Not just a great coffee shop but also starting to have amazing rock shows! Worth attending! Dudes who work at the Long Ear work here too so the hook up is nice.

Leah Foley

Just needed a quick morning snack and I tried the premium oatmeal and it was delicious! Friendly service.

Tom Richards

I don't drink coffee so I can't judge their main product but great atmosphere and a nice place to hang out.

susan walker

I love working at Calypsos...

Amanda Cosoi

Amazing! One of the best lattes I've ever had, and the staff is helpful and friendly. I could see myself spending a lot of time here.

Brittany C

Super chill & modern. Great balance of sweet in the hot chocolate.

Gerald Sullivan

Good place with breakfast, other food items as well as coffee drinks. Lots of room to sit and talk with multiple sofas and several tables. It's close to the CDA downtown area and is walking distance from most locations.

Stimmothy Byrs

That Noah character is definitely an A+ dude and great server. I'm not just saying that because I play DnD most Thursdays with him

Desirae Roberts

My ultimate fav place for coffee. I love the monday open mic nights. Delicious coffee and beautiful art for sale on the walls. Definitely need to figure out a parking situation tho

Cheyenne Miller

Hey! You! Random tourist thinking of going to Starbucks for coffee. My advice? Don't. As a 12 year resident of CDA, as well as an avid coffee lover, I can say with great confidence that Calypsos is the best coffee shop in CDA. Spectacular service, delicious beverages, and a hyggeligt environment unlike any other, Calypsos is not just a coffee shop, but an experience. You feel like you've entered an old friend's home, and you are treated with the same warmth and generosity that would fit this environment. While the menu may appear simple at first glance, the baristas are seriously awesome at helping you find the perfect drink. Some of my favorites include the dirty chai with salted caramel, the Ursa Minor (latte w/ honey and spices) the blackberry mocha, the London Fog (steamed earl grey latte), and an eggnog with peppermint. But, honestly, any drink will work in your favor.

Cecil D'souza

Cozy place to sit down and have a coffee with good friends. The guy barista that helped us is easy on the eyes. Haha.

Randy

Americano was good, Wifi was strong so I liked the place. With that said, the place seems to want to be a lot of things and well, that's OK. Old worn out furniture for a 'home-like' feel? Work/meeting room space, kid play corner, game boards, etc. Happy to spend a few hours here. Wish them the best of new ideas and old.

Michael Green

Best Coffeehouse on CDA Great People and a great place to Meet Clients or friends.

Emily Branch

I have been going to Calypsos for the past 5 years and am always pleased by their service. They have recently added a delicious menu that is not too pricey for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and there coffee is always delectable. Located a block up from the city beach it is a great place to stop by to cool off after a long day in the sun with an iced drink or ice cream cone (yes, they serve ice cream too!). In the winter it is also nice and cozy and a great place to meet up with friends, have a business meeting in the conference room, or work on paperwork. There are music performances often and open mic every week. So stop in and check it out!

John Benteu

Great little cafe. I was visiting a tattoo expo in the area, and we stopped here for some coffee. The coffee was great, the food looked delicious, the place was clean, and the employees were super friendly.

Ghazal M

I love this place and highly recommend it. The coffee is amazing and the space is super cute.

Linda Jo Park

Delicious coffee, friendly staff.

alexDuck96

Meh. Kinda stuck up for okay espresso

Jason Kariotis

Awesome location to rest and recharge.

stacy molitor

Great mocha frappe, casual atmosphere

John Nicoll

Just read Ginger Walkers review. Very surprising as I too have been coming to this fine establishment for a while. I have ALWAYS received excellent & friendly service with both the new and old owners. The guy she mentions has always been mild mannered and courteous every time I've been in and was very surprised at Ms. Walkers comments. It actually smacks of PDES- possible disgruntled employee syndrome. I do see a couple of new faces in there & it looks as if there is new management/owners but the vibe is still strong, service is still great & the food is actually more varied but still good. Would recommend this place to anyone.

John N.

I definitely recommend this venue for casual meetings with friends or business partners. They have a conference room that you can rent for minimal cost in a great environment. The quality of coffee and customer service is certainly an added bonus!

