Sure, there's a million Latin American and Mexican restaurants in Logan Square, but Cafe Con Leche is definitely one of the best. The food is amazing and full of flavor and unique ingredients, and definitely more interesting than your standard fare. I also love that they do breakfast, lunch and dinner all day regardless of when you're there, and that they offer a full service bar with creative cocktails. The atmosphere is laid back and the staff are attentive and friendly to be around.

The food was great! Very tasty. Kitchen is pretty slow, though. I ordered a salad (not on a weekend evening, mind you) and it took about 40 mins to get the food to the table.

Wonderful food. My girlfriend and I loved it. She is from LA, and lived in Texas as well, so she has been around great Latin/Mexican offerings. She claims that this was one of, if not THE, best she has ever had. The service was about as good as it gets. Water refills, extra napkins, anything we needed was brought to us before we even knew we needed it. It had nicer decor than is typical. Slightly elevated presentation (food) compared to normal. Contemplating going back again tomorrow to get the chorizo plate. The diners next to us ordered it and it looked amazing.

My husband and I love to come here for lunch on Sundays. They have an amazing steak breakfast torta and divine cafe con leche. Their jibarito sandwich is out of this world as is the cubano. You can't go wrong! The service is excellent and the restaurant is so cozy.

A popular and long time Logon Square restaurant serving a delicious menu of creative Latino fare. The long line (especially on weekends) is definitely worth the wait. The ambience is warm and upbeat. I love the Cafe con Leche and the food is always top notch.

Friendly staff and my food came out in minutes! I didn’t enjoy the tortillas but the portions are huge and I got full! Lots of locals and regulars in this restaurant. There’s a back patio and plenty of seating for groups since the tables push together/apart.

This was my first visit. It was a sugar skull painting event. O really enjoyed myself. I am a big girl for me it was a little tight. That was the only down side. I enjoyed the hostesses and the rest of the staff. Friendly, supportive and social. The drink I had was really good and the guacamole oh so delish. My waitress totally ruined my experience today @cafeconlechechi . I was there celebrating my aunt’s 40th bday. The waitress was extremely rude - my happy hour was not very happy. She laughed at me when she asked for the mole on the side as if i didn’t know what I wanted. Then to add injury to insult she laughed at my niece as she had a melt down due to the no outside food policy that was posted nowhere. I respect the policy. But I will not accept someone laughing at my niece. Very disappointed.

Great place for brunch! Usually busy, but not too loud. Good food portions with delicious flavor. Recommend the stake and eggs! Their hot chocolate is delicious too, not super sweet and not bland. It’s just perfect in flavor. The workers there are also friendly and welcoming.

The food was good! We had ceviche as an appetizer and even my kids ate it. My 2 littles had the steak tacos and both complained that they were lacking flavor, however they both loved the retried beans. I had the steak tacos with the works and I think that offset the lack of flavor they complained about. The service wasn’t terrible but there were areas of improvement. Our server was nice but only checked on us once. We got water refills when we asked for them. And then felt rushed to get out when I still had food on my plate and I was asked if I was done as he reached for the plate. There is a kid menu but it’s only for 8 and under.

Really good breakfast and good service too, the employees greet people with a smile. My only problem was that one day I went in the afternoon and asked for tacos, not only did they take a long time to bring my order but when the waitress gave them to me they were cold, not even warm. I called her over and she took them back but with an attitude.

Worse experience.... my wife went to have dinner with her friends. One of her friends has an Autistic child and needs to be attended quickly. First they deny her a kids menu because of her age. After waiting a half hour for their drinks her friend decided she needed to run across the street to McDonald's to get food for her daughter because the waitress was not coming to take the order, and her daughter was hungry and getting anxious. When she returned the waitress came out to the patio (yes they were not even inside the restaurant.) And told her that outside food wasn't allowed. Her friend then proceeded to let the waitress know that her daughter was autistic and needed to be attended quickly. She was rude and still said that it wasn't allowed. She called her manager to come to the table and apparently they have no idea how an autistic child is..... point is they were treated poorly and I will no longer be giving them my business.

Only reason why I'm rating this place a four is because they took a while to bring us our food. Besides that the food was super delicious; they have vegetarian options! The service was good and the atmosphere as well! A good mixture of customers not just hipsters. They have free parking in the back which is great!!

The food is probably one of the best foods you can ever try in that restaurant. They have mexican food and American food. My favorite food to eat there is flautas is probably the best food I have eaten before also tortas and tacos also good. My favorite drink is orange juice the orange juice has a flavor that any other juice don’t have. The cafe is something u wanna get during breakfast, is just taste good that it will make u go back to that restaurant. Restaurant is a place you can go eat during a day or having a fancy lunch, diner. I would go back to this restaurant because besides the food being good they give you a good service. Or at least they will try to be nice as they can be. I have been going to this restaurant since i was like 3. And is one of the best place i have gone to eat.

This place has been my spot for work meetings. Good breakfast and coffee. Nobody will rush you to move out if you are having a meeting. Love chilaquiles verdes mmmm and my go to drink is cafe con leche of course (sometimes you will get a design on the foam and sometimes you won't). Logas Square must stop foe breakfast or lunch.

