This Coffee Shop is included in the category of New American restaurant.
Service was outstanding as well. Our coffee cups were rarely empty, while special requests were willingly fulfilled.I've tried SO many Mexican restaurants in IL. This is the best I've had. I highly recommend this restaurant. Their rice is fluffy, beans have amazing taste and they're NOT dry. I
Nice decor, clean and simple yet trendy with open kitchen. Chefs and staff are all very warm and welcoming. Food was fantastic and beautifully plated. Perfect “brunch” ambient, hands down top brunch spot in Chicago.
The small marble top tables with mixed matched furniture and winding gallery of dinning rooms make for a creative, jerrybuilt restaurant that delivers an explosion of flavor with each bite. The interpretation of local cuisine and farm-to-table feel is bar none for Logan Square.
Margs and amazing tacos!
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food. I had the trout scrambled eggs and they were wonderful.
We lived in the neighborhood 10 years ago, and it so great to return to the neighborhood to find Lula Cafe just as great as we remembered. The flavor profiles are so unique and comforting, it’s always a treat to come here.
Been here more than 5 times in the last 2 years. Love the ambience and the food. They have a good number of vegetarian options on their menu, and they are all unique and delicious. Their staff is always courteous and helpful. Must visit if you are in the Logan square area. Please make reservations if you can as they are popular and super busy during brunch and dinner hours.
Well, the food was amazing and they had great customer service; on a negative side I left the car parked infront of the restaurant in paid public parking and after the dinner we went for a walk and came back at 1am and the car was burglarized as someone stole my gym bag (idiot). Not the restaurant's fault at any shape or form but something to be aware of.
I usually go to brunch here on weekends but big thumbs up for farm dinner special last Monday. Also kashmiri amaro is fantastic after dinner drink
Lovely menu that rotates frequently. The food was all amazing, staff friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere both pleasant and fun. Can get a bit busy, but close to plenty of parking and public transportation. Can get a little expensive, but the dishes are well proportioned and worth coming back to try whatever new they come out with next. Definitely recommend getting a reservation.
It’s a quaint place and nice atmosphere. Ingredients are fresh and from the owners garden. Halibut was a miss and spaghetti was underwhelming. The feta dip was amazing as well as the strawberry beet panzenella!
Lula was recommended to us and I'm so glad! Everything on the menu sounded amazing! We had the soup of the day and sandwiches...delicious!! Will definitely go back!
Cafe food, mmm, so good. One of the best spots of its kind in the area. Had a friend come into town and she asked me to take her here again. This place has a cool design. Similar to a cafe in Las Vegas I liked.
Awesome food, impeccable service. Beto was great!
Lula is a Logan Square institution and is consistently amazing. Food, service, ambience, and price are top notch. Can’t go wrong with any meal at any time of day.
I didn't actually eat here, the food seems to rely heavily on the veggie side. People working there were very nice. Not my type of place food wise. I wish I would have tried the almond crescent though.
A lot of people are waiting. The desert is very fresh and healthy. Two thumbs up
Farm fresh...the beets and dill...yum
Fantastic food. Great waiting staff
Always great. Happy First Twenty Years!
Omg. The breakfast burrito was AMAZING! SOo flavorful and filling. The service was also impeccable.
So good and so much food that I always have leftovers
Amazing. We got the roasted chicken and squid last time and both are magnificent. Been there for brunch too and it is a great spot. Honestly theres no bad options here. Its all delicious. Great service too, will be back.
This is a farm to table type restaurant/cafe. I was impressed by the how the food tasted, the friendliness of the staff and just the general vibe that you get from the restaurant. The is generally a 30-45min wait for any table. They do not take reservations during brunch.
Tasty food and dessert, nice ambience, good service. However, the portion is quite small.
Superb location, food and especially service.
