Great place. The staff is friendly, the food is creative and well prepared, the atmosphere is good. Recommended by a friend as we were visiting town and needed good variety of food (including accommodating a vegan and a keto eater). Everyone enjoyed their meal.
This place is Great first time going definitely will return, had the fish tacos also a side of guacamole & chips. The staff was wonderful
Excellent healthy fresh food, with a plethora of vegan and gluten-free options. Tons of fresh fruits and vegetables plus faux-meats served hot, with tasty favouring. Great mix of ingredients and add-on options. Friendly and prompt service. Water, cutlery, etc are self-serve. Central location, easy to find. Both inside and outside seating. Ideal place for brunch and lunch. Music gently in the background, gives a nice mood in the place while still allowing conversations to bee easily heard. In short, I'll return soon!
The food taste great but a little expensive. A small bowl of soup was $5 bucks. I would expect a bigger bowl for that price. Great taste though.
This is a nice little place that caters to many food restrictions. I ordered some cauliflower tacos. It comes with a small side salad. I also ordered a side of sweet potato fries. While the cauliflower tacos were pretty delicious, it's a bit disappointing that you only get 2 of them in the order. But what really drops the rating is that the sweet potato were cold. I don't like cold fries ever. Cold potatoes are legit one of the worst things possible. I mean do you like cold fries? I don't like cold fries. I don't think anyone likes cold fries. Anyway, to summarize: good tacos but not enough and cold fries.
I was excited to see so many vegan options in the menu. But I was served a vegan mega bowl but was served beef.
Nice healthy lunch spot with good coffee, kombucha, etc.
It was a joy to visit LYFE Kitchen, as the ambiance is calming, clean and invigorating. The gluten-free vegan pizzas are amazing! Simply delicious!
Good choices. Vegan chicken had spicey sauce on it that was not bar b q. A little warning next time would’ve been nice for it was super spicey. Fish taco could’ve been amazing but they were chewy so clearly microwaved. A little disappointed but would be willing to try it again. Zucchini and tomato soup was my fav and the pomegranate lemonade was perfect.
Excellent. With no so many dishes, the menu is exquisite. It's easy to ask for a plate and you don't have to wait too much, just the opposite. The place is quiet. People, respectful and silent. I don't know why, so I went several times and always wanting to come back.
Very good, highly recommend.
Great vegan options and close to hotels if traveling to Chicago. I find it best to come early or on weekends because food does taste fresher then
For being “vegan friendly,” the manager refused to switch out meat with tofu, effectively limiting the vegan options to a handful of items. I obviously get if something is pre-prepared a vegan request can’t be accommodated, but Lyfe Kitchen in Gold Coast is happy to fulfill this request, and this location has done it for me several times before. There are plenty of other establishments I can take my every-day business to, and it will no longer be here.
Food was ok. A lot of "health" menu options if that's what you're looking for. Service was very good.
Great meal selections
Relaxing atmosphere with friendly staff. The breakfast menu has quite the variety and options with most meals
I LOVE this place!! Gluten free everything and healthy and the juices!?! So yummy! 10/10
Good food for a chain. Juices were good. We were there people and all had good meals. Clean and no problems getting a table when we visited.
Yummy food and awesome staff
Absolutely delicious! Great vegan and gf choices.
Interesting and well done food, attractive decor, but somewhat aggressive pricing for a quick service restaurant, although in line for a full service restaurant.
First time here. Liked what I got. Will come back for more.
Nice comfortable restaurant. Food is healthy and tasty.
I’ve come here several times in the last few years for vegan food. I love their vegan chocolate chip cookies. They used to have a partnership with Gardein vegan meats but it doesn’t look so anymore. I ordered the vegan cauliflower buffalo wing tacos. They were SO liquidy. The sauce was not thick enough. It was like soup on a corn tortilla. Plus, the cauliflower wings weren’t breaded, so it’s just boiled cauliflower with watery sauce on them. For like $13. They come with a side salad..... so personally, I don’t love that. It’s just spring mix with balsamic. I also ordered the sweet potato fries, they were okay, but they didn’t look like the photo they had in the restaurant.
