BEST burger in town. Get the MexiCali I think it's called. Sounds strange but the ketchup there is the best I've ever had. Unlike any kind I've had before. Burgers DO NOT come with a sides which is sorta ridiculous but it is tasty.

Great service, great burgers, the fries with cheese are really good. They're always very busy as I went on a Friday at 7 and only waited about 30mins for a group of four. I wouldnt call it cheap or expensive but typical for downtown..

Disappointed!! I am from out of state, visited INDY four years in a row about the same time. Not sure how and why I liked this place last year. I had to walk about 15 minutes to get there. I was looking forward to yummy bison burger and an IPA. I had to send my burger back to kitchen twice. Once for wrong bun and once for the blue cheese. Fries were still very good. Not a happy camper :(

This place was AMAZING!!! My husband and I had the jalapeño cheddar Mac for our app..... to die for! It was so rich with just enough spice! For entree we had the mexical burger with the bison beef! I mean I’ve never cleaned my plate like I did here! Can we please get one in TN!!!!! I wish I could them 100 stars! Great food and service! We will definitely be back!

Great burger place. Can be busy but this is a fun place to go! Last night I wanted an Impossible Burger but they are on back order. I got a Melt Your Face burger. It was okay. I probably would not get it again as it was messy with so much stuff on it I didn’t enjoy the burger part. . If you like my review please click the thumbs up below!

Great place to feel the city vibe. Very nice patio for setting outside. Quick service -they told me the wait for a table for 4 adults and 2 kids was going to be 45 min and it turned out to be only 20. Very quick to get our order and the waitress very efficient. Burgers were okay but nothing super impressive, both my son-in-law and I thought the meat was very bland and not very flavorful. Burgers were more about the add-ons than the meat itself. Prolly would go back but would not order a burger.

Food was good, so was the service. They even were accommodating when I didn't like the table they picked for me on the patio. Still, one of the best patios in Indy but tends to get full and if you want to have a conversation you should sit on the outside row.

Best burgers in town. I had a Cobb salad with blackened salmon that was delicious. We were seated quickly and well taken care of. It was nice to be able to sit outside. Had a quick bite with some friends and everything was great. We had a few dietary needs and there was no issue getting food the way we needed it. Also I had one of the best Old fashions ever there. Delicious food. Great service. Clean environment. Fries and house sauce were so good! Family friendly but bar seating is an option. No wait for us.

Great place! Super accomodating! They informed my husband that the fries are NO LONGER GLUTEN FREE. I repeat, the french fries are NO LONGER GLUTEN FREE. He has celiac so this sucks for us but we were happy the waitress informed us before he made a grave mistake. As usual Bru Burger was delicious. It is great they have Gluten Free bun options, salads, and vegan/vegetarian burger options.

Took the family for dinner and it was a very nice experience. In the heart of the 'hip' part of indy, expect to see more upscale clientele but their were people from all ages from babies in carriers to large groups. Food is reasonably priced ($8-$15) for the style of restaurant and the quality is high. Burgers are cooked to order and are very flavorful. Onion rings tasted hand battered and could have been a meal by themselves. I felt my wife and I could have ordered two burgers and split the onion rings. Kids menu is on a small sheet and comes with crayons. Kids food is $6 and had the standard macaroni and cheese (with the large spiral noodles), popcorn shrimp, chicken fingers, and of course hamburgers. Drink options are also plentiful with several local brews on tap and a reasonable harder selection. Wine is also an option but seemed a bit more limited. Parking is not free... Nice place and I would recommend.

5 of us had dinner here on a busy Saturday night at the Mass Ave location. The place was packed with no signs of things slowing down. Even with the crowds we were were able to be seated in only 15 minutes and our waiter Eric was fantastic! Eric was at the table immediately to take drink orders; super efficient and friendly the whole time! The food was amazing and arrived quickly and correctly, even though a couple of the orders had changes/substitutions.

Food was amazing. Burgers certainly dominant but other selection had something for everyone. Ambiance can be overwhelming. When they're crowded it's very loud and can be difficult to move through the restaurant. Service has always been adequate without being over bearing.

What an experience at this location. We were seated outside and had amazing service to add to a wonderful beer selection and very creative menu. I had the 3 cheese garlic burger which had a tad too strong of a flavor, but the quality and accuracy of temperature of the burger more than made up for it. Had the bread pudding for dessert and it was very delicious as well. Absolutely LOVED seeing how the wait staff worked with each other here as well. Will absolutely be returning soon!

