Nick Beane

The iced coffee was fantastic.

Jess Kerns

Great place for coffee & food! Staff is friendly as well! Only downside (which really isn't one) is the size. This place is not meant for huge parties but instead a good traditional coffee house!

jim conrad

Great homemade chicken noodle soup, coffee and friendly sit-awhile atmosphere.

Okay food. So-so service. I hear the eggs benedict are great though. If you're considering the Fogglifter Cafe, please read this cautionary tale: This story begins on the morning of my very first and long-awaited trip to McCall, ID. I, along with my new bride and her family (who have been coming to McCall for decades), went to try the Fogglifter Cafe for the first time. With wide-eyed excitement I ordered my very first McCall meal - a Denver scramble. When my plate arrived, I was disappointed to find that the hash browns were nowhere to be seen. I pointed this out to the waiter and, rather than sparing the slightest bit of sympathy or understanding, which would have been enough to turn my frown upside down, he retorted "that's just how it comes, we're serving it with fruit." I was certain, however, that the menu mentioned that hash browns were included with my meal. Anyone who appreciates a good breakfast knows that fruit doesn't hold a candle to hash browns, not in a million years. Not being one to cause a scene over missing potatoes, I let the matter go and ate what ended up being a mediocre breakfast. I left the corner spot unsatisfied, but willing to forget. I was about to enjoy my first day in beautiful McCall, after all, and no breakfast, no matter how disappointing, could faze me. A few days later we were headed to the Fogglifter for breakfast yet again. I wasn't thrilled, but I was ready to give the establishment a shot at redemption. At best I would be able to squash my beef with the cafe and enjoy the delicious taste of fried potatoes my heart yearned for. At the very least I would be able to solve the case of the missing hash browns once and for all. Upon arrival I inspected the menu description for the Denver scramble. Sure enough, the fated words were there: "hash browns." On my first visit I had been promised delicious hash browns and that promise was unfulfilled. This time around I was going to be more vigilant in my quest for the fried potatoes, so at the register I inquired about ordering a side of hash browns for this morning's meal. I was brashly told that the menu was outdated and hash browns hadn't been served for some time. Can you appreciate the irony of this scenario? Here I was in the great state of Idaho, the very Mecca of the potato world, and yet I couldn't get a plate of hash browns. This cafe was a disgrace to the entire Gem State indeed. Shocked, I searched the menu for a plan B. This misleading menu, mind you, was printed on a plain old 8.5" by 11" sheet of paper that was folded into thirds. I guess it was too much effort for them to get on Microsoft Word and print a new hash brown-free version. Frustrated, I ordered what I can only hope will be my last meal here - sausage, eggs, and wheat toast. The toast and eggs were fine, but the sausage was a pity. One measly sausage patty that looked like it had been taken from a Jimmy Dean box and tossed into the microwave. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Jimmy Dean, but for $3 I expected more than a single, shameful processed patty, but that was my own fault. Whether you venture to the Fogglifter Cafe in search of the satisfying, savory warmth of hash browns, a hearty breakfast, or exceptional service - be warned. You'll find none of these here.

The coffee is delicious, and the breakfast burrito was very tasty. The portions are just a little small if you're looking for a substantial breakfast.

Nate Nutting

N icole

Super friendly staff, and delicious food!

Bonnie Johnson

Great Food and coffee with a smile

Barry Snyder

Great waffles, wonderful service . A little pricey except it is in Boise, where parking on meters is $3 an hour...in fact most everything here is higher than giraffe ball.

Adam Lynndzie Hayes

If your a big city coffee snob and only eat beans and lentils and fancy frills and poached eggs with your beans then this place is for you. Its a bit over my budget for fancy breakfast burritos and poached eggs with your beans and lentils....but to each their own.

Tracy Ferrell

Nice service. Food just okay.

Liz Grasty

This little cafe is always a must stop for me when traveling through McCall. The coffee is quick, easy, and delicious - and the breakfast burrito is spot on!

