REVIEWS OF Kona Coffee & Tea IN Hawaii

Claudia Chagnon

The food was amazing! We were two and shared the sample plate with an extra side of mac and cheese and it was perfect!

Jaco P

This delightful spot was recommended by our Uber driver. As an Australian finding a good cup of coffee is always a priority and this cup of Kona coffee did not disappoint.

Jamey Vegas

Delicious options and a very friendly staff. Atmosphere is lively and it would be hard to find a frown in this place. Kona coffee is some of the best in the world and you won't be disappointed with other menu options. Love it.

David Sievers

Great coffee and light breakfast. Good vibes

al scullin

Good coffee. Nice location. Very pleasant staff.

P A

Great place but forcing you to tip with a tip jar present was a bit too much on a coffee. The iPad only had a dollar minimum. I'm no cheap skate but don't turn it around and then ask me if I want to tip??

Forrest Storie

A great coffee shop. Really good price and great staff.

Peggy Reilly

Great breakfast. Nice service

Kona Cloud Forest Tours

A great place in downtown Kona .. nice outside and inside seating

Jeffrey Harrington

This is a great place to relax!

Nicole Vittoz

Flat white = exquisite. Good price, lovely shaded patio, great friendly service. If you need some world class coffee in Kona, you should come here! Food looked good too.

Jasmine Alip

Good vibes all around, super chilled. Great service and menu is great

Ian Flynn

Great mood for a coffee shop. Beans are a little expensive but drinks are worth it!

keturah besser

Best coffee, lots of options and quick service. Have been many a time.

Jack Faessler

It's 100% KONA coffee. What's not to like? It can get very busy, but it is worth the "Americano-extra-shot-buzz" wait! Lots of relaxed air-conditioned seating inside and outdoor on-deck seating.

My favorite place to get coffee in Kona farm to table the best I love their dirty chai’s with Mac nut milk

ravi kolli

Good coffee I am not into caffeine beverages. Friend suggested this place and best he mocha was better than Starbucks which is what I drink if ever. It is much stronger and flavour full

Macie Carey

Iced Coffee here is amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. There is plenty of space inside and out to sit and enjoy your coffee. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and the service is fast.

Phemelo Malone

Wonderful and welcoming atmosphere. Friendly, efficient staff. Delicious Chai Latte and Lemon Chicken Croissant. Definitely a coffee shop to frequent!!

Helen He

Coffee was okay, bagel was delicious!

Katherine McCusker

Kona Coffee and Tea Company is a Kona mainstay for both locals and tourists. Truly its’ name does not do it justice. This cafe offers a little bit of everything! Coffee, wine, kombucha, and even beer. Breakfast, snacks, and lunch. Aside from sustenance Kona Coffee also serves to host local events, as well as a place to publicize events.

Noah Farris

Great little coffee shop to get some authentic Kona coffee. Really impressed with the quality of both the coffee and the workers.

Jeremy Freeman

Very good place to try kona coffee, easy parking, cute interior. Only 4 stars because the latte was very heavy on the foam.

Jaco P

This delightful spot was recommended by our Uber driver. As an Australian finding a good cup of coffee is always a priority and this cup of Kona coffee did not disappoint.

Catherine Lum

I ordered the coconut milk latte. Nice, full flavor of Kona coffee, not watered down, like I've had elsewhere.

Lenny Mangleson

Great coffee and beer on tap is a plus.

Milton Campbell

Great coffee! On our tour of Kailua-Kona, we tried to hit up as many highly rated coffee shops as possible. Kona Coffee & Tea had great food and coffee options. The employee of the month was a honey bee bullet coffee with coconut oil, honey, butter, kona coffee, cinnamon and, of course, love. The drink was warm and creamy; very pleasant going down. It could have been a bit hotter, but everything I got here was on the cooler side, so that may just be how they operate. Ask if you prefer hot beverages. In doubling down on lunch, I got thr power oatmeal, which included brown sugar, cinnamon, raisins and I added almond milk (a must for that perfect creamy taste). The oatmeal was creamy and also ran warm, but tasted great overall. Great little spot overall, and I'd recommend it if you can peel yourself away from the coast. There are tons of food options that looked equally appealing from the avo toast to the peanutbutter toast with banana and the acai bowl. Enjoy!

Mike Oxgoode

I could seriously do with out the front line employee ( male ) with finger black finger nail polish and unkept hair around my food. Just sayin. The coffee is perfect and the food while pricey is worth it

Jan W

Was great!!! Got some good coffee!!

