Had Brunch there for the 1st time and it was Delicious The restaurant is bigger than you expect. Food was Tasty and Staff was friendly. Will definitely be back since I work Nearby.

Shannon Stone-Winding

Delicious as always. Crowded as ever, but oh so good. I ordered the build a skillet and my two vegetarian companions loved their breakfast too. My husband likes very simple no fuss meals so basic scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes. He loved it too!

Kelsey Butler

Great brunch spot with good food and great prices. Went there for brunch on a Saturday morning and it’s definitely busy. Top tip - put your name on the wait list before you go (it will give live updated wait times) and expect to also wait when you get there. Food took quite awhile to come out but The server did let us know, so no problem and there were packed. If you’re looking for a quiet and quaint brunch spot, this is not it but it’s a great place for good food at decent prices and central for tourists.

Ronda S

The food taste average and the pancakes taste weird & nasty. They're definitely NOT homemade. I gave 3 stars because each time I had to send my food back as it was luke warm and/or had been sitting awhile, like it wasn't fresh. They remade items each time, but still this has been a constant issue on every visit. Also, the wait was an hour or more and the service is slow. Waitress was nice, but the overall service just lags.

Hnou Vang

Loved their huge selection of breakfast items. There's something for everyone. Their strawberry orange juice was very sweet and delicious.

Shweta Bhiwapurkar

Just WOW. Visiting Chicago n stumbled upon this gem. From outside it looks like a small shop but interior is lot more different. Simple ambience. We visited on a Sunday morning and were shocked to see soo much crowd already in wait and were disappointed that it might take a while to get a table but we got lucky. We were seated in 5-7 mins n order was quick. Food was absolutely delicious n very fresh. I am not a coffee person but loved the coffee as well at Yolk. Would definitely love to visit again.

Nick Klinstiver

It's pricey, but great food with a wide variety of options. Very quick service. Their house made hot sauce is great, but the coffee is lackluster. Not bad enough to knock off a star - everything else is phenomenal and more than makes up for it. You must try this place!

Jorgi Porgi

Great brunch place! Make sure you put your name down early, there's always a wait

Carissa Boehmer

Always really busy, but love the breakfast food. I usually get one of the specialty French toasts.

Rick Watson

Excellent for breakfast. The green eggs and ham was fantastic. The service was poor. Our waitress didn't even check to refill the coffee. Finally, my wife got up with the cups and went to the counter for refills. Upon bringing them back to the table, our waitress walked over to ask if we wanted coffee. Really? The cups were full. And...her tip was empty. The food was so good I would go back, but the service would make me hesitate.

Matt Prugh

Wonderful menu choices and a staff that is second to none. The servings are huge and reasonably priced. All the menu items looked fantastic as they were being delivered to tables around us. Highly recommend breakfast here.

Trish Root

Had a wonderful brunch - ordered a scramble with spinach, red pepper, turkey sausage, and mozzarella. Coffee was excellent, and I saved the strawberry orange juice for the end - it was much like dessert. Cost was as expected for the area, and portion sizes were more than adequate. My server, Destiny, was fabulous - kind, patient, fast, professional.

Nicole McAlister

Radu was such an excellent server! He was very kind and made me feel at home. The food was also excellent - generous portions for a fair price. I would definitely suggest coming here!

Joel Walther

Great breakfast options and some unique takes on classics.

Katie Dahlberg

Absolutely LOVED this place! The food was incredible (highly recommend their french toast and seasoned potatoes - so good!) the staff was so friendly and I just have to throw in that I love the music they were playing. I will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in Chicago!

Richard Tannous

Really enjoyed brunch here. They had a great selection and everyone in our group was really satisfied with their meal. Great taste and portion size. Also really enjoyed the byob nature here. We brought our own champaign and made mimosas with their strawberry orange juice and it was bomb.

PR Bush

The servings are generous and I have enjoyed every menu item that I sampled. The Santa Fe frittata does not disappoint.

Mitzi Lawrence

Always a wait on the weekends. Otherwise, zero complaints. Yummy food, hence the wait.

horace mckenzie

Amazing breakfast sadly early bird catches the worm always packed on weekends

Alex Schoedel

We went there for breakfast. A good, but very crowded place, which can be very noisy too. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I've eaten eggs Benedict. They were good, but not outstanding. I am not sure if the hollandaise was homemade, but I believe it was not. The orange juice was good but not freshly squeezed. The potatoes were deep fried and not pan roasted. I would recommend this joint, but only if you can stand the noise and not looking for a quiet atmosphere.

Timothy Smyth

Good food. Fast, friendly service. The waiter remembered I was drinking decaf and didn't give me leaded.