Antje Brown

Excellent little cafe. Delicious coffee and food. Very relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff. The eggs Benedict are the best I’ve EVER had. The sauce is light and lemony (as it should be!) I got the half order the first time and it is definitely for small appetites. We came back the second day and I got the full order (tempted to get two full orders it was so dang good!) If you’re a Benedict fan you HAVE to have it. You can thank me later.

Jimmy Smith

Nice place. Limited menu.

Kelly Holstrom

It's a cute cafe. The food and coffee are nothing special, but still satisfying. Would recommend if you need breakfast in Mccall.

Kristin Cole

Quaint and cozy little place for a cup of coffee or hot chocolate on a chilly McCall morning. Perfect place to enjoy good conversation and friends. Great service and the hot chocolate was tasty!

Logan Smith

Such a cute place to stop in McCall! Delicious breakfast and lunch options. Both times I have gone the line has been out the door. They have outdoor and indoor seating. Order at the counter and hopefully there is a spot to sit!

Jaime Christensen

Really fast great service. I ordered a iced chai tea which was fantastic and eggs Benedict which was also really good my only problem which isn't even much of a problem was that i asked for my eggs to be hard cooked and one was still slightly runny in the middle. Very tasty food.

Patrick Weston

Great breakfast and coffee. Great kids menu.

Meghan Lightfoot

Best Eggs Benedict I've ever had and the service is warm and friendly. Super cozy atmosphere. Love the Fogglifter!

c. lynn baker

Great food and coffee. Awesome breakfast burritoes, but my favorite is the Eggs Benedict. Atmostsphere is very nice.

Brooke Henson

Good location and coffee. Their hours on here need to be updated, however... And when you drive 22 minutes to get a coffee and find out they're closed... You get annoyed that they don't monitor their online presence. Call before you go! Hard to see in photo but it says 7 am-2pm for kitchen, 7am-4pm for cafe.

RJ Keating

Flavorful French roast coffee, and the Bob's Benedict w/ bacon and avocado was a big win.

Tessa Baerlocher

Amazing place for breakfast and coffee. It is a must stop for us on every visit to McCall!!

Marcus Martinez

Pretty decent food and drinks in a cozy atmosphere, they also have outdoor seating for nice days.

Absolutely amazing food, But early bird gets the worm. They tend to sell out pretty fast on their menu items.

Jared Carrano

Rick York

Good place to stop in McCall if it's not too busy. Breakfast burritos are worth the money. The coffee is consistently good and so is the service.

Jose Pedraza

Great healthier options

Connor Wool

Delicious breakfast burritos, and tasty coffee! I was able to sit at a table next to a giant window and look out at the sunshine falling on the lake as I ate, it was an overall excellent experience.

Lisa Ray

Good food to long of a wait on the food

B P

Amazing coffee, phenomenal food and a great staff make this place one of my favorites in McCall.

Kasey B

5 stars for the best mocha and white mocha I have ever had. Stay away from anything with eggs in it, unless you like the flavor of eggs from a carton.

Marie Dymkoski

Great coffee! Small batch roaster.... service was spectacular with the young man behind the counter smiling and very helpful. I'll stop in again when I pass through!

Bradley Beaman

Small and cozy with great food and people!

Eric Thies

Great place for coffee and food. Although, I'm a big guy so their portions are a touch small for me.

Kellie Gosselin

How have I never tried this place!! YUM and what a great atmosphere!!

Randall Shackelford

Over priced for "order at the counter" and food quality and our order was wrong. The coffee was so bad you could of used it to strip paint off a battle ship. The only reason I gave it one star is the people were friendly, other than that I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Kirstyn Bowers

Fast service but very mediocre coffee. Got a black and white and you couldn't even taste a hint of espresso in it (if they used any at all).

Amanda Hamell

Stopped in for coffee and hot chocolate. Both were very good. Was very busy on a Sunday morning. Only two seats left on the couch in the back. A group of men were in the corner playing some music. Was very enjoyable to listen to them while we had our drinks. I was really happy they had a baby changing table most places this small do not.

