REVIEWS OF Jackalope Coffee & Tea House IN Illinois

Ashli Giles

One of my favorite places to study in the city! Coffee is slightly more than I would prefer to pay but they do a free refill. The food options are varied and amazing. Printing access. Gender neutral bathroom. Knowledgeable staff. Decent access to outlets. Very spacious and great lighting. Street parking right in front if you can get it. No complaints.

Pedro Gonzalez

Dope coffeehouse. I actually haven’t tried any of their coffee but their breakfast sandwiches are delicious and the artwork inside is really quirky and cool. Perfect place to grab a quick breakfast or lunch.

Tahnee Lacey

I wish I lived closer! Fruity pebble croissant was delicious and decor was everything!

Raph O'Turt

Great service on top of delicious menu choices with entertaining mythological names. The interior is as enjoyable as the coffee, which is to say extremely.

William Winslow

Nice selection of pastry and coffee. Nice folks behind the counter. And any establishment that would vote 'Matt Pike For President" can have me as a paying customer

Daniel Dialatone

This place is always consistently good. Every once in a while I may experience a weaker brewed batch of coffee, but for the reasonable prices I can't complain. I love the semi avant garde atmosphere. Bridgeport Coffee which is only about a mile away used to be my favorite coffee place in Bridgeport, but since they've raised their prices I've come to realize that Jackalope is the place that cares about their customers the most.

Judy Lapine

I'm not a huge coffee drinker - I have the occasional iced coffee to pick me up during the week. But there is just something about Blue Bottle's New Orlean's Iced Coffee that keeps me coming back for more. It has such a smooth and unique flavor. I hit it up daily when I'm in IL .

Emmanuel 'Vick' Diaz

Good coffee good vibes

Molly Yoon

Loved this funky vibes! Enjoyable :)

Allison Robinson

hidden away from the buzz from the market street and 6th avenue, this place is a hidden jewel for coffee lovers. The flower cappuccino was perfect. too bad most of the deserts were sold out.

Baba Nuruddin

Had a byo sandwich. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. Surprised by the price being 6 and change. Expected 8ish. Sandwich was a bit smaller than average but still.

Lee Klawans

This place is great, good coffee, nice employees.

DAVIDJAMES717

Nice atmosphere laid back. Nice walls full of art work. Cool posters. I'm Colombian I know good coffee and this place has it. Next time I'll do some lunch.

Peter Caruso

After seeing one of the employees wear a t-shirt very critical of law enforcement I decided I I will no longer continue to give them my business

Jean Reedy

just a casual neighborhood place -hang out or, just stop by. good vibe, good selection, eclectic decor.

katie latour

The owner and her crew really care about Bridgeport and local culture. The staff is great and the Mayan/Mexican mocha is to die for! Great tea options too!

Nima Shams

A pleasant local coffee shop that hides along Halsted. As coffee shops unfortunately evolve to become static and bland. Jackalope stays true to itself churning out quality drinks, food, and being apart of the community they serve!

cesar rios

One of two great coffee shops in bridgeport, They have games and books for you to enjoy. The drinks are always hot and great - cappuccino guy myself.

Matthew Gamboa

I wish they would of told us they didn’t have anymore churros for the churro burro before they took my money. Gave them a $2 tip for nothing.

Kevin E

I enjoy this coffeehouse. Very good coffee, delicious foods... and just a laid back cool spot to do a little work or read a book with Java! Great folks serving you too.

Rits M

Probably the best coffee in the area. I didn't really know what I want, but the girl behind the counter helped me choose a non-coffee coffee and a snack. Yes, that's an unusual order :) she got me the horchata frappe which is super delicious, I was only upset cos I didn't get to finish it. It isn't on the menu but you can ask for it and they give it to you. I did try the bacon donut but i didn't like it as much, i think i was expecting the bacon to be crunchy. The maple on it was delicious though. I would come back here when I'm in the neighborhood. I will say the service in here is a little slow since they only have two people working mostly. I do love the decor and it's the funkiest little coffee shop in the area. They also have a couple of chairs outside the place to sit when it's summer.

