Went here on a Saturday afternoon and there was only one waitress and one cook. 2 jibaritos and a meal took just about 2 hours. Although it took forever thfoodod was good, I went back again for lunch the following Monday and the good was ready when they said it would be but the jibaritos did not come with the garlic oil and the cook took too long to give it to me so I left. I can't be late to work. The sandwiches were horrible the lettuce was brown and the plantain was undercooked and so thick. I'm never going again.

They advertised "jibarito fest" but when you get there it's just a restaurant with a regular menu. The jibarito was dry and over priced, the menu said it came with rice and bean but only came with the sandwich. The service sucks. Took forever to get are food the fries were cold they had to take them back. Moral of the story dont waste your time or money.

Had my favorite - jibarito - it was good but not the best I've had. My kid had the pork chops and loved them. Generous portion. Price was higher than expected / warranted. A decent spot if you want a quiet Cuban meal in the area.

Gave it one star to write the review. I convinced my teen to try this place for their birthday. So so so disappointed. Let’s just say the waitress appeared nervous to even serve this. The plantain lost its color from how many times it looked like it was refried. From how hard and difficult to chew I suspect it could have been microwaved as well to warm up before serving to me. I chose pork and the grease poured out as I lifted to take a bite. The pork appeared to be the shredded residue at the bottom of the pan submerged in grease. I typically only post good reviews. I felt this one was a matter of being responsible and letting the public know how poor the quality of the food was. I will never return.

We were visiting some friends in the area and since my husband is Cuban and we love Cuban food we thought we'd try Cafe Cubano. We ordered a bunch of tapas such as, empandas, fried shrimp, plantains, ham croquettes, papas rellanas, black beans and rice. Honestly, the only things we liked were the empanadas and they were just ok. The shrimp was regular ol deep fried shrimp, they forgot to give us the Mojo to go with the plantains, the beans had no flavor and the ham croquettes and rellanas were just gross. Maybe my husband's Abuela's food has spoiled us but either way I'm sure she'd be ashamed of the chef. Seriously guys...you can do better. And next time (if there is a next time) don't forget our mojo!

I just got back home from eating at this place and i will NEVER return again. The yellow rice was not cook all the way and was wet and mushy NASTY!!!!!!!!!! and the jibarito was nasty no taste at all and the cheese tasted old. i left my whole plate there . i mentioned it to the lady and she gave me a 3.00$ discount. my daughter loves food and she didn't even eat nothing from here. i left thsat place feeling disgusted. **** the food is not fresh*******

We had a wonderful time! We went for the Empanada Fall Fest! The restaurant was busy, but the service was timely and the wait staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. The empanadas were ALL delicious! We ordered carne, pollo, camaron and Nutella! We brought home guayaba y queso for breakfast! I can't wait for tomorrow morning!

Food is solidly delicious and service is quick and friendly. I would highly recommend if you want a quick bite to eat or a fun atmosphere for a date. They do have a TV with constant Cuban rap videos on that might turn some patrons off but I thought it was fun.

Not horrible, but no where is good as it used to be. As an example, they are a Cuban restaurant, but they don't serve Cuban bread any longer! Also, they didn't have Spanish rice, and the white rice was undercooked and crunchy! I was so disappointed during my last visit, and I can no longer recommend this restaurant.

Not a place I would recommend. The meal was eatable at best and had we not been shopping all day or had spent 30 bucks for two sandwiches we may have walked out. There were two waitresses and 3 customers in the whole establishment and it took 10 mins to get a refill. There are some amazing places to get Jibaritos but this is not one of them. The waitresses were sweet.

This place is amazing! The food and drinks are amazing. The interior is beautiful, and most of all the staff was incredible. I came in before closing with my boyfriend and they let me stay, encouraging us not to rush and enjoy the food. I couldn't believe how sweet and genuine the staff is here, they truly just want costumers to enjoy their time there as well as the food. Best experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Will be coming again more often.

Their food is good but overpriced.The flan is excellent. One time they cut up a breaded chicken patty and used it on a chicken kabob instead of using the grilled (skinless) chicken that normally comes on a chicken kabob. It may have been an honest mistake but it seemed more like they were cutting corners or being cheap. I still come for the flan.

My husband and I wanted to try something new. Read the reviews and decided to give this place a try.. Service was good, our waitress was very nice and was very helpful. Food is not worth the price. Way to much $$ for what you get. Again, it's not horrible but it is also not the best. Will I go back? No. Will I recommend? No.

I came here with my family. First, I had to go to the car to change my daughter because there was not anywhere to do it. It was scary with how busy the street was. Second and most importantly, I ordered the smoked pork chop. I had to send it back immediately because it smelled spoiled. I've been here before with no issues. Our server just asked "do you want something else?" She also made sure I knew she thought I was lying by saying "I didn't smell anything nor did the cook". Yessenia was our server and didn't seem bothered by any of this. This was a terrible experience.

Awesome flavors...the tastes work together beautifully. We drive here from West Chicago because it is that good! Warm friendly service as well.

Not sure why they're so many bad reviews. I have been here several times for lunch and I have never had a bad experience... The owner is very friendly as well as the staff. They make you feel at home. I have always got my food in a very reasonable amount of time and it has always been great. I will definitely continue to give them my business.

Had the jibarito and it was nothing special, empanadas de shrimp weren't fresh or mashed up. Their were tiny shrimp you can buy and just stuff.

Steak dinner was juicy and flavorful. My wife and I decided to go when we saw that Cafe Cubano will be attending the taste of elmwood park. My wife had the Miami sandwich which is a upgrade to the cuban classic and she really enjoyed it. The sangria was really good as well. I will definitely be returning soon.

First staff was extremely uneducated every question I asked had no response except a head shake saying no. Secondly food was extremely salty. Too much seasonings used. Water was tap Lastly and this is why I refuse to ever return to this establishment is because my 6 year old son was given alcohol (Malibu) in his drink. Waitress was well aware he was drinking pina colada ordered that she did not even card for that reason which was my understanding because when I order that drink anywhere I am carded to make sure liquor is allowed but in this case I specifically told her just one drink for me and my son to share is fine mind you I am pregnant as well. I am very distraught with how the staff handled the situation when I asked for manager the waitress literally said and I quote "it's only Malibu so its ok". Smh Manager did listen to my complaint and apologized and took drink n my son's meal off the check but did not remove her waitress from the floor and that was very bothering to the situation it felt as if they just brushed it off and did not care about the severity of a 6yr old being intoxicated in their establishment. Owner showed up late and although he did not speak directly to us he did quickly remove waitress and handled his staff accordingly.