Thomas Boever

Great service plus friendly people.

nate males

This is a neat little find but I don't concur with the raves. If you're from a small town, this might seem like the coolest thing since sliced bread however, the eclectic style with local art is not unique. In fact it's all over the Pacific NW. The coffee is decent but really not worth the price and the food is just okay. All of our food came out overdone. Overall, I'd stop by again if I was in the area but I wouldn't take detour to stop by.

hippie dave

A favorite spot for coffee and conversation...artsy and comfortable, with great coffee and skilled baristas, and a pleasant atmosphere

John Mueller

Friendly staff, relaxed environment, wifi

Ryan Hendrix

Better hangout than most coffee shops. Comfortable and interesting interior. Staff is professional and the coffee meets the standard.

Jeremy Rodriguez

Great coffee! Some of the best I've had

Jamie Huff

Lots of room to sit, friendly staff, good food with gluten free bread as an option. They roast their own coffee! A great variety of artists work. We really enjoyed stopping here.

Emily Hintzman

Great ambiance. Friendly service. Cozy but not small.

Vanessa Stone

Love the atmosphere. But the manager is very rude to customers. Not sure if she’s just having a bad day or what but it’s not cool.

Debi Miller

Todd and Maria are awesome! The staff are wonderful! They are very accommodating and let our special needs day camp come and sing karaoke! Very special place, that loves their community!

j worley

Great coffee, even better service and staff. Very inviting environment.

Tomi Maynard

This place has such a wonderful atmosphere, and great coffee! One of my favorite places to just catch up with friends. Very private but still open. All around great.

Theodora Letz

Cozy place for a coffee and dessert or simple lunch or brunch fare. I love the furnishing with couches and a mixture of smaller dining tables. There is also a counter against the far wall suitable to hang out with a laptop/once you've been granted their WiFi password.

Dean Lee

Fun place

Gordon Fitzwater

Love this place, great coffee and the staff excellent.

Ruth Zaharek

Delicious coffee and yummy breakfast! And the atmosphere is fantastic. Love sitting on a sofa while I'm enjoying my breakfast. Such a cute place!

Francis Cabaluna

Nice little spot to get some coffee and snacks.

Jenna Andersen

Loved my white coffee with sugar free white chocolate and sugar free caramel. Delicious! Wish it didn't cost me over $6 for 24 ounces of goodness but such is the economy these days. Then really appreciated the large spacious room with the big table since no one else had showed that reserved it so my friend and I could dig into my computer work we wanted to work on. Good Wi-Fi. I like the good music they had playing which wasn't too loud in the room we were in. If you wanted to reserve that room for more than 4 people 2 hours is $30 so not bad for a meeting space. Thanks

Skyfire Voip

Quick, cozy, good smoothies and coffees, no Starbucks political garbage to deal with.

Takali Omega

Calypso's reminds me of the coffee shops Long ago. Art on the walls. Live music. Eclectic atmosphere.

Beth Derrick

This place is so cool! It's the type of coffee shop you'd expect to walk into in such an already great place. Locals and visitors alike are around, and of course they have delicious coffee drinks. CDA is a special place, and this just adds infinitely to the vibe of it.

Angel Level

Great coffee and such a welcoming warm atmosphere

James Clement

Large, comfy coffee house with a bookable large private meeting room in the downtown area of Coeur d'Alene.

Andrew Lincoln

One of the original coffee shops in CDA and the new owner is really ramping up the community events! Love the music nights and shows! And the staff is always laid-back and friendly.

Marc Patterson

Good place to share a cup and conversation.

Cecilia I

I’m obsessed with this place! I’m only visiting but I’d come here everyday if I could. Coffee is amazing, cinnamon roll is HUGE, breakfast food is fabulous and atmosphere is on point. Perfection!!

Jessica Owens

Very yummy drinks and cozy and warm inside. Our baby loved the kid area and the little chairs were too cute! THANKS!

Carson Rueber

Typically come to have a soda and use the internet, great place to relax and has a really great atmosphere.

Joshua Higby

Love how consistent the staff is making my coffee. If your a ingress or pokemon go player, there is a portal or pokestop located in here. Amazing ambiance and eclectic taste. Only draw back is no drive through when I'm in a hurry.

Angela Oliver

Great place to sit and study or just relax! Staff are great as well!!!