Kristen Stary

Great drink selection, old school cartoons on tv, a gallery of cool artwork from local artists on display and for sale

Mona Alshorah

Super nice staff that serves really unique drinks!

Alan Blake

I was quite impressed with this location. Great atmosphere and great employees who have a smile on there face all the time. Really nice inside.

Matthias Lampe

Best Chai Latte in town, which is not so sweet. Very friendly people, great coffee and tea, tasty sandwiches in a casual and themed ambience. All decorations are themed around the Jackalope, the mystical rabbit with antlers.

cecelia zastro

Nice and comfortable good prices

Amy

Very colourful space. Variety of pastries and made-to-order options.

Meena Malik

Funky place, good prices, and we had excellent breakfast sandwiches and coffee. There were many vegetarian options and the staff was friendly.

Adina Mondragon

Best coffe in bridgeport.

Merilyn Mcnulty

Perhaps the finest cup of coffee I've had the pleasure of consuming. Their beans are excellent as well. Unfortunately, the wait is often very long and the price above average. If you have the time and a few bucks to spend, by all means hit this spot. You won't regret it.

Amelia Harrison

Great coffee, great service, creative coffee menu/decor.

Sam R

Great mocha and great place to get some work done.

Lindsey

Coffee was very flavorful, a simple concept that often gets lost. The Sprite breakfast sandwich was also delicious at a price you cant beat. Highly recommend.

meanleangreenebean

Decent brew, smoothie was mediocre at best. Why are there no organic or gluten free options? Nothing really sets this place apart.

Tracy Echols

Great coffee, trendy location, good food, cool atmosphere.

Samantha Breen

Good coffee, even better atmosphere. Chai lattes are good too.

Netiya Shiner

Jackalope might just be my favorite coffee shop in Chicago, and that's saying something because there are a hell of a lot of good coffee shops in this city. From the excellent decor to the always-friendly owners, Jackalope consistently provides exceptional service. Their drinks are amazing, especially the horchata latte & Mayan mocha. And if you happen to be there on a day when they're serving yellow lentil soup, GET IT. It's amazing. All in all Jackalope a gem of a coffee shop for the Bridgeport and greater Chicago communities.

Kate

A hidden gem in the heart of Bridgeport. They have unique drinks such as honey lavender and horchata latte. Very cool place to have a cup of joe.

Michelle Kelly

Amazing Chai and great atmosphere!!

Diane Beyersdorfer

This little coffee house is chock full of character. The menu is diverse, interesting, and very tasty. I love the tea lattes! Awesome place to sit and study.

Fire Falco

This place has a great atmosphere and scenery. This place is very calming and a great cafe to grab a small dish, a unique cup of coffee, and just sit down and draw. My favorite sandwich here is the signature "Jackalope." There is amazing art on display the walls along other items like a Jackalope head on display. One of my favorite locations in Bridgeport and one of my favorite cafes in Chicago.

Natalie

Cool ambiance with reasonable prices. Large selection of coffees and tea. I enjoyed the "dirty ho"

Aaron Alford

This place is dope. Their sandwiches are all different mythical creatures. The coffee is very good. They have a great environment, with local artist work on the walls. They do close pretty early, but what doesn't in South Chicago?

Shirley Zawaskak

A hidden gem

Niobe Boon Mendoza

Yum breakfast!

Joseph M Pantoja Jr

great neighborhood coffee place

Taylor Alcantar

This cafe is a gem. The drinks are great and they have a fairly large sandwich menu. The interior is ecentric and fun, and doubles as a gallery show casing local artists. Plus everyone is always friendly here! Dogs are welcome inside while you order your drink.

Paula Buckley

Coffee shop with a touch of magic. Soups, sandwiches coffee down to best teas. Wi-Fi get together. Quite time in back with a nice latte. Staff very magical

Destiny Lawson

Had the Chimera (think I spelled it right), really good habanero sauce and iced latte. Great vibe as a little coffee shop in the neighborhood.

megshi thakur

Best place to study and chill.

