It took another several minutes before our waiter arrived and took our order and we never saw him again. After we had been there an hour we had to go find the host, explain that we were late, and ask if our order could be made to go or canceled. He was very helpful and got it for us quickly. Our food was good and portions were good size, but we won't return because of poor service.

We listened to him be rude to others as well as turn about twenty people away between 10-11pm. Don’t say your open till 12 if your not going to allow people in. The way he spoke to us was disgusting. I have never tipped someone so low.

I would give zero if I could. There over 3 hours, could never get food. Had to settle on just getting our kids dessert. Multiple Waiters kept telling us sorry they couldn’t help us, they had been there since 9am (we were there with reservations from 8pm-11:30pm). Told us there was a “process to follow to get food”. Guess we never were explained that process. Only ever got 2 drinks and no food. Finally went to the bar to try to get a drink, and experienced the most horrendous customer service we have ever had. The bartenders started screaming at my husband throwing her hands around like she was going to start an actual bar fight before she stormed off. (Pigtails with red/orange dyed hair should be fired and never allowed back) He never raised his voice to them, only tried to ask for service. The manager on duty should have sent her home immediately! Never never never recommend this place to anyone. Out of everything even if you tried to get something. There was 1 kind waitress and the manager was beyond overwhelmed who tried to step in.

Only have an hour for lunch? Then you don't have enough time to eat here. 45 minute wait to get water and another 45 minute wait for food. The food is your average expected food so definitely not worth it. Just don't go here. Servers aren't even apologetic about how bad they and the service is.

I had the Drunken Pork Chops. Thick Bone in chops that were perfectly cooked and tender. Great flavor. Came with garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Fantastic meal. Could not quite finish it. Be sure to order a 32 oz beer. Big variety of beers to choose from. If your in Indianapolis and downtown, you need to try Champps.