Andrew Agustin

Very good products. Coffee program was on point and prepared with care and aplomb during a rush. Place has a good feel but most important, coffee is really good.

Luis Martinez

Great coffee.

Rochelle Barber

Great flavorful coffee, even have wildlife hanging out on the patio.

Aloha O Kona

Great spot! One of those things that I really like about this business is that they are thinking out of the box and how to get involved with the community by hosting dances and at times music events. We've considered hosting Hawaiian style or Slack Key "house concert" at this venue as well. Great customer service, nice surroundings and tons of parking!

Dan Albosta

Good locally grown coffee. I got a macchiato and an espresso. Both very good. Super fresh coffee beans and the baristas know what they're doing. This is not Starbucks.

Grigoriy Shmigol

Great coffee but a very slow service. Took 15+ minutes to make two lattes with no other orders in queue. After a polite inquiry on the status of my order - was told that they did not see the order? Maybe we got a trainee barista? Overall like the place. Modern /clean look inside. Decent coffee with lots of drinks to choose from. Not the cheapest pastry, but it's available. Mango bread was so-so. Parking might be a bit tricky especially during the rush hour (3-4pm). Seatting inside(air-conditioned) and outside is available. Restroom is on premises. Location is by a busy road so no great views.

BJ Zahn

Excellent coffee .very busy so expect to wait.

Max Davis

Tip: They sell unroasted green coffee beans to take home (one of the only places on the island?)

scott albecker

Great coffee and options that you cannot find at other big name coffee shops. Great place to meet up for conversation. Healthy options, clean facilities and accommodating staff who are all so nice!

Fernando Gouveia

Great coffee, friendly staff. A good spot to work from if you need wifi and caffeine

Stephen Wilton

Great atmosphere! 100% Kona coffee service and sold. Bagel and cream cheese was very tasty. Oatmeal is good as well.

Jeffrey Rahm

Awesome coffee and breakfast sandwiches

Linda Bolin

Interesting place to visit.. You can learn a lot about the ways they do things and make the coffee there

Sarah m

So I went here for coffee and got an expresso shake as a morning beverage. That was -not- a morning beverage, it was a delicious and creamy dessert. It was one of the best milkshakes I've ever had, with a smooth taste and the espresso is clearly top notch, but next time I'll save it for a treat day!

Tena Valenti

Consistently delicious Iced Americanos. Delicious Turkey Pesto sandwich (best focaccia bread ever). Good cookies and mango bread. Friendly staff. Eat outside; too cold in.

Carrie Thompson

Great coffee and the food was fresh however 2 stars for poor service. 4 staff was present, food order was wrong and they forgot one of the coffees. Girl running the expresso machine had nothing but snarky looks and told me to ask the person I ordered from. You lost out on me purchasing beans.

Melissa Green

Amazing 100% kona coffee! Definitely recommend. :)

Mark Gross

Kona coffee and tea is awesome! They do it all including making everything fresh from fresh ingredients and roasting their own coffee from coffee they grow on their own Farms! Their coffee is Ono!

Raisa Klyne

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU NEED TO GET WORK DONE ON A COMPUTER!! They only have ONE outlet and a ‘Charging Station’ for phones and devices alike. It’s a shame I wasted $12 here when I ended up going to Starbucks a block away just so I could get my work done.

Sunny FXR

Family owned and operated, the coffee here is high quality. Nice clean pleasant surroundings.

John McBride

Fabulous local coffee shop~ great local bean, friendly service, nice hangout spot. Family-run biz with a great story. Macnut creamer! And great salsa dancing most every week!

Jeya Srikanth

Coffee was at room temperature and too bitter

David Swendiman

Kona Coffee & Tea Company is being featured this week in Kingdom News, an OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT PUBLICATION in the ongoing efforts of Genuine Sovereignty for this Island Nation.

Tom G

Friendly and best price around for pure Kona coffee!

James Wilson

Quick service, good coffee

Stevie Hendrix

One of the best on the Big Island for coffee, certainly the best of Kona- here at least 3 times a week. Big open workspace outside with wifi and super staff. Highly recommend getting a "spiced mocha" (cinnamon & cayenne mocha), or a flat white with coconut milk-both pictured below.

Gina Singh

Both times I visited I had a 12 ounce decaf latte. The milk was nicely steamed (great foam!) and the espresso was smooth. If you're like me and can't drink caffeine, you'll probably be surprised by the $2 added charge for decaf - this made my drink almost $6! I suppose I could've gone to the Starbucks nearby, but this place uses all Kona beans and I like to support local, so I sucked it up and paid the extra $2.