Jonna Newberry

Love this coffee shop! I love all the jackalope and kooky/artsy decorations all around. They sell some of the artwork from local artists, too! I'm not a big coffee drinker but I like the coffee shop atmosphere. So I can't speak for the coffee but their hot chocolate was good! I recommend checking it out if you want a cool coffee shop to go to! Sometimes during the summer, they have food trucks come and have a charity celebration event.

Ivee L

Lot of space for work, reliable Wi-Fi, consistent good brewed coffee, and there's sandwiches and donuts. Ask them to warm up the bacon donut ;) This place gets cold in the winter though, can't really stay there for too long comfortably. And the music gets too loud like a bar/ club some time.

Dav Med

A great little local joint, nice efficient employees. Great food and beverages, as well as a cool indie rock setting . My go to coffee & lunch spot.

Daniel Pugh

Jackalope is one of Chicago's BEST coffee shops. The coffee is excellent. The staff is friendly. The decor is interesting & there's an authentic community vibe.

Shane Malecha

Really awesome decor. Excellent food and drink. Will definitely go back.

Richard Chaput

Great place, real close with lots of goodies

Holly Peterson

Good place, great priced specialty drinks, good atmosphere. I have been loyal to jackalope for about a year now and I've never had a bad experience there.

Kathleen Mauch

Delicious pourover, fun environment to lounge and read, cute dogs abound, kickass toilet paper dispenser.

Kevin Lynn

Quick & reliable service, serving up delicious drinks. I usually stick to iced lattes, but they offer a variety of other drinks. Think coffees/lattes/teas.

Matteo Alexander Ponce

THE BEST COFFE SHOP IN BRIDGEPORT

Randall Jamrok

This is a good coffee shop to sit and do some work at. They have decent coffee and good breakfast sandwiches which are unique. The workers have always been hard-working and friendly to me. Very chill atmosphere.

ADRIAN BRAVO

Amazing ppl and coffee

Aniruddha Bohra

Amazing coffee friendly and nice barista as well as having a cozy ambience with a small outside seating available as well. A great cafe for the local community and nearby college students.

Aislinn Davis

A very fun and eclectic coffee house with lots of great options for drinks and snacks. This place is usually crowded, but can still be a good place to work

Eric Izaguirre

This place is great. The prices are fair for coffee and food. The vibe and look makes it so chill. I recommend the dirty ho hot/cold coffee drink.

Ryan Wulfric

Nice place, staff are very friendly, drinks are good, excellent apple cider.

Anna Percival

I’m a pretty frequent customer here, and this place is amazing. Everything on the menu is fantastic, the workers are really friendly and are very hard workers, AND this place is dog friendly! They even have dog treats at the register. I usually order a mocha and either a donut or a breakfast sandwich. The toffee nut white mocha is fantastic! I would also highly recommend their cappuccino. They have such a unique selection of drinks, and every single drink is unique and tasty. Not to mention, their drinks have better prices than drinks at starbucks or any other chain coffee location. The breakfast sandwiches are amazing and always super fresh, warm, melty, and tasty. Their donuts are the best donuts I’ve ever had. The sprinkle donut is always perfectly made. It’s also a really great location to study at. The back room has a bunch of tables to sit at and spread out and study. I’ve spent many days here studying for 5-6 hours, and it’s a really comfy place to study.

Brendan Joyce

My home away from, great food, great coffee but best of all it has an inviteing vibe w great people!

Brit ney

Very cool decor, coffee was pretty average

Tawna Holliday

Friendly and helpful staff. Great coffee menu.

Johanna Romero

Very nice atmosphere and the staff is very friendly

Jennifer Hargrave

I just moved to the area, and this is my favorite coffee shop. The dirty ho is something special! People are free to bring their dogs (which I love!), but you should be aware if you are allergic

kristopher david irizarry-hoeksema

Super friendly staff, really good coffee. I'm disabled and have a service dog and the staff here does a superior job of making everyone feel welcome. The world would be a lot better place if there were more places like this. Also, the decor made up of rock posters is awesome. Look forward to coming back here on my next visit to Chicago. They absolutely do have the best coffee in Chicago. If you are visiting the city, take the Halsted bus, stop at Jackalope, then eat at George's and finish up the night at Maria's Community Bar.

