Not only was the drive here absolutely gorgeous, but the drinks were AMAZING. Like most, I don't get the opportunity to try coffee outside of Starbucks or Dunkin for the most part but if this place ever franchised, the big guys better watch out! The barista was genuinely warm and welcoming. The building itself was spacious inside and had a beautiful front porch area. Local artists sell their work there, so while you are waiting for your drinks there is plenty to look at (and maybe even purchase). My daughter loved her hot chocolate, which was surprising because she actually doesn't care for hot chocolate from Starbucks. My Husband got a Chai Latte that smelled divine and tasted even better. The chai flavor was so robust and spicy, it left him wanting more. I had the Dr. Seuss, which is a Mocha with cinnamon. I still dream about that drink. I am sad this coffeehouse is so far away from our home. But we will definitely be back next time we are in Helen.

Hidden gem of a café. Renée recommended the blueberry biscuit (light, fluffy, and not too sweet) along with a perfect chai latte lightly sweetened with local honey and served in handmade pottery mugs (which keeps the latte warm for longer). Plus, they display work by local artists making it possible to get a unique gift for that special someone (in my case a family member who loves pottery). I discovered this place after a failed attempt to find a place to sit for a bit in Helen, GA.

Sweetwater Coffee is THE place to go in the Cleveland, Clarkesville, Sautee, and Helen areas. The owner Mrs. Carolyn and her son Zach provide not only wonderful, affordable coffee, but also demonstrate an appreciation for each and every one of their customers by getting to know them personally. I go to school in Cleveland and will drive 20 minutes just to have fabulous coffee with caring service in an atmosphere that fosters comfort. I have been other coffee places in the surrounding areas, but nothing can compare to Sweetwater. Seriously take the time to give them YOUR business!

Cozy place, stand-alone house-type structure, multiple rooms inside, balcony seating and seating on the grounds. Plenty of coffee drinks and freshly made Italian soda flavors. Lots of local pottery and t-shirts for sale, all hot drinks served in pottery mugs (unless to-go!). A pretty, quiet, soothing place which seems full of people yet un-crowded.

Amazing mocha!! Sweet, creamy, comforting, and served in an actual ceramic mug! The blueberry and raspberry scones were soft and spongy and not too sweet. My husband really liked the orange juice. I always come to this cutesy coffee shop when I'm in town. The coffee is great, the staff is likeable, and they sell a variety of locally made knick-knacks that are sure to get your wife or girlfriend to buy some stuff you don't really need. Also, it's one of the few places in the region that feels moderately hip, and not drowning in redneck realness. Would highly recommend.

We were staying in Helen and drove out to see a covered bridge. When we passed this place and saw "espresso", our car came to a screeching halt. First, the place is SO cute - a house that's a coffee shop! There's plenty of free parking. We went inside and the inside was just as cute (there's plenty of tables inside and nice outdoor seating). The woman inside (owner?) was unbelievably nice - like she had been your friend for your entire life. My friend got an espresso and a wonderful muffin. I LOVED it that the cups were eco-friendly and the place is organic (very Earth-friendly place - I appreciate that). I wasn't getting a coffee because I had already had coffee (I'm a 1-cuper). The lady suggested "decaf" and I think I replied that decaf was similar to "swill". Well, she said - please try mine. She explained how it was decaffeinated and said to trust her. I did trust her and got a cup of decaf. It was AMAZING!! Really, so delicious. We came away with such a lovely impression of this amazing place. We were only in town 2 days, but the next morning we went back and my friend got another espresso. They also serve muffins and food, and I wish I had been there long enough to try something else. I love supporting small, independent businesses! This was a charming place - find it and go there for a great cup of coffee and super-friendly service!
