The restaurant was packed because of Fiddle Week. There was only one table left. Polly served us and Craig was the cook. We got served right away. It didn't take long for Craig to cook it and Polly served us exactly what we ordered. It was very good food. We like Homestead. We go there often.

Really good and filling food. The price is really reasonable at ten to twelve dollars for lunch and a drink. The food taste homemade. Today I had the finger steaks very good, and yesterday the chilli burger that tastes like it is fresh made.

Normally great food, but this trip and the one last month, the salad bar was of much lesser quality. The dressing in the potato salad was runny. No sweet carrots like they've offered for years prior. Several macaroni salads that were so-so. The meat on the chicken fried steak tasted old and the country gravy appeared to be diluted. The sliced carrots that came with the dinner were dry and tasteless. Overall, the past two times we've eaten there, these were the cases. My Uncle and I have been going there for ten years and would like to see the problems corrected. On the positive side, the service was friendly and prompt.Thank you.

Awesome homestyle western food. I had an open face hamburger sandwich with country gravy and it was great. My spouse had a cheeseburger and it was done perfectly, beautiful grilled bun and steak fries that were golden brown. The pies were homemade delights! Great service and conversation too! Exactly the kind of place we search out and love to support. In a world of fast food, this is the of place that you want to thrive!

Half hour plus wait for a burger with tots. Sat in front of the little window deal and watched 3 or 4 plates of food sit for about 20min, while several employees walked by and saw it was there. Worse part, there is are most 3 tables seated right now. No excuse. If the employees have enough time to talk and bs with each other and this is the stuff going on, sounds like they need to replace some people.

The food was good. Classic greasy spoon style comfort food. I came for breakfast and got a small country fried steak special. It was very satisfying- came with two eggs, English muffin, and hash browns which were a little under done. The coffee was good, it was a drip style Folgers brand but after a week in the wilderness this place really hit the spot.

Best smoked beef brisket I have EVER had. Their steak fries were also amazing. All of the beef they use is locally raised and processed which is really cool. I wish I could have stayed longer because their prime rib sounded incredible. Did I mention that their prices are surprisingly low? I love this place. I will most certainly be coming back!!!

Wow, it's like I used to remember it. We had a few bad meals there and gave up on it a few years ago, but we ate there again today, and it was great! Veggie omelet was light and delicious, and that cinnamon roll was homemade. And our server was sweet.

The service is super slow , it took 45 min from the time we ordered to get our food. The meat tasted old or freezer burnt. We had to ask for more coffee and water as they walked by apparently they did not notice our cup were empty. We will never go back!

I understand they were busy, but we were there over an hour and were never checked on. I had to go ask for water and my friend had to ask for a Pepsi refill. When the food came after 50 minutes, it was not fresh. The sandwich was soggy, fries were cold, the chicken on the salad was barely warm and the salad was warm, as if they had been plated and sat for a while. We were not checked on during the meal and finally went up front to pay. My daughters are servers, so I understand about getting a rush and such. If we had been checked on, I would have given more stars.

The food was good but we called ahead of time and they didnt reserve a table the size we needed like they said they would. The waitress forgot one plate, messed up orders and couldn't rememeber requests for condiments and sides at all. Bathrooms are locked by rudimentary manual sliding locks from the inside and my poor Grandfather who has dementia managed to lock himself in but could not get out and the door almost got kicked in before he figured out how to unlock the door.. but like I said, the food was really good. Only saving grace..

Rude waitress, greasy food, and more expensive than some other places in town. Used to get chicken strip basket with 4 strips, tater tots and Texas toast for $6.95. Now you get only 3 strips and the cost is $8.50. Fries are greasy and limp.

The food was bland but the servings were enormous! The staff was polite and attentive but their friends came in and spoke loudly about their life drama. The blinds and lights were filthy and I had to wipe the crumbs off my table. Prices were fantastic.

I've been going to the Homestead Cafe for years. Change in owner/operator. It's a bit different attitude. Different wait staff. Service was good. Menu seems the same. Those potatoes is served with chunky potatoes rather than hashbrowns. Everyone was very helpful and accomodating.

This restaurant was recommended by the owner of the State Street Motel and she did not steer me wrong. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was well prepared, fresh, and there was plenty of it. There was no wait time to be seated as it's a casual seat yourself place. Very pleasant experience.