Great for brunch. Lox bagel
Frankly, this place feels like a Logan Square institution. Incredibly good coffee and an excellent Cafe menu to back it up. I had a vegetable tofu scramble which was reminiscent of some of the best chinese home cooking I've had. My friend ordered light and had the granola which despite its simplicity, looked incredible. This place is a must visit for lunch or brunch.
fresh and always tasty food . will be back
Went for dinner bc we’ve heard so much about it. It was good but small portions for the relatively high price. In my opinion it’s not worth the usual wait or trouble to get in/a reservation but was still worth a try, it just won’t be a regular spot for us.
We had breakfast here and it was excellent. The summer omelette and the granola bowl were really well done. Omelette was perfectly cooked, not heavy and the side salad was the perfect accompaniment. Place was very busy and a tad loud but overall a nice atmosphere. Great for families, couples and hipsters.
Amazing food. Great service. A Chicago institution.
Right off the CTA so great location! Andrew was amazing! We got the LOX, the Royale, beets w/dill and orange wine! It was all delicious. Would recommend 10/10!
Vegan options everywhere! The food was delicious and so was the coffee.
Excellent food. Great neighbourhood ambience. Friendly helpful service. Was great to spend time there.
aMAZing Yahya noodle dish; SUPER pleasant bartender and expertly made interesting, unexpected cocktails. Great highlights: - Persimmon aperitif - Dewasansan Namagenshu Green Ridge sake! - Yahya pasta - Fish dish (was it trout?) The sake, pasta and fish together were an extraordinary flavor combination
Wonderful date night and birthday dinner here. The staff were very friendly and making sure we knew what would be best suited for us. The vegiterian tasting menu was fabulous and definitely worth the price. It's hard to find something like this especially at a great price!
Arrived without a reservation, and although we couldn't sit on the patio (it was lovely weather and that was full) we were seated inside without a wait. The Service was good, attentive and quick. The Menu looked good, and after a fair bit of deliberating, my gf and I did our usual, order 2 things we both fancied, and shared them. We had the French Brioche toast with Berries (Very Delicious) and the Breakfast Burrito (Great, not soggy, very filling).
One of my favorites. Crispy rice is amazing. Always is. If you get the poached pink shrimp make sure to drink the broth. Squash ice cream dessert and the grapefruit dessert are both worth writing the review for.
Lula was amazing. Great food and even better company. Also they made me a virgin Bloody Mary. Thank you Lula you rule!
Nice little sidewalk cafe in Logan Square. Beautiful surroundings, delicious food, and friendly waitstaff. We both choose the whole roasted sea bream and it was perfect. Nice craft beer and wine selection too. Dessert choices were difficult but we decided on the cheese plate to share. Wow it was good. I'll be back...
I went on a day that it rained. The staff was awesome about getting us into the dry tables inside
Lula Cafe is always rated as one of the best brunch places in Chicago and it should be. Watch out for the queue as it starts early and you'll need to wait anytime from 0930 onwards. However, the wait is worth it. The food is varied and the breakfast cocktails are inventive and unusual
This is my favorite Chicago restaurant. The food is locally sourced and inventive. Wine list is unique and they alway have good beers available. The ambience is also unique and creative. I love sitting at the large marble bar.
Amazing brunch spot in Logan Square
Great brunch spot but get in early as it fills up quick. I sat at the bar and got great customer service. Food was delicious as was the coffee. The wait staff were great and I would totally go back for other menu items that I didn’t get a chance to eat. Worth a try if you’re in the area. (Only thought was that the vegan Brussel sprouts were a little too over seasoned with Salt)
Delicious food in a hip but relaxed setting. Great weekday brunch option. Highly recommended!
Any way you slice it this place is under rated. Every one of the four dishes we ordered were spectacular combinations of flavors and textures. The presentation is lovely, and the views outside give a great ambiance. The carrot cake was something of legend, and deservedly so. We finished our meal and didn't want to leave.
Always crowded during brunch for a reason. Make sure you come before 11, even on weekdays. This place has one of the best tasting chai lattes and fluffiest pancakes. Their enchiladas are very well cooked as they had a decent crunch and perfect amount of cheese.
Vegetarian was totally great! Thank you!
Pretty good brunch! We sat outside and it was pretty enjoyable. Our server was nice and checked in.