Brittany Gutierrez

Had the ham sandwich with Lilikoi mustard. Wow. So good. Just order Lilikoi everything while in Hawaii

James Burkett

There espresso shakes are great

Lyle Troxell

Wonderful space, with an outside covered patio. Love the coffee!

Mike Derrickson

Fast, friendly service and delicious kona coffee!

Lawrence Chiu

Really good coffee, great people serving it to you.

Emma Goodrich

Favorite coffee shop on the big island! We went several times during our trip and grabbed beans and tea to take home. Try their cold brew coffee or spicy mocha. Staff are great, very friendly and efficient service. Loved the tree slices for table tops, nice touch!

Liam Munzenmaier

Awesome coffee and a great atmosphere! Love the Iced Kona! Even some beer/cider on tap and wine available.

Zoe Johnson

The Iced tea was very tasty! However it took over fifteen minutes to get our acia bowl which was mostly banana. When she set it down she didn't call a name on either item and set our spoon down in a sticky puddle on the counter

MassageHop

Truly my favorite coffee in Kona, and that’s saying something!

Trevor

Great coffee shop with friendly staff and excellent cold brew.

Nancy Armani

Beautiful place , Great coffee, & pasties, BUT TO DARN COLD!!!! take a sweater you’ll need it!!!

Stacy Holden

Good Kona cold brew for $4-4.50

David Reid

Great coffee, great staff and a lovely atmosphere despite being in the middle of a retail centre. We are visiting from Scotland and just loved it.

matthew parnell

Really good food! Had the sausage tart and smoked salmon spread. Service was polite and fast. Really cosy location

Jason Lalonde

Great food, excellent coffee, above average and lovely service!

Kim Genereux

Coffee...great, acai bowl...yummy

Elizabeth Newby

Awesome green tea latte!!!

John Enders

Friendly staff, good macchiato, delicious granola with berries. It's behind the KFC, but don't let that dissuade you for visiting.

MICHAEL DEDIOS

Great caffeinated beverages

Alex Schönherr

Perfect Coffee Spot when you are done with shopping. Everything with Kona beans tastes better for sire, but make sure you try the local Kombucha from tap. Just sooo yummy! Who doesn't need the A/C has a great spot to sit outside in the shade.

Sue Burnet

Best coffee in the USA.

Gonzalo M

Great staff, awesome coffee shop!... Wished I liked coffee more, it is good!.....I just don't drink enough of it to really get the whole taste from it. Overall, I recommend this place!.....

Steven Thompson

Awesome atmosphere and friendly staff.

Martha Rangole

Everyome was nice and efficient food blended mocha

Kate Chu

Great atmosphere. The store was clean and bright. Coffee was delicious. Not a big fan of their mocha though.

Celia Corbin

A delightful surprise coming here! Besides coffee, they also offer an excellent grilled cheese sandwich with the fluffiest and freshest bread along with very decent wines such as a vinho Verde. Ice cold AC and very nice staff. Everyone seems happy!

Shelley Mueller

Just a great spot for a cup of coffee and a quick breakfast before heading out for the day. Love the warm banana toast. Also a great spot in the afternoon if you want a beer or glass of wine.

Kenley Unruh

Amazing coffee, cute shop. The Bullet Coffee is so coconutty and creamy! 1 less star due to a few visits we had some less than ideal service, but overall a great coffee spot!

Steph McEnnally

Best coffee in Hawaii, espresso just like home in Australia. Great croissants too and nice setting.

Bradley King

Used this as my first stop every morning for my wake up juice. They do a great job here, and their wifi is super fast to knock out some work before heading out for the day. What more could you want from a coffee shop?

Julie D

Friendly and great selection -- GO!!!

Lindsey Walsh

Seriously the best coffee and tea I've ever had! Whatever you get, add the macadamia milk to it, it's fantastic! We ordered our drinks and sat on the patio. They had music playing in the background so we just sat and chatted. I left a week ago and I'm still daydreaming about that tea!

Steve Knight

Never war there

Daniel Knowles

Good coffee and snacks. It's right in town and very convenient. We love the deck outside to just hang out and chill with the geckos. They own their own coffee farm with something like 50,000 coffee plants on island. It's local, lovely, and lively. Friday nights there's us activities and sometime dance classes.

Deniel Marco

I'm love that place, make me comfortable

Chris Christian

Just a lovely place for a nice cup of coffee. The coffee is exceptionally good and the staff is very friendly. We ended up coming here every morninga morning routine to plan the day

Dhamma Daughter

Green tea latte was good but not mixed well.

