REVIEWS OF New Wave Coffee IN Illinois

Amazing coffee and amazing sandwiches I ran into this place when I went to go skate at Logan skatepark and I always enjoy a cup of coffee when I skate. I fell in love with this place and didn't remember where it was so I never found it again. Luckily Google reminded me recently that I came here before and now I know where it is so I can go again. Coffee is hot it's not sitting there all day that's great and that sandwich with avocado was amazing.

Chilled Driving

Odd place, supposed to be "hip" but I just don't get it. Rough, no proper furniture, loud and echo-y. Coffee was average, food selection mediocre, and I tried to order a scone, one of the few things they had to eat, and they kept calling it a "biscuit". Seriously, American or not, it can certainly never be a "biscuit". Either way, the "biscuit" was mediocre too.. I'm sure some people like this place, I will go and be "hip" somewhere else, thank-you...

Andre Gordillo

Funky, spacious, artsy spot. Epitomizes the Logan Square vibe. Coffee from Half-Wit Roasters. Open later than most other coffee spots in the neighborhood. Have a printer you can use to scan and fax as well.

Corina Muro

Walked in and cashier did not greet my husband and I. Instead, he continued counting his cash to close out his day. He not once asked if we wanted anything else. I understand he probably wanted to leave, however customer service should always be a priority. He might need to be retrained in what true customer service means.

Relationship Bod

Cool, hipster spot for coffee and tea. Not the comfiest cafe to sit and do work, and have a small selection of tea. But overall cool vibes, and they have a printer if you need to print stuff out.

Jacklyn Andersen

Lots of options and easily my favorite coffee shop.

Matt C

I go here nearly everyday to work. Friendly staff, good vibes, and good tunes. Plenty of seating if you get there early enough. Would layer up in the winter because it can get drafty in there.

Adeyemi Kuye

Cool options

M S

Like to come to this place to work a few hours a day during the week. The WiFi STINKS- the only consistent thing about it, is how unreliable it is. Off and on at the most inconvenient times, constantly. So many people complain about it. I've told the employees a few times now, I don't know how many times I have to tell them before something actually changes- but unless I hear differently- I'm sadly going to have to go consume coffee/lunch/work elsewhere. FIX YOUR WIFI!!!

David Resnick

Very nice. Very chill. Friendly vibe.

Mike Beyer

Good coffee, cool atmosphere. Friendly server.

Mark C

Friendly staff, great coffee, large space, comfortable environment.

John Wilkie

This is a nice open space cafe where you can grab a good hot chocolate (I'm not a coffee guy) and lounge around for a bit. They have comfy chairs and sofas for those who want to relax and and read for a bit or jump on the free wifi and do all their e-stuff. Staff is very polite. I will certainly be coming back soon.

Jacob Snyder

Great coffee, great food, great art. TERRIBLE internet unfortunately. They seem to cater to the freelance crowd during the day, even adding a printer, but the place is impossible lately... Also music is good, but not ideal for a work day most of the time. I love this place, but I am probably going to find some place else to spend time... Dropping to 3 stars. The wifi just doesn't even work at all most of the time...

Terri Bowden

Pleasant music and decor; great coffee and pastries.

Emily Bosakowski

Good working space on weekdays, good meeting up with people space on evenings and weekends. Lots of natural light, outdoor patio, great art, best women's bathroom graffiti in Chicago. Much cleaner then they used to be. I would give 5 stars if they had outer doors on their doors in the winter, freezing blasts of Chicago wind inside are a buzzkill.

Beth Sample

Great for coffee and weekend people watching.

Tara Schnaible

One of the truest "college coffee shop" experiences in Logan Square. Funky atmosphere, lots of places to sit (and a nice outdoor patio in the summer). Good nibbles and coffee - just a neat place to hang out.