Erik Hanson

Metropolis beans aren't as good as what they offer over at Bridgeport Coffeehouse, but I generally prefer the ambiance, style and food options at Jackalope. The place is vibrant, covered in art, gig posters, and stuff from local artists and community groups, and they always seem to have something old and amazing on the TV. Maybe I'm just a 90s punk kid, but this place really suits my style. Nice bonus: Jackalope is next to Halsted bus stops, and they post a live monitor that shows bus times.

Marjori Harvey

This place is AMAZING. The best coffee I have ever had. The rose latte tastes exactly like a rose, flavorful and the aroma as well! And the Brad Pitt! My God. The sweetness of the coffee is perfect and the taste of that foam is perfection. My mom and I loved it here and we will definitely return.

Joshua Kirkpatrick

Awesome space to do work in! Accessible outlets, great friendly staff every time I come in, & an awesome environment. Honestly, coffee prices are pretty standard compared to chain coffee shops, so I don’t mind giving my money to this place! The breakfast sandwiches are at a great price and always delicious.

Katrina Abarca

Great variety of beverages! Plain coffee just as good! Dogs allowed!

Nick Bailey

Pros: lovely ambience, friendly staff locally owned. Cons: The drip coffee is... just not good. I is always super acidic and tastes stale.

Cassie Sauleiko

Jackalope is an awesome cozy coffee shop! They use local coffee &bakery, reusable mugs (when ordering in), have a regular menu for food &drinks, a seasonal menu, different furniture for sitting, art work &decor everywhere, &just an awesome atmosphere! You can hangout to do homework or work too. There is a reward card that once entirely filled, you get a free drink. The people are SUPER friendly &Jan, the owner, is just awesome! Dogs are allowed 10 mins in shop! Enjoy your next cup of coffee &snack here!

Eric Marcanio

A super cool building and is a fun place to grab a coffee or smoothie

Bharat Walia

Gorgeous space for reading and chilling, 3/5 whole milk lattes. Crew is friendly and the spot is unique. They don't carry almond milk that's barista blend by Pacific or Califa. The espresso could use a little bit of work so can the steaming of the milk. Will return to hang but may skip on the latte next time.

R Mtx

Pretty chill space with great coffee, teas, pastries and sandwiches. Pet friendly and they even have a treat jar for your fur babies. Free Wi-Fi. Awesome wall art and friendly staff. We go here often my daughter loves it!

Rochelle Rochelle

This place might have been good if my sandwich didn't have white dog hair.. or maybe if the meat was chilled.the smoothie was all right. This place could have been better. Disappointed, never going back.

Concepcion Obispo

Nice cozy place

Jacqueline Reyna

Good coffee, good people, cool art

Leonida Warrens

love the coffee there

Skylar Moran

This place is everything I look for in a coffee shop: good coffee (Metropolis), good food (veg-friendly), eccentric interior, comfortable seating, & engaging employees. On my first visit, I had a choice of tip jars, Devo vs. the B-52's. On the (small) screen above, a Twin Peaks marathon silently ran. I settled in near the window in the back room, & quickly lost track of time.

Danny S

Great place to stop by for a coffee and bagel :-)(+_+)

Derrick Pearson

I've been here twice for brunch because the location/view is lovely. But the food isn't anything special and their teas are overpriced. The French toast is simple but the maple syrup is delicious. The truffle eggs on avocado isn't anything special. The mimosas are tasty.I would come here for the view but not for their brunch menu.

M Carnes

Cute and quirky. I got a delicious americano in a huge mug. Relaxing place to hangout

Jocelyn Rodriguez

I loved it! Great environment. The food is amazing. The shop has so much personality like the people who go there too. The employees are very nice and even offer free soup to the costumers! Never have I seen that at a place. I highly recommend it.