I found this place on Google before I got to Indy. Seemed cool. It is. Waited for a tad to get a seat. Totally worth it. Bangin atmosphere, sweet beer selection, and the burgers are unreal. We were so happy with our visit here. Well done Bru. Will be back for sure if I ever come near this city again.

Bru isn't anything fancy, but it sure is delicious. They're always busy when I go, but the service is always great. Beer is cold, onion rings are tasty, burgers are fresh and delicious as well. I'd easily recommend this location and any of their locations.

Got food to go. Had the special fill burger. The hostess was super nice and really took care of us. I didn't want the fries that came with my burger but they put them in my son's container without any issues. The hostess gave us cups of water and then refilled mine after bringing the to go food. Super yummy burger.

AMAZING! You MUST get the nachos as an appetizer. Never have I had such a fantastic plate as nachos as this one! My burger seemed a little bland but those nachos made up for it a million times over! The servers are very friendly and the atmosphere is amazing. I plan on returning soon!

Loved their burgers. The outdoor seating is nice. Great vegetarian options and you have a choice of the meat or bean patty you want in each of the burgers. Prices are reasonable.

I really loved this place. The first time I came a long time ago I did not enjoy the burger and did not like the place. This second time around with some dietary restrictions, because of health issues I got the impossible burger. Gluten free buns, vegan cheese, vegan mayo and the meat, it was so good. The gluten bread was super tasty. Normally gluten free bread tends to be cardboard-y, dry and stale. This one was great. The burger was great. If they can pull of an impossible burger, then I can only imagine the rest of their burgers are great. I love how they had a fruit option. I feel so good, not bloated and feel great and ate such a great meal. The customer service was so great as well. Our waitress was super friendly, the service was super fast. We came as a family on a Saturday evening 7 ish, and the service was surprisingly fast. Overall really great burger place and I'm not normally a burger person. Come and enjoy, have a great time and great meal

I give a lot of places I love 5 stars... but if I could I would give bru burger 10. Just a super casual atmosphere, food never disappoints. I have never had one bad experience with staff they're the best people to be served by! We use the mass ave location and Lafayette location. The pretzels are nice and soft with a great beer cheese/spicy mustard combo. They have funky burgers to choose from with chicken choices and salads as well. House made ketchup is different but delicious. Mixed drinks; the best I've had. The dancing lady was stellar. But overall my favorite thing has to be the staff we love you guys!

Bru Burger Bar was a decent restaurant. Located in a beautiful spot in Indy, the physical layout of the restaurant top notch. The service was decent, we did not get frequent visits, and received bills prior to finishing dinner. The food was good but seemed over priced for the offerings. I would visit again.

Had mold on the burger buns. Waiter was very nice but seemed extremely busy. When we told the waiter about the mold he said he would let the manager know and have him come over. We ended up having to go to the host stand and get the manager in order to tell him about the mold. The manager gave us a $15 gift card that we used immediately. Won't be back.

HOMEMADE ketchup. Yes homemade... absolutely delicious. I crave it all the time now, sorry Heinz. Second, the burgers are huge and for a great price (especially being right on Mass Ave). Fries are a $2 add but highly worth it. Third, in the summer the patio is open which creates for such a lovely environment. You can people watch, enjoy a nice drink and attempt to eat your burger at a moderate pace

Beer and cocktails are a bit pricey, but its to be expected. I ordered a Bloody Mary, it was good and tasted very fresh. I would it again because I personally thought it had a strange flavor. I ordered the Melt Your Face Off burger. It was not very spicy in my opinion, but still pretty good. I ordered it medium and it was a bit over cooked. My boyfriend ordered his medium as well and it was a lot juicer/pinker than mine. It was a bummer that you have to pay extra for fries, really hikes the price up. Service was good and fast. Overall a nice experience.

I just went here with my wife for my birthday this June 3rd 2019. I love coming to this place the atmosphere is great and the food is even better. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and also my server brought us a dessert to share which was very delicious and very very thoughtful. I'm sorry I did not catch her name but she brought us a pecan pudding bread white chocolate served very warm with caramel drizzle. It was delicious. Thank you so much 4 making our birthday dinner out together that much more special by bringing us the desert. I highly recommend the Brew fries, they are very delicious and crispy served with three different dipping sauces which make them all that more delicious. We also had the Sriracha salad with Crispy Chicken on top. I'm not much of a salad person so this is a lot coming for me it is very very delicious and I devour it. Thank you again for the wonderful experience as always