Fantastic sit down place! A little crowded but it kind of added to the vibe of the place. I got the special which was a slowed cooked pork roast with purple sweet potatoes and it was delicious. Very creative appetizers as well. Ingrid our server was friendly and on top of everything. 10/10 would go back.

Best burrito in Chicago. I remember when this race was a small Cafe but they haven't changed the recipe for the wonderful burrito. Great service, people are nice as hell here. Great place to go to for lunch. Great for delivery of hangover breakfast.

I hear from a mom of a special needs autistic 10 year old girl that yesterday, you couldn’t accommodate her needs. And all you did was site your policy. Seriously? I’m leaving this here to make other parents of special needs children stay clear of this establishment. An entire table was ordering food but since the drink order took 20 minutes and food would take much longer, the mom went and got her autistic child a burger and fries because the child was hungry and autistic children have no concept of patience. But you wouldn’t see past your policy. And shamed her and her mom!!!! Poor decision.

Lame! I really think the food is still good but the service has fallen so hard. I ordered delivery a year ago and after 1.5 hours of waiting and 30 minutes of back and forth calling we were told they forgot to make our food. Today we went after confirming they were opening at 8am, waited 18 min, and called about 5 times until someone picked up and said they were opening at 9. What is going on? This used to be my go to breakfast spot.

I would recommend not going to this restaurant. A friend took their child with a disability and they kept them waiting so long she had to find something for her to eat. The manager didn’t understand and gave her a hard time for bringing in a sandwich just for her. In this day and age it’s disappointing and not good enough for a business. Inclusivity please.

Great place to eat. We got our food really quickly too, which is always a huge plus. The service was wonderful. - Couple things to keep in mind: if you have a larger party you’ll want to make sure it’s planned ahead of time. Even then there is a really long wait sometimes (especially on Sunday mornings.) If it’s just 4 or fewer it won’t be too long of time before you’re seated. - Pictured below is the taco salad (which is always a good choice.) the other one was the media noche sandwich and fries. Enjoyable food and good atmosphere.

+1 star for being open on a Monday! We made a reservation at 8:15, but didn't need it. Lots of room. (They also have a back patio.) This place is great for parties of 1-4. I noticed the bar right away, small but attractive. We sat at a high table by a gas fire place. One word: COZY. We were so, so, SOO HUNGRY. We were in the right spot. For appetizer, we ordered the Flautitas ($8.95, three rolled and fried shredded chicken and pepper tacos with guac, sour cream, queso fresco, and salsa verde). YUM! Perfect for two people. If you are someone that loves a good amount of sauce with their appetizer, this one is for you. I ordered the Camaron tacos ($12.95, three shrimp tacos with cabbage, chipotle, pico de gallo, and cilantro). Not the best shrimp tacos I've had, but they were definitely tasty. I do wish the shrimp was marinated and grilled more. The tacos came with a small side of delicious mexican rice and refried beans. My husband ordered the Asada Fajitas ($20.95, juicy grilled steak with a heap of bell peppers and onions, with a side of guac, mexican rice, and refried beans). This seemed to be the popular dish of the night. So many people were ordering it. I thought that it seemed pricey for the amount of steak received. It was enough food for one person... if you wanted to split this dish, I guarantee you'd be fighting for the steak haha. It was still good. The service here is great! Our waters were always filled. All the employees helped each other out. I would love to come here for brunch.

This place never disappoints. The food is delicious, the service is fast, the servers are always courteous and the menu offers a little something for everyone. The chorizo and avocado omelette is a stand out but, honestly, you can't go wrong with ANYTHING. Breakfast, brunch, lunch or cocktails this place is THE spot.

Went recently for the first time. It wasn't great nor was it bad. How should I put it? I had a pleasant but bland experience. The music is overwhelmingly loud for my taste, but I can see that being a plus for many. We had the empanadas as a starter but the exterior was extra dry and hard. The rest of the meal was satisfactory. I don't plan in visiting any time soon.

My favorite and my go to place for weekend breakfasts...have tried many of their dishes and sandwiches and they're all amazing...and the cafe con leche (coffee with milk/creamer) is out of this world if you like a strong cup of coffee. Been going here since 2006/2007 or so and I have never come out disappointed. Place is clean and very nicely decorated as well. Staff is super friendly.

This place is a Logan Square Gem. If you decide to give it a shot(which you most definitely should ), make sure to ask for Stephanie, she is the best server at this place. I personally only go when I know that is working for sure(not that the other servers are not also good). The service, ambiance and food are great, but Stephanie makes the experience even better every time my boyfriend and I visit Cafe con Leche.

Food was good. The dessert even better. Loved the monkey bread w ice cream. It was delicious! The prices were modest and the portions generous. Pretty crowded on a Friday night. They won't sit your party unless all members are present. The place will make you a bit claustrophobic. My chair kept getting bumped by the person sitting behind me. I had a margarita, kinda disappointed that it wasn't frozen. There's only one male and one female bathroom (stall), so you will have to wait in line. Spacious free parking available!