Sue Basko

Great vibes, great musical selections, good food and.drinks, fantastic people.

Kelli K.

Super rad place to sit & chill with a cup of your fav drink. They allow dogs in the 1st small entry room & outside obviously. The ambiance is quirky & bright, this is a neighborhood gem!

Austin Graff

Jackalope Coffee is a quirky cafe in Bridgeport (south of Chinatown). The outside (and inside) are decorated with bright murals and paintings. It's a large cafe (two dining areas and outdoor seating) that serves coffee all day and breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, order a latte and two chocolate chip croissants. They are from nearby Bridgeport Bakery and perfectly warm in the mornings. If you want a unique coffee shop experience with good food, go here!

ibrahim farooqui

Great selection of coffee and teas!! A great cozy little spot where you can get your work done in peace.

Robert Garcia

Great Bridgeoort coffee shop.

Viktor Köves

A great place to work and get a mocha, food, or some treats! They also always have a great soup of the day to warm you up on a cold day.

Marco Jimenez

Good cofree. Decent sandwiches. Fun decorative theme. Very friendly staff. My only complaint is that the window areas aren't used very well. The tables back right in to the counter so even if a seat is open you can't get to it.

William Alvizo

My favorite cafe in Chicago! If you're ever near or in Bridgeport be sure to grab some coffee or a snack here. The staff is always nice, the environment quiet and the place is unique but cozy. At first the menu on the chalk board will be slightly hard to read but once you get used to it it's easy to order. If you're a coffee addict be sure to pick up a coffee card (buy 10 drinks, get one free) near the register.

Dan Regalado

A go-to coffee shop known for its otherworldly bites, brews, and community vibes.

Doug K.

Nice joint in Bridgeport. The old and the young gather to enjoy good coffee and good treats. Bring your dog if you want.

Jesse Raber

Extremely chill spot

Emmanuel Lagunas

Hands down one of the best coffee shops in Chicago

Amber Keen

Good coffee, delicious hot pressed sandwiches with a cozy, alt-underground vibe. Also worth noting, the people who work here are authentic, friendly and refreshingly unpretentious. *BONUS* This place is dog friendly! They keep complimentary treats at the counter, so my dogs are always super excited when we come here. Did I also mention maple bacon donuts? Nom.

Smitha Shivakumar

Great music, friendly staff, super comfy ambience, very interesting menu and not too expensive on the wallet!! I absolutely love it.. and they are open from 6:30am,early morning good coffee always leads to good day

Ariel Goldfarb

Great vibe, nice people, and pretty good coffee (CCulture), but not quite a 3rd wave cup, if that’s what you are after (see pic; more like 2.88!). Still pretty tasty, and a nice oasis of a spot...

S Garcia

Owners make the place have a great atmosphere. Great menu selection with Veggie options. Lattes are excellent. Coffee refills are $1.

Kevin Martin

45 minute wait for 3 mediocre breakfast sandwiches

Louis Khor

Wife and I came here 3 years ago and have not been back.

Ella Hall

Great service, had my Kyoto replaced with New Orleans since it was not done brewing this morning. Coffee was very tasty in my opinion especially with a slice of sweet toast. Planning to come again hopefully the Kyoto will be ready next time with the same friendly staff as well.

M Aponte

Tasty sandwiches and great coffee

Jess Colopy

Fun hidden gem in Bridgeport with one-of-a-kind mugs, fun furniture, and a good variety of both "typical" and out of the box drinks and sandwiches. I've loved everything I've tried. The staff is friendly and great at what they do. Only con is that it gets super busy because everyone wants to hang out there, but I guess that's not really a con. :)

Alma Sales

The food and atmosphere of the place is great! Seemed like a place where most people could just sit down and work or read a book. Loved the creative names to their items and really enjoyed the "Centaur."

jas

Good cafe for quick bite and caffi e up.

Jordan Swanson

Best hidden coffee shop gem. Great to work outside in a zen atmosphere. Good service and coffee.