Pretty good. The staff we encountered were a little "checked out"
Good healthy option for a casual meal. You can get it delivered on Uber Eats.
Great food, great atmosphere, liked so much we went twice in one day, lunch and dinner, while in town for the Chicago Marathon. Highly recommend.
This is my favorite Lyfe Kitchen location! You can stay for 5 minutes or 50 minutes, and no one bothers you. They have comfy booths, standard tables, and great options GF options, options for vegetarians, vegans, and meat-eaters.
Sweet menu, great options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. The neighborhood is full of activity and energy. Near the red line and the river. Friendly staff, but service can be kinda slow.
Great food, vegan options, very clean and friendly staff. The gin bar
Veggie experience was limited but the food was very good! They had Some great vegan chocolate cookies, we will return...gave them three stars because we asked for no onions on our sandwich and they loaded it with onions!! other than that everything was good
The staff was great. The food was great. A variety of food styles to choose from: small plates, wraps, salads, sandwiches and entrees. Healthy and fast. Great place for a relaxing quick bite.
Healthy food that actually tastes good and is made fresh. You really can't go wrong with whatever you choose.
Visited twice over a 2 months. On both visits the service was friendly, the entre specials were healthy, tasty & the right portion.
Great place for an assortment of healthy, delicious food. They offer lots of glutten free (GF) options. Both my parents are GF and they both loved their food: Buffalo Cauliflower Tacos, Sweet Corn Chowder, and Margarita Flatbread pizza. The restaurant was clean and inviting. The staff were exceptional and friendly.
Delicious and healthy food!
I had the buffalo cauliflower tacos YUM ... They were so flavorful. I was between the quinoa crunch bowl and the tacos and with the recommendation of the girl taking my order I went with the tacos and wow, so delicious. It was very busy at 12:30-12;45pm on a Monday, my wait was like 10 minutes. but it was worth it. I definitely recommend getting the third taco. I was very surprised I wasn't hungry before dinner time. Next time, I'll see if I can order ahead so it's ready to pickup and go.
A convenient, healthy and tasty standby if you're in River North.
This is the worst place I ate in Chicago as a vegan. Our meal was 50 bucks and all my boyfriend got was 3 tiny chicken strips, and I got one tiny Beyond party on a tiny pita pocket. These people are what's wrong with health food restaurants.
This is a popular place so I suggest not arriving at high noon if you're in a hurry. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with how they handled the long line. My sandwich which was a special (turkey with avocado and a simple side salad) was fresh and delicious!
Nice place for a quick bite. Water station was cool.
More like “TAKE MY LYFE kitchen” am I right?
Loved this place! We eat here three times it was just what we were looking for. I wish we had a location in the twin cities.
Amazing pure ingredients with organic when they can. There are some great vegetarian options and all the flavors are paired very well. My kids love coming here and you can always feel good about your choices!
Delicious meals, great nutrition, great staff, I enjoy the ambiance. I'm not usually one for chain restaurants but this one just gets everything right
Love LYFE Kitchen and their food, but just had a bad experience that may keep me from going back there again. I went in today looking to get a take-home menu. Saw that they have paper menus by the cashier and entrance but decided to go up to the cashier and ask if they had a different menu meant for take-home purposes. When I asked the friendly girl at the cash register, she told me I could take one of the regular, paper menus so I said thank you and began to walk out. As I was walking out, I was stopped by a woman who was on the phone at the time (who stopped her conversation) to tell me I couldn't take the menu. I then referenced the conversation I had just had with the girl at the register and she still told me I could not take it and that their menu was available online. Is a paper menu that is worth MAYBE $0.50 cents, at most, worth losing a customer who would spend $20-30 a month? I don't think that was a warranted situation to stop and question a customer on and am very disappointed in the customer service of the woman who stopped me by the door. My company orders food from restaurants around the area for meetings and I was hoping to share LYFE kitchen's menu with my team for future catering/food options. Definitely wont be doing that now that I know menus are their prized possessions, not the customers.