We were staying outside of the 465 loop when we started looking for a burger place . Bru Burger Bar came up as the closest recommendation. I know some people might not drive the 15-20 minute drive but I am telling you DO IT!!! Very easy to find and a great building for a restaurant. Plenty of outdoor seating too. Now for the food. We started with the Triple Dip appetizer. It had Goat Cheese with a Peppadew Pepper Jam, warm Edamame Hummus with Pine Nuts and Guacamole. These three were served with warn Naan Bread. As I tried each one, I couldn't believe the flavor punch that each one delivered. The jelly on the goat cheese made it amazing. The guacamole still had nice size chunks of avocado along with a flavor that made your mouth sing. And finally the hummus. Hummus is not something I eat regularly and I don't ever remember eating it warm, but ....WOW!!! The creamiest almost buttery flavored hummus I have ever tasted. Even now, a couple hours after eating this incredible appetizer, I am still trying to think which one stood out as my favorite but I can't. We have a three way tie for the gold medal. You can't go wrong with this selection. For the meal we ordered the Garlic Three Cheese Burger with fries and the Stilton Blue Cheese Burger. Both burgers were great with exceptional flavor. At the recommendation from our server, I added mushrooms to the garlic burger. GREAT suggestion! The fries were definitely the kind of fries that all potatoes wish they would become. Crispy on the outside with a great seasoned crunch. The dipping sauce for the fries was just the right touch if you like to use ketchup with your fries. The fries have such a great flavor that you really dont need anything but that sauce had such a great flavor, I kept finding myself going back to it. You won't be disappointed with your meal if you journey into the city and find Bru Burger Bar. Our meal was made even better by one of the best servers we have encountered in a very long time. Jodi was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu and we did have several questions for her. When we couldn't decide and asked for recommendations, she gave a more detailed summary of the drink or burger we couldn't decide about. Her descriptions were what helped us make our final choices. Thank you Bru Burger Bar and Jodi for turning our night into a fantastic experience.

Bru Burger was delicious! I ordered The Beginning Burger and added bacon to it and had a soft drink. I was very happy with the quality of the burger. I did think my meal was a little pricey (a little over $13 before adding in my tip) but it was great. I wasn't too impressed with the server I had - he seemed like he didn't really want to take the time to explain more about the different kind of burgers available, even though I was with a friend and it was the first time we both were visiting. He also was rude and acted like he didn't want to hear why we weren't interested in joining their rewards program (we were only in Indianapolis for work for the summer). He interrupted me while I was trying to explain that to him, like he just didn't care, and walked away from our table. Otherwise, I had a good time here and would return - but I would try to have a different server next time.

Awesome food, excellent service, and most of all, brilliant crowd control. We had to wait an hour but there's so much to do nearby that they said they'd just call us. It was a simple solution to a huge crush of people waiting to eat. We got our table and were served well and quickly. None of the food felt rushed either. Usually, eating in a restaurant that's packed gets you food made sloppily or wrong or it dies under heat lamps. Ours was all perfect. And talk about delicious... The burgers are great and well made but somehow still reasonably priced. It makes sense that this place is always packed. They're doing it right.

Fantastic food and service. The menu may seem limited, but everything is a la carte, do you have a lot of freedom to make a meal you own. Good luck saving room for dessert! Between the appetizers and the awesome meal, you stand a pretty good chance of being full before you clean your plate!

Bru Burger have the best burgers I've had in a very long time. You will love their special made ketchup and the delicious spin on the fries. They made the classical burger and fries even better. The location is great right in the middle of Mass Ave. The bartenders were friendly and very quick. You get quality drinks at the bar, they don't hold back on the liquor. The atmosphere was great, the drinks were great and the food amazing. Bru Burger has quickly become one of my favorite places to eat.

Manager didn’t charge me, however she asked several questions pushing to the point I felt like she was accusing me (even though I have very short brown hair and this was a long strand of blonde hair). Then the waitress asked for my credit card even though the manager said there wouldn’t be a charge.

Bru Burger was a real treat. Even in terms of accessibility it was an easy, gracious experience. The menu had vegan options that looked delicious instead of obligatory. The menu also had an autoimmune warning regarding under cooked animal products. They use paper straws which takes a little getting used to... but they were cheerfully offered, we did not have to request them. Our server was great, the chef fine tuned my medium well namesake burger. I also tried the 3 cheese garlic burger, fries, & coleslaw. All were excellent. Other than downtown traffic, I had no complaints. Street parking is scant so plan ahead.

