I ordered a Togo meal on the phone today. I was told it would be ready in 25 minutes. I showed up to get the food with my husband and he went in. Once inside, my husband was told that our order hadn't even been started. He came back out to the car where I was waiting with our kids and related the information to me. I went inside to find out how long it would be and talked to the same waitress who took the order over the phone. She walked past me three times before I managed to get her attention. Once I got her attention I asked how long she thought it would take and she was very rude. Then she went to the kitchen and came back out with the message "he said he is getting it together". I asked her what exactly that meant, was he getting it into boxes, getting it into the dryer or what? She basically yelled at me "i dont know". This was the tip of the iceberg for me. There were 4 tables full. The rest of the tables were empty. For the last 3 years everytime I have gone in, the service has gotten progressively worse. I will not be ordering from north hiway again.

Some food was really good. Other food like theFrench fries and vegetables were obviously frozen. The vegetables smelt old and partially expired. The vegetables were obviously also microwaved, because the dish and side vegetables were hot and the middle veggies were cold. French fries look and taste just like the fries you buy at the store when you don't want to worry about dinner and howthey eat it. The salad was good but looked bagged and not pre chopped or mixed that day. The floor was strewn with wrappers. Main dishes were pretty good. Get those and the mashed potatoes. Waitresses very helpful and sweet. Staff very hard working and accommodating. Food comes out in a timely manner.

It's the busiest hometown Cafe I have ever seen. Obviously a lot of returning patrons and the waitresses seem to know everybody by name. Service with a smile, good prices and good food. Oh, yeah... an AWESOME free meal the month of your birthday from 11am til close daily.

I've been going here off and on for over twenty years since I was 11. Standard American highway diner. Bottomless coffee is always a win. They make good sausage gravy and chicken fried steaks. The waitresses are awesome and no nonsense. This is a great place to go if you're looking to become a regular.

Literally the best food I’ve had in a long time. Great options, perfectly cooked food, super filling, and awesome staff. I wish I could go back! You will not leave this place disappointed. Pictured is the chicken fried steak (gravy underneath) with hash browns and sunny-side up eggs. Trust me - this is way more food than it looks like. So worth the price.

Okay, this place is 35+ years old and their clientele reflects that...as in I think they have had the same clients so long their clients tastebuds are dead and their vision is poor. The place is filthy and outdated. Uncomfortable seating, nasty carpet that's shredding and feels like a mobile home inside. Table condiments are dirty and sticky. The place needs a professional cleaning, just for starters. The carpet is flooded with stains and food and they mask it with air fresheners you will smell instantly! The service was slow...as in 32 minutes to get our food and they were not busy. We ordered their "special" rare beef with Aujus. The beef was more like warmed deli meat and flavorless. It had that metallic color reflection. There was nothing else on the sandwich. The bread was toasted and nothing special. The Aujus was watery and bland, pretty sure it was from a plastic jug. The fries were crispy but bland and the grease settled on the plate in the bread. The potato salad was almost soup and nothing great at all. It was typical , flooded with mayo, relish and nothing great. It also came with a side salad that was not good either. The lettuce was brown!! There was one beet slice and one pickle slice. There was some bagged type shredded cabbage and carrot also on the salad. The sandwiches were near 9 dollars and worthless. Dont bother going here. We always wanted to try it but the food is nasty and the room is loud with waitresses gossiping and complaining and the sound of oxygen equipment. And, when you pay with a card, you get charged fifty cents , but they don't tell you before hand. As a business owner, this is a bull policy.

Listen. Go to this place. And then order their version of a French dip sandwich. It was called something along the lines of the North Hi-Way rare beef sandwich or something. I don't know, but it was hands down the best one I've ever eaten. I'm hungry again. And if it wasn't 3 hours away I know what I'd be having for dinner. You're welcome ahead of time.

This place really is an old-fashion café. It is inexpensive, but good quality food. If you have a bit of time and want to enjoy a delicious dinner, this is the place to stop. The parking lot is not that great for finding somewhere to put your car while you eat, but once inside you will enjoy the funny joke boards while you away your home cooked meal. The restaurant is not very big and does not feel the cleanest, but it is clean. The waitresses are very friendly and attentive.

I took my family here because a kind neighbor gave us some gift certificates for the place. The food was okay. The service was exceptionally good! Unfortunately, the restaurant itself was dirty. It reminded me of a restaurant from the 80's (which is good if you're looking for nostalgia), but it appeared the carpet hadn't been replaced or cleaned in 30-40 years. I'm pretty sure if I drug a nail across the floor, there'd be a crater left behind. Like I said, the service was amazing. The people working there were fantastic. If they were to replace the carpet with laminate, keep the restaurant cleaner, and try some new recipes, this would be a 5 star joint!

Every time she interacted with us it seemed like we were the biggest inconvenience she had ever had. As a cafe, as good as any we have been in, in the last 40+ years. We have eaten here, off and on for the past 40 years. Currently, the quality, quantity and prices are equal to any where local. For a cup of coffee or a full meal, it's hard to beat. Parking and seating continue to be problematic, especially mornings through the lunch time. Waitresses are super.

Breakfast omlete was good and we shared it, so they added an extra Dollar to our bill. Not a huge problem, but they should have told us that when we ordered the food... The place was packed full and we had to wait for a table and then wait some more for the table to be wiped clean, while throwing the crumbs in our laps... The server was definitely overworked and was short tempered with us. Not sure if we will come back to this restaurant...