If I could give 6 stars, I would have done it. It's one of the most marvellous restaurants I have experienced. Some dishes are more sophisticated than some 3 Michelin star restaurants (Definitely much better than Jean-Georges ). The grape mousse was heavenly and the cinnamon pasta was just beyond amazing!
This place is cool. Really modern menu and staff that has flair and style. We enjoyed the brunch menu and eat in the patio. It can be a long wait, we waited an hour and barely left on time for our next adventure. Eat outside and enjoy the scene. It’s cool.
Never a bad meal here! Reasonably priced cafe menu all day and crazy dinner menus full of farm fresh ingredients. Crazy tasty soups/pastas/sandwiches for lunch and complex cocktails
Lula is a great local spot. Great, creative menu. Popular with young people. Excellent service. Several of their dishes are Indonesian inspired. A nice combination of comfort food and healthy choices.
Dining at Luca Cafe was a marvelous experience! Pasta cooked to order was probably the best I've ever eaten. Good wine selection. Great service. The Neapolitan ice cream cake was worth a trip to Chicago!
Long ago I lived just down Kedzie and this was a regular brunch spot. Years later my wife and I make it a point to stop in for a meal no matter where in town we're staying. The food is delicious and service is excellent. I am happy to see the place has expanded and still gathering shoulder to shoulder crowds to Logan Sq. Excellent, healthy breakfast and lunch options. Artful entrees. Great for travelers, guests, families, hippies and hipsters alike. Usually good rotating art up on the walls too.
Fabulous french toast. The smoked trout scrambled was super too!
Yippy can have breakfast, lunch or brunch. Did not have a drink, but their selection sounded tempting. Next time.
Fantastic meal and top quality service. Still thinking about the bucatini... Definitely coming back
Great food good service
V hipster. Chicago is still deep in its hipster phase, and this place is the epicenter. But honestly I had a ball. The food is amazing, and I wish I could ever be as cool and zen as our waitress. The staff was wonderful. It’s a bit pricey, and I didn’t love the cocktail menu. But I definitely recommend if you’re in the neighborhood. You may want to call ahead, as it was crazy busy on a Monday night.
We love this place. Moved farther from it, but it's worth the trip. Innovative but compelling menu always with something for carnivore, herbivore and, uh, pescivore.
First visit after we’d read and seen great things on the Instagram page. Beautiful pastries in interesting flavours, and a great buzz about the place. We sat up at the pass and watched the perfectionist crew plate up brunch dish after brunch dish, with really exacting standards. 4 stars because the service was a little on the slow side, and I think some of the dishes are a little
Delish food but don't order vegetarian tasting menu. Second class service (especially if dining alone/over a certain age), expensive and you'll walk away hungry
After wasting two hours trying to get a seat at the handlebar for a vegan we went lula's cafe instead. We should have just started here.. The food was great I mean great. Well prepared great flavors- prefect 4 our vegan daughter and good 4 dad. Service was spot on with a chill hip vibe. But the food was the real star. save room for the blueberry lavender sorbet or the celery coconut Mandarin ice cream.
Lula Cafe is part of a growing trend of (mostly) vegetarian restaurants that are actually good. In the past, vegetarian food seemed to sacrifice flavor. Lula Cafe does not sacrifice on flavor and made use of some interesting ingredients in the occasion that I went. I ordered the charred onions, the sweetbreads with smoked shrimp and mushrooms, and the stinging nettle rice. The charred onions were artfully plated and garnished with pistachios. They also had a dressing of flavorful vinaigrette. The sweetbreads were very savory and straightforward. Finally, the stinging nettle rice was excellent. Verdant and bitter, the rice gave a wonderful kick of vegetable flavor with each bite. The topping of charred greens took the dish up a notch. In my opinion, you could do without the wine here. I did not happen to care for their selection. Overall Lula Cafe is fantastic if you'd like to eat vegetarian cuisine that does not compromise on flavor.
