THEY HAVE LAVENDER LATTES! This was a fairly new concept when I traveled along the Pacific coast last year, all the independent coffee shops have it and I was hesitant to try, but holy heck is it delicious! This was a pleasant surprise in Downtown Barrington! Great space and friendly staff!

I had a reunion with an old friend from high school at this cafe so for that reason alone, it's a place I'll always hold in high regard. That said, the iced teas they offer are my favorites. I really don't drink much coffee but my wife can always tell when it's from Cook St and scolds me when it's from anywhere else. For me, the little pastries are very often a quick go-to breakfast (Don't judge! They're delicious) and the folks behind the counter always bring good vibes. Support local, people!

Stopped by while visiting friends in Barrington on a Sunday afternoon. The atomosphere / music / seating were all excellent. Friendly staff made an awesome Americano for me and the Banana Bread with choco chips was phenominal. There's a Starbucks down the street - skip that and come here.

I wish they were as numerous as some other coffee shops in the area are. I thought most coffee shops were at least arguably the best until I tried here and decided those other stores don't even know what coffee is. Hands down the best beans around.

I love Cook Street Coffee. The baristas are always so friendly and personable. The atmosphere is always upbeat and fun. They are always busy, but there are plenty of tables to sit down at inside and out and they are great at giving you your drinks quickly. Their variety is really good from decaf, to normal black coffee to lattes. This will always be my go to place.

Quaint shop in downtown Barrington. Not a great selection of syrups if you do flavored espresso drinks, but the espresso is done well and the coffee is tasty. Parking is tough on weekends

Very cute coffee place! I had a gluten free avocado sandwich (I think it was called veggiecado) and the iced honey bee latte. Both were fantastic and the staff were all super nice.

We come here regularly for our drinks. My husband loves the mocha's. I'm just glad they carry oat milk. My only complaints are that some baristas don't measure properly and don't use enough chai so it only tastes like hot oat milk. Also, days that managers aren't there it seems that drinks and food take much longer. But other than that, we do like coming here. It's a nice change from Starbucks.

Wanted to try a new coffee place outside my day-to-day realm of Starbucks. Went here around noon on a Wednesday for a business meeting. The lavender honey latte was excellent along with the Amarillo Chipotle Panini. If i pass the area again I would order a drink and sandwich to go but will not plan on another business meeting as it is impossible to find seating. Once the seats are filled by lunch time, you won't see a seat open until probably 2/2:30pm.

Lack of staff, too long of a line to bother with. With Starbucks around the corner and good breakfast places nearby, why bother. Once you get your coffee it is excellent, but is it worth the wait.

Cook Street Coffee was a home away from home while my friend and I were living in IL to support our guys during baseball season!! Not going to lie, it was hard to spend $7 on a coffee (this includes tip, I always tip), so we went about once a week for the last month we lived there. Once you took that first sip of coffee the money as worth it! Definitely recommend the sweet honey bee and the seven heaven. I do wish the vanilla ella was a bit sweeter but I LOVE how they make their own vanilla bean syrup! I also loved how their cups (etc) were environmentally friendly. I did not try their food as I cannot eat gluten so I always pack my own food, but they did have a few GF pastry options if you are in the same boat as I am!

By far, my ALL-TIME favorite coffee shop! Since my husband & I travel / are on-the-move with our jobs often, we've made a fun tradition of going to different little local coffee shops together! Honestly, we found Cook Street Coffee by happenchance. But hey! I was so impressed that I actually started working here 3-5 times a week these past few weeks (perks of working remotely). I drive about 30 minutes, but it's totally worth it! My favorite drink is the honey latte (made with local honey) and oat milk! I enjoy bringing in my own personal cup & sipping local. I am also a HUGE customer service person! It is soooo important to me, as it is one of the most important aspects of my own / any business. I know that just ONE experience alone can keep a customer coming back or not at all. I have witnessed the manager, Tim, interact with so many customers and even his employees. His leadership & kindness & intentionality has been really impressive to see! I give my FIVE STARS for the quality of their coffee + effectiveness of their management + sweet employees + all-around amazing customer service / full experience.

If I could give it a higher rating, I would. Each employee LOVES coffee and will gladly step out from behind the counter to chat about their favorite beans and brewing methods. They make the perfect Cortado (and cappuccino too). Beans roasted by Conscience Cup are a bit on the pricey side, but worth it for those who want correctly roasted coffee beans.

Always great coffee, friendly service and perfect variety of music. Only disappointed when every chair is taken, but now that the weather is warmer, sitting outside is lovely, too. Love their new home-made chocolate for mochas! YUM!

I work in Barrington, but do not live there, and it surprises me how many people have never heard of this place! Coffee is delicious, staff is friendly, and service is always on par. Their new-ish menu is also great, I recommend the vegi-cado sandwich. I don't see any reason for people to go to Starbucks with this place around the corner!

At Cook Street consistency is only second to customer service. Of course their coffee drinks are excellent. Pastries are either procured from well known did or baked in house. And they have a unique and tasty selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. But the things that keep me coming back to this independent gem are the consistency of the drinks and food and the customer service. The team seems to really care about their products and the customer experience. It's that commitment that keeps me coming back.

By far one of the best coffee houses in IL. Staff is fun, food is great. Speed of food can be an issue if busy and catching a train but plan ahead and you will be fine. Go for the quad latte, you will enjoy.

I have driven by this place a hundred times but never stopped in. This is a medium sized non chain coffe shop. They offer a bunch of coffee types and flavors. If you dine in they give you your drink in a regular cup and dish. The atmosphere is great and they have live entertainment from time to time.

Wonderful iced lavender honey latte (called the "Sweet Honey Bee"), with house-roasted coffee, house-made lavender syrup, and locally-sourced honey. The barista was wonderful as well, and when I mentioned both of these things to the manager, Tim, as he walked by, he turned out to be very kind and a brilliant conversationalist. This place is a bit out of my way, but well worth the trip.

Just a fabulous local coffee shop. Everything is five stars. Start with the coffee - I challenge you to find better local coffee roasters in the area. The coffee variety and quality is excellent. The staff are educated coffee lovers who know how to take care of people as well. The ownership are “true believers” in what makes great coffee. Great location in downtown Barrington with enough parking as well. A must visit for anyone passing through who appreciates great coffee and wants to support a great local business.

Good coffee and atmosphere. Only fault was that their system of when your coffee is ready should be by personal name not the coffee drink name. Got my order taken because them calling out the name of the drink I ordered. They did give me a card for $2 off card but thankfully I wasn't in a hurry and could sit there and wait for another drink to be made

It's a local coffeehouse yet business minded, meaning many business meetings are conducted here in the mornings and throughout the day. Hard pressed to locate a coffee minded roast snob here or the quiet nook to relax and read the paper in. The brews, food, and prices are all good and reasonable which create the gravity for the consistent traffic. The crowd and staff are all friendly and eager to socially engage. The patio is sun soaked as well as centrally located within the charming allure of Barrington. Rest assure you will be happy you found Cook Street Coffee.

Great, little coffee shop in the downtown Barrington area that was recommended to me by a Barrington native. These guys have great food, especially their breakfast sandwiches, but also have awesome coffee drinks. They have great wifi access, plenty of space to sit, and outlets to work. When I come here, I usually stay for a few hours to work. The staff is exceptionally friendly and the people who come in and out are great. This is a must visit if you are trying out different, local coffee shops.