Alex Jay

Long lines and dirty staff members

Terrence istheman

With Intelly, Ipsento, Bow Truss, & Gaslight within walking distance, there many other options to consider first. Probably open the latest nearby though

Sipep Design

This place is great. They have amazing coffee, fresh bakery items, and it is very comfortable. They have lots of power plugs that make it easy to plug in a laptop and get a little work done. While enjoying a cup of coffee. We ofter grab a cup of coffee here and recharge as a team.

Nelly Villanueva

I love this place to hang out. The neighborhood is really lovely and the area itself is beautiful. Inside is nice to chill with your friends and vintage looking. The food is delicious and I love their coffee. I love the atmosphere of the place and I just really enjoy going. I LOVE FREE WIFI.

Carlos Fegurgur

Great coffee shop to get work done. Medium sized yet feels pretty spacious with more than enough seats. Coffee is good and drinks are decently priced. Also offers food but I've yet to try any. Does get pretty packed at times but not overly so for the majority of times I've gone. I live nearby and it's become my go to coffee shop in the area.

Dybbuk Klezmer

Great little living room style coffee shop. Perfect place to sit and do homework or meet a friend for coffee.

christopher aviles

Great Coffee, very shill spot to hang and do remote work if needed. Food available and gluten free.

Mark Booczko

Metropolis house that does it right. Bohemian setting. Good music in the background.

Patrick Lee

Great coffee and good cookies. Wifi is accessed very easily

Karlos Sanchez

Great place for a Chai and focus on work work, school work, or just to lounge.

Greg LeVault

Great atmosphere. Doable prices and friendly to the recovery crowd.

this that

New Wave coffee is a good space. It's got good coffee, the location is premium, and the people are nice too or maybe sometimes too cool but what do you expect? It's a place to get peered at from behind an overpriced MacBook through lenses of overpriced rims. But again I like this place and it's got space and is real coo.

David Fish

Funky, cool place serving Metropolis coffee and a few food options. Good all around.

Cheri Bjork

Fav Cafe in Logan. Very chill spot, great coffee and tea selections. Always have a vegan option for yummy pastries. Agreeable baristas.

Susie Xiong

Love their pies, but there are better places out there for tea.

tyler gates

New staff is a a bit strange.. They have a food menu on display, but the past couple times in a row they refused to serve it to me, with a new excuse each time. It must be too much of a hastle for them.

priincess yukii

its fun and cool and hip. the coffie is good and it has wifi,. you can sit there and have meeting and it just a good time . they have a good food .lets not forget the tea its just the best, any kind. They also have the really cool art. at one time they even showed wrestling mask.

Jordan Hoisington

This is the Platonic Ideal of a Coffee Shop. Also it's the sort of Coffee Shop where they know what Platonic Ideal means. Super good coffee, food, and tea. YUM!

Mollie Weyburn

My first time here, definitely not my last! Amazingly rich honey cinnamon latte! The bomb!

Shane Bugbee

Coooool. Lots of seating. Great music.

Sean Cronin

Nice spot to meet people or do some work

Dan Manion

Good coffee and atmosphere. Unsurprisingly, very pretentious.

Joe R

Excellent neighborhood coffee shop.

Abba Bernard

This place is a nice coffee shop for those who need to kick back and relax. Drink some coffee, set up your laptop, enjoy the free wifi and do your thing. The menu has many different coffees all ranging in prices affordable, with very tasty treats as well. If your in the logan square area come check it out for some tasty coffee.

Boone Ott

Their coffee isn't the best in the neighborhood but the vibe and the space is great! They have solid sandwiches and the Nutella Mocha is enough reason to try it out. The food is a little pricey in my opinion.

Jeff Trout

Great brew, nice pastries and snacks, chill environment, with easy-going staff; what more could you need from a neighborhood coffee bar? I'll be back!

