The staff was super friendly and helpful. And patient. The inside is super cool with a punk rock type vibe. Cool place. I'll definitely be back. ❤️
Great personal service and laid back atmosphere. Best spot in town.
I've been drinking coffee here for 13 years. The current owners (at least the last 6 or 7 years) are the best!. The coffee speaks for itself, service is great and the atmosphere is absolutely local!
Not only is there coffee phenomenal but the people there are friendly and they have plenty of seating. I come here really often and love it every time
Love my neighborhood coffee shop! Comfy vibe, super friendly employees, and a great place to meet clients!
Great vibe, serves and sells Intelligentsia coffee which is good. Nothing too fancy, but the atmosphere and staff are awesome.
Just the way a meetup spot should be. Comfortable and homey
Great place to grab a cup of coffee sit down, enjoy yourself, and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.
Good place for groups to sit and chat. If you need a quiet environment to do work this is not the place for you. They have lot of food options too, though not all veg friendly
Every time I go in, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful as I try to figure out what I want from the menu. I just went today and a gentleman with salt and pepper locs( I wish I knew his name) was such a breath of fresh air as he was patient with me as I couldn't make up my mind. He smiled the whole time and answered all my questions. Plus he called me beautiful so that was icing on the cake lol. Atmosphere is cozy and quiet. Great shop!
Great spot to work! Friendly service and free wifi. I can't say much about the coffee because I didnt order any, but they have a nice little selection of other foods and drinks for those not looking for coffee. Chill atmosphere. There is pretty good parking as long as it isn't a busy weekend night or an event going on. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because sometimes all the tables are taken so there is no place to work. But don't be discouraged by the tables. That isn't usually the case. You should definitely check this place out. I think you will be glad you did.
Great place to get good coffee with friends or by yourself. Love the staff and the atmosphere.
One of my favorite coffee shops, and reasonable prices too. The inside can be busy and a little distracting if you're looking for a quiet environment in which to focus, but the back patio is huge and quite nice. Additionally, certain employees can be a bit of a dick, but that's to be expected, considering. (Rating lowered appropriately)
Wish I had found this place years ago. Delightful!!!
Favorite coffee joint in atl
Lovely environment to enjoy a cup.
Coffee just isn’t the same. Moved from EAV in 2009 and still miss Joes. The Coffee, desert, staff and owners are all amazing.
First spot I visited for coffee when getting to Atlanta. Charming spot with decent coffee, great art on the walls, and friendly service.
Best espresso in Atlanta. Staff is great, no hipster attitude.
Very good coffee.
Love this place! Office away from home...long way...D.C.
Yummmm. Love this place.
The staff is amazing and the Chicken Sausage quiche is to due for!! A must experience, cozy joint.
Cool spot good customer service and good coffee
Better than Starbucks and prices are better. Service is better. Damn this is a real coffee house. Please drink locally! Staff was amazing!
Friendly service, good conversation & vibes in a homey, small town atmosphere.
Nice, comfortable spot. Very relaxing atmosphere and good coffee.
Great work place or meet up. Sweet staff. Diverse crowd. Everyone is comfortable.
One of my stomping grounds. Thus place has a great selection of coffee and desserts. The atmosphere is so relaxed. I can watch my Korean Dramas, budget and have great conversations here. This is one of my home away from home places right here. The people are really nice who come here and sociable. This place can get crowded at certain times though.
Love this place, great cappuccinos and lattes and the pastries are irresistible.
Staff is super friendly! LOVE the ambiance and vibe of the cafe... if you are in need of a real boost try the Jittery Joe & throw in a slice of their delicious cakes. So glad I found this place..
I love the leather chair. Wish they had more food options, best lattes ever though.
Cozy cafe nestled in East Atlanta Village. Wish they had a larger selection of non-dairy milks though
Great atmosphere and great coffee. Love small non chain coffee shops like this! Also they play great old school music! Perfect environment to focus and get work done!
very real place, not generic in any way! employees are fun and the people are spirited and lively. college students, and professors, artists, and real people of every kind. no time for labels, real people who don't need drama. Relaxed and fun and lots of calm, friendly people not in a hurry and not obsessed!
Very cool coffee shop with lots of character, nestled in a very cool community. My running group meets here regularly, and I look forward to the coffee at the end.
Been getting my coffee here for almost 15 years. Love it so much!!
Chill environment to relax or work. Drinks are good. Location is great. Staff is ok. IG: @leia.bray
This place has the most amazing staff and their coffee is like no other!!!
I love the coffee at Joe's. I used to go there often. After not being in that area much, for awhile, I'm glad to be spending more time in EAV. Great regular, black coffe!