Amazing team service approach. Pretty impressive, considering how busy it appeared. Cocktail list was impressive. I wish that I had more time to try them all. I'm not an alcoholic, just a fan. lol
Cozy, wasn't in the mood for their food... but they had great coffee and croissants
I love the colorful space and the music they play here. The food is tasty, with some interesting twists. Downside: the waiters/waitresses are very nice but slow, at least in my experience. The cappuccinos are huge, even when you only ask for a single shot. You're basically drinking lots of milk with some coffee flavor. Since i go there mostly in the morning, and i need my coffee, this is hard to get over. Otherwise, try this place for a very pleasant experience.
Love the experimental dishes they make, I've only been twice but I want to keep going back to try something new every time, especially since they tweak the menu here and there.
Lula Cafe is a Logan Square institution (in the best of ways). It is what makes Chicago neighborhoods so special and sought after places to live. This beautifully appointed restaurant has been delivering high quality and unique farm-to-table fare since before it was all the rage. The wait staff are knowledgeable, hip and most of all good, happy and friendly folk.
Service was excellent. Nice menu. Traditional american with a twist
Really good breakfast. Wife and I really enjoyed it.
Seriously good eats. I will be inspired by this meal and the art in this space for some time. The service was also quite good, the kind and knowledgable server and staff were perfect.
Great food and service! Our server surprised my friend with a dessert as I mentioned upon paying for the bill that it was my friend’s birthday. Such an awesome gesture.
Would highly recommend the Rabbit ‘Risotto’. Every dish was delicious and well portioned. Cocktails had a lot of flavors but nothing overwhelming , can’t wait to go back! Other dishes consumed: charred spring onion, green garlic and almond soup, and lamb tortellini.
Found this place in the heart of Logan Square. Very comfy place with a good breakfast and lunch menu. Arrived here for a late breakfast and were very pleased with the food taste and quick service. We ordered the butter pancakes and farm eggs with toast and potatoes. Really loved the place.
Five customers, four different dishes, all happy diners with unique and delicious plates!
It's hard to go wrong when using top notch ingredients - but this place just nails it. Cocktails, treated the same, no short cuts or sacrificing of quality. It was shamefully my first time visiting his long standing Logan Square classic, however, it most definitely will not be my last.
Best brunch food around
delicious food and good service, i will definitely recommend to my friends
amazing breakfast burrito! the place was super packed so if you're short on time this might not be a good spot, but the service was great and so was the food.
Amazing food and relaxed atmosphere. One of my all time favorite restaurants
Not my favorite brunch place in Chicago. Foods were only okay, and service is so-so. I feel they lack of food selections, and for the price, they are very expensive. They are trying to be creative with some foods, but for some it just didn't work well. I will recommend Little Goat better.
Good food. Good service. Delicious dessert.
Amazing desserts and great staff
The quality and care taken with the food - the baked feta was delicious, the sformato was interesting and unusual, and the French toast was nicely balanced (not too sweet). We snagged seats at the bar because the wait for a table was 45min, but our server was attentive and wonderful regardless. We did not feel rushed or cramped despite our choice of seats.
Wanted to arrive at nine am for brunch. Didn't make it until 9:45. Hour wait for table inside, 1 minute for table outside. Kinda chilly in the shade outside. This is where it got fantastic. Server offered us blankets to begin the toastiness process then followed that up with a luxurious (not kidding) bowl of wild shitake
Incredible food, great staff, and a wonderful atmosphere. Come in for just a drink, grab a casual bite from their cafe menu, or enjoy an exquisite dish from their dinner menu. A fun place to meet a friend or celebrate. Casual yet up scale I look forward to coming back to Lulu's time and time again.
The best restaurant in Logan Square; possibly in the entire city. Long-time local husband-and-wife team own it, and much of the staff has been there for the long run. Can't say enough good about it. Excellent food and service while remaining casual and welcoming.
Brunch was fabulous. Crowded and busy but good
Such a fun brunch spot with delicious food and a cozy atmosphere. I would highly recommend and will be back next time to try the cocktails!