Sam Fike

Great cafe. Lots of tables to sit and read or get some screen time. Good hot coffee. One of the best in Logan Square

Laura Carmer

It's very comfy and the staff is friendly I just feel like a lot of their items are over priced bur it is Logan Square so... It's a really good meet up or hang out and get work done kind of place though

Tressa Dorman-Downing

Coffee is good, so are the baked goods and there is SO much space. I'll likely visit again and work awhile on my laptop. The vibe is artistic but sassy. I liked how different it was.

Leonardo P

Great place to relax and work.

Justin Henderson

Great spot with plenty of spaces to sit and plug in. It's a fun location with a nice selection of tasty sandwiches as well.

Katie Daniel

Hipster coffee spot with great Metropolis espresso! Sandwiches and pastries also available.

Jacek Janowski

Awesome latte!

Peter Tulloch

My grilled cheese sandwich was just toasted white bread with some melted cheddar. Disappointing.

Evelyn Correa

Nice coffee shop! I enjoy how much space they have. A good place for individual work or group work.

Fernando Marcial

Nice selection of food and coffee! Has a selection of milks and syrups. Friendly staff. Abundant seating.

Maritza Alvarez

Great coffee and pastries!!

Noga Sachs

This is a very chill place to get work done. The space is expansive, outlets are plentiful as it's the sunlight and wifi is fast. The staff is very friendly and helpful and food looks good but pastries are not special or made in house. During the cold months make sure to bring and extra layer or two because the doors on opposite ends of this corner spot make for a seriously frigid wind tunnel!

Mimosa Shah

Colorful coffeeshop enhanced with vintage album covers, this corner hangout, while not necessarily amazing, is necessary. I can't say the same for the actual coffee, which is middling, or the food that often emits burnt scents. Servers are friendly, though, and that's a good place to start.

Daryn Pobanz

Always stop in for an americano when I'm setting up for the Logan Square Farmers Market on Sundays. You can find us at Jake's Country Meats from 10-3 and be sure to grab a hand-crafted beverage. #havemeatwilltravel

Roxann Paulson

5 stars for the keepin it real vibe, old school, throwback Thursday every day style, but a good cleaning and some warmth might keep this place at 5 stars. They have sought out the great Fritz pastries which is a plus but I always feel like I need to germify after going in. Maybe a broom and some organizational cabinets might help.

Snep Of Shadows

Comfortable atmosphere. A little *too* relaxed, though. Keep a close eye on your things if you're studying.

Dan Fisher

Logan's living room. Shame about its new neighbors

Migdalia Robles

Excellent food

Brit ney

So...I get a bagel w hummus and onion. Never been here before, everyone treated me with a very poor attitude. There are only pumpernickel bagels left. Ok I'm down. This guy starts to toast bit. Comes out of the toaster and he walks away. I say nicely, the bagel came out. He just stands there ignores me and stares into space. I guess he was pretty stoned. So this guy with short hair and glasses says rudely to me, *we got it, well get it when we can*. When?? When you're done staring at the wall???? What kind of stupid people seriously work here? I gave it two stars cuz the food was actually ok. But the people that work here are seriously stupid af. I'll never come back here smh. The owner needs competent people working here...

Sara Swinehart

Great spot for doodling, drinking coffee, eating a snack, getting work done on the computer. Hip location, nice staff.

Courtney Prokopas

Lots of seating options, plenty of reasonably priced cafe offerings (hot drinks, baked goods, sandwiches), laid back staff. Not suffocatingly hip like other coffee shops in this neighborhood.

Michael Beyer

Nice place, friendly staff

Graeme W

I like this spot.

Kathryn Cervantes

Colorful and spacious with variety of seating. Bonus for playing Lizzo’s entire album during my visit.

Melina S. Campa

Great place to chill in the evening and either catch with some reading or work on your laptop while enjoying a nice cup of coffee and amiable ambiance. (Bonus: the tea selection is awesome and you get a free refill of hot water!)

Brenna Rich

Great coffee but the entire staff is super rude. If you dont want to have to give customer service then do not work in customer service.

litza m

Coffee isn't that great. Last time I was there the a.c.was blasting I practically got frost bite. One good thing is it's open fairly late.