Steven Thimsen

Great coffee, my wife and I really enjoy this place. However, we stopped by last night, a half hour before closing, and we were told the espresso machine was closed for the night, so they had pretty limited options. Pretty frustrating when we specifically drove about a half hour to visit! Not sure why a coffee shop would stop serving a half hour before closing on a Friday night.

Chris Vernet

Extremely comfortable and inviting environment. Beautiful artwork, helpful staff, and awesome coffee flavors.

Leslie McDonnell

Great coffee, love their breakfast sandwiches. Scramble their own eggs vs. other nearby coffee houses that have precooked microwavable eggs. Yuck!

Scott Grunsted

Comfy place, good service, and we the Intrepid Fiddlers love playing our music there.

Talon Henkle

Fantastic atmosphere, and very friendly staff. I was helped by Cami (sorry if I misspelled your name) and she was very nice and was even able to answer some questions I had about the area! Thank you for the delightful experience and fantastic coffee!

Kimberley Seitz

I love Calypso's coffee, because of the vibe and eclectic seating. There is Wi-Fi available or you can just sit and visit with someone in a secluded private space. You can also play a game, grab lunch , a variety of different coffee drinks, or even a quick snack. They also serve ice cream in the summertime. They need to offer flavored Waters.

Antone Mccomis

Always a great cup of coffee. Also good breakfast sandwich. Friendly service

Adam Gregory

This is my favorite coffee shop anywhere... I routinely try coffee shops everywhere I travel and none compare to the fun and relaxed environment at Calypso's

Morten Pedersen

Very nice coffee place. Lots of options, but also possible for the staff to make specialties on the go. Had an espresso milkshake with their double chocolate ice cream. One of the best coffee drinks I've ever had! Thank you, Calypso.

Brendan Burns

Cool place if you dig the whole cringy brothel look, and psychotic paintings

Ann Davis

Love this place.

Mr. Apple

Chill Vibes!

JesusIs LORD

Ordered sausage Benedict and coffee. Both are done better at McDonald's. Till guy was too busy training new guy to really offer service. Food was delivered but coffee .made and left on counter with no call that it was done. Would skip.

Trevor Farmer

I like this place, good coffee, great atmosphere to meet people or just come for some quiet time. Great little place.

Robert Heun

Super fun place! Open mic night is bomb ! They also have a piano and great coffee with awesome snack selections.

Sara Walker

The best Chai tea! Love the atmosphere here.

Dawn Keown

No menu on display. I asked for a menu and was told it was under renovation by a condescending cashier. I ordered nothing from the invisible menu, my husband ordered the chai tea. The chai was exceptional.

Chris Wise

I really love the atmosphere here this place is amazing... With all the local art and talent and very comfortable the staff here make you feel at home

RVn CampingInsider

I went into Calypsos for the first time while passing through and exploring Coeur d'Alene. More of a coffee lounge than a coffee shop, the atmosphere is inviting and warm. Employees are helpful and polite. I wish my mornings were spent here every day. As a western Washingtonian here I have to say, the mocha was the best I had ever had. I will be back every time I am in the area.

Von Taylor

A gem of a coffee shop in northern Idaho. Owners seem to treat the baristas & staff well, which shows in the quality & friendliness of service. Various seating options with tables & nooks allow you to seek space for work, play or socializing. Calypsos has events ranging from dream interpretation to open mic nights, and offer a range of drink & food options to accompany. Coffee is roasted in house, which results in quality espresso drinks. A range of baked goods & snacks are available for order, as well as dishes from the kitchen. The location is within walking distance from much of what CdA has to offer & the city puts out a large bike rack in front during warmer months. This place is truly a treasure

andy schumann

Always great service, very friendly staff, they have a large selection of food items, one of the only places in town that roasts their own coffee beans so you are always getting freshly roasted coffee and it tastes better too! Park on the street and avoid getting a parking ticket from the expensive parking lot next-door

Charlee Morgan

Very cool place to just kick back relax enjoy some coffee or tea and many events scheduled every week such as open Mic too much much more

Emily Benjamin

Fun place with great food and coffee. Live music Monday nights (open mic)

Dacotah Turner

Such a lovely location. I am on a road trip this week and happened to stop in to this wonderful coffee shop. The atmosphere is amazing and the service is bar none. The local art ads a wonderful vibe and they have a wonderful playlist. The food is affordable and quite good. The drinks are even better. A true gem for this road trip experience.

