Here you have all the reviews of people like you who buy the products and services of Yolk Streeterville (Coffee Shop) in Illinois.
To this day the business has a score of 4.4 over 5 and that score was based on 2015 reviews.
You must have seen that the average score it has is very positive, and it's founded on a very large number of opinions, so we may be pretty sure that the score is very reliable. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to place opinions when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Coffee Shop corresponds to the category of Brunch restaurant.
Wonderful food and service, with an expansive selection of breakfast items for all ages. Slightly annoying that there is no reservations process other than the wait list, which makes for a lot of hanging around. The app allowing you to keep track of where you are in line is great, but with a slightly larger than average party, it can take a really long time for the number to actually reflect when you will be seated.
Chicken and waffles were perfect. Service was speedy. Suggest getting your name on the Yelp waiting list before showing up just to save some time.
The avocado toast here is so good!! I would've never thought to put dill cream cheese on my toast and now I always will especially with avocados. Great location and very nice service!
Few restaurants master breakfast AND lunch like Batter and Berries can! From the French toast flight for breakfast to the BBQ chicken sandwich for lunch, this restaurant knows how to make every bite scrumptious! The down fall is the wait - but it is well worth it! An additional nice touch is the owner/head chef comes out to great everyone at the tables quite often. The spot is a must-eat!
A very good breakfast - I would recommend this place to anyone.
Insanely packed, crazy noisy and good is just mediocre. I would highly recommend a regular restaurant that has breakfast/brunch options because here you pay extra to even have strawberries on your pancake, or oat milk in your latte. Not a place I will come back to.
Hungry? Check out this place for breakfast or brunch. There is seating outside when the weather is warm enough. You may want to use yelp or the Yolk website to reserve a slot in line, the place gets high traffic most of the time, especially on weekends. Staff are professional and courteous. For some reason, I felt the door was too difficult to open without putting in unnecessary extra effort. I loved the food. My wife loved the coffee too.
Rude wait staff who gave us a hard time for bringing our own keep cups for take out coffee. The coffee was also terrible.
This place, I was recommend by other ppl. juice was delicious but I was so tired at that time (jetlagged) so I could not eat much. Huge for breakfast for me. Staff were very friendly
This place handles the breakfast crowd quite well. Its busy but they keep the service and food quality high
Not over priced and quality food.. Great breakfast spot
A little pricey but very good. Honestly, we had leftovers after ordering 4 dishes for 4 ppl. Totally worth it.
Good food, nice staff but too noisy environment for me.
Chicken and waffles were perfect. Service was speedy. Suggest getting your name on the Yelp waiting list before showing up just to save some time.
Food is fine. But the service not so much. They were quite prompt to seat us. Server came with coffees but the juices we ordered never came. The spoons and cups on the table were dirty - cups had coffee marks and spoons weren't washed properly. Replacement never came. Food was good - came quickly. The side of English muffin didnt come until half way. French toast was a bit soggy.
Great service, friendly & helpful waiter. Restaurant looked insanely packed on Saturday morning however wait time was only about 30 mins with our order taken quickly & food arriving extraordinary fast.
Be warned this place gets busy but it's worth the wait. Staff are pleasent and attentive and the food is really good. If they weren't 3000 miles from home I'd make it my regular go to place for breakfast
So glad we found this place! Just happened to check it out our first day in Chicago because it was close to the hotel, and ended up going back two more times over the weekend. Everything was amazing!!
Very good breakfast and superior service. The portion is very big and much more than enough for breakfast. Service is good and quick even though they are busy. Food is delicious and well prepared. Pancake is really good. I had Kale scrambler which wad just perfect. It really worth the publicity and the crowd. Well recommended for breakfast
Savory egg and cheese stuffing in sweet pancakes is not a good combination.
Hard to find, but worth it. Had the Eggs Benedict caprese- yum! Service was good considering how busy it was.
Perfect. Awesome breakfast. Just that it's crowded most of the time.. get into the yelp waiting list before reaching there..
Plentiful variety of tasty breakfast choices.
Delicious food, generous portions, friendly and accommodating staff... We showed up at 6 am with my 20-month-old and loved it. Five-egg omelets were delicious. They also have a house hot sauce! The menu options have fun twists on typical breakfast foods. I would love to go back.