Mauren Burton

I stop by when I can with all my friends to grab a good morning breakfast. Honestly you cant go wrong with anything on the menu.

Ms Andrea

OM goodness the Red Velvet French toast is AWESOME! Great breakfast spot, weekends are busy but worth the wait. Nice pleasant staff.

Jrod K

Amazing, trendy, and delicious spot to get Breakfast, brunch or lunch! They have many takes on regular breakfast foods that are delectable. Highly recommend. The wait time for seats can be from 10 minutes to 40. It's best to reserve ahead of time on Yelp. And or check in early. Medium prices.

Hannah Lian

The food isn't bad, but it's definitely overhyped. I ordered the BLTSMA ($13). The bacon wasn't smoked, it was turned into rock - it hurt my teeth to bite it. The sandwich was a good size and taste decent, but I wouldn't say it's worth $13. This place is roomy but also seems to be filled quite often. I wouldn't call it a tourist spot, but a lot of tourists come here too. The air conditioning is so strong it made my hair fly and head hurt. At first I thought it was just the spot I was sitting at, then I moved to the opposite side of the table and it was still the same. I also watched as some things flew off the table next to me. They also have the waitlist on yelp which can save you some time.

Nancy Pyette

Food was good but way to noisy to be able to relax and enjoy the meal.

Jenil Mahetalia

This is a great breakfast/lunch place located in downtown Chicago. The Omelette here is too good to not have and they serve a lot of sides along with the main dishes as well. Pancakes were just okay but overall a good place and highly recommended.

Rebecca Beaven

What a unique place! A fabulously diverse menu and excellent latte! You definitely have to try this place.

Sean Brady

Really good service. Thoroughly enjoyed this breakfast and for downtown Chicago it was a bargain!

Sarah Scherf

I would give this place 5 stars if it was based on food alone. I got the pot roast eggs Benedict and it was fantastic. Others in the party got a scramble, caprisi eggs Benedict, and a fruit, yogurt, and granola type dish. They were all delicious and well made. Unfortunately, service was about 2 stars. Our waitress took forever to come by, took our drink and food orders and didn't return with drinks almost till the food came (it wasn't busy either, mid-morning on a Monday with plenty of open tables). Even then we had to re-ask for a drink in our party (we weren't a large group--just 5 of us). The food came and she never came back to check on us till we had to flag her down to ask for the bill. Too bad- this place deserves higher and would be if the service was good.

Crystal Roehm

Great food and service. The eggs Benedict was awesome, the coffee stayed full, and the server was attentive without being pushy.

Jeff Dinakar

I didn't realize how big of an institution Yolk is in Chicago until my most recent trip. It seems it's become one of the most popular options for brunch, and certainly with good reason. With various locations throughout the city and a standard but trendy menu, it's sure to be a hit with anyone who likes a good brunch. Speaking of the menu, I'll say you really can't go wrong with anything here, so come hungry. There's a good amount of selection and my biggest issue was that it was almost too much food for me (don't worry, I worked through the pain and managed to survive :) ). Definitely be a little adventurous and try some of the flavors/ combinations you won't be able to make at home, it's worth it! The service was great too, no complaints there at all. Because of how popular this place is, there's a good chance you'll be waiting for a bit to get a table. They do have a decent sized waiting area, and you can use the Yelp App to put yourself in line, so definitely do that! Ultimately, Yolk has become the benchmark that I compare brunch places to across the country. I'm noticing that more and more restaurants are starting to emulate a similar formula, but Yolk has cracked it. (Get it? I'll show myself out)

Ripped Rick

Had Brunch there for the 1st time and it was Delicious The restaurant is bigger than you expect. Food was Tasty and Staff was friendly. Will definitely be back since I work Nearby.

Joseph Hernandez

This was a must stop and have breakfast here... I had the Ricky omelette and it was amazing. Portions we're large and it came with side of your choice. I would definitely come back

Ken Gtwo

Good food and friendly, polite service.

Eric Raygoza

One of the best breakfast places I have been to. Service was great and attentive. Food took a little longer than expected but looked like it was cooked to order. Great tasting dishes I will definitely be coming back

Q L

A delicious and economical option for breakfast in the Windy city. I ate here every morning during my stay in Chicago. The Hey Ricky has to be my favorite thing on the menu. TRY IT! The pricing has went up substantially since I first visited in 2005, but it's still amazing. The portions are generous and the protein will keep you full throughout many blocks of touring. (:

Jeffrey Miller

Super LONG waits here, try to come early and before you are starving. They said 35 minutes and we had our table at the exact right time! Well worth the wait, service was great, food was delicious. I will definitely stop in again if I am in town!!!

El Tee

The Service was good. Our waitress Terica (like Erica) was super friendly and helpful. Portions are on the big side. A variety to choose from.