Disappointed. Restaurant is very clean, service is good, but... Had a bacon cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. Burger was, at best, edible. Fries seemed to be reconstituted. Other people at the table had better food.
Vegan cookies? Yes please. Good selection of foods that won't leave you low energy and bloated after consuming. Seating was plentiful, clean and service was timely.
Lyfe Kitchen serves healthy, great tasting food that doesn't break your lunch budget. The menu strikes a nice balance of calories, fat, and sodium, with good portions. There are seasonal soups and salads, and delicious juices. The staff is really friendly to boot.
Good value for money, amazing vegan breakfast options
Great healthy food in the heart of downtown Chicago. Lots of stuff to choose from and reasonably priced.
Just okay. $10 for a bottle of water is what you'd pay in a stadium at a professional sports event. Very pricey spot for greens.
Excellent vegiterian/vegan resturant in Chicago. Enjoyed the drinks and the food. Have searing outside. Good food and good atmosphere. Recommended
Outstanding food selection .leaders in while food ,clean eating
Great vegan and gluten free food, nice staff.
Love this place, great healthy fast food.
This place has a good combination of meat-lover AND vegan options! The lavendar-lemonade was incredibly refreshing. The chipotle sauce on the potatoes gave the potatoes a nice twist. There's an outdoor patio, which is great for a warm sunny summer day.
The poke was the bomb. Cauliflower tacos didn't really work and the chunks were too big. Nice ambience, great service.
What a great Gluten Free meal ! Large eat in area and dining tables outside as well. We are only in town for a few days and I think we are going back again tomorrow.
Food was amazing
Wonderful gluten free options. This was the first place we stopped after landing in Chicago. Did not disappoint! No matter what you do...get the chia pudding!!
Great atmosphere! Food was amazing! Definirte try the chia seed coconut pudding!
Great spot! Plenty of vegan options.
Perfect if you have a gluten allergy! So many yummy options and great service!
Good food. I like the fact they have vegan options and focus more on healthy side of food. We had red curry bowl with veggies, roasted cauliflower and chickpeas, and chips and guacamole. They are all tasty. Especially the curry bowl really hit the spot in this windy, cold, rainy day! The interior is clean and spacious. This can be a good place for party or big groups! There are few downsides of this place. First, it took a long time to get our food even when it was not the peak. The second one is what blew me off which is they don't wear gloves when they work in the kitchen cooking for your food. On top of that, they use their hands to grab topping and salsa to put on your food!!! THEY USE THEIR HANDS! What?! Which era we are living in? What's the health regulations here? I can't believe my eyes when I saw that. Anyway, the safe way to go is order those food that doesn't need topping or salsas on the top. Hint: Curry bowl is the way to go.
Food was excellent. I love the fast, casual farm to table concept.
Worked here one full day, 9 hours - no break. They never paid me. Sweet potato fries were burnt.
Delicious healthy food made to order. Great for breakfast and lunch
Great vegan/vegetarian options. Good food, decent prices. Good location. Parking is nearby in the garage next door.
Had the days turkey sandwich and it was excelllent with horseradish aoli. Wife had quinoa crunch bowl also tasty.
Super fabulous. A beautiful herb garden right in the restaurant. Great service...and fast!
I ordered soup, was good but cauliflower Flafel was not
Fast, friendly, brightly lit eating space. Love the soba noodle dish here!
Surprisingly good
Excellent tasty but limited vegan options
Let me start off by saying the bottled lavender lemonade is so amazing ! I had to go back and buy more ! I got the beyond burger and that was so tasty ! Many vegetarian options, they have smoothies and delicious teas ! Highly recommend this place for breakfast & lunch ! The lobby was very clean and all the staff was friendly ! Check this place out ! You won’t be disappointed !