An interesting taste. The wait was easily more than 15 minutes and started to weigh in at about an hour and fifteen minutes. The Nutella Crepes are a bit thicker but the packed Nutella with the fruit and nuts ontop are delicious. A nice portion size where you look forward in having to bring home seconds. The over-easy egg on the plate was a bit soggy, but overall a good texture and tasted alright. The Waffle Egg Benedict however, was not approved by my mother. The sauce was a bit too spicy for her and the potatoes had a bit of a crisp to them. The Waffle passed with flying colors, for that was consumed in minutes. Despite this, the coffee and tea were fantastic and with the cute little jars with the water was a nice touch. The only thing that caught us off guard was the drastic change in music genres. One moment it was Boots with the Fur and the next song started to play Owl City. Overall: great food, make sure you walk around the city for the wait, definitely buy the Nutella Crepes and understand your tastes.
A great place to get breakfast and and real tea served, with the leaves
Very good food. We got here about 8:30 on a Saturday morning with group of 5 and were able to get a table. By the time we left line was out the door. They have a strawberry orange juice that was very good. All food we ordered including the pancakes of the month cinnamon apple were very very good. Our waitress was busy but attentive and even gave us drinks to go when we mentioned we had a long walk ahead of us.
Great food pricey yhough
Good Service & Food
Amazing brunch. The sausages are huge and cooked perfectly. The eggs were amazing and so was the service. Nice place for breakfast in Chicago. Highly recommended!
It was very ordinary. Savory crepe was good
Great Place. Can handle large groups. Very accommodating.
So far - bad experience with rude wait staff, long wait , would not be seated with my twin boys even with table empty. Updated the starts to be more fair after seated - food as ok.
Chicken waffles were delicious! Really glad I got the gravy on the side as it would have really changed the flavour profile I was looking for.
The Yolk has a welcoming atmosphere with an airy feel and seemed like a great place to eat. Upon arrival we were given room temp water on the table and put in our drink orders. The drinks themselves took about 15 minutes to arrive and they forgot a drink (we ordered 3 drinks.) We proceeded to wait until we ordered very common plates which took over AN HOUR to get. Once it arrived we were expecting some decent and warm food. My plate was all room temp and the potatoes were undercooked, but knowing how long it would’ve taken to get it fixed, I dealt with it. Not only were the eggs just ok, but there was also hair in my pancakes!! We don’t plan on ever going back to that restaurant if we ever visit Chicago again.
Ordered the 3 egg Kale scrambler!!! Great food and atmosphere!
Great menu and great service. I like the Singles selections. Provides option to try their signature dishes with smaller portions. I had the berry french toast... delish!
It was busy but we stayed when we noticed that locals were waiting to eat there by themselves. So it had be good and it was. They have unique breakfasts plates as well as the classic choices. Everything we had was delicious and the eggs seemed to have double the amount of yolk! I wish I could remember the waitress who served us at the bar because she did and excellent job. As did the hostesses who had to deal with the extra people waiting in line. P
Heard a lot about couldn't wait to visit. Pros: The food was delicious. Great portion size for the price. Beautiful setting. Cons Horrible service Waitress only came back once to give us our food we sat there 25 minutes waiting for a coffee refill. Didn't see her again until we stood up to leave. A roach was crawling on the floor next to us asked for the manager he never came waited 20 minutes. Small and crowded no room to move.
Yummy food. Great waitress.
Great breakfast place with a huge selection of dishes, good portions and a very friendly staff. Highly recommended!
Outstanding location for tasty Brunch. Do yourself a favor and try this place. Looking forward to coming back with my coworkers. Bring your hunger - portions are generous.
Great food great staff wonderful place
Sooooo gooood!!!
brunch and service here is excellent. Excellent spot to spend time alone or talk business. Menu is like a cafe in Boston I liked.
45 minute wait, all the while we watched 5-6 tables sit empty. Martin, our server, was great. Quick and efficient. Waffles were very good. Patty melt had raw, red onions instead of the descripbed grilled onions. Yacht club sandwich had shredded cheese instead of sliced cheese.