Gina Johnson

Delicious meal, my boyfriend and I were very impressed. Place was packed for breakfast. Would definitely recommend trying their strawberry orange juice, which is hand squeezed. A little pricey for a breakfast meal, but it's definitely worth every penny. Staff was very friendly and fast, we will definitely be returning!

Robert Lawrence

Yolk was interesting from the beginning. The place was packed to say the least, so we put our name on a waiting list. The list actually notified us with a text when our table was ready. The host was very welcoming. The food was superb. Took a little bit longer to be served because they were so busy, but our waiter took our order right away. The staff was very professional when there were mishaps in the kitchen (we sat at the bar so it was easy to see). Good price for the quality and amount of food, and is within proximity of many of the hotels on Michigan Ave. Would highly recommend.

Janie Liu

Food was great and service was fast. We went to eat brunch here on a weekday as our flight got into Chicago late Tuesday night. We wanted to eat here again before our flight left on Saturday night but the wait was insane. Best to go on a weekday.

Monica Stevens

The service was good even though they were short staffed. I watched them moving non-stop and they never copped an attitude. I decided to try something different so I ordered the West Coast Crepes. I'm still thinking about the first bite and the flavor and texture satisfying every cell in my mouth, a mixture of salt and semi sweet. You can easily split this dish. Two crepes that are larger than expected. Be prepared to wait and it's quite loud. Grab a mint or two on the way out. So good.

marv echipare

Come early morning for less queue. The place is busy but also very good. The menu in itself makes you want to order everything. Very good place to start your day and have some good breakfast. We had the yolk combo special and upgraded to red velvet French toast. Yum! The servers were also very kind and nice! Always nice to be greeted with a smile. :)

Alexis Danielle

This place was packed (with good reason). Lots of fun dishes and not overpriced. Great and fast service. The only complaint I had were that the pancakes were a little overdone and hard to cut. Otherwise, very good!

Emily Shen

Everything at Yolk is very good. Not amazing, but very good. We got the Flame burger and the All-Star combo with the upgraded banana blue crunch cakes, which are pancakes with granola and blueberries mixed in the batter and topped with bananas. They were so unique—I’d really recommend them. I loved the sausages on the combo plate as well, they were juicy and not too salty. The burger was a nice, hearty option for brunch too. Our server was very nice and attentive. Overall, food was solid and but I think there are trendier and cooler options for brunch at about the same price in Chicago. PS. Join the waitlist on Yelp beforehand so you don’t have to wait in person! The lines are insane on weekends.

Daniel Jean Jr

I love this place. Great food and atmosphere every time I'm there. The lines can be a little long but that's par for the course based on the location

John Klak

Eggsquisite! Their menu is robust with a lot of options for any time of day. The portions match the prices. The omelette I had was delicious. The staff was great and made sure we didn't run out of water, coffee, etc. All in all, I was very satisfied and would recommend stopping here. Especially for breakfast. The earlier you arrive, the better as the place does get busy the closer you get to noon.

Ryan VanderPlas

Good, quick for a sit and order place, and reasonably priced. Skip the pancakes and go for the English muffin. Would be nice if the greeter was on her phone less and paying attention to who was entering.

Richard and Nancy Austermann

Great breakfast!! My husband LOVED his Red Velvet pancakes. The Berry O.J. was amazing! So glad we went!

Aybaybay G

I give it a 5 for the customer service. The waiter Radu was extremely nice and happy (We look young, so it's rare that we get treated fair). He checked on us a lot even with all the tables he had during lunch time. We were seated quickly in a booth. The food was OK and it took awhile for it to come out, but it was midday. -Decent food -OK prices -Quick Wait Time -Awesome Waiter

Shawn Norton

My top spot for brunch. I love this place. The staff was very welcoming and sociable. It has a cool interior. Menu is like a place in San Francisco I loved.

Amber Evans

Brunch, yeah, super good. I give this spot two thumbs up. Prices were fair for the quality of the food.

Adam Garrison

Delicious breakfast no matter what you get. The chicken and waffles were excellent and the red velvet French Toast was very sweet but good. Definitely a great breakfast stop!

