First off this a creative name. And IT'S GOOD! Secondly, and more importantly, is the quality of the coffee. Based on a Hawaiian theme, the story of how the shop got its name is interesting. The shop also serves a variety of sandwiches and pastries. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. The staff were friendly and helpful. While we were there they called a patron by name..a happy repeat customer. You have to make an interesting loop to get to this place because of how the highway is. It's not difficult, but you need to pay attention. It is most definitely worth the effort to come in and enjoy a coffee at this place.

Their bad ass mocha iced coffee is in fact, bad ass! I get it made with almond milk. Iced coffees sold elsewhere get diluted as the ice melts but, at Bad Ads, they use ice made of coffee so you don't have that happen! Their breakfast burritos are Great! Try them smothered in green chili for a real morning eye opener!

Note that there is construction going on the.main street, this construction does impact the ability to get into the parking lot.

I wasn’t impressed. Just my frozen coffee and breakfast wrap were $16, and for that price, I expected the food to be amazing. The breakfast wrap was bland. I can’t even say it tasted bad, it had no taste. The coffee was okay. I was the one who ordered it with coconut, but that was all I tasted. No coffee taste. Not worth the price at all in my opinion.

The name is appealing and catchy! Does it live up to it? Well, it's cozy and has character. Although they have lots of tasty-looking baked goods, the menu is very limited for a breakfast place, and the coffee isn't organic (and it's not self-serve, they fill it for you behind the counter). Food-wise, I ordered the "Power Gyro" and it was good... if a little skimpy on the greens. It's a pretty small place, which they make good use of, but I don't think you can comfortably sit more than 2 or 3 people at any of the tables. Aesthetically it's enjoyable, with cool original paintings on the walls. It's a bit loud when the specialty machines are going — I noticed our party kinda had to shout a bit at times, which was interesting at 9 am. It's very much a "take your order at the counter and call your name" kind of place, not a "have a seat and we'll take care of you" place. So I found it a lot more impersonal than Java Surf, which is just down the street and I would recommend above this. Plus you're welcome refill a to-go cup of coffee yourself there!

Vising from Victoria BC last week, found this coffee shop. Brilliant Place, went there both days for my breakfast, coffee, peace and quiet. Now, you Americans! Try to use some manners like 'please' and 'thank you'. I was amazed how many of you walk in an say "yeh, gimme this, gimme that.!" The staff here were lovely, and deserve better. Thanks girls!

The baristas are fast, your coffee will be ready very quickly... However, part of that is the assymbly line method utilized for coffee and food prep - it is efficient, yet inevitably reduces the freshness, if only slightly. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, but the location is difficult to get to, and the layout is not the best. The food and coffee are, however, quite appealing and very good. The staff are pleasant and friendly, and the prices are very fair. Overall, worth the struggle of escaping the traffic visit.

Inconsistent. They have no clue how to make a cappuccino. (More like a latte) Takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R to get through a short line. If the line is at the door, just leave... Waited on first day 12 min w/o any movement at all. Not worth it for espresso drinks where you taste no coffee.

The location of this cafe is absolutely saturated with competitors and still manages to shine with their unique selection of chilled drinks and health-conscious food items which are an ideal start to a hot summer day. Atmosphere is relaxed and the staff is friendly and patient. They also have an effective rewards program as well as residual parking across the street.

Coffee was terrible. My first red flag was the big sign before ordering, “all sales are final no returns or exchanges”, and I’m thinking that’s a little odd for any service/food providers but I really wanted some coffee. I really am not exaggerating when I say it tasted like an ashtray, and the bottom was filled with grinds (not just a couple). I ordered a nonfat iced triple latte, my only guess is that the “dark roast” was just plain burnt to nothing. I couldn’t drink it, and because I couldn’t exchange it, I ended up spending another $5 on a latte somewhere else. And while waiting for my coffee I noticed that they had a small box of K-cups of their roast for sale, $19.99. What a rip. I’m assuming that they have gone they a change in ownership, bc there was no love for coffee in that house.

Bright and quirky coffee shop. Drip coffee is about $2.50, specialty coffee around $5 and change. It's wheelchair accessible, has a bar area (no alcohol) that seats about 6. The tables inside have the ability to seat 15. There are only a few outlets available to charge devices. They have breakfast and lunch options for food. They use Monin syrup which is typically seen as above average in quality.

What a hidden gem! The ambiance is excellent there, and so is the coffee. I had some sort of latte that was recommended by my server, Lauren. It was outstanding. It was also fun to watch her working with other customers. She not only knew everyone by name, she knew what each of them wanted. She looks very young but I assume she's been working there forever.

Where do I begin..."hot" coffee was cold. Had to practically beg for cream for the coffee. 45 minutes before closing they began mopping the floors, right in front of us. Very rude. Went to the bathroom and the wet cement floor was dangerously slippery. Employees were totally unaware, customer service was laughable. This was a one and done. Will never go back.

A solid 'meh' from me. Not awful but not great. My sandwich (the dawn patrol) was completely lacking in seasoning. The eggs were nicely done but the bacon was definitely on the flabby side. The chocolate chip cookie was pretty good. The iced coffee (an almond mocha) was also lackluster. They do get props for having a variety of non-dairy bases to make the drink with.