Really good and healthy with a cool atmosphere
A decent place for a quick (healthy) lunch. The menu is modern and unique, though the quality is surprisingly on par with other places. The sleek look of the location is the main plus.
The tofu wrap is delicious. Especially if you add guacomole. Great causal eat in atmosphere
I don't even know where to start. My friends and I all loved it and it's tricky to find a restaurant that we're all more than pleased with. We all ordered lyfe waters and they were delicious! I would highly recommend. I got the veggie burger and oh my god. It was delicious. LOVE.
Good favours, but servers forgot my drinks and had to be chased down.
This past Summer I stopped here for breakfast before getting on a long flight. I was really hungry so I ordered the flatbread. Halfway through eating it, I noticed that there was a short piece of straight black hair on the egg. It looked like facial hair or a man’s short hair. The manager working there was kind enough to refund me, so an extra star for that. However, they did not seem too concerned with changing anything they did to cause the hair to appear in the food. As I glanced back in the kitchen, I saw at least two men working there with beards and not wearing caps or hair coverings. I pointed this out to the manager and he just walked to the back again. Business as usual I guess. Pretty gross.
Perfect breakfast spot. I had the breakfast burrito with Avocado and it was a perfect flavor combination and was made with some really tasty, healthy, fresh ingredients. Keith, the gentlemen in the kitchen, could not have been nicer. Made the experience that much more.
The food was amazing! I would highly recommend Lyfe for breakfast/brunch/lunch.
Great food, friendly staff.
Atmosphere: Light, natural cafe, casual Service: Counter ordering, friendly Food: We tried the guacamole and chips (good guac bland, stale chips), chocolate chip cookie (yumm!) and the hibiscus tea. Very pleasant experience. Pricing: Approx $13 for items listed
Great food friendly service. I love this plac e
Not a very friendly staff
Good gluten free food, but menu options don't change very often. Rubbish beverage options and desert options. Don't expect anything ground breaking but better than McDonald's for convenience food
This is unexpected great place with great food! Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten free, meat dishes! I had a fish tacos and cauliflower tacos, taste delicious! Quite atmosphere, good vibes. We paid $40 for three dishes and water bottles! This is fantastic! I Highly RECOMMEND!!!
Such quick and delicious, healthy food. Was so impressed with the food, atmosphere and service. Left very full and satisfied.
I travel for work weekly and it’s hard sometimes being vegan when out if town. I found Lyfe Kitchen right down the street from my hotel and it is perfect. The tacos are my favorite. I have been here 3 times in 3 trips.
Good service, very spicy for me food.
Healthy choices. good value
Food is very fresh
Tasty and healthy but I find the portions too small!
My local go to when I want to eat healthy!
Vegan options! Pictured are the buffalo cauliflower tacos.
Food was great and reasonably priced. I had the impossible burger and it was really fun and to the point, with all flavors just right. Great for a healthy option.
Very good. Best iced green tea
Very nice place.
Jhariea and her colleague with the nose ring were pretty useless. Sat at the bar next to the register not sure who would take our order. Customers lined up whilst they spent their time choosing music. Food was fine, glad we only paid happy hour prices. Happy hour beers are small.
Excellent service, the food was very fresh and delicious.
Fast service, awesome selection of sustainable, delicious and healthy goodness.
Tasty food at a decent price, it's hard to go too wrong here. Although they do fall into that trap of trying to be too fancy above themselves. Sometimes a burger is just a burger and a chicken strip is just that. It doesn't matter how many cherry tomatoes you throw around the plate. Saying that it's a cheap place for decent food.