One of the best breakfast restaurants I’ve tried in Chicago They have a great egg benedict And they have delicious red velvet.
Good friendly place to enjoy breakfast. Good food. Good value. Good variety.
portions were gigantic and the food was delicious. unfortunately the service was sub-par. I was sat at the bar ready to order and servers kept walking past totally ignoring me! I must have waited about 15 mins before someone took my order. This was strange as the store wasn’t even that busy at the time. luckily the food came out quick and tasted good!
Great customer service, good food, big breakfast, overall good experience. Yolk Marina City is better.
A nice place to get breakfast or brunch.
Great service, great food reasonably priced. Nice out door seating section
Good typical brunch food. We thought it was fun that you could get a single piece of one of their sweet items to share amongst the table - we tried the banana bread French toast and it was incredible. We called ahead on a Sunday morning and were seated within 10 minutes. Service was average - had to ask multiple times for coffee refills and to get sweetener packets.
Great place for breakfast and brunch close to Magnificent Mile right by Chicago river. The place has various breakfast/brunch meals choices. 5 eggs scrambles was delicious as well as pancakes. They also serve burgers and breakfast mac’n’cheese. The service was prompt, the staff - friendly.
Get ready for some awesome food and friendly staff. Always the first place I go when I come to town. Ask for a free to go cup of coffee. Thanks Yolk!
Visited Chicago for the first time this past week, and my friend told me to check out Yolk. It was fantastic! It's BYOB, so I brought a bottle of champagne and got some orange juice to make mimosas (highly recommend). I ordered one of their omelets, and it was great. Very fresh ingredients, very friendly staff, and a great atmosphere!
Clean and safe place, to celebrate a college drinking buddy birthday. Good food and coffee.
Consistently good. Everything we tried was very good. This time I had an omelet. Perfectly cooked just the way I like it but too big to finish. Multi-grain bread was excellent. Generous portions of high quality food. Not inexpensive, but what you would expect for downtown Chicago.
Worth the long wait, great food and excellent service
Chicken and Waffles were very good! Fast service and great food even when it was busy! Would definitely come back to this spot next time I am in town.
Yum! Staying at the Warwick and needed a cool little breakfast spot, and we found the Yolk just a few blocks away!! Friendly service Clean bathrooms Delicious food Unique n/a drink list Attentive support staff. Well done!
Great food! Great service! Long queue, waited for an hour.
Even though they were busy I didn't wait long for my food which by the way was great! Very generous portions and was made exactly how I asked for it.
Open and airy feel. Lots of glass so the sun shines in on your breakfast. Tons and tons of choices to choose from. Two sides of a menu so they have something for any mood you're in. Some of the plates can get loaded down on sugar so plan accordingly. Coffees we're good and customer service was fantastic. Would definitely go back.
Big fan of the corn beef hash. Add avocado & bacon and it was great. I like this spot slightly better than Wildberry. Also they have their own spicy sauces on the table which was a nice touch.
Yolk always has a welcoming vibe. Quickest service at the bar... ordered the Croque Madam, plenty enough to share. Bottomless cup of coffee seals the deal.
Awesome food, even better service. Our waiter, Ian, even offered to send me with my coffee refill to go! Within walking distance of many hotels and a few blocks from Navy Pier. I would definitely come here again!
Food was good, very filling and a good portion size. Some things are slightly pricey and one of our cups had some gunk on it. Would recommend to anyone visiting the city.
No doubt about the food quality. But there's always a long wait during the weekend. Personally I don't feel worth the wait. I would prefer to visit them during non peak hours for the good food. Occasional brunch visits with friends visiting from an other city.
Great experience! The hostess was was welcoming with the best smile, and Charles, who waited on us, had a great, easy going energy and provided excellent service. The food was yummy. We want one of these restaurants back home in Asheville.
Superb cinnamon rolls and very nice waffles. The staff is wonderfully courteous and the environment is very pleasant.
Mm mm mm! Loved the skillet I tried, forget the name of it. My bf has the red velvet French toast which was heaven! Cheesy grits are to die for.