Jason Killian

Great atmosphere and tons of comfortable seating. Also some nice booth-style desks with office chairs and outlets for laptop user

Yaeka Katsuta

Tons of places to sit. It even has a sectioned off space for people who want to work. Friendly staff and free wifi

Sandy Clemons

I love the coffee, the staff, the atmosphere. The gently used furniture is the best.

Ginger Walker

I don't know if they have new management or what but I come to this place often and it has gone down hill. There is a staff member there that looks really familiar and then it hit me. He was the chap that worked up there at the bulb/battery store who flipped the bird and yelled at a customer in front of everyone. Looks like he got canned for his awful behavior. I WILL NEVER BE RETURNING back to this place again because of him and I will tell everyone and anyone about his poor customer service. If I could 0 stars I would.

missy weston

Ecletic and homey atmosphere! Great coffee and great place to do some work.

Anton Nentchev

This place was somewhat decent under the old ownership. Then it got sold to new owners and prices jumped astronomically. My usual drink used to be in the $5.50-80 range depending on who was ringing me up, which I thought was 50c more than I wanted to spend. Last time I went there, somehow they managed to get me all the way past the $6 range to $7.39!!! You know for that kind of money I could feed a homeless person for 2 days?! No way I'm spending that kind of money on something that basically has no caloric value! Now I'm forced to go to Vault and pay them low $6 prices on the rare occasion I'm downtown and feel like coffee. Memo to management: it will serve you well to make it affordable for locals also, not just tourists from Canada, California and Seattle who pay $8 for Starbucks coffee! That way when the recession comes next year you won't lose 50% of your sales. Trust me.

Virginia Taft

Great place to gather for conversation and coffee or to use their meeting room. Glad to see they carry Gaiwan tea house teas.

Marlo Faulkner

Funky atmosphere. Good coffee.

Sabrina Wagner

Wonderful place great coffee and the framed Kramer picture in the first bathroom is the best idea ever

edward degrauw

A wonderful warm open space near the lake, lots of couches, tables, conference room like space to one side. Large enough not to feel crowded. BUT the true greatness of the place is the quality of the food and brew. An absolutely wonderful chai with a twist. And the Mexican mocha with a kick should not be missed. And one of the best eggs Benedict I have had in a long time. OUTSTANDING hollandaise !!!!

Cate Reinig

Very friendly staff and accommodating. I asked for an unusual coffee drink and they made it.

Rebecca Griffin

My boyfriend and I come here often just to grab some coffee as well as catch up. The environment is very cozy and comfortable, as well as open and friendly. The coffee is good, and there are always fun specials to choose from. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. I haven't had a single bad experience or heard of any yet. Always a joy to come here.

josh colby

Great coffee, great service. What more is there to say?

Sage Preston

This is one of my favorite places to go with my friends on the weekend. There's always something new in the collection of local art on the walls and every seat is unique (my favorite is the ridiculously cushy one close to the back). While there's not officially live music, there is a piano and it's always cool to hear someone really talented randomly come in and play. Also they have the best chai ever.

Gh

I highly recommend this place. The coffee tastes great and it’s the best place for studying.

Mitchell Petersen

Great huckleberry ice cream, excellent and patient service, delightfully peaceful place.

Rj Rueber

I mean, this is THE coffee shop in CDA. They're working hard to constantly improve the coffee, food, service, and friendly vibe. Plus, the local art is cool. They also always have something cool going on.

Ricki Lagozzino

Bill says excellent atmosphere and so so coffee. I don't drink coffee so can't address this. Staff was friendly

Robert Tetzlaff

Good espresso and food. Within a block of Independence Point and the resort. I love their Mexican mocha, and their Chai tea latte is very good too.

Tyler White

Trevor is a top notch barista. I feel like I’m at home when I walk Calypsos. Trevor I super knowledgeable and gives me great recommendations when I don’t know what I want; I’ve never left unsatisfied. RJ, who I believe now runs the Café, brings amazing musicians into CoeurdAlene that I would not have had the chance to see if he didn’t have them play at Calypsos. If you are in CoeurdAlene, come check out it out. And now they are open till 10PM!