Very gourmet delicious and interesting food. Worth it for a treat, but really expensive and small portions for the price. The food feels like it's been created by a master chef though, with tasty combinations. I recommend a few sharing plates - and desserts are a must - they're amazing! I'd even recommend going there to have a dinner that consists only of desserts they're so good. Drinks are expensive but they do good cocktails.
Interesting new food experience. French italianish? Not sure. But good food and great service. Incredible wine!!
Creative chef geniuses! Blending of spices and textures take you to a new level from appetizers to desserts. One of the best restaurants for vegetarians and vegans. Do the regular or vegetarian tasting menu to get a sampling. Neighborhood feel and wonderful, caring staff. Always have exciting new dishes to try.
Incredible food and atmosphere, it’s one of the few things I like about Logan square
They have a great rotating menu in a fun space.
I've been to Lula cafe twice, and both times had great experiences. Service was attentive, but not over bearing. The baked French feta appetizer is delicious, highly recommend. Atmosphere is cozy, casual, and welcoming.
We arrived at Logan Square by train from O’Hare had breakfast here while waiting for check-in at Air BNB. Excellent service and great food.
Outstanding Loved the place.
One of my fav spots for tasty cafe food. certainly a top place in the area. prices were decent.
Great spot for brunch, lunch and dinner! Fantastic American cuisine with an emphasis on seasonal produce. Delicious!
Fantastic food and service
nice food over here
This place honestly needs no more reviews. Food is amazing, food is consistent, service is good, service is consistent. For that reason is a go to for me. There's a reason they've been around for so long.
Excellent restaurant with unique flavors! I would recommend the buckwheat crepe with duck confit and sunny eggs. I would also recommend the chickpea tagine. Both had amazing flavors and we're beautiful. The outside seating is lovely as well.
Never a bad meal here! Reasonably priced cafe menu all day and crazy dinner menus full of farm fresh ingredients. Crazy tasty soups/pastas/sandwiches for lunch and complex cocktails
Great food and amazing service!
The most delicious food!! We had the frittata (is served cold, would have preferred if it were warm), smoked fish dip, lentil quesadillas and kale side. SO GOOD!! can’t wait to visit again
Chickpea sweet potato tagine is one of my favorite meals in Chicago. Generous portions. Fresh ingredients. Awesome wine list and good service
This is a nice chic cafe with a variety of clean, interesting dishes. It's usually very crowded, so expect about 30 minute wait. The atmosphere is very young/hipster. The food is great and refreshing. Very much recommend!
Good vibe and great hospitality, with flavours that will keep you wanting more. The restaurant gives credit to her ranking. Notably, the beets bruschetta gave a twist worthy of remembernce.
First time in Lula Cafe was amazing! It's quite busy for brunch but that's expected. The food was fresh, farm to table style. Super healthy and clean. Sitting at the bar was good enough even with a group of 3. Coffee was delightful and service to match the excellent food.
Such a great place! It started to rain while we at the patio but the staff was on it right away and able to move everyone inside. Food was amazing. I had the Lake Trout scramble!
Lula 4 Lyfe! Lula Cafe is one of the best restaurants in Logan Square due to its amazing menu led by chef, Jason Hammel. He's truly a visionary when it comes to developing interesting seasonal menus (shout out to Farm Dinners) and ensuring that there is something to appeal with everyone. Overall the vibe is super hip and frequently overflowing with people waiting to get in and eat! The patio is always full of people and overall it's an amazing place no matter the time of the day. Definitely make sure to check out Lula Cafe next time you're in Logan Square for a refreshing yet satisfying meal - and definitely check out his other new project at Superkhana International
Overpriced, slow, they gave us the wrong day of specials and gave a half-hearted apology when the breakfast sandwich was completely different from our menu. Having to go to another spot to get a decent breakfast after paying $16 for a sandwich is ridiculous
Delicious food in a hip but relaxed setting. Great weekday brunch option. Highly recommended!
Looking for comfort breakfast food and excellent service? Than you found the perfect place! Castro tarts never disappoints. Love the food and service.