Andrew Kunesh

Good place with decent coffee. Just wish they were still open until 11pm.

Caroline Rensman

Nice atmoshere, coffee n tea excellent. Large and plenty of room to play games. A fun place to visit.

Jess Mean

New Wave serves tasty Metropolis coffee with a side of hipster guilt (get off your phone before you order). The interior layout is a jumble of loveseats and cafe tables filled with studying art students and weekend warriors. Solid for carry out drinks and solitary work sessions, not ideal for groups or leisurely conversations.

Steph Parra

Stopped in for coffee in the 9 o'clock hour of a summer Saturday, outdoor seating area was half full, inside was really quiet. Relaxed atmosphere, eclectic decor, definitely a place to take it easy at that hour. Ordered a black Moonbot and a honey cinnamon latte. The Moonbot was a bit bitter but good, the latte was fantastic, reminded me of french toast. I just had breakfast so didn't try the variety of baked goods, but they looked tasty.

Kenni Terrell

Nice delicious coffee. I ordered the vanilla cinnamon lattee.

Arielle Besyk

Always friendly staff, chill local coffee joint! Hipster, artistic, and original vibe!

Jeremy k

Great neighborhood coffee and pastry spot. Biscuits with jam are fantastic! Art on the walls is always a great bonus.

Glenn Engstrom

Good coffee and great restroom graffiti. Located on Milwaukee in bustling Logan square

Noah Feingold

New Wave is a gem. They have all the crucial elements of a good coffee shop. My favorite Sunday activity is to come here, grab a coffee, and visit the Logan Square Farmers Market.

angela vanoppens

Staff was very rude. First time in and I waited back with my son to decide. Wheni finally walk up to the counter I ask the worker how they are doing and was greeted with a so blunt, and as if I had disrupted their day by stopping in. I turned right around and left. My son and I went to Starbucks. The environment was great. The comments left for this place are nothing short of great. But I will never spend my money in a place where if I ask you how you are when I am buying food and beverage from you and you blantly are rude because you arent used to our faces or we took too long to decide, then trust me, there are too many other great places to spend my money. I thought of going back to maybe try a different day and have a better experience, but even my chill son was like...no. They were rude dont go back.

Bharat Walia

Great service and has a lovely pacific barista blend almond milk latte.

La Petite Morte

I've lived this great little coffee shop since the day it opened. It's just enough off of the square that it doesn't feel crowded but close enough to do some good people watching. This place could easily tip into pretentious hipster coffee shop, but it manages to walk that line between PH and casually not caring. The drinks are made with care and attention, and I've yet to have anything bad, food or drink, any time I've been there. Highly recommended if you have the time to sit and appreciate.

Jill Flanagan

The staff is nice but 4.50 for an iced coffee is pretty steep even for Logan Square

Marcin K

Good place to get work done and then change gears and go out - not too loud but also quite busy. The sandwiches are odd which is nice, the pastries are aight, coffee too. Overall sort of expensive though.

Krista Vezain

My go to spot for Metropolis coffee - whole bean, 1/2 lb - and the croissants are delish. But I don't think I'd hang out here much, though. The music is always a little too loud in there. I get my coffee and go.

FRILLZ Chicago

Coffee is great. Plently of space to relax or work

Cass Welch

Good place to study. Not too loud

Elizabeth Kupser

Extremely friendly staff. Hung out here and got some work done while having a coffee.

Larry Kamphausen

Spacious and they use Metropolis Coffee beans. The espresso and drip coffee are both excellent here.

Deb Grant

Absolutely Love Coming in here to sip on my tea and read a book. Love, Love, Love it :)

Hazal Goksu

Good coffee, good location and cool decoration! I like how the chairs are so old and how there're windows everywhere.