Matthew Smith

I love this place I love the environment.

Stephen Thornton

Cozy is the word. Calypsos is consistantly smooth in bringing good energy in a friendly atmosphere. The coffee is excellent.

DIANE RUEBER

I have been coming to this coffee shop for years. They have the best decaf coffee in town. I only drink decaf and this is the place to get it. I love to sit on a couch and read the newspaper. It's a very relaxing place.

Michael Williams

Great coffee, chic atmosphere.

Eric Kahlbau

very calm atmosphere friendly staff multiple places to sit either large groups or jus someone your hanging out with , poetry readings to comedy to live music from local artists a great place to come and relax

Makko Senpai

Open mic night is a really wonderful experience. I love the energy of this place.

Richard Grimm

Passed by this place and was intrigued enough to stop on the way back. Staff was extremely friendly and we were greeted immediately. Very quant and comforting. Multiple private tables and a separate, yet included conference room with glass walls. Lots of local artwork throughout. Cool place.

kaylie McIntosh

I'm from Moscow. I've been looking for a place similar to Cafe Artista. I've finally found it. This place feels like home. So comfortable and afordable. I could spend hours here.

Theresa Dittman

A great place to come do homework close to college, have a meeting, or just chill on a quiet Sunday morning. Coffee is great to say the least as are their menu items. Also check out their Monday Open Mic...it can be quite good; never know who will be performing so come back to get a good feel for it: maybe next American Idol?

valerie scates

Great place l live it

Ashley Stewart

Didn't even know this was a thing lol! A guy friend brought me here and it was pretty cool.

Hayley Perry

great business, wonderful employees, my only suggestion would be to fix one of the bathroom locks.

Nathan Drechsel

Tried their cheese potato soup today. Bread was a little too sweet but the soup was just like Mom used to make it - except the potato's were shredded instead of cubed which changes that country flavor a little.

Diana Colgrove

Great atmosphere. Perfect gathering spot and place to just relax. Great staff and no one rushing us out the door. I don't like coffee but I'll be back for dessert and tea

Althea Lewis

Wonderful as usual!

Hailey Baker

The vibe inside is great. There are several little seating areas separated by light curtains to keep from feeling like you're sitting with strangers. The kids area is cute and such a great idea, and my daughter loved the little version of the Thinking Chair from Blue's Clues. I didn't get any food, but the coffee was great. I got one of the seasonal beverages on recommendation of the barista and was definitely not disappointed. The white coffee beverage was perfectly made and so good that I came back for another a few hours later.

Julie Gates

Over priced yummy coffee

Gerhard Werner

Has a really nice chill vibe here. The open mic nights are cool and pretty peaceful

Tracey Parrish

Every time I order a sandwich ( 3rd time now) they always mess it up. The lettuce is basically the rhine, not actual lettuce. One thin slice of turkey, hardly a half slice of avocado. Asked for toasted, never toasted. Ask for wheat, always white. Nothing but mayo and bread what a waste of money. Once again disappointed. Lesson learned, won't be back.

Kylie Nix

I absolutely love this place! I stop every time I'm in the area. Not only is it a neat place to hang out (super awesome decor), but the coffee is phenomenal! Not bitter, and has a sweet hint to it even without adding anything (I drink cappuccinos). Highly recommend going here!

Brad Hamel

It's the quintessential mountain town coffee shop. You will love it!

Josiah Argyle

Cozy and Casual coffee shop. Simple menu with quality coffee. Great place to relax or take a break from work.

Elena Johnson

I’ve been coming here for years and it never disappoints. Great coffee and service. The baristas all know their stuff and the new owners are really friendly. I was in there yesterday for a busy event and was really impressed with how the staff remained calm and professional, even when other customers were rude. I recommend their Mexican mocha with a kick!

Michael

The BEST coffee in CDA. Coffee connoisseurs will appreciate the quality of the roast and the preparation of each cup. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with ample space to work, meet, and relax. They also have a wonderful stage and we caught some live music. If you are in the area, don't miss this place. Favorite stop of the journey - Thanks Calypsos!!

