Live this place. The steak and eggs are my favorite, especially with the plate pancake.
Friendly wait staff and a fun place to have breakfast.
Great food and warm friend wait service. Locally Owned
The food was average, so was the service. Sorry folks. Wish I could give a better recomendation.
Great service 4/5 on the food, friendly and fun
Okay food for reasonable prices.
Great food old timers go there and it's funny we fit right I. These days.
Great food. AWESOME service. Price good.. Atmosphere A1. Will go again & again
Always good food.
Very good home-cooked type food ... awesome service
Home style 50's Cafe
Just average food for higher prices.
I ordered chicken salad wrap and it was actually delicious. Very friendly hard working people
Really good for a small town Cafe Atmosphere was fun waitresses were friendly
Good food, good people. Fun times. This is my first trip to Ed's cafe and I will return.
The food was really great but the service was about average. Not rude or anything but more stand offish. We did come when they were pretty busy so the rush could have effected demeanor. I had the steak and eggs with fries instead of hash browns and my girlfriend had an omelette with mushrooms and cheese. The toast was just average and they had the standard packaged jam to put them on.
This place hits all the bells and whistles...a must goto
I was very happy with the service and the food was delicious. I will definitely be going back thanks for the great service and breakfast.
Great food and fun waitress!
What a neat restaurant. Service was great. The decor was awesome. Price were good.
Food is great. The environment is just what you would expect with a cafe like this. The staff is friendly and communicates clearly.
Great place for a Saturday morning breakfast. Usually a wait, get there a little early because it's worth it
Great food and great value. Service is superb. Simple but delicious 50's favorites, take a step back in time for a couple of hours. Enjoy your else's.
Quick and friendly service. Delicious food! Cute atmosphere.
Very friendly people with great food!
Great food excellent service
Don't even bother. The prices are outrageous, food is mediocre, menu's limited, and the "50s" decore is just a dozen tacky posters of Marylin and Elvis.
Food and service is good, moderate pricing. Fun ambiance (my granddaughter asked about the records on the wall. I told her that was the YouTube when we were her age).
Great staff, good food wonderful atmosphere
Great breakfast, service, and competitive prices. This was my first visit and will be back!
Their food is always delicious and its family owned.
Great service coffee cup kept full nice atmosphere. Love all the old car pictures.
Good food nice people and great service
Great food. Friendly service.
If you like Marilyn Monroe decor and the staples of diner food, this is the place. The staff are friendly, the place is clean, and the menu is simple. Just the right amount for breakfast and lunch, and all for a decent price.
For some odd reason had a business meeting here for a large group, it was OK. They took good care of all of us, took our orders on time, gave us drinks, fed us well with good breakfast food. Cheap and good. 13+ people, $125 for all of us.
Felt like a bait and switch. Restaurant prices are double that of those on website. Food was mediocre and not worthy of $10 for pancake (1), 2 eggs, and overdone bacon (2 strips). If you want to sub French toast you need to pay full price for French toast AND the dish you wish to add it to. Not really a substitution. Menu reads “an upcharge”, but does not provide a specific price. Wait staff hovers a bit to move your visit along, but are kind, at 9:30 there was no wait (wonder why?), and awesome with coffee refills. Recommend Sunrise Cafe in Meridian (2 locations) and Eddie’s Diner in Boise off Overland Road. Good food, great prices, good wait staff. Busy on weekends of course so be strategic if you don’t want to wait.
Usually always stop by once when getting into town. Nice feel, good breakfast, and catch up with friends.
Super friendly staff, coffee was refilled often. The food was good at best. Chicken fried steak was a grenade frozen one, sausage links were overly fatty. Not sure those are their famous for dishes but not certain I will go back.
Really solid and good traditional breakfast. Service was outstanding.
Great food, excellent service. Loved the atmosphere.
Great old fashion Cafe. Simple but good food.
Went here for lunch, tried sample of gravy and it had a slimy texture to it and not good. I asked to try sample of tuna for their special and they couldn’t give me sample so I ended up getting the sloppy joe special. Sloppy joe was very dry and not much flavor. My wife ended up getting tuna special and it was gross! She barely ate half of her sandwich before telling me how bad it was. I sent back my meal and decided not to eat anything. My wife should have done the same thing, we were excited to try this cafe and it let us down big time! Spent $11 on a tuna sandwich that frankly tasted and looked liked cat food.