Joi Kelly

I just love brunch! But it can be miserable if you don't have the right servers. Ladies get your mimosas ready because Yolk serves up a hefty portion of edibles, (my plate was filled, love it) with a side of delight. Let me explain the definition of delight in an acronym, BYOB. Thank you Yolk. I am quite the picky eater and I asked for a side of simple syrup, a few orange slice and a glass of oj, as I brought a bottle of Prosec, mimosas anyone? The servers were so pleasant and gave these right away before the meal so we could prepare. After dropping of these trinkets, our waiter stayed close to our table to make sure our homemade mimosas were to our liking. I apologized repeatedly to our server for having him bring the slices and syrup, as I requested them twice. He was more than accommodating bringing real fresh oranges AND recommended grapefruit slices as an fun alternative. We brought about 3 and a half bottles for our table of 4. Needless to say I had between 5 and 19 glasses of bubbly OJ that morning/afternoon. I cant recall, don't judge! What I am proud of though, is the fact that I made the decision to go to this brunch spot and now have been dubbed the unofficial brunch queen. We're going to visit a few spots to find the best mimosas in Chicago. And what's a foodie journey without Yelp. I'm here to review my best life. This is my first review of many please follow me closely as I like to drink my food and I may get lost in words. I guarantee you it's all worth it!

Paula Chau

Cinnamon roll French toast and bagel sandwich were amazing! Highly recommend this brunch spot in Chicago!

Bryan Ellis

I just love the food at the Yolk. Great service

Brett Buchert

Great spot for breakfast on our trip to Chicago. Portion sizes are large so you'll get your money's worth and have leftovers. Coffee is delicious!

Paula Stone

Not going to give it a particularly good rating as it wasn't as spectacular as it had been recommended to us and overpriced. Food was poor. Bacon could have stood up on it's own and why is sugar sprinkled on everything. However, the only good thing about the place was the waitress.

Siobhan Houlihan

Very busy so we sat at the bar after a 15 minute or so wait. Loved the french toast, very decadent ! The cream cheese frosting swirl was delicious. The eggs were pretty good but a bit *too* cheesy if that's possible. It was quite noisy.

Van Tran

The sausage was excellent. The nutella crepe was too sweet. The atmosphere was super modern, trendy and lovely.

Kenneth Dorado

Good up to great-ish service costing the high volume of for traffic they get. Be sure to check wait times on Yelp and get onto the wait-list. This helps avoid the 45+ minute wait during prime times. 5 stars reserved for more of a unique menu (TBD) vs the expected omelettes and eggs benedicts.

Miranda Danforth

Delicious food. Fast service especially for a busy Saturday morning.

Shaun Bates

Loved the food, and the servers were absolutely terrific! I would recommend this place to everyone

Essence M.

This is my favorite breakfast spot and has been for almost ten years. It's not extravagant, it's consistently perfect breakfast. My favorite item is the breakfast combo with eggs (I usually add in veggies), turkey sausage, and French toast. One summer, I went to every brunch spot that served French toast. Yolk won and it's forever my go-to.

Karen Sochia

Fast and Friendly service. Food was yummy

Shanelle Swith

Busy brunch restaurant with in bright, cheerful space. Yolk has various locations in the city and has been featured in various magazines and tv shows. Came here for brunch on a Saturday after spending all day yesterday at Lollapalooza, so we were in desperate need of sustenance. We put ourselves on the waitlist through Yelp which I would highly recommend because it was still very busy even though we went at an awkward time and it took an hour to get the table. When we were seated, they immediately brought out a water jug and glasses which was greatly appreciated. I split the pot roast Benedict with a friend along with a single serving of the nutty monkey cake. The pot roast Benedict is apparently a staff favorite and we asked for the hollandaise on the side to control the amount of sauce. It comes with two Benedict's and a side of potatoes - I really liked my food. The beef was tender and the red potatoes were also soft. They do have ketchup on the side but I would recommend the Yolk original hot sauce which was smoky and not too spicy. The habanero hot sauce on the other handle had a strong kick of spice to it. The nutty money cake was really, really rich - I'm glad we only got a single serving and split it. It's a pancake with bananas, chocolate chips, and peanut butter on top. There's butter and syrup on the side although we didn't put those things on. It was so decadent we couldn't finish it. The peanut butter might be too much and overwhelms the chocolate but it was still good. I also really liked the service here. Even though it was busy, our waitress was super sweet and kept coming by to make sure we were all good. She also proactively asked how we wanted the check split as there was four of us. Overall a really yummy brunch spot with awesome food.

Jon Byrd

Overall a great experience. Service was outstanding and there were plenty of tables. The food was good, but I was hoping for a little more flavor in the chicken and waffles, especially with the addition of gravy.