Jonathan Franco

What can be said about this cafe, Enjoyable atmosphere, great staff, a bunch of stickers to so be ready to laugh. Excellent menu and lots to choose from. In all discussion it’s a pretty good place to sit back and do homework. The only flaw is not much parking but go ahead and try it.

Brendan Carey

Very laid back and comfortable place to hangout. They brew Metropolis so the coffee is always good.

matthew gilboy

Metropolis coffee, not my fave but might be yours. Comfortable and spacious seating. Outdoor seating available in season. Good spot to get work done comfortably or meet up with a group of folks. They used to have more vegan options; they don't seem to so much anymore.

Aaron Schwartz-Duval

Usually pretty bustling Good/great for people watching Not too hipstery Low-mid level chatter, you can have a conversation and not feel guilty about making too much noise. Has caffeine

Elisabeth Purkis

The coffee is great. The baristas are hip. The bathrooms need refurbishing.

Joseph Feinberg

chi11 vibez, good coffee

SommerAnn McCullough

Really fun hang-out space. Has a hipster vibe. You can also spent a lot of time there just chilling, on your computer or reading a book. Love their coffee-locally roasted and delish. Also really friendly baristas with good recommendations :)

Jorge Catalán

Really good coffee and a nice simple space.

Mark Wong-Ken

I used to hang out here 6 years ago and now I'm back to visit in 2018. Logan Square has changed much in the time that has passed, but New Wave has somehow remained exactly the same, improving perhaps the back end of things, but no spirit has been lost. Long live NWC.

Tobias Leenaert

Spacious, relaxed, vegan options. Only thing I don't like is the loud and hard music. Something softer would make it more attractive and easier to get some work done in this place

Lina Doska

Always packed at night! And love the coffee always great, hot, affordable and delicious tried the honey version was great. It's an unusual look inside kinda just put together randomly however don't let that scare you everything is great here even the vegan goodies.

Jon Rodriguez

Really nice ambience, servers were patient. The coffee is really good! I highly recommend the chocolate chip scone; its not too sweet, but its not bland or flavorless either. Perfect pairing for a latte. There's also free wifi so you can do your work and such, so that's nice. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I think it could use a little more lighting, not too much. This deserves 4.5 stars.

Anderson Vu

Coffee is delicious, pie is delicious, and there is plenty of seating. WiFi is kind of slow. Pro-tip: share the pie with someone else, slice is too much for one person!

Geoff Bashaw

Great coffee, Friendly staff, relaxed environment, and an easy going playlist on the speakers.

WJ MacGuffin

No frills but spacious, good coffee, and great service.

Roger Fierro

Good coffee. Good people watching. Miss the old couches tho

Roger Dimitrov

The Baristas are sometimes unprofessional the coffee is sometimes meh. Update: the Baristas are still sometimes unprofessional. Not rude they just behave as if professionalism isn't part of the gig. I think the problem here is lack of training and standardization. However, the sandwiches here are very very tasty. The coffee is getting better and the quality of the coffee is more consistent. When I order a cup of coffee I now know it's generally going to be okay and sometimes good. A pet peeve I have with this place is that music here is too loud and sometimes annoying. Im guessing that each barista takes a turn playing their music through the speaker system. Sometimes you get a barista that has really great taste other times you get a barista who has really awful taste. Either way you are listening to it the whole day.

Carly Adelsperger

The mocha latte was pretty good, and they had a friendly staff as well. The downside was the hardcore music they had on, making it not as chill and a little bothersome. Free wifi was a plus though.

Shelly S.

Good coffee and tasty baked goods plus a quiet sidewalk patio, what's not to like?

Alexandra Pacheco

This is a quaint little place to come and enjoy some coffee. My husband had the brie and it was alot better than expected. As for the turkey sandwich I consumed it had just the right amount of garlic combined with lettuce and the turkey meat. The mocha coffee had a bit to much foam but after about 4 packets of sugar was much more satisfying.

Audrey

Coffee is excellent and the atmosphere is very chill.