I can't say enough good things about this place! I've been going here every Sunday for brunch for the past few months and I've yet to have a bad meal! Not only is the food amazing, the coffee is excellent too. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but I would buy the stuff by the gallon if I could. Just make sure to get there early or put in a reservation, this place fills up quick!
Yolk is yolk. They’re very consistent from location to location. The BYOB option is definitely under utilized compared to other brunch spots. Savory or sweet, most of their options are pretty good for the price point.
Great poached eggs, cheese fries, coffee, and pancakes. Friendly, happy vibe, sunny, clean feel. I would definitely come again.
Really affordable brunch and very good service. They where quick at serving my order and the place has a nice atmosphere for breakfast. I would recommend it and go back myself.
Friendly and easy breakfast place. Solid staff, quick food, and tasty. My only complaint is portion size. It's simply way too much. I don't want to take breakfast food home as it doesn't reheat well. I am not giving this a lower rating because of portion size. It's a solid 4. I just think a smaller portion size would be more appealing. Ordering anything with a side of pancakes is two meals, maybe enough for three people.
This place is super busy. You may have a wait of 45 minutes during the weekend bring rush. The menu is varied and the service is fast. The food quality is consistently good. It is a good spot to meet with friends.
While visiting from out of town we tried but didn't go here on the weekend and it was packed, so we came back a couple of days later and had a great full breakfast while sitting out side in their porch. Very tasty, and nice.
Food was great and service was friendly and quick! The corned beef hash was one of the best I've had before. I would definitely go here gain!
Tried the oatmeal with added pecans. Nothing special. Use the microwave at home and make it yourself. Or pay way too much money for other mediocre-looking food. 3 stars awarded only for ridiculously friendly service.
Great service but food was far too salty
Delicious breakfast. Best I had while in Chicago.
We had a perfect breakfast. Good service.
My friend and I tried the countryside skillet and banana nut bread and thought both were delicious. This place gets busy and staff is running back and forth at all times but nonetheless, our waiter was nice, attentive and I left satisfied. I will definitely be back.
Kate's Kitchen is my favorite breakfast spot in the city. The food is excellent and always good specials. But, what's better than the food is the service. Irene is one of the best servers I've ever had wait on me! I highly recommend!
I have maybe been here about 100+ times. The food is delicious and waitstaff are friendly. Their benedicts, cinnamon roll french toast, and skillets are my favorites.
Average food. Could have been served warmer. Good service.
I've been here twice, had a good experience both times. Great food and a nice modern space. They have this sweet and savory crepe that I love. I guess it's popular because I tried to order it for take out online once and they called me saying they were out. I appreciated the diligence. I consider 3 stars a proper avg score and reserve 5 stars for top notch places that I know well. I gave a 4 bc it's above average and I haven't been there too many times but I would definitely recommend it.
Absolutely delicious. Big portions. Great service.
Yummy breakfast and bottomless coffee in a bright atmosphere. Will visit again next time I'm in Chicago.
Delicious! I had the bacon waffles with cheddar eggs and sausage links. I'm so full and loved the food. Also, friendly, professional staff.
Food was very good and hit the spot. Very happy with the quality of the service.
Very good food. Juice was good.
Ordered a stack of blueberry pancakes and they were cooked a little to long, the waitress and the manager were so concerned with me happiness they made a new batch immediately. So nice. Customer service here is amazing!
Worth the wait! Awesome service and atmosphere! We ordered 2 breakfast entrees each thinking we would just try them all out and we ended up finishing them all! Talk to the staff about there favorites and I'd recommend trying what they suggest.
Food was good, but had an issue with dirty plates.
Food was amazing. I had the countryside skillet. Every was made to perfection, and waiting staff is very friendly. Top breakfast/ brunch spots in the US.
Breakfast places are kind of my thing, and this place had great food and a perfect atmosphere to charge up your morning energy. The coffee was really good and the breakfast skillet I had kept me going through lunch!
Cool spot. Good food and service.
Great service and atmosphere, a big variety of tasty breakfast food and fantastic house coffee. The red velvet cake French toast is to die for... And you can get it as a side in place of regular toast if you don't feel like eating cake for your entire breakfast.