Jake Simon

I was in town for a conference and happened dropped in as Yolk was on my walk from the train to the event. I have been eating a keto diet for about a month and a half and always have a filter on for keto-friendly menus. A breakfast place is usually safe as you can do eggs, bacon, sausage fairly easily and customization isn’t usually frowned upon. I had plenty of choices - knowing that the included sides (potatoes or cheesy grits and toast/English muffin) would be skipped. A five-egg omelette sounded like too much for me that day, so I went with El Torero Scrambler and added mushrooms. It was yummy and filling. I added some house hot sauces for a little extra heat. The place was hopping but not uncomfortably busy at 7am on a Monday. I sat at the bar since I was solo. I was not in a hurry, so it didn’t bother me that it took a few minutes more than normal to get service, but everyone that talked to me was super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is nice and they had music in the background, but it was at perfect volume. The bill came quickly. All in all a great breakfast experience. **I love providing Google Reviews - if this has helped you in any way, please like and/or share this review. Thank you!**

Meghan Davenport

Yolk. was a delightful spot- as a solo traveler, I was able to skip the line and nab a seat at the counter. The service was friendly and fast, the food was delicious and flavorful. I would come back to try more things from their expansive menu.

Diana B

Love coming here for breakfast, brunch. Service is always fast and friendly. You can make your own meal or choose from menu. Place is always packed and yes, definitely worth waiting.

Geoff lawson

It came highly suggested, 45 min wait, I was underwhelmed. Service was good. My potatoes were undercooked and toast was burned. Eggs were what they were supposed to be other than under seasoned. The rest of my group enjoyed their breakfast so maybe I will chalk mine up to bad luck.

Mitchel Porter

Good food and lovely staff. Would recommend if you're in the area

Zach Martin

This place used to be 5 star, but quality took a hit so it is down to a 4. They have a great menu and great food, but when they are busy the quality can dip. Crunch cakes not crunchy, bacon over cooked, and some runny eggs that shouldn't have been. Their coffee is still some of the best in Chicago, and tons of room for seating. If the wait is too long, you may want to move on though. The wait staff was excellent in my experiences there.

Wayne Marcy

Great multigrain and blueberry pancakes. Service was fast and they had alternative milk products oat and almond.

Suzi

Great place! Food and staff very good. Friendly! Quality food!

Misty Suttle

The wait isn't too bad. The wait to place your order and get your check it a lot longer. The food is delicious! The nutella crepe is good. Very sweet. Prices are a bit much but probably normal for the city.

Alexandra Schoonover

The food is excellent and comes in big portions. Definitely go on a weekday. We first tried to go on the weekend and the wait was over an hour! Went on a Thursday morning and there was no wait!

Craig Medd

It was worth the wait. My wife and I ate at the bar. We ordered the Avacado Toast which isn't pictured. We got a side of the corn beef hash, and their breakfast nachos. Everything tasted great.

Astasia Carla Pagnoni

Food is good, but the noise and the wait spoils the experience. Impossible to have a conversation. Everyone is yelling, while commercial music blares into your ears. Too bad.

Kandace Wallace

They were busy and still got our food out pretty fast. Delicious food especially for the price! Our server Montre was very friendly.

Jordan Clayborne

A friend recommended this place and at first I was weary when I walked in and felt like I was in an HOP. I ordered the whole grain pancakes and a California omelette. The food came out in a timely manner and the waitress was awesome. The food, however was a bit average. It did come out hot and left me and my friend satisfied. If you’re in a hurry, I’d recommend using the wait app and putting yourself on the list ahead of time to reduce wait as it got super busy after we sat down (9:30 am) Oh also, I think they might have forgotten to turn the air on as it was kinda stuffy and wam inside

Shilpi Dixit

Perfect place for lunch/brunch. Crowded on weekends. Kids friendly. Big and sharable portion size. LOVE their coffee. Friendly staff.

Kristi Templeton

Generous servings, friendly and fast service, delicious coffee and food.

Samantha Martinez

Waited only 10 minutes since I wait listed on Yelp, but great experience overall! Our family enjoyed the Red Velvet french toast, eggs, waffles, and sausage! Our waitress was attentive and nice.

Jennifer Chuu

This place lives up to the hype. The portions are large and the sweet dishes especially are unique and exceptional. The banana bread is a must. I also noticed the avocados were particularly sweet and flavored in any dish.

Yanni Gonzalez

Amazing food, great service, I went there everyday for breakfast while I was on vacation..

A C

Waitress was very attentive. The food was great And we received it quickly. I had the Ricky omelet and I'm not kidding when I say that it might have been the best omelet I've ever had. So good. Having our young daughter wasn't awkward here, so that's always a plus in chicago. Would highly recommend.

Marc Santarromana

Food is good. Great selection

Rishi Alain Mungal

Advertised as the best breakfast in Chicago. They live up to this promotion admirably. Expect a lot of people and a wait. Book in advance via Yelp to minimize your wait time

Vince Londini

Amazing Baby Kale Scrambler, Baby Kale blueberry, strawberry, chicken salad. Great service. Thank you, Svenjana!

Andrew Yoo

Very very busy on the weekends. Get your spot in line online before going otherwise the wait is pretty long. Besides that, food was great and we got a cozy little spot in the corner by the windows which I enjoyed.