Brian Cobb

Freaking awesome place. Great cold brews, lattes, teas, and blended drinks. It's been a couple of years since my last visit and their quality is just as good. Great atmosphere too with ample seating inside and a few spots outside on a quiet street.

Qiyuan Zhou

The atmosphere is pretty unique here and the coffee is great

Sawyer Webster

Good vibe, good coffee. The baristas we're pleasant and service was quick.

Zhin Ross

I love this place. Best in Bridgeport

SaraLouise Dawson

Small, quirky, alternative coffeeshop. Great service, good drink options whether you're a tea or a coffee person (or a milkshake or smoothie person!), and the foods not bad either! I recommend the chupacabra breakfast sandwich for early risers, or the Jackalope sandwich for folks arriving later in the day. The tip jar options are fun and creative! And it's a good environment to study, meet with friends, or just enjoy your morning coffee.

Claudia Gunter

So awesome for a small neighborhood Coffeehouse that stayed TRUE to their funk! The music, hard rock, multiple tea options, baked goods, sandwiches and coffee is EXCELLENT (My soy mocha was the BEST I've had this year!) And....you can spend your entire stay just checking out the eclectic and eccentric artwork, novelty knickknacks and amateur art on the walls. Check out my photos...Barracuda!!!!

Jasmin Santos

I love this place. It's great for groups or just to be alone. They have books and wifi. Fantastic coffee, fantastic environment.

Tom Carmichael

Awesome breakfast sandwiches. Quite the "hipster" hang out in Bridgeport.

Ted Sparrow

Awesome atmosphere good coffee Chill Spot to hang out and relax

Allen Spencer

Great place for coffee. Sandwiches are very cheap. Very GenX punk vibe. Can't go wrong with a spot that had Melvins posters on the wall.

GraveyardTale

Great Coffee!!! The owners and staff are awesome.. It's got a really cool vibe...always killer tunes playing in the background. Totally recommend this place!

Greg Hamilton

Great vibe for a casual coffee, tea, or bite to eat!

Rosa West

The staff here was extremely kind and helpful! (Not at all what i'd expect from such a busy place) The store is a little small, but I was able to find a spot comfortably and stick around without pressure from others about finding a seat. Although it is a bit pricier than other coffee stores, they are serving genuine coffee, so you are paying for the quality. I will definitely stop by whenever I am nearby!!

Chicago TTT

Excellent coffee, excellent background!

David Link

I always get the banana chocolate milkshakes and theyre always amazing! Parking isnt too hard to find, definitely worthy of a date spot. Update: only some staff are knowledgeable to put bananas into a milkshake. I can only order my drink when certain staff are there.

Anna L

Nice coffee house. Did not have change for a hundred.

Scott Hajduk

Outstanding roast and staff. Bridgeport's finest.

Jeff Song

I love this cafe, and one of their specials is the "Dirty Ho" - horchata with espresso! That's my go to treat when I visit. Super friendly staff, and a huge range of options for hot or cold drinks and snacks.

Scott Kitson

Great coffee. Excellent tea selection. Good sandwiches. Very friendly staff. Fun atmosphere.

Jacqueline Schillinger

Excellent coffee and friendly service. Cute atmosphere.

Winnie Vasquez

I love this coffee/tea place. Every here is extra friendly. My favorite drink is the lavender fog which is basically tea with milk.

Emily Nydam

Great baristas and everything from lattes to Italian sodas.

Wyatt Carson

Super cute, a little on the pricey side, lots of dogs

R Lockon

Better place for me take white moka

Andrew Beahan

Pretty cool hipster vibe coffee shop but with high prices

Winnie Ho

This place is the best. The staff is excellent! The drinks and food are delicious.

Jaime Montoya

Excellent place. Try. the horchata and centaur sandwich

Great place for coffee a smoothie or food. Excellent environment for either a quick small meeting or just to get away to get some internet work done.

Diana Delbecchi

Great stop! Loved that they had veggie meat options for breakfast sandwiches. Really made my day!