Best LYFE kitchen I've been to. I travel a lot and love to find warm and welcoming space to enjoy a healthy lunch and has great Wifi access. However, this LYFE location went above an beyond my expectations. An employee, Keith, delivered my salad with a big smile, asked if i needed anything else and when i got up to get water, he stopped me and delivered it to me promptly. I went to the restroom and when I returned Keith has stayed back to watch my computer and phone without me asking him. It's so refreshing to find committed and passionate people like Keith (and the other staff) who make working remotely very enjoyable. As for my food, the romaine was incredibly fresh and crisp, the salmon was cooked to perfection and the dressing was perfectly distrbuted on each bite. Absolutely delightful lunch.
Good healthy choices
Fun menu, service was a bit slow, great beverage options and menu diversity. The neighborhood is active and bustling. A cool place to meet new people and rendezvous with your crew.
Nice and clean place
Good place to enjoy with your vegan wife! (:
So pleasantly surprised by this cafeteria style health food joint in downtown Chicago. Superb juice/tea combos, high quality foods, great vegetarian options. Nice ambiance for a casual joint. Good for breakfast as well.
Great spot for lunch! I had the barbeque chicken flat bread and it was delicious. Lots of good healthy options.
Sort of what you would expect for a "health food" joint. Small portions, high prices, and okay food. I had the 'Protein Power Start' breakfast and left pretty hungry afterwards whilst my girlfriend had both the Acai power bowl' and the 'breakfast potatoes with chipotle aoli'. She really liked the latter but found the bowl to taste overwhelmingly of coconut, both were small portions and neither was very cheap.
Delicious, clean eats with an upscale feel. Will be back! Turkey burger with gluten free bun was amazing! Flavorful and moist. Best GF bun I have ever had.
They have a little bit of everything for those who have specific diets or want to eat well. Service was nice and fast and there was only a small line. Cool place where you can sit for a while after walking around all day.
Had baked sweet potato fries that tasted as good as fried.
Quick service. I was excited to find that they had vegan options since this was a random place my group chose after getting in town. I got the sweet potato fries and blueberry smoothie.
Really great engaging staff. Superb food and service. Easy quick and delicious..
We wanted to find a good vegan option near Michigan Ave, this place was perfect. The food options were plentiful- and solid tasting, very yummy. Service was great too!
Great quick & healthy dine-in option! For vegetarians, I love the Thai Tofu Bowl- not messy and just the right amount of flavor/kick. The sweet potato fries are the best (and good for sharing). The mushroom tacos are pretty good and have a kick, but are super messy!
Great gluten free menu. The $5 flat bread, is one of the best happy hour deals in River North. Margarita is my favorite.
Vegetarian and vegan options. Good brewed tea.
I’ve never been fully satisfied after coming here. The food is okay, a bit pricey. The selection is nice and the service is sometimes quick.
Love this place!! We make sure to go everytime we are in Chicago. The food is amazing!! They have many options for people with food allergies and the staff is super accommodating.
Great atmosphere, amazing staff, and even more amazing vegan food!!! Came her 3 times in one weekend!!!
Great gluten free options, the food is fantastic. They have beyond burgers, and the sweet potato fries are awesome. Totally recommend this place.
Good food, friendly staff. Interesting healthy menu items.
Fantastic gluten free selections. Probably the best GF sandwich I've ever had.
The service was incredible! There is a manger his name is Jose he immediately help me when I did not like the food. Best service ever!
Great place to grab a healthy meal
Healthy food options. Clean and quite a big place to sit and eat.
Fantastic food. Healthy eats.
Employees were more than apathetic and food was not great either. I got the buffalo cauliflower tacos and they were just mush. None of my other friends like theirs so I wish I wouldn’t have wasted my money. Great marketing though.
The salad was drenched with dressing, and chicken extremely dry. The lemon ginger elixir is misleading and tastes more like just hot water with sugar. After complaining that the drink was not what I was expecting (sugar or sweetener was not mentioned at any point) no member of staff was able to tell me what type of sweetener was used in the drink, nor knew much about the ingredients. After reluctantly settling for a mint tea instead, (I wanted to initially just forget about getting a drink all together) I was brought citrus and chamomile tea (both ingredients I am allergic to, and had the pleasure of a reaction after 1 sip in when I realized I was given the wrong thing). Gave up at that point. Do not recommend to anyone trying to stick to any sprig health regiment, or dealing with food allergies. Just can’t be sure what you are actually getting.