Gabby T

The food here is FANTASTIC! My sister and I visited Chicago this year and our breakfast at Th Yolk was one of the best meals of the trip! I highly recommend the Mac and Cheese!!

corey richardson

It's a bit in the pricey side for breakfast however the service was top notch. Huge shout to Victoria for coffee suggests and over experience. I'd come back again but I'll get the scramble

Cam Hunter

Great great spot for just everything. Even more than the breakfast, at this bright south loop diamond, the customer service shines like their sunny side up eggs. Thanks for the experience guys. You don’t need it but here’s another 5 star review.

Miles Bliss

Came in for breakfast and had a very delightful experience. My friend enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast sandwich and i enjoyed the corned beef hash breakfast. The server was also a delight, along with the rest of the staff. If your going to the museums and need a breakfast spot beforehand, give this place your business.

George Powers

Great place for breakfast. Fun to watch staff do their thing. Lots of interesting items on the menu.

Mark Rowland

Great food, worth the wait. But... the noise level is out of control. For some reason, all Yolk locations have removed their acoustical tile drop ceilings and turned their music up loud (seriously Yolk management, why IS the music so loud?) You can’t hear yourself chew, much less think, nor can you have a decent conversation with your table mates without yelling. We love the food but I’m tired of getting home and being hoarse from yelling just to be heard.

Eline Meyvis

We had a lovely breakfast on our first morning in Chicago!

Billie Chan

Super friendly service and our all star combo with upgrade to nutella crepe was enough to feed two! Make sure you go on the Yelp Waitlist before you go to ensure that you don't have to wait that long.

Manuel Cantoria

Great place for breakfast and brunch. Extensive menu with several favorites, including great omelets, pancakes and other specialties. Their coffee is outstanding. Get there early, as seating can be a challenge during peak hours... One of our favorite breakfast spots in Chicago.

Kristin Richey

From the outside Yolk looks like a simple cafe but as you get closer and see the line you realize you may be onto something special. If there's a wait you can opt for a seat at the bar which is what we did and it was a great experience. Everyone was friendly and it's truly service with a smile. On top if that they have an extremely impressive breakfast menu full of dishes packed with fresh ingredients and curated with creativity. This is a great stop for whatever you could wish for in a breakfast.

Danielle Graziana

best scramble eggs in town for sure . go try is really yum

Maria Bazan

This place was soooo good!! I loved it. It was packed but it was worth the wait. I had the Torero scramble it came chorizo, egg, cheese, tomotoe and topped with sour cream and salsa verde on the side. It also came with a side of pancakes and breakfast potatoes.

Dominique Horon

The food at Yolk is great. Breakfast for 2 adults and 1 child fell just under $50. We all left full. The sausage links are amazing!!!

darin ohio

Excellent food. Great Friendly service

Customer service was actually great. Our server was very attentive and quick with our food. Had their Green chilaquiles, which was good until I realized it was doused with red onions, not even exaggerating. Husbands had a basic cheese scrabble with a side of potato and buttered toast. Eggs were under cooked to his liking and the potatoes were so bland it needed all the help it can get. Very mediocre. Sitting was quick on a friday morning.

Bob Faull

Wonderful service. So-so food. The restaurant at the Essex up the street is much better.

Dale Gordon

I guess I'm not like most, I didn't appreciate the long wait for the (lack of) quality of food. I've had better at Waffle House. They don't know how to make over medium eggs or crisp bacon. Only place I've ever been that cooked the food I sent back again versus cooking new, is that sanitary? One piece of bacon looked like it had a bite out of it. The crepes were....not anything special. I will contribute some to it being busy. The place is to small for how many people they stuff in. I would have given a one star but the strawberry orange juice was fantastic.

There is one word that describes this place best Delicious!!!! Great service, outstanding flavors and fair prices. Portions are big, so be hungry!

Jason Brown

Great food, great atmosphere. Get there early or be prepared to wait, very popular location!

Chris Schmidt

Food is reasonably good, but don't even bother on weekends unless you like standing around for an hour.

Felipe Lobatos

Great food. Long was long so make sure to put your name in as soon as you can. Had a Santa Fe frittata and some delicious blue berry lemon pancakes.

Andrei Peter Petrinca

Great, friendly, fast and courteous service, even though the place was packed full. The food is surprisingly tasty and well presented, and the portions are huge. Eggs came as ordered and the steak was exceptionally well seasoned and made exactly as ordered. Prices are moderate, so it won't break your bank. Enjoy!