Annie Harmon

You cannae pass by this little gem and not stop in for a wee bit. Its always a pleasure here with outstanding coffee, small plate menu items, and custom goodies and refreshments. It's a small town gem so stop in, see for yourself they would welcome you also. My son used to work here so I may be a tad partial due to the VIP treatment I always receive but it's well worth a visit for yersel... happy travels people

Penny Hernandez

Jonathan Prior

Good coffee, but seemed very cluttered and disorganized

Anne Kuhlmeier

Favorite breakfast spot

Shane Dittrich

Great food and a friendly staff

Hassan Basagic

Great drip coffee. I enjoyed my veggie breakfast burrito. Friendly service.

Brian Avila

Great place in McCall, one of the better restaurants honestly. Not much in the way of Gluten Free options, but they have the basics, gluten free bread and corn tortillas.

Sara Segura

This place has decent espresso drinks and local baked goods. It's probably the best coffee shop in town and I would go again if I was in McCall, although the cappuccino I got was definitely burned. They offer good food as well. Five stars for better cappuccinos and friendlier service, as we had a bad experience with an impatient cashier on my last visit.

Black Thunder

get that Payette Huevos Rancheras

Paige Stinebaugh

This place was great or my boyfriend to do some office work while we were on vacation. They sandwiches were prepared with everything made from scratch. They have great coffees and fast wi-fi.

Bustling cafe with surprisingly large menu selection and tasty coffee. Kids menu, highchairs and books/games to entertain the little ones. Great place to people watch in downtown McCall!

travis pauley

Fun little place to stop in the morning for coffe and a small breakfast.

Sam B

Always a great spot to get coffee in McCall. Lots of seating options, from the beautiful patio to the tables and comfy couches and chairs inside. Excellent breakfast burritos, good coffee, awesome pastries. Can't go to McCall without going to Fogglifter.

Zach Ohlinger

Staff is friendly, food is good, really small inside though without a lot of seating.

Whitney Gogue

It's really small and cramped and it just really wasn't my style however if you like the tiny coffee shop feel then go there. And it was kind of expensive too. Food was good but I wouldn't really go here again. They're always pretty busy though so they must be doing something right.

Andy Sims

Food was awesome and friendly people! Highly recommend. One of our best stops so far in this trip!

CUCUXXA JORDAN

Good pastry

E.P. McDonough

Cinnamon Rolls and BACON right in the heart of McCall. Or, try the Eggs Benedict. Lots of great menu items. Italian Sodas and coffees as well.

Liz Foley

Great breakfast or lunch spot with reasonable prices. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a nice patio but be prepared for some traffic noise as the patio sits next to a main intersection. The dining area inside is small but we never had a problem finding a table. Their huevos rancheros breakfast was superb.

The Lifter is the BEST PLACE IN McCALL for coffee, comingling, and canoodling. All the CCCOOL, CCCOURAGEOUS, and CCCONSCIENTIOUS McCallian cohabitants congregate at the Lifter!!! [My BFF Terry later texted me: "I see that alittlealliteration is on the menu!" Yes indeed!! Alliteration is my second-favorite literary device. Hyperbole is NUMERO UNO!!] ================== ***SIDEBAR*** ON A SERIOUS AND TRAGIC NOTE, my best friend Terry just texted me (Wed., 10/2/2019, 11:39 am MDT) the following: "Check your email right away!! When I checked my email, I found the following: "My brother’s B-17 just crashed and burned at an airport." Further: "...I just spoke with my brother and it is a disaster of major proportions although they are still learning the details on the ground. The last time you and I saw it was as we were leaving the transition party at the Davis’s and were walking out the door. It flew directly over us. I’ll provide more info as I learn it." When I called Terry, he informed me that Bob's vintage B17 bomber (aka, "The Flying Fortress," owned by the Collings Foundation, Stowe, MA) just crashed at an airport in Connecticut!!! He also included a link to a video from an international, non-fake news agency. Details to follow... NOTE: How sadly ironic that I learned of this tragedy while relaxing at the aviation-themed Lifter. ***END SIDEBAR*** ================== So every day I arrive at the Lifter between 9 and 10:30. I always order the same thing: a cup of coffee for $2.50. I give a generous tip of 40%, bringing the total to 3-bucks-fifty. If it's available, the cashier provides my favorite striped mug. But today, I was provided the "Solar Eclipse" mug, which states: "Advice from a SOLAR ECLIPSE Lighten up!" And on the reverse: "See the total picture Be moved by beauty Live in the moment Celebrate nature's cycles Don't be afraid of the dark Be naturally phenomenal" How AWESOME is that??? To be continued.... NOTE: The contents of this review may be used, in whole or in part, in my new book, "Life on the Road: My Journey Through Idaho, Montana, and Washington State." [10/12/19]

Carla Gardiner

Hot coffee, good prices, friendly staff

Scott Walker

Best Eggs Benedict in Idaho.