Great food and excellent service
Fun place with great food!
Awesome food and service
An excellent retro environment. Old style hamburgers, breakfast menu and coffee, salads and soups too. Open for breakfast and lunch.
I absolutely loved this place. I went here after a failed trip to Eagle Island during one of Boise's grand rain torrents and this diner cheered me right up! The food was amazing - seriously, the plate-sized pancake is a wonder. So so good! The coffee was great, and staff was sweet and filled coffee cups promptly. And plus, the walls are decorated with great '50s everything! Marilyn Monroe portraits, Elvis, records everywhere. So fun. It's a pretty small restaurant, but worth it in the authentic '50s vibe. I'll definitely return.
They are open 7 days a week and only mornings- early afternoon. Location is excellent! It's right next to the McDonalds on Meridian Rd., in front of Winco and right off the Freeway. Inside is classically decorated with cars and more vintage 50's theme items such as the iconic Marilyn Monroe. I ordered the chopped salad and my partner ordered an omelet. The food, to both of us, was meh-- just ok-- nothing to write home about. The staff was friendly, and it appeared that they have been there a long time because they had a bunch of regulars that walked in the door. It's worth a stop by-- especially if you're into vintage cars and 50's theme.According to the Yelp photos-- their take on the classic milk shake looks pretty good!
Great food and atmosphere. The service is awesome and the cooks are great at what they do the food tastes amazingly good.
Great, reasonably priced breakfast. Hashbrowns perfect. Service sxcellent!
Good food an GREAT ATMOSPHERE Especially like Elvis and Marilyn Monroe corner
Great people and food
I asked for soup and salad. They don't have that combo on their menu, the waitress had a difficult time with my request. At the end the cheese broccoli soup and the salad were so unappetizing that I did not eat them. I will not go back.
not bad but the lunch special I had was just fair. I will give them another chance.
Very pleasant wait staff and good food
The overall experience was good, food was good and our waitress Candice was top notch
It is an old style cafe with pictures of classical celebrities all over the walls. The food was pretty good and the staff super friendly.
Food was good and our waitress was friendly. Prices on the menu appeared reasonable unless you add cheese or gravy, big up charge.
Great food good prices
Good food friendly staff. Ty for great experience.
Great food friendly staff
This place is all around amazing!
Friendly, good food and reasonable
Food is ok. Nothing special. Breakfast are better then rest of meals
For the price the food wasn't all that great. No senior or veterans discount.
Fries were really good
I actually work there the food is good and very pleasant servers
Ed's 50's Cafe is awesome. Great service and amazing food!!
Wonderful place to have breakfast and lunch just like the old time Cafe ...
amazing, every since i first went there i have fallen in love with their food, they are perfect for a quick but hearty meal.
Great food, atmosphere and service. 50's style decor with great pics of vintage and muscle cars.
This is the best place I was very comfortable there. The food and service was terrific.
They've been hosting my church group here for years. Caring and kind, the staff here is wonderful. A true Meridian business.
Food was great service was ok. Food was pricey server charged us the wrong price soup came after main course was eaten. Talked to manager no satisfaction.
Great food and people.
Great service and good food. Overall value is one of the best around.
Food was great. Service was great. Prices were great
Great food, large portions and great prices!
Cool little cafe and good food
Always delicious food... Friendly staff...
Hands down the best chicken fried steak. It is so moist. I've always had great food from here. Friendly staff too
This is the best place in town for breakfast, lunch their prices are amazing! And the food is very very good!
Excellent breakfast, and quantity of food...great waitress and owner Cindy is warm and friendly...great place ! 50's decor is good too.
Good food and atmosphere.
High prices, low quality. Chicken burger was nearly $10, but the piece of chicken was so small it only was on half the bun. Said Swiss cheese, but it was cheep no taste American cheese. Fries were frozen, breaded and barely warm.
Expected homemade, definitely was not... burger with side salad was 9.95, salad was like she reached in a premade bag and tossed it on the plate, ranch was bottled unfortunately. Burgers appeared to be premade frozen patties, chili on burger was a generic canned chili. Onion rings were the best part of my lunch and they weren't great... waitress barely spoke to us. We were very disappointed. In no hurry to go back for sure.