Chris Krolczyk

Got the drip coffee here, and although it wasn't spectacular it was flavorful and a cut above some places I could name. Worth your while, but judging by some of the negative reviews staffing might be hit or miss depending on who's on.

Eric Lee

The coffee is decent as heck. I like their bagel options quite a lot actually. The staff is nice as heck too. I sometimes come in with my glass purposely looking in the wrong direction and the staff is too polite to look at it. I know that's a crazy test but after what Rob Lowe was involved in the loss of my eye I think the world owes me this.

angelica lafemina

The staff is extremely friendly and timely. It feels like home. I love the ever changing art that is on for display. I love the music and the atmosphere.

Howard Gerber

Nice local coffee shop

Nicholas Ugo

Great coffee and sandwiches

Thuc Hoang

Super chill and spacious coffee shop and fits the area very well. The service was great and their lattes were pretty good. Defiantly a fan of this place and will be adding it to my ever expanding collections of neat coffee shops in Chicago.

Belle Lopez

Good place to hang out. Unfortunately, the $12 Good tasting BACK TO CALI baguette had skimpy filling, and a slightly burnt hard baguette WITH small HONEY CINNAMON LATTE in Metropolis Beans.

Wayne Combs

Best chai! I could have ordered two!

Tanner Trondson

Good sammiches. Good atmosphere.

Nathyn Gibson

A cool place to hang out in Logan Square. I went in one and they played Will Smith's "Big Willie Style" all the way through. It's a very chill enviroment with cool art work all around.

marilyn crowley

Two entrances for easy access, great coffee, pleasant staff, good music at the right level to still be able to get work done, and a very relaxed vibe. One critique: it's too popular and in too good a location with too few tables and chairs!

Dorothy Desouzaguedes

Spacious with a variety of seating. Could use more outlets and a thorough scrubbing. Coffee is meh.

Rafael Villa jr

Great atmosphere, staff is very kind, amazing coffee for a long study marathons

Mode Viril

The coffee is great! This cafe/museum offers art deco decor with the greatest album covers referencing the historic New Wave Era from the 1980s. The Synth Pop explosion sent waves in Chicago arrived on the north side in Lake View and Lincoln Park, both which were much cooler neighborhoods back then. Notably, Berlin Dance Club, the Smart Bar and Wax Trax Record Store paved the New Wave & Post-Punk scene imported from the UK and Europe and later LA, in Chicago. Music from that time has influenced dance, house, trance, rave, hip hop artists since then.

Patrick Sundlof

got caught in the rain after the festival and my band and I loved the atmosphere!

Brian Martinek

Plenty of room inside to move around and get comfortable, work or chat with a friend. Not a bad place to stop on right off the square for a cup of coffee. Typical pastries and coffee selections.

x x

Great neighborhood spot in Logan Square if you're not into the more corporate cafes around. Coffees and teas are tasty. Wifi is strong. You have couches to sit in more comfortably, or window seats on either end if you occasionally like to people watch as you relax. Good place to get away and hear some good music while you sip coffee and work...

Mateus Carneiro

Great coffee. Great space and music. Service is really friendly and welcoming. Sandwiches are good also.

Heta Patel

I am a Starbucks lover but I go to this place often since it's only a few blocks away from my house. I am starting to like this place more and more now. It has awesome and sometimes interesting music playing. The atmosphere is fun. There is always interesting books laying around which i like to read.

Justin Gumiran

Generally a fine amount of seating. Has a few long tables for larger groups and has a printer. The food is fine. The staff is fine. It does what a coffee shop needs to do.

Michael Evert

I've been going here out of necessity for the last year and, am fortunate to say, will not be going there much longer. not sure if this is part of their schtick, but the servers range from indifferent to downright rude. some don't even look at you. if you're charging $3 for a couple of coffee, if better be done with a smile.