Ellen

My family and I enjoy a meal at Fogglifter everytime we are in McCall. Great food, great coffee, and the comfortable, clean, welcoming courtyard and interior create a winning combination.

Sierra Atten-ash

Decent breakfast place. Breakfast burritos, eggs Benedict, hash browns, smoothies, coffee, all the meats available. If you get a side of wheat toast be aware it's only one slice. Bus your own table.

T-Jay Clevenger

A nice place to have breakfast and coffee

Beth M

Good food, decent price

Jose DeSousa

Great little coffee house to sit down and enjoy a conversation with the locals, also outstanding breakfast or lunch.

Mariah Morris

Busy, not enough seating. Food is ok, didn't like the coffee. The cashier was very friendly. You bus the tables yourselves.

Andy Steider

Mmmmmmm. Nothing like fake eggs to start your day. Service was fantastic however. And coffee was made perfectly.

KJW

Great food. Great staff.

Gretta Wheaton

It has great coffee and food.

Toma Bartlett

We visited this place two days in a row. The first night had live entertainment and a very fun crowd. The second night had a DJ and it took quite awhile for the DJ to start playing music that everybody liked rather than herself. Staff is extremely friendly and this place is always worth a visit while in McCall

Dejan Nenov

Or favorite place for breakfast in McCall.

Maria L Lopez Garcia

Great variety and nice service

Angela Eileen

Wonderful food and great coffee

NEOK

The breakfast menu is limited, but so much is written on the chalk boards it's a little difficult to read. They take your order and money at the registerand and bring your food. After that it's all self service including getting your coffee and a sign indicating where to put your dirty dishes. Want a coffee refill you get your own. Prices seem high for self service. Makes me wonder what they have the tip jar for.

Mike Schindler

Love this place. Good lattes and breakfast foods.

Rupali Kumar

Great breakfast menu...

Kerry Albright

Awesome coffee house in downtown McCall

Mike McCoy

Very nice. Clean, excellent service.

Anna Reid

Was looking for a little coffee & breakfast before the long drive today & this place hit the spot! Ordered a mocha & "fogger burrito". Coffee was great & the burrito was absolutley delicious! My husband had the eggs Benedict & it was also delicious. Defintley a must stop again! Only recommendation for them would be to clean up the walls a bit, were a little dirty & beat up. Thanks guys!

JMANSWAT

Best coffee in town, with great breakfast and lunch menu type foods. Dog friendly!

Olivia Lund

Awesome food

Tabitha Maxwell

I LOVE this place!! I grew up just 30 miles away, and EVERY time I pass through McCall, I have to stop and get a Fogglifter breakfast burrito. I have yet to find a breakfast burrito that is comparable to the one here. The combination of scrambled eggs, beans, ham, salsa, and everything else instead the burrito is just heavenly. I seriously cannot express how much I love their burritos.. I also like to get an almond milk hot cocoa here, it's a great thick hot chocolate that is perfect for crisp fall days. They have outdoor seating that is great to sit and casually enjoy breakfast. I will note that this is not a particularly quick restaurant with regards to food, but trust me, it's worth the wait!!

Undercoverloris Vandrake

Great place, love their coffee and their breakfasts. I try and go in once at least week

Michael Lindemann

Great food, great coffee, and friendly service. Highly recommend!

Dean Williams

Lattes were great. Bfast excellent. Bacon avocado Benedict so good. Wife had poached eggs and bacon. She had to send eggs poached med well back because they were very runny. The guy seemed a little bent when she complained. Atmosphere very nice. Staff very friendly.

Great place to eat great food and meet nice people.

Karen Fox