Soooo my friend and I went in, saw the place, loved the ambience. We should have technically just joined the wait list on Yelp online before getting to the venue, which would have easily led us to avoid an hour worth of waiting, but that is what we get for doing a totally random spur of the moment day out. But, irrespective of that wait, it was worth it. The food, the ambience of a cute diner, especially because we got to sit at the breakfast bar and see them do the beautiful service right while we ate, oh I would definitely go back if I could and would recommend it too!!

John Harrison

What a great place to go to have breakfast. The service was great and the food was fresh and delicious.

Leslie Hills

The breakfast was amazing. Great food and our waitress Lana was the bomb. When traveling it's hard to find a good breakfast restaurant, but let me tell you, this hit the spot. A must do when in Chicago.

Ted Mall

Breakfast, brunch, lunch...have it your way. A morning time happy place offering tried and true plus some unusual dishes in a wonderfully cheery surrounding. Although, a cafe chain, it has a feel of an independent streak. Service is with a smile and geared to please even when the place gets crowded, which it does on weekends. Nevertheless, a happy place to be in the mornings.

Angelina Huang

I love this place! They have amazing service and amazing food! Definitely order their red velvet french toast. It's fluffy and moist and not overly sweet. Literally perfect! I'll definitely be back again soon.

Joe Samo

I have eaten here several times on business trips and have always been happy with quality and service. Staff is helpful and friendly. Portions are large so bring your appetite. The side order of pancakes is a double stack about 8 inches in diameter. I would eat here again.

First of all, use the waiting list feature. It will save you a whole lot of sitting around time. Yolk is always very busy. It’s one of those places where you have to try something different each time. Every new dish will be your new favorite. Ambience- was a Warm and inviting look. Like a modern diner look. Cleanliness-Clean place overall. Outside inside and seating area was great. Menu- limited omelettes but has a creat your own omelette section. Tons of new selections. Presentation-Food has a great finished look. Nice job looked delicious. Price- pricier side of an average breakfast restaurant but average for Chicago. Service-Even though it was extremely busy service was adequate and extremely friendly. Summary-No matter how far you are check Yolk out. There are tons of breakfast places. Yolk won’t disappoint.

Tonisha Thorpe

Excellent food with great service! The wait wasn't long and the food was delicious. Family friendly!! The red velvet French toast is a must.

Pasquale Strati

Nice breakfast spot if you are around Chicago. Prices are good and service is great. Recommended

Jared Andrews

Food was presented very well. I ordered water and got a warm bottle of it, and was given no ice! Service was average for what would be expected at the local diner. Prices were fair.

Todd Walroth

Yum! Great food and excellent service. Kids had fun too. Family friendly. Good atmosphere. Must visit!

sebastian bach

Very busy on weekends but you will be seated quite quickly thanks to speedy service. Average menu items for breakfast restaurant but the value is good.

David Gerst

Excellent corn beef hash and pancakes. Breakfast Mac and cheese was extraordinary.

Jaime Keck

Always a fave when visiting Chicago! Whenever I visit Chicago this is my place to go for a delicious breakfast/brunch. Food never dissappoonts. They have many locations but by far this has been my favorite, although their other locations are good as well. The employees are very friendly and always helpful and fast. They get busy everyday and most times there is a wait but the wait usually goes fast. This location is close to the park and aquarium and museums which makes for a fun day just outside their front doors to discover Chicago.

ghanouneh

I love this place. The wait was about an hour, but it was worth it. The food was great!! My daughter loves their crepe.

Katia Martinez

Great experience! Didn't wait too long in line since we reserved a spot on yelp. The service was good and the food was delicious. There is a variety of breakfast and brunch options and reasonable prices.

E B

Great selection of breakfast dishes and plenty to choose from. I recommend making a reservation ahead of time as it can get very busy with long wait times.

Laurie Marks

Large assortment of brunch items. Very plentiful! Excellent service. You will have a wait but worth it.

Cory Gotto

This wasn't on our agenda and just ran across it. Very good service and food!

Tricie Goins

Yolk used to be amazing years ago. Every time I try them they get worse. I ordered delivery from them today and specified for my steak to be seasoned well and cooked medium. The steak was as bland as ever and was cooked well. I was hoping they improved but I was sadly mistaken. I completely wasted my money. I wish I would have just went to Fogo De Chao for a couple more bucks and had a great meal. Updated response: Thank you for your response. As a manager of a food establishment you should know that if a steak is cooked to medium properly, there is no way it can become well-done by simply sitting in a styrofoam container for the 7 minute drive to my location. It could have set for 20 minutes. It should not have been well-done. Suggesting that I eat at your establishment in order to get what I ordered and paid for is absolutely ludicrous. I see why the cooks don't care to satisfy the customers. It starts at the head. Very poor service and an even worse response.

Harris Patel

Busy place ! That's when you know the place is happening. Great food and good coffee. Enjoy !