This is the place that began the process of Logan square becoming the next big thing. They have a regular day to day menu and a second Chef special seasonal menu It's almost like two restaurants in one. The value for the money is outstanding. I have not been here in a while but I should probably rectify that soon.
Small portions. High quality food, but they don't mark what is an appetizer vs an entre, and the pricing is not a reliable gauge. Room temperature cider. The baked feta is excellent, though no idea whether it will be available since the menu regularly rotates
It was beautiful-peaceful and relaxing. Staff was outstanding.
Great food with great service. Daily menu is thoughtful on food selections and will not dissapoint. Feel confident asking wine pairing questions to your server, they nailed it for me.
I ate at the chef’s counter for brunch and had a great experience! The staff was really friendly. Menu was interesting and approachable with a lot of seasonal options. I would definitely go back.
We couldn't get a reservation for brunch when a friend of ours was visiting. So we made reservations for dinner. We absolutely loved every single item that we ordered. Their vegetarian dishes were too good also. I would highly recommend checking this place out.
This was a delightful surprise. The menu offered a sophisticated selection of intriguing breakfast items. Our party of 4 found them not only visually appealing, but delicious. Service was outstanding as well. Our coffee cups were rarely empty, while special requests were willingly fulfilled. We truly look forward to be returning soon. Thanks!
I've tried SO many Mexican restaurants in IL. This is the best I've had. I highly recommend this restaurant. Their rice is fluffy, beans have amazing taste and they're NOT dry. I can go on and on. I'm Mexican and I can say this food is as good as my grandmas (in Mexican that is the biggest compliment I can give).
Quirky little place (for a 70 year old like me ) but fun and tasty. We were there for brunch and it was jam packed with Millenials who know a good thing when they find it. So, what's good? Reasonable prices, Curious menu with delicious ingredients, quick service, friendly staff. Our top vote went to the Royale sandwich, with egg, cheese and woodland mushrooms on toast.
Just yum! Great vegan and vegetarian options!
Waitress and all of the other staff were lovely and accommodating. Food was fantastic.
Food and cocktails were amazing paired with the phenomenal wait staff. My wife and I will most definitely be coming back!
Good food. The service was fast and I like how the staff checks on you, to see if anything is needed. The place is comfortable and the music isn't too loud like at some places.
The food is phenomenal and I love their free form bar experience. The peanut noodles and turkey sandwich are terrific. Cocktails are always great. One of my favorite lunch places in the city.
Cool and delicious! I've been there for breakfast, lunch, dinner over the past 10 years, and it's consistently excellent. The indoor and outdoor are each inviting and vibrant. The food options varied and delicious, and the "specials" menu has provided some of the best meals I've ever had. It's busy, yet the staff turns it over quickly without making you feel rushed
I've been to Lula cafe twice, and both times had great experiences. Service was attentive, but not over bearing. The baked French feta appetizer is delicious, highly recommend. Atmosphere is cozy, casual, and welcoming.
Deserves every accolade they receive. Amazing food, fast friendly service at very reasonable prices.
Great farm fresh ingredients, delicious dishes and some great natural wines. We were given great service by Dennis and his colleagues
Awesome little joint for coffee and breakfast / brunch. Pancakes were some of the best I've had in Chicago. Has as awesome vibe, cool without being trendy. Really authentic. Great place.
It's been here forever for a reason. Everything is better than it has to be, without trying too hard. I try and try to remake the Pasta YiaYia at home, but it's never as good as when I'm sitting in Lula.
Thoughtful, brave, and seemingly effortless takes tons of talent and hard work. Lula is a prime example! Delicious and dreamy! See for yourself.
This is a lovely and stylish restaurant. The food at Lula Cafe is outstanding. Portions are reasonable rather than small, and prices similarly reasonably priced. I sat at the bar near the kitchen and got great service. Baked feta was my favorite; creme caramel for dessert was worth the visit on its own.
They have my favorite breakfast of all time. Their lox plate. The bagel is a TRUE everything bagel and everything else comes deconstructed so you can decide how you want to put it together and at what proportions! It’s an expensively priced spot, always with a wait, and sometimes a *too cool* vibe but I would give anything for the lox.