Heather Spencer

My favorite coffee shop with good snacks and vibes

RJ Rueber

I love this place. They aren't fancy and snobby like some of the other specialty shops in big cities I've been too. I love the chill vibe and the cozy furniture. I also appreciate how this isn't a coffee shop for any one niche. This is a place where people of all backgrounds can hang out comfortably. The other day, I saw dirty construction workers, old former drug addicts, and college kids all finding common ground (pun intended) in a cup of coffee from Calypsos. The staff rules, too.

Jed Vick

My favorite coffee shop in the area! Great vibe and staff! Their food is fantastic and so is the whole place!

happy daisy

Really nice employees. Made me a vegan blended mocha coffee drink. It was flavorful but pretty pricey if you ask me.

Brianna Swopes

They have really great hot chocolate unlike a lot of coffee shops. The atmosphere is great with awesome art work and comfortavle decor complete with mismatched tables and over stuffed chairs.

Kurt J. Hoffman Mining

Best coffee I ever had

Nolan Foster

Always a pleasure going there, great staff and great drinks I would recomend their blended chi

roscoe davenport

Best sandwich I have had in years thank you for the wonderful lunch.

Matt Feliksa

Just about everything a coffee shop should be, and they roast their own beans on site. For some reason they don't really make a big deal of this, but it means fresh coffee and rich aroma and flavor. Their Mexican Mocha is made to perfection and the drip coffee is excellent. This place is the biggest coffee shop I've been in with lots of comfy to seating, and they use the extra space well by providing big plush chairs and generous tables. A great place to read, study, or play a board game (they have several to choose from if you don't bring your own). Come with a group or a date or whatever. Bravo

Glenn Tabbert

Awesome place with laid back vibe and great coffee. Highly recommended for working or just hanging out

Melodie Turner

It is easy to find and in a nice location by the lakeside park. Good parking. I felt their prices didn't need to be so high but they're probably average for a college town coffee shop.

jeremy rogers

Excellent service and they are awesome to the construction crew next door by bringing us coffee in the morning

Michelle

I enjoy this place cute area for kids to play great staff for helpful with drink selections excellent coffee

Eric Schenkenberger

Good coffee, fun atmosphere (there's even a play area for kids with a few toys.) It is fairly dark inside though, so in the summer I'd suggest getting coffee, then walking the park or the beach.

Varsel Jarnagin

I am just in love with this place. The food is original and delicious. When I walk into the place all the troubles and stress in my world just go away. Excellent atmosphere, service is top notch, and quality products are all you will get here. Go get a friend and give Calypsos Coffee house a visit, you will not be disappointed!

Amanda Reed

I absolutely love this coffee shop, it is my go to when going downtown. Amazing staff and amazing coffee!

Lesley McBain

Great decor. Cool little deck out back with a view of the lake. Super friendly staff. Oh ya, and stupendous latte! LOL!

Michele Lassiter

The girl at the counter was incredibly delightful. She suggested something off menu for our vegan family and it really hit the spot after a day of walking around CDA. The cold brew coffee was delicious and the atmosphere in the cafe is charming. I will be back every time I visit CDA.

Kelsey Marie

This place has a cozy environment, wonderful coffee, and a fun staff. I've been coming here during my family visits for years and each time I love the experience.

Benjamin Hernandez

Such a unique and comfortable cafe, I love going here, great coffee and food.

Aaron Wagoner

Best coffee joint in CDA. They have good food and coffee, events, art from local artists, and a private room.

Sidnee Young

Great atmosphere and food. Will definitely be going back!

George Viaud

Eclectic fun place to chill.

Shannon Thomason

Amazing coffee as always. Best coffee in town by far.

Joe Click

Great Coffee! Great food! Great people! It is coolest place you will find in the PNW. I also hear that you always get "A"s on your homework when you do it there.