Patrick Nogal

Great wicker park spot. Interesting crowd at times. Great coffee and breakfast muffins. Good place to study

Mia

This spot is a staple. It's the go to coffee shop. You're in Logan and need a little pick me up? You hit up New Wave.

Cat Ramos

One of the most important aspects to any coffee shop I go to (and I've been to many) is how "At Home" I feel. Everytime I go to New Wave I feel at home. The Chai is perfect, the space is very unique in style. Great location, just about 5 minutes walk from the blue line!

G. Brett Williams

I got through ad school and wrote a graphic novel in this place. Five stars.

Scott Hajduk

Nothing too special about the coffee per se, by my limited palate anyhow. Nauseatingly trendy crowd

Rachel

It's good, just not great. Food is good but overpriced for what you get. Drinks are fine but again, just average. Service is fine but I've been there quite a few times and no one is friendly. They're not rude, they just don't seem to care. That being said, lots of seating with wifi. It's a reliable spot for a meeting or to have a decent drink while getting some work done.

Adam Dorfman

Yes, I have issues with this place. I once made a snarky Twitter comment about some album that was being played a few days after they opened and was promptly blocked by the account owner. It feels dirty in there. The coffee is decent if not exceptional. The crowd, especially during the first few years was hipsterish in the bad sense - snobby, dismissive and borderline rude. That said, I'm very happy this place exists. It was my home office for a year and was the first place in LS that I could work at all day. I'm glad there are other options to work out of now, but I still go back there regularly to support the place that started it all.

M. Alan Thomas II

Large, lots of good seating, good (if expensive) tea and (presumably) coffee, bathroom out of a back-alley nightclub. You're really paying for seating in an atmospheric cafe in a convenient location next to the park.

Eli Bensusan

Nice coffee, okay tea, cozy couches or working tables, you get to choose. Wide and spacious.

Amanda Davis

Relaxed vibe with tons of seating and floor space. Coffee is decent but not great. Food is above average for the price.

Carrie Katz

Love the art. Love the coffee! Great service

Ryan Conley

Came here a while back. The bathroom smelled like terribly nasty of piss. It smelled as if I went to a gross night club. Things generally seemed dirty to me. I did get a coffee and pastry. They were average. Never went back.

Juan Andrade

This is a very great chill place and i encourage everyone to go! It has a nice setting and it's pretty cheap!

David Czuprynski

The biscuits were good

kennedy shenberg

Nice bathroom

Nicholas Mendez

New Wave is a great coffeehouse with tea, sandwiches, and amazing customer service. The staff are always super friendly and genuine. If you want a place where you feel like your at a friend's place just lounging, here it is.

Charlotte Buchanan

Omg, the worst latte I've ever had. I'm not even sure how they made it taste so awful. There was a huge line, which I also don't understand. They let me use my own cup which earned them 2 stars.

Dominique Carney

The cafe is really nice and I enjoy the employees that are really nice. I love the taste of the coffee. I feel the service is really good because the people are really nice and care about their customers needs in terms of a rich quality taste.

Kenzie

One of my favorite coffee places we visited while in Chicago! I had a really good bagel and a pretty good latte! Would recommend to locals and non locals

Claire Savage

Sandwiches are really good and fresh! Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, tables, couches etc. Free Wifi. Music can be a bit loud, so group convos are hard but it's a good vibe for studying/working.

Eric Cruz

Not bad

Meg Wolf

They're always super friendly, and I'm always happy to support queer businesses. Sadly, their service tends to be slow.

Adriana Garcia

Looks small on the outside but big on the inside. You immediately feel a welcoming presence when entering. Amazing place!

Benjamin Walker

This place is fun for people watching. They're semi-serious about their coffee, though they're more about creating a mind-bendingly hipster vibe rather than crafting quality brew. Tons of seating; you'll often see legions of people working there. I'd say people talking to one another are doubled by people silently and intensely working on laptops. Baristas are friendly as heck--haven't met a stuffy one yet.