The bucatini pasta yiayia is my favorite here, the service is fantastic, and they have lots of vegetarian friendly dishes.
There's a reason you say things in Chicago have a "Lula vibe". It's because Lula Cafe has been doing the affordable and approachable fine dining thing in Logan Square since before any of the people reading this review lived in Logan Square. Still the best brunch in the neighborhood, too.
An absolute success in every sense of the word. We visited from out of town this weekend and were not disappointed one bit with Lula. Our waitress (Kendal) was an all star. The shared plates did not disappoint. Our favorites were the Beet Soup, the Pork Shoulder, and the Squash Icecream. The restaurant is so worth a visit! Just make sure to get a reservation.
Went there for a late Valentine's date on a Monday night. We were seated right away. Our server was amazing, she was very knowledgeable about the wine, and she was attentive but gave us our space. The food was delicious, the pork shoulder was so tender we didn't use our knives. The baked feta will forever be my go-to appetizer. We ordered cocktails for dessert, which we're both interesting and tasty!
Food is amazing, service is top level, but tack on extra 20-30 mins to whatever your host tells you. They tell you a shorter time to keep you standing by but trust me, add the extra time or come when you have nothing else to do. Trick is to come right at 9am, show up, park at 8:45 and wait in line. Otherwise you’re screwed. The places next door are good tho!
Great breakfast burrito. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. They seem to really work as a team!
Good food great service. Make sure you make a reservation before you plan to visit. It's very crowded on weekends.
Friendly and popular cafe in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago with interesting, unpretentious cuisine but really tasty. We ate well and were ready for the rest of our evening out.
Thanking a friend for pointing me to Lula's direction. I can't believe I lived in Humbold Park for 20 years and had never gone. Great food and great service.
Food was amazing. The atmosphere is amazing. The prices are very high but hey who cares as long as everything else is up to par.
Lula Cafe offers lunch and dinner and the turkey sandwich, beet bruschetta, spaghetti, dry aged beef sirloin, lamb meatballs and persimmon pudding are highly recommended. But don't skip breakfast or brunch. From farm to table, from freshness to innovation, it's the best in town. Located at 2537 North Kedzie Boulevard in Logan Square, Lula Cafe has been serving innovative dishes and pleasing customers and attracting rave reviews since 1999. It's open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and Sunday. Start with the house pastries, including sweet corn brioche, pear and gruyere turnovers and blueberry muffins.
Hip and modern cafe. I'm guessing their menu changes often as we didn't see some of the food items offered from other reviewers. Their buttermilk pancakes (three layers) was good; light crispy crust and moist on the inside, will satisfy the sweet-tooths out there. Breakfast/brunch drip-coffee isn't complimentary, but refills are free. Buckwheat Crepe with duck confit was savory, nicely plated and garnished. Expect $$ & 1/2 price range.
Always great fresh food with great service.
We decided to stop in for lunch 'somewhere' in Chicago on our cross country road trip. Picked this place according to reviews and were not disappointed! Lots of unique food options. The meals on each table we passed looked incredible. You can't go wrong here... you could close your eyes and point to anything on the menu and not be disappointed! I can't remember exactly what we ordered (I should have written the review sooner!). My husband had one of the gourmet sandwiches - delicious! and I ordered the special and it was fabulous! Service was prompt and welcoming. They made us feel like regulars even though we were randomly travelling through. We will definitely visit again if we find ourselves in Chicago!
Crazy long wait - was told an hour which got stretched to 1.5 hrs for a Sunday brunch. Food was fresh and pretty standard for a brunch. The beet bruschetta was great!
Creative menu, knowledgeable servers, and good food. Sometimes hard to get a table but there is flexible seating at the bar and some of the counter spaces.
This place is cool. Really modern menu and staff that has flair and style. We enjoyed the brunch menu and eat in the patio. It can be a long wait, we waited an hour and barely left on time for our next adventure. Eat outside and enjoy the scene. It’s cool.
One of my fav spots to eat. The food is delicious!