April Howard

Oh my goodness! This is the epitome of a cozy and inviting coffee shop. As an entrepreneur, my work day is based on my wi-fi connection and coffee shop hopping. I hop no further since I found Calypsos Coffee. Where do I begin? If I come in the morning, I can get my eggs and avacado toast to keep me fueled. If I come around lunch, they have a daily lunch special like Chicken Alfredo (my favorite), Oriental Chicken Salad, Custom Paninis, etc....YUMMMM....The fact that they have a kitchen where they make all of their pastries and food is so nice. Usually, when I was a coffee shop hopper, you are kinda limited with do I want to eat a bagel or a muffin....Not at Calypsos... Also, being a former barista at several coffee shops in the Boise area, sadly, has made me overly picky about coffee, espresso drinks etc...The beans are roasted ONSITE weekly by the owner and the baristas, besides being sweet, are very skilled with the equipment they use and even down to the artwork they create in the lattes. They create each drink with technique but also passion!! And it shows. Meeting space: LOVE the meeting space versatility. When I meet with my nonprofit groups, we meet in the Smart room, which seats over 20 with a board room size table and a tv which I connect my laptop to to present... Then if I am meeting with 1 or just a couple people, there are separated seating areas of all different sizes AND best part.....A lot of outlets and power strips for pluggin in laptops. YES PLEASE Entertainment is a whole other factor...Live music on Mondays at 6pm- open mic is my favorite. There is dream interpretation, people come in to play chess, there is trivia night, comedy night, and even outdoor seating if you wanted to soak in the sun and bring your pup... If you haven't noticed...I just love this place. If you are traveling and want to see local flavor, get a delicious drink and some good food....this is your place. If you are a student, great place to study. Prices are great!! If you are a business person, great place to get a lot of work done and/or meet up with people. Want to catch up with an old friend...this is your place. YES!

elizabeth fitzwater

Calypsos coffee is truly something else. I came to Coeur d’Alene in August of 2017, from a small town in middle Idaho. Calypsos was the first local coffee shop i’d ever been to, and it was the most welcoming as well. I continue to go there to this day, and have never gotten tired of it, nor do I believe I will. With an amazing ambiance, great service, and absolutely wonderful coffee, Calypsos is a great place to be. Weather you’re there to work on you computer or for an open mic night, it's the right place for you. A coffee shop is all about ambiance, and Calypsos has just that, with great music, and great decor provided by local artists, it’s ambiance matches no other coffee shops i’ve seen. The music selection is always changing and always great, right now it’s the holidays so you can imagine it’s christmas music to the max. But any other day the music is truly something else. Art and photography from around Coeur d’Alene laiden the walls and it breathtaking. You can purchase art as well, to support local artists! It’s aesthetic is phenomenal as well, I can’t put my finger on what it is exactly it’s got this homey, indie vibe to it. All in all the ambiance of this coffee shop, like their coffee is a 10/10. Ambiance aside, the coffee from calypso's is always perfect. My regular order is a simple chocolate mocha with extra chocolate or “extra sweet”. The baristas make it perfect every single time, it’s never sickeningly sweet or to unsweetened. Not only are they great at coffee but they offer tea, and food! And the food is to die for, whether it’s a grilled cheese or a cinnamon roll the size of your face, they have it, and it’s just as delicious as their coffee. They blend all of their coffee in house, and if you really like it you can bring home a bag for yourself. The mystery blend is really something, however I if you want to find out just how great it is you’ll have to pick up a bag for yourself. Of course this amazing coffee doesn’t make itself, it takes a wonderful team, and the baristas really know what they’re doing. Customer service is important in any establishment you go to, weather it’s a store or a restaurant. Calypsos has excellent customer service and even when they’re at their busiest they work hard to get you your coffee quick, and perfectly done. When paying for food the baristas always have a smile on their face and are ready to help. This is another factor in what gives this place such a home-like vibe to it. All in all I will always give Calypsos a 10/10 rating. It’s such a quaint and welcoming little coffee shop. They’ve recently come under new management as well, and are still shining like before. I spoke personally with on of the new managers, RJ Rueber, and he’s an absolute gem! It’s great to see him carry on this amazing coffee shop. While we spoke he told me some ideas for Calypsos he was having and it sounds like this little coffee shop is going to stay a 10/10!

Possibly the best place in town for coffee and...... Ambiance is relaxing, laid back and enjoyable. Lots of space and plenty of seating. Folks enjoying coffee, teas, food, each other.

Different from the coffee spots I'm used to (in WA) but it's worth a stop. Great coffee, with real baristas, as opposed to the franchise stuff more widely available, and they have a great tea selection as well. Space can be kind of drafty in the colder months, but it's great in the summer. Also, last time I visited, they had a cool sort of community workspace too, which might be nice if it gets loud or hectic in the main space.