PSeq Zene

Amazing food, good for brunch. A bit noisy but who cares if the food is good. Try their house habanero sauce.

John Whitten

Great breakfast. Pricey, but very good. Avocado toast shown

Shaheera Ahmad

Yummy. Portions are smaller than expected but very good food

Cameryn Dennis

Great service and great food. A different pancake of the month each month! Usually decent street parking as well.

Riana Pinto

The place is always busy.. especially if you go on a weekend. After a hr we got our seats. The pancakes are good. Traditional breakfast combo is a good idea. I also ordered the south of the border eggs benny - which I didn't like...not my cup of tea. But the pancakes (we had the blueberry pancakes) that was delicious

Jake Peterson

Had breakfast here on Sunday morning with my wife. We put in advance a wait for our table, and even with arriving early before our table was ready, it didn’t take too long and we had plenty of standing room. Our server was very attentive to us throughout the morning and we had a fantastic breakfast. We will be coming again in the future, highly recommend!

Briar Voy

The menu looks amazing but the food itself left much to be desired. The restaurant entrance was dirty as well as the bathroom. With all of the amazing options Chicago has, pass on this one.

Truong Le

Great food with a decent selection. A little pricey, but it's Chicago. The portion size is a big.

Sarai Romero

Came here for brunch for my birthday and it was so delicious! My hubby had the chilaquiles which were good just needed a bit more of a kick but we like spicy. I had the chicken and waffles and myself and my 10 month old loved it! Service was outstanding, they made sure our coffee was always full. Definitely recommend this spot.

Jarod Rollins

Takeout took 30 minutes for a lackluster wad of egg and cheese. Packaging was atrocious waste of plastic and paper. Lots of options in the area, so you are better off somewhere else.

Michael Sides

Food was decent but nothing special. Wait staff was very nice and helpful.

Gianni lachance

This restaurant is very overpriced because for two people it cost upwards of $40 but you do get reasonable portion. But the service slacks a little because once they get your order they don’t really come back until your food is ready

Joshita Arora Dhawan

Excellent service, we ordered iron man 5 eggs omelette and California 5 egg omelette, it was perfectly done. Loved there ingredients and service. A tip to remember sat sun are always busy so better to put your name in waiting list.

Arun Singh

If you could reach this place on weekend before 8:30AM you can be seated right away but after that waiting starts. It is kid friendly place and we have gone there few times now with our grandchild who is 15 months old. There is inside space to park the stroller. There is nothing to dislike anything on their menu. If you are ordering their 5 eggs omelette make sure you have brought enough appetite for that. It can be easily shared with another person. Service is fast and we never had to wait long for our order. This visit we tried their avocado omelette and it was good. I recommend this place. The place is warm and inviting.

Andy Chrastek

Great selection of savory and sweet breakfasts. Very friendly and reasonably priced. Get there early to avoid the wait! Good coffee, cute teapot but weak tea. 5/5!

Alexandra Beaty

Brilliant long wait but worth it

Eleanor Niedermeier

Food wasn't bad but I'm not sure it's worth the wait, although the prices weren't too bad for Chicago prices. Server wasn't very good at all. It's too busy in there and you can feel it.

Les Lewis

This a great place to go for breakfast when you go to Chicago. Good portions, good prices, great food. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Jeff B

Food was great, service was quick and friendly! We got the all-star combo and the very berry french toast(which was a pretty large portion-about 6 pieces!).

Denise Foster

We had a great family brunch here. The service was quick and the food was good. The water sucked!

Brandon Dykstra

Very enjoyable breakfast. Food and service was excellent.

Andrew Forbes

Yummy yummy yummy...best potatoes and breakfast sausages I've ever had

Rafael B

1 star for the omelette, 4 for the peanut butter banana bread. Service was lovely.

Raj Joshi

This is the second time we have been here in last month. Environment is great, service is friendly and food is very tasty. I had Eggs Benedict with smoke salmon and added avocado. It was fantastic. It might not be important to some, but I really like coffee here as well. Will go there again.

Angelina Huang

I love this place! They have amazing service and amazing food! Definitely order their red velvet french toast. It's fluffy and moist and not overly sweet. Literally perfect! I'll definitely be back again soon.

James O'Brien

Yolk is a Chicago staple, and it feels like every location must be excellent. I hadn't been back in a year, and their Red Velvet French Toast had been on my mind like once a week. Their savory options are good too. Your best bet is to share with a friend. Portions are generous and service is excellent. They'll even offer you a cup of coffee for the road! I wish they'd expand to more cities, like New York or Newark!

Madhu velayudhan

The food was great and so was the ambience. Lot of breakfast options.

Char Cargill

The food is always good. It never disappoints my clients whenever I suggest Yoll for a meeting.