We went today at 4:00 to 3636 lower hapaliani. Wish I could give this place negative stars. We were looking for a local coffee shop; this place is called 'Bad ass coffee'. They had one specialty coffee on the menu and they didn't even have it hot. The guy said it was only on ice. We agreed to the ice-coffee and he proceeded to pour it from a pitcher that had been sitting on the counter for who-knows how long, so it was super watered down. My first sip was full of grinds you could see at the bottom of the clear cup. The guy behind the counter wasn't even polite. He just kept cleaning his coffee maker when we were ready to order. Then when we needed milk, "do you have milk?" "Yes" he says. Brief pause. "Oh would you like some?"... "ummm yes please". The rest of the menu is drip coffee and it wasn't even prepared fresh. If you like gross watered down coffee, or love drip coffee, you will love this place; otherwise avoid at all cost. If you like specialty coffee, try anywhere else.

Stopped off on our way through from Farmington after feeling a bit sleepy and I scored an Eye Opener (2 shots of espresso added to a brewed coffee.). It did the trick and likely saved me from nodding off throwing my Subaru down a ravine on our way on to Amarillo. Even the ice cubes were made out of coffee so as the ice melted the coffee got stronger instead of watered down. Way to live up to your name.

The staff is wonderful and friendly. If you need to have something changed or are not sure what you want just let them know what you do like and they will go above and beyond for you. The parking lot is pretty small so walk or ride a bike if you can. Would definitely recommend the dark choc mocha's.

I have a pretty restricted diet and was able to order some eggs with turkey sausage, avocado, and fresh vegetables--absolutely loved it! The space is fun and comfortable. I've been coming to this place for a year now and not once have I been disappointed until today. I had surgery today and my boyfriend forgot to order my coffee with soy milk as I'm lactose intolerant. We fixed it at the window to only be charged for the wrong drink and then the fixed drink with soy milk. I don't understand why you would charge for a whole other drink and not refund us the first. Customer service lowers my rating for this place. Love the coffee though.

The Menehune blended latte is absolutely DELICIOUS, and the barista made it so fast! The menu is vast with exquisite specialty coffees that make it hard to pick just one. The staff is very friendly and relaxed, adding to the calm, pleasant atmosphere of the cafe (which has free wifi!) The only detail that could possibly make this place better is air conditioning on these 99° days. I couldn't tell if it was off or on very low, but since I walked to the cafe in the heat, more of a chill would have been nice.

Sadly my second time going to this cafe was not as pleasant as the first. When i was telling the female at the register i did not like the first drink i ordered she turned to the barista and asked her if she could make me another drink. The barrista got a real UGLY attitude and said "this isn't Starbucks". This was beyond rude the cashier felt bad and was trying to accommodate me when she asked the barrista to make me another drink. I was trying to pay for another drink and the barrista was under the impression i was trying to get a free drink. The second drink she made wasn't any better than the first it tasted like straight syrup. Next time i'll go to Starbucks so i don't waste my money and gas.

After a few place of "just ok" coffee we tried this place without even looking at Google Reviews. The dark roast we had was very good, what I had been looking for. Highly recommended if you like stronger coffee. If you like coffee that is not strong, you can stick with the regular Hawaiian blend, which is also good (just not strong enough for me). We will likely be back here every morning of our stay in Maui.

Great tasting local Maui coffee right across from the beach in a relaxed atmosphere. The coffee is a great tasting local Maui blend. The service is friendly and fast. There are a few outdoor seats and tables (or just walk across the road to the beach). It is close to most Kaapolani hotels which makes for a relaxing morning coffee walk. Large selection of t-shirts (very cool looking shirts) and coffee mugs.

Many of their lattes are available sugar free as well, a plus for diabetics or people watching their sugar intake.Staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice interior with hawaian coffee theme. Menu selection includes breakfast and lunch selections made on the premises. I have been going here on and off for about 6 years and it has been consistently good coffee and service.

(Downtown location) My one star is not rated towards the coffee, it's more directed at terrible!! customer service. I recently found this place and have been spending alot of time and money there. Keep in mind it's really! out of my way We purchased some k cups and found them to be very weak tasting for $13 dollar's. I tried to return them for a credit or two coffees and the owner was not having it. This is called customer service??? In the end he lost two customers over $13 bucks plus I gave him his k cups back. RIP

Cozy coffee place with simple, fresh eats. I had an oatmeal bowl, which was very creamy and surprisingly well portioned. My husband had a Kona Steak wrap and really liked the chipotle sauce they used on it. Coffee was very fresh and bold - wish I had picked up a bag! There is only a small amount of parking out front, but there is a little strip mall right across the street that you can walk from. We plan on stopping in again next time we are at the VA Beach Convention Center, as it is within reasonable walking distance!

Convenient location and right across the street from the beach. The coffee was good; I just had the regular drip. You can get fancy drinks too but most of what they sell here appears to be merchandise and the novelty of a specialty Kona coffee. If you're looking for some gifts or something nice to take back home this is probably a good fit. I'm not sure this is the place for me but it sure beats going into a Starbucks. I visited when the farmers market was not happening. I'd imagine if I were here during the Farmers Market that parking what access would be my harder. Keep that in mind as you make your visit.

If this place isn’t close to where you’re staying or live in VB....go there anyway! Definitely the best coffee ☕️(and coffee shop) in town and one of the best on the East Coast. The coffee ☕️ is truly delicious - and I’m an Iced Coffee guy so it’s tough to make that as tasty as hot....but they did! I’ve had a variety of food here - today I had the Tropical Rush for breakfast and it’s fantastic. I’ve had the Sriracha Thai Chicken Wrap in the past as well and it was banging

Just stopped in for a regular coffee since I like to vacation nearby. Less than a 1/2 mile walk in the morning is a perfect way to wake up. The gal running the place was friendly and their coffee is great. In Portland we have a ton of coffee roasters to chose from but the coffee beans they use here are awesome and superior. No bitterness whatsoever, just nice and smooth and delicious. Thanks for the great start!