Everything was very yummy and we had good service. The music was obnoxiously loud but besides that we had a very nice breakfast.
My favorite breakfast in Chicago. I highly recommend to go before 9 on the weekends as it gets really busy. Weekdays is very calm by comparison. Love the croque madame. Outside in the patio is nice in the summer.
The place is busy and the food is yummy ... I tried the Benedict crepe and it was nice ... Plus the sides r customizable and that is a complete yes yes...
Amazing service and awesome food. What more can I say? We'll visit everytime we're in town.
Yolk is always a go to for breakfast whenever I visit Chicago. The corned beef hash is great. Always, ALWAYS, order the red velvet french toast. It’s AMAZING.
It was clean popular and fast paced. We sat outside and the server was efficient. The portions were huge.
Our go to brunch place. Huge portions, always need to take left overs. Really don't like their coffee unfortunately. Anything with chorizo is fantastic though. Usually sub a half waffle for the bread and I'm set! The food is very consistent between trips as well.
Location is a little bit away from the attractions. I have founded online. It is a cozy place I can say. I got a regular breakfast which is very good but I can not tell the same thing to the pancake. I was expecting better or my expectations were high before I go. I could give an other try when I will visit Chicago again.
Loved this place. We will be back.
We walked here from our hotel. The food was delicious and our waiter was friendly. We were able to get in and out relatively quickly. I would eat here again if back in the area!
The restaurant was great! We were quickly helped and the food was tasty. I recommend their cinnamon roll!
I enjoyed my dish. They give you a healthy portion. Two dishes weren't cooked well but the manager got things straight. Our host, Katie, was really sweet and attentive. She's a keeper.
One of my favorites for breakfast. Good portions, you won't leave hungry.
Our uber driver recommended this place for breakfast, and it did not disappoint! Great coffee, fresh juices, so much on the menu to choose from! Highly recommend the west coast crepes!
cinnamon rolls are crunchy on the outside and when you get deeper in it's so good and I went to put salt on my eggs and put a little salt on the sausage and you'll have a whole breakfast best place to get good food
The service was quick, food hit the spot and the coffee was better than expected and bottomless. I had about 3 cups while I enjoyed the egg scramble with chorizo and avocado. Plenty of seating inside and out. Perfect stop for a quick yet flavorful breakfast. Many choices on the menu.
Great place! We’re here on vacation and had forgotten to add breakfast on our list. Walked by Yolk, we thought it was going to be a long wait with everyone sitting outside. Wait time was only 20 minutes, big plus with hungry 3 boys. Great food, great staff and great all around service!
The croque madame was really filling and delicious! Our waitress was really kind, and the service was relatively quick considering the number of people present.
Food quality ,portions and choices are very good Prices are just above average Service is excellent Staff are very good with one exception who tried to push us away ,though one hour was remaining before closing !!? ; another staff stepped in and took care of us Still I may give it another try next visit
Great place to go eating while in Chicago
Hmm. Okay. I won't speak for everyone in my party, but my own plate was, in a word, lackluster. West Coast crepes, I believe? It just lacked flavor. The sweet crepe didn't mesh well with the mushroom and avocado filling, in my opinion. Also, $3.50 for a *tiny* glass of fresh juice - I'm talking like 6 ounces MAYBE - is outrageous to me. The chilaquiles were great! The service was very good. The atmosphere was what most breakfast joints are: loud, busy, bright and clean. There are certainly good things going on with the menu, I just didn't get so lucky.
Great coffee, friendly staff, good size portions and most importantly, great food.
Staff lovely however, glasses were greasy, pancakes had to be sent back as they were raw in the middle and the toilets had flies everywhere. Chicken, bacon and avocado sandwich was fine but nothing special.
The brunch was delicious I ordered eggs benedict it was perfect the coffee was pretty good too we all enjoy brunch and the customer service was wonderful and the price is very good
Smashed avacado-something was amazing and service was great!
brunch and the feeling at this place is excellent. Service is prompt even when they are busy. The place has a cool atmosphere.
Lovely breakfast, large portions, tasty coffee and slick service. Highly recommended.
nice staff great atmosphere
Always consistent great service and great food.