Chintaginjala Prasad

Excellent coffee with very good views of ocean

Thomas LeBaron

This is the place to go for good Kona coffee, good service, great coffee, opens earlier than other coffee shops in town

Michael Stevens

Wonderful coffee and pleasant servuce

Michael Aye

Really nice place, well tempered AC (not too cold) and their 100% Kona coffee special roast for Espresso (between medium and dark roast) makes for an excellent latte and it gets well made (not too hot milk that would burn the coffee). Get your latte here! :)

Emma Simmons

Best coffee shop ever!

Mark Hansen

Helpful staff and good menu. Good local spot!

Eugene Burke

Amazing selection of coffee! Bring a charger as well to charge up any electronics!

Shaynee Shirai

For the most part, I really enjoyed majority of my experience here. I did encounter a problem when the girl handed me a different drink than the one I ordered. But to me, coffee is coffee. I didn't pay more for what I got on accident, but I didn't get what I originally ordered. I believe the girl that was making it was having a really busy day.

Kristi Bond

Nice spot with outdoor seating. They even have a charging station, and you can rent board games! The coffee is delicious, and the employees are nice. They don't display the food options very well, but they do have food

Nicole Peltzer

The only positive thing about this location is the cute ambiance, convenient location, and nice staff. Our kona drip coffee was little more than tea with a bitter coffeeish flavor and the power oatmeal was like a soup for people with no tastebuds. Pretty disappointing I’ve gotten better brewed kona coffee on a Oahu.

Dustin Wollenburg

Good coffee. Female worker was not very pleasant so that ruined it for me. I ordered a coffee to stay, then asked for a to go cup but she apparently didn’t hear me. My wife then repeated that I wanted a to go cup and we were met with attitude.

Ryan V

They pull a good shot here, and that made the mocha I had delicious.

Jose Luis Gutierrez

Good experience, friendly people nice place for Relax,!

Rico Suave

The locals version of Starbucks. Family run, cozy and happy. Also has some deli items.

Kayla K

Hands down the best coffee we had on Kona. We tried a lot of places and most were terrible. Finally we found a coffee shop that uses a real espresso maker! Get yourself up there and get latte asap!

JLorelle Carter

As a mobile notary it's a wonderful place to meet my customers large tables great ambiance Wonderful Coffee

Karla Ferrer

Had their coffee almost every day that we were here! The fraps were the best hands down

Harald Halvorsen

Nice coffee shop. Better than Starbucks. Best cold brew on the island.

Mamie Velez

Wonderful local coffee house where you're able to find one of the finest 100% Kona Coffee beans and the hard to find Peaberry Kona coffee beans too. Thumbs up for coffee addicts.

B B

The friendly employees told me how to get to Greenwells farm which is only 20min away. Good coffee here at the store. Enjoy a cup before going out. Thanks!

Nicholas Vera

Dark roast was good. Bagel and lox was great. Scone was fantastic. Staff was friendly and informative. Store atmosphere is really nice, lots of wood surfaces. Can't wait to go back tomorrow.

Tom Brennan

air conditioning inside, nice covered deck seating outside. Good coffee too.

Deepak Arora

Superb collection of Hawaiian Coffee with exquisite aroma, loved it.

Hawaii Business Marketing

Great place for Coffee Tea and Snacks plus very fast Wi-Fi with complimentary plug-in and charging station cords of all kinds. They have an outdoor Lanai (porch) and livemisic every week plus dancing lessons

Gino M.

Coffee lovers paradise... It's been a long time since I've had the perfect espresso and this place was it. Their bagged coffee beans smell like sweet mocha pound cake.. excellent!

Henry Kamekona

It was my first time visiting your coffee store, thanks to my local friend Blake. I very impressed to see all the girls working so hard to please us your customers, it was a great experience with a great vibe. It all started at the register. The welcome greeting with a smile, I think her name is Rylie and my experience was enjoyable with our coffees and cinnamon pound cake. I'll be back again....

Cynthia Crabtree

I love this place not only for its amazing coffee, but for its heart. Kona Coffee & Tea the center of our community. This family owned business not only provides excellent job training for our youth but it exemplifies how connected to the land we are. This shop proudly celebrates the Farm to Cup movement and advocates the importance of Kona Coffee in the global market. I will be a KCTC believer for life!

Dillon Keech

Classiest little coffee shop I have ever visited! (Helps that they have tea, beer, and wine also!) Friendly staff, extremely reasonable prices - and better than any chain-name coffee shop!