Bru Burger is a burger chain with a handful of locations across the USA. This particular spot is northeast from downtown Indy in a neighborhood with lots of other restaurants and bars. On a Friday evening, my wife, daughter, and I walked in and found the shortest wait time (30 minutes) compared to its nearby restaurants. We were seated within 20 minutes in the end. The overall experience was okay. There are plenty of tables and they had a high chair and coloring tools to keep our 2-year-old daughter entertained. A few things to note: 1) Service: They were so kind (especially the hosts), but they were pretty slow. We were in a rush and expressed that to our server. Despite that, they seemed to take longer than normal to take our order, bring it out, and give us the check. 2) Food: It's meh. With so much burger competition these days, what sets an excellent burger apart is flavor. Even the burgers with many ingredients lacked flavor. I ordered one with blue cheese, onions, bacon, etc and it was so bland. I wouldn't go out of your way to visit Bru Burger, but if you like a restaurant with a HUGE burger menu, stop by!

Came here based on a recommendation of a friend and wasn't disappointed. With a solid menu offering multiple choices, they have something for everyone. I ordered the Double Bacon Burger, and substituted in habenero cheese (must do). We also shared their Bru fries and the mayo pepper sauce is delicious! Solid portions, great toasted bun, and good service makes this place hit the spot. Will come back for sure.

Oh my good grief. Best burger place in Indy. Been 3 times and I fantasize about them . Crazy good food. Great atmosphere indoors and out. A little loud with the music and the customers trying to hear each other, but worth it.

The food is alright, they have a lot options, very tasty ones. But nothing feels very inspired, I'd rather have less options done better. It feels like because there are so many, they can't do anything really well. The service is good, staff are all very friendly. But it just doesn't add up to the prices they charge. Two adults and one small child with one desert, paying that much for lunch just doesn't sit right.

I thought this place was perfectly average. They did have 16 craft beers on tap, and many local beers. The burger I had, mexicali, was just OK. It didn't have much flavor. I like more flavor from a grass fed burger, bison, or elk burger like bubs has. The burger was cooked medium just like I ordered though, which I find most burger joints get wrong. There are just so many better places on Mass Ave to go that I won't be back.

HOW ABOUT 10 ☆'S a THREE cheese BRU burger with garlic aioli and we ordered their delicious french fries with them even tho those onion rings at tables looked so good too(next time) was VERY GOOD & we had GREAT seating outside today .. perfect service and a memorable FUN TIME! we highly recommend

As always, Bru Burger was delicious. This is one of the few places I know of in Indy that makes a burger truly medium rare. My wife is breastfeeding and can't have dairy. Our waitress not only made sure everything was dairy free, but informed us that the fries were fried in the same vat as breaded items dipped in buttermilk.

This was a great place to eat and hang out for a bit. The bartender was really helpful, and she was fun to talk with as well. The beer selection was pretty varied, and there were lots of burger choices. The option I picked was delicious. Each burger can be customized as you like, and I found out there is an option to get a smaller sized burger if you're interested. I'd definitely eat at this place again when in the mood for a solid burger.

We went for dinner on Saturday every. We sat outside as it was awesome! Service was good. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable with menu. Beer was outstanding and ice cold. A great combination on a warm, humid day in downtown Indianapolis! I ordered a burger with onion rings. The burger was delicious and cooked to order. The Onion Rings though were dripping with grease. My wife had their fries and they were perfect. Love their homemade ketchup. We their with extended family and will return.

Visited there last weekend and was blown away at the bean burger and salad combo that I shared with a friend! While visiting Indy we were told about some nice places to eat on Mass Avenue. We decided on Bru Burger because we had one person in our party that’s vegan and they had a nice vegan sandwich option. However the vegan sandwich was messy and bland according to the person in our party that tried it. They couldn’t even finish the sandwich. The waiter we had as well disappeared and turned our meal into a two hour venture that we wish we had back. The atmosphere was nice and the staff was friendly, just our waiter rarely came to check on us and refill our drinks...that’s the only reason for 4 stars.

Right in the heart of Mass Ave, this restaurant has all the vibes of the city. Patrons from all walks of life gather for good times and great food. My husband is a vegetarian and loved finding the Impossible burger on the menu. The staff was a well-oiled machine: everyone was friendly, always held eye contact, and floated around taking care of orders with complete ease. We will definitely be back.

Hubby and I ventured out after viewing the gorgeous Penrose location for townhomes plus! Bru Burger did not disappoint. We had the salmon burger + double bacon chili cheese fries (they were ok. I'm from Detroit where Chilli Cheese fries are a Staple so I'm hard to please) but the cheese sauce is a great touch!