Family friendly delicious eatery!! They remember your name and that's incredible
Food was actually pretty good as was the service and very timely but I would think so as it was a quiet Sunday morning. My only issue was the environment as it is quite apparent that some love needs to go back into it. Just from my seat, I spotted at least 7 unclean and put off visuals that just made me not want to be there and question the cleanliness of the operation. We would come back as the food was good But the inside just needs a sprucing up with a couple hundred bucks and a few hours and I think it would make quite a difference. Am I reading the menu wrong or is it coming across that two eggs are $7.25.
Fantastic food and very friendly service. It's usually busy but worth the wait.
Greeted right away, seated right away, food was exactly as ordered with a short wait, even though the place was busy. Excellent dining experience.
Ed’s 50’s Cafe is my perfect breakfast joint. The coffee is hot and the food is honest, delicious, consistent and comforting. To sum it up in one word, I’d have to say Ed’s 50’s Cafe is Splendid. Another reason I love this place is the wait staff. Delora and all the girls treat you as family. To me, their customer service is top notch! Stop by for a visit and you’ll be hooked. Keep up the good work girls!
Great service as well as great food
Good, ample portions, but lacking "excitement" in the flavor category.
Great service, food, and atmosphere! I would drive all the way back from Jackson Hole, Wy (6 hours) just for another visit!!!
Great staff and the flat iron steak n eggs is to die for
The good was great! The fries are close to the best I have ever had.
Good food and service
Place is old...but decorated with old pictures of cars and trucks. Staff is friendly. Food is average breakfast fare. A waffle, two eggs and two bacon for 10.75 is too expensive. That would be $8 anywhere else. Because of the price and average food, we won't be back. However in a pinch this would be a decent place. Saying all that...other people might have better experiences so give them a try and make your own decision. Oh and coffee is decent.
LOVE'S THIS PLACE NICE N Friendly's GOOD FOOD TRY IT MY FRIEND'S
Delicious food, chili was awesome and the chicken special was enjoyed by my wife and daughter.
Very good food, super friendly staff. Quick service & on top of everything.
Great little diner, good burgers, comfort food, breakfast and their onion rings are superb. Price are reasonable and portions are good. The staff is competent and friendly and they get a bunch of regulars which says a lot about the place.
It was good. A little less grease for the frys. Waitress was good.
Honestly, it was terrible! The eggs and hash browns were ice cold like they made them first and they sat there getting COLD while they slapped together a sausage patty and then when I complained they stuck some hash browns in the microwave and rushed them out ! Small portions as well ! Toast didn't even come until I was about a third the way done eating and they weren't even busy !!! More than a couple of waitresses also ! No excuses!! Watered down coffee as well ! Then when I got my check I said are you kidding me !??! $12.00 down the drain and I was still hungry !! They have Marilyn Monroe and James Dean pictures all over the walls ! That's what you're paying for ,to look at those sad old pictures ! Should be shut down in a few months I would think !! Don't waste your time or money here ! When I brought it to the manager's attention she said I'm sorry and couldn't even look me in the eye and walked away !! Shame on them !!!
Huge pancake, great prices, delicious everything, friendly service,. I love it!
Good service. Good price. Average food. Not bad, just your average breakfast fare.
The staff is friendly, the service is good (not great), but the food is delicious. The atmosphere is fun and casual, I'll definitely be back.
Busy, trying to close but people kept coming in. They are very nice and food is good. You get your meal pretty fast
Very 50's style looking Cafe, great friendly staff, even the owner likes to serve her customers, neat place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch, along with reasonbly prices.

Great simple food fast and very friendly service. Perfect place for me.
Great small town hospitality, best breakfast around.
Small place, the food, service and prices are great.
Great food, great service.
Great food, great people, great prices.
I am on the keto diet, so sometimes I have to explain things to servers about what I can eat. The waitress I had here was very accommodating and seemed to even know stuff about the keto diet. I had a delicious steak and eggs and I was very happy.
Nice diner experience. Great service. Interesting menu, I had the Sloppy Joe sandwich and it was excellent! They are only open for breakfast and lunch.
Pretty good place. First time I have been there. Food was quick, well priced.
Food was ok. I ordered a turkey sandwich and it was just the same lunch meat I can get at Winco. Soup was decent. Milkshake was amazing!