Was in town for a conference, and a group of us decided to stop here, as it looked interesting. They sat our group in front of their windows, with the hot sun blazing in. Was in out seats for about 3 minutes before we all started to complain that it was hot and the sun was in half our tables eyes. After getting moved, they served us what I would describe as warm tap water from a fancy container. No ice...just water from the faucet. Food was good though and service was friendly. That was their only saving grace.
Absolutely love this spot for a great egg-based breakfast in Chicago!
Phenomenal place for breakfast! Friendly staff, great choices you can change a few things here and there. The pancakes are one of the best I've had in the city hands down. Highly recommend this place.
The corn beef hash and omelets were so good. The avacado toast was not as great...
Yolk always has great food and great service. Also keep in mind that it is BYOB which makes it even better for brunch.
Have been walking by many time finally stopped and tried it , now in love with their menu and service was great
The restuarant surely lives up to its reputation.. extensive menu ..the staff is very warm and helpful and finally .. amazingly delicious fresh food
Food was delish! If you join wait list before going than no wait really. Slow to bring out coffee, but otherwise great location with reasonable prices.
The food was great and the service was good overall. The place was jam packed, but they got us seated relatively quickly. The food was quite pricey for breakfast food however.
Good food for breakfast and lunch, good service. Moderate price point, approx $13-15 per entree.
Eggs were delicious but just a little under cooked. The bacon and sausage were delicious. Overall a very good breakfast
Chicken and waffles definitely did not hit the spot, left much to be desired. Stick w other items on the menu
Egg-cellent food and even better service
Pre reserve ahead! Lines get long but food is good and the price is perfect!
The food is very delicious. The service is very good. I really like their salad, fresh and juicy. And their price is very friendly too. Four of us only spent less than 60$ after tax.
Very good food. The service was fantastic will definitely return when visiting again.
Their hot sauce is incredible! Paired really well with the eggs Benedict
Busy place, unhelpful staff, but good food and generous plates. The Nutella crêpe was delicious. Chocolate milk was good too but we got a very small glass of it and we haven't been told it was possible to get a carer (especially as we took it both). We were sat near the kitchen and as this is an open kitchen we were able to watch the staff playing with food and throwing food at each others, and preparing food without gloves after touching unclean objects (smartphones...).
I have nothing but good things to say about Yolk! This was our first time eating here and the food was delicious! Very good portions and the prices are more than reasonable! Friendly, neighborhood feel with a diverse staff. It's got your Chicago hipster vibe if that's what you're looking for. You wont be disappointed!
Quick for parties of 4 or less server was very nice
Good breakfast food. I had the scrambler with chorizo. Not really spicy like I expected so I added some of their house hot sauce.
BYOB! WE brought our own champagne and beer. it was awesome. FANTASTIC Strawberry orange juice. loved the chicken and waffle and eggs Benedict.
I had such a great scramble here. they're hot tea is really good. The mugs are made of glass. they also have something to avoid wind that you walk into. The servers are very friendly as well. it was very fun and had a very nice setting
The setting is beautiful and the food was delicious. My son loves waffles so he ordered the Chicken N Waffles and he loved it. The portions are big so it can shared. The location is great. The only negative is the customer service. The waitress was friendly however she was not around much. We had to call her over a few times. But I would go there again.
Very pleasant breakfast spot, being able to join the waitlist made our dining and waiting experience easy and stress free. The menu has a ton of options, and the ambiance inside is modern and warm. Our waitress Jenna was very friendly and helpful; she really made us feel welcome in Chicago!
Good food. Super slow service
Food was horrible. I got breakfast for me an my wife.. They burnt my potatoes straight black..My red velvet french toast had crispy egg on top which not suppose be there an my turkey sausages was half cooked an cold which made my stomach upset.. Will never go back again. Just bad
Might have been my favorite food in Chicago. The Red Velvet French Toast was life changing. I recommend going with friends and splitting s bunch of brunch dishes. Our waitress was super cool, and we got free coffee to go. I wish Yolk existed near me, but when I'm back in Chicago I'll definitely be back.
Breakfast was cooked fast. No issues whatsoever. The waitress was really cool. Recommended!!!