Lovely place to grab lunch and hang out in their outdoor áreas also have great seasonal drinks!
Vegan, gluten free and other food preferences that taste great. Love this place
I love the food, pretty much you can't go wrong here whatever you pick, but I also love how good staff is, that there are metal utensils, that there is sparkling water in real glasses.
Like probably most restaurants in downtown Chicago, the food lacked a bit a feeling of freshness. I did enjoy it though. The potatoes that came with my breakfast were drizzled with a spicy salad dressing that was nice and the pancakes, while a bit tough, had a unique flour taste to them that went well with their maple syrup. Counter service and a good modern reasonably quiet atomosphere. A little pricey though that I guess is also common for the area.
Went there for dinner since it was within walking distance of our hotel. We were not disappointed. The food and drink were very good and my wife who is gluten sensitive did not get sick afterward like most places we visit. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable with allergens. We'll be going there for brunch this morning!!
Great combinations and flavors in the sauces, the buffalo chicken strips are particularly good. The service is way above and beyond, too. My wife's meal had a small issue and the manager bent over backwards for us.
Ate here for breakfast and had the tofu scramble vegan wrap- absolutely delicious and healthy! The atmosphere was great and they had a very friendly staff!
Friendly employers, good coffee and food.
Omg! Absolutely fell in love with this place the moment I walked in! It is not a dedicated gluten free facility but they are knowledgeable of Celiac's Disease and completely understanding. Would love to see this company branch out, especially into Michigan. Will definitely return here to dine on my next trip to Chicago!
I have been to LYFE kitchen several times for lunch and loved it however this was my first breakfast experience here. I ordered the avocado toast and classic breakfast. I was shocked when the food was brought to the table. I almost thought it was a joke. The “avocado toast “ was nothing more than one lightly toasted wonder bread size slice of bread with a bit of diced avocado and feta cheese. It looked sad, so so sad. I thought maybe they were going to bring me another one, I mean I did pay $9 for this. Insane. My son got the classic breakfast and didn’t even finish it. We came here because the line at yolk was too long. I should’ve waited. My total for a slice of bread with a bit of avocado, and a sad classic breakfast, milk and coffee came to $25.03. Never again for breakfast. Never!!! Go to Wildberry , yolk or Eggy’s for breakfast.
Super-healthy vibe. Still, really tasty and not snobby-veggie. Good selections and quick service
Menu is clearly marked with allergens. They serve gluten free food as well and it's delicious. Staff is really nice.
great hospitality. prices were average for the menu.
Great healthy spot
They have Vegan food, tastes good. yum
Great service, alright food. Good option if you're looking for a lighter fast casual spot.
Fresh, healthy meals in a airy atmosphere. Enjoyed the buffalo chicken salad, although I wish it was spicy.
This is my go to lunch spot when I’m in Chicago. It’s a healthy fast casual place with lots of options. Last time I was here I got a salad and added salmon, which was a pretty small portion. Other than that, it’s great
A convenient block down from the office, I can submit an online order, walk out the door right after and pick up my food all within 10 mins. The food itself is always top notch, healthy, and delicious. Staff is fantastic as well . I love the rotating specials as well as the usual offerings.
Very good food. Kind of pricey.
Bad parking but great food
Really good food and vegetarian options. I really liked the place.
Absolutely a fan of this place! The service was so kind and courteous. The food was amazing- ordered the ahi tuna bowl which not only looked beautiful but tasted wonderful! So fresh and filling. The restaurant was very clean and spacious.
Healthy options for anytime of the day. If you are looking for something gluten free or dairy free, look no further.