Very tasty burgers for sure and good portion size. Average prices. Outdoor heated seating section as well. Nice looking bar with a large selection. We had a 20 min wait on a midday rainy Saturday, so this place may have a longer wait on a nice weekend day or evening. No complaints at all. Staff was friendly and place was clean. Food was cooked as ordered.

Bru Burger as always, sets the bar very high with an amazing downtown Indy indoor/outdoor location, fun atmosphere, great service and yes of course really good food. Moderately priced, but worth every penny. Oh and did I mention the bread pudding? It's a must have and by far the best I've ever had anywhere. This little spot is always a must stop for my wife and I. So, if you're a burger lover like me and especially if you like a little spice I highly recommend the "Melt Your Face Burger'

Four of us went to Bru Burger for dinner before a Pacers game on Saturday night. They were really busy but we only had about a 10 minute wait. The service was good but the food was excellent. All of our burgers were exactly as we ordered them and they were huge. Everything was hot and delicious. If you haven’t eaten at Bru Burger, you should try it sometime. You won’t be disappointed.

My fiancé and I stopped here a few weeks back. I have to give a HUGE shoutout to Emma, who helped me find something I could eat. I was recently diagnosed with an allergy that limits a lot of what I can eat. This particular week was a trying one as I am still adjusting. I actually broke down and Emma came over and gave me a hug! She completely turned my bad week around. She was so patient and brought out the allergen list and helped me find something I could have, she was just AMAZING!! I’m finding I can usually have about 10% of what’s on a menu so we don’t eat out much anymore but I know I can go to Bru Burger and I have an item I can order and feel safe about it and it was delicious! Everything was superb. I dined there with a big group and everyone just had to taste someone else's burger. There were so many good options to choose from. I had the melt your face burger which was spicy but not to the point where it was unbearable. To top it off I ordered a iced coffee which was the best ever. My belly was full and I had just the right amount of caffeine to prevent me from getting the "itis".

I was so excited to go here! The only reason I'm giving one star is because of the two lady Hostesses that assisted us more than our actual waiter! First we were sat in a far corner table and pretty much forgotten while people around us who arrived after were seated and received their food. I could understand if they were busy but they weren't and they didn't seem slow in serving anyone else. Took about 20 minutes to receive two lemonades and a water.....another 30 for apps which we weren't checked on or given a reason or apology for the wait. When our apps finally came out my friends wings were ice cold and the Spicy mac and cheese was hot but very runny and watery. Waited another 20 minutes before we could wave someone down to send the cold wings back.......they took them back so we are about an hour in with no food....they brought the wings out with the burger entrees. The wings were fresh but at this point we were pretty much over it and it sealed the deal when we all bit into our burgers and they were WAY OVER COOKED. We all ordered Medium! The roasted garlic on my friends burger was boiled garlic at best and just over all bland overcooked burger.....so after two hours I still left feeling cheated and hungry.....had to send my fries back also as they were way overcooked! I wanted to like this place so bad! Been begging my husband to take me forever. Sadly I won't be back. Thanks to the two ladies tho who picked up the slack of a waiter that could care less!

a must stop place if you are visiting indy! I love this place. We sat at the bar and our server was fantastic. We went around lunch time 5/6pm and it was busy so I recommended getting there before the lunch crowd if you want to sit at a table and not at the bar. For my vegans we had a bunch of burger options! I believe I ordered the black bean burger with a side of fries. It was so good I couldn't focus on having a conversation with the person I was with. The beer battered onions rings were great as well!! I had the dancing lady as my drink (2nd picture, orange. the clear drink behind it is the gin and tonic). Not as sweet as I expected but it was good. The restaurant is very clean and the staff members I encountered were extremely friendly.

The facility can get a little loud and crowded, but nothing unusual for the area. I almost always eat at the bar so I had zero wait and a decent seat at the bar even at the height of the business lunch rush. I had the Honey Chipotle Burger and Onion rings, both of which were excellent. Solid beer selection too. The bartender provided perfectly good service despite being busy. The bar, dining areas, and the entrances are all in very close proximity, which makes things a little crowded even if you're sitting at the corner. It's a bit pricey for a burger, but it's not outrageous.

The menu has so many things I wouldn't have thought of trying but I tried the pulled pork nachos and this grilled salad that was by far my favorite salad ever! The atmosphere is great for a date or fellowship I recommend everyone I know to go and enjoy!