Arthur Graber

If you’re passionate about coffee this isn’t exactly what you’re looking for. Grind equipment and espresso machine are okay. Environment and coffee shop and staff are great though.

john dour

Nice joint, fast WiFi

Floyd Fowler

Best coffee shop on the island, hands down. Go with the iced coffee, or-- as they call it--an Iced Kona, They use the Kyoto method for making "cold" coffee. This method provides the consumer with a unique, flavorful experience. Always good , always consistent you just can't beat an iced Kona while visiting paradise.

Can Cun

Good fresh coffee locally grown, roasted and ground , fair prices simple minded employees, not much spark upstairs...(but I think all baristas have that half baked blank face glazed over eyes look... Starbucks workers do... anyway I got sidetracked) but good at making coffee, will return for my next caffeine fix while out n about well worth it vs Starbucks.

Bob Mosscrop III

Small business with big bold flavors. Always love seeing a great local company fare well, and Kona coffee and Tea just celebrated 20 years in 2018 (noticed the magazine photo of founder and family when my dad and I stopped in for a quick cold brew iced Kona. Highly recommed.

Mark Worrell

Great kona coffee, price? Umm, yeah. Definitely way higher than I would expect.

Mike Blankemeyer

Great place

Elizabeth Crook

One of my favorite coffee shops on the island!!! I love their chai tea. Great atmosphere and always friendly. Sometimes drinks take a while if they are busy.

Andrew Perkins

Cappuccino was great smooth and delicious.. and I am not a coffee person.. wife had the medium roast coffee.. great place good vibes.

Eddie Kubo

Very friendly and helpful staff and a good variety of drinks and pastry items. Reasonably priced for the area with a cup of Kona coffee for around $3. My only thing is that I felt the espresso based drinks lacked a little punch in the coffee flavor and left a weird aftertaste. Not sure if it’s a Kona blend or something else but it was a bit of a disappointment. Otherwise a very pleasant environment and they offer wi-fi here.

Lt. Colonel David K. Swendiman

"Cultivating Community" is what the Kona Coffee & Tea Company promotes and advertises. And they Kona good job of loving up to this noble and worthy cause. Centrally located and very welcoming. Recently attended a Latin Dance Class after hours. It was great! They Dona lot more for the Community too like hosting Festivals and Fundraisers.

Jake Mcloon

Nice cool place to cool down. Good coffee

Barett McGavock

Long Kona coffee menu with traditional options like a cortado. Try the tasty espresso shake! ☕

Evan Snyder

This review is only regarding the "Tea" half - they may have wonderful coffee, but I'm not into coffee so I can't report on it. As for their tea, for the people that like that kind of thing, they're probably gonna like that kind of thing. Last I was in there, they didn't have any regular tea - no Earl Grey, no English Breakfast, no generic "Black". Only fruity and herbal teas. So if that's you're thing, they're probably great. But if you just want regular tea you're out of luck.

Molly Welty Hedrick

Cute shop and appeared to be a local hot spot. Price was ok, coffee ok. Only visited it once, but nothing wrong or outstanding to say about it.

M4mb0 Gio

Cappuccino not so good and very expensive for breakfast.

Ramon Klose

Enjoyed a Mac Nut white mocha is was excellent.

Mark Cohen

Waited some time for the food to arrive. Smaller portions and more expensive than the mainland. Smaller portions is not a bad thing.

Kevin Hottinger

A great place to start your day on the big island!

Charlie

Love to have coffee here. Best place on the island.

Scott MacKenzie

We discovered this place at the beginning of our month long vacation on the Big Island. The staff were all super friendly & helpful and the food was delicious. The coffee is OUTSTANDING! We went through a pound of beans a week, and took 3 lbs home with us. Nothing beats 100% Kona Coffee!

Dan S

Great pour over coffee. Dark Kona

Katherine Kauhane

Best coffee in kona I so far as I know

Linda Arlington

This lovely local Coffee & Tea place here in Kona is a very good place to enjoy Kona Coffee done the way one likes to enjoy their brews. It is a relaxing place to sip and enjoy your brew and a small bite either indoor or outdoor. The staff are very friendly and appear to enjoy their work and the clientele that stop by. Go, visit, sip, relax and enjoy.

maisha williams

Great coffee and service, even for those of us that like coffee with our cream!!

Jason T

Very well ran shop. Coffee, tea, beer, and merch are all great. Prices are good. Haven't tried the food yet.

Ty MASTER

Clean & roomy atmosphere..

Derek Cladek

So much better than Starbucks. Kona Latte with Vanilla. Not too sweet and has great flavor. Very spacious and open inside with table and seating both inside and outside. Lots of free parking which is nice. Going down the road towards the water and parking cost $$