Very local coffee shop, you can tell this is everyone's go to. Didn't try the coffee, but they had lots of yummy homemade cakes and variety of Italian sodas available, very refreshing on a hot and humid day. Comfortable seating, tables, arm chairs, and sofas - great to sit with friends or bring a book/laptop, you can easily spend a few hours here.
Good ole Grundy coffee shop. With real humans
This place is wonder the customer service is awesome!!!
Love this place, but it's always busy. Don't feel shy asking someone to share a table. Good service and great desserts.
Perfect lattes, awesome local atmosphere, hungry in the best mid 90s coffee shop kinda way
Great coffee and friendly staff. $1 refills! Laid back work spaces, lots of tables.
Been going here since last year. Always fabulous.
Joe’s East Atlanta Coffee Shop acted as the visitor’s center of EAV for me. First time in the neighborhood I was welcomed with a bright, earthy Flecha Roja Colombian coffee which was only $2.35 for a medium. The roasted bean suppliers are Intelligentsia, which I’ve seen all over Atlanta, but Joe’s has a wide variety of options. They have the largest croissants I’ve seen in my life (25 years exactly as of today, thanks for the HBD). This place was popping with people hanging out and also getting some work done on a Saturday morning. Solid spot all around.
Great location, super friendly staff, good selection at good prices. It’s a nice space to hang out too.
Warm friendly place to stop and watch the world. Employees and customer set a relaxed and open climate.
Im sorry, its quaint but dingy & dirty.... too many cords to step over and the space is beyond tight
Independent coffee spot with all the good feels inside. Not a ton of seating, but there always seems to be a spot when you need it!
I have a lot of memories at Joe's. My wife and I started dating when I used to live in East Atlanta. It always had a an eclectic and comfy feel to it. Its clean but not too organized. Keeps it very casual and welcoming. The coffee and snacks are consistently good and the baristas are always friendly and relaxed.
Love the spot and customer service#1.coffee was not my favorite.
Great coffee, a slice of Red velvet cake= heaven
Lovely, cozy atmosphere. The staff are quick and polite. I love their Italian sodas and their selection of cakes and sandwiches are always tasty. The prices aren't high at all so it can be quite tempting to go back on the daily!
I got a plain latte here, in a real mug, it was fantastic. The staff was really nice as well. Will be back for sure.
Not the best coffee or cakes I've ever had, but the prices are decent and I love the atmosphere. The staff has always been extremely nice and helpful.
My go to coffee shop in Atlanta. Best coffee best staff, best baked goods.
Joe's has a very pleasant and warm environment. The staff are great and super friendly. The coffee is also good and relatively cheap. They also serve delicious cakes made by a local bakery, Metrotainment Bakery.
Best people ever and amazing atmosphere! Love this place
Kind people willing to offer help.
Cute place and my smoothie was delicious!
Stumbled on this coffee shop while staying overnight in East Atlanta. Great staff who are super nice, great coffee, and a delicious cheddar bacon bialy! I'm from Portland and it felt like I was back home, so I'll definitely be back when I am around here again!
best place to get work done. the staff are amazing!
Always the best. My original and favorite ATL coffeehouse. Eggs?
Really neat spot to relax and meet people and the Barista are so nice the hibiscus, lemongrass, tea is Amazing
1st time I've stopped in and I've lived nearby for years. It was definitely worth the wait. The staff was great, the drink was phenomenal & the selection of treats is massive.
Great coffee. Nice place to chill--very laid back.
visited about four, it was not full. next time i'll be back with my relatives.
Great coffee, service and atmosphere. Limited food options available (mostly of a flour/sugar type). Customer loyalties run deep. Not just a generic commercial establishment, rather part of the fabric of the EAV community. Great notice board for all the upcoming acts at local venues.
Tasty beverages with friendly service.
Great place i often meet my potential partners there
The vegan zucchini bread BLEW me away. As a traditional Southern gal who loads up her zucchini bread with eggs, butter, and sugar, I could hardly believe that a vegan version could rival my own. Super staff, loads of coffee, and a cozy place to nestle up with your laptop or a good book. I wish Joe's was in Uptown!
Best coffee in eav
Cool place to get work done. People watch. Back patio for smokers. Jittery Joe & Americastro are good choices of caffeine. Add coconut milk.
Great atmosphere, nice artwork, and the staff is extra cool. nice pastries and breakfast type edibles. love the coffee been coming here for three years strong love it!
Americano is awesome! ☕ Cute, quaint, and cozy!
Drinks were good place was crowded I don't think they had are though
The staff is the greatest. The best desserts are offered here.
Quite place for studying or quick meeting. The painting there are beautiful and the service was good.
Epitome of local, laid-back dive of a coffee klatch. Plenty of uniqueness and the complete opposite of a chain. The only thing uniform are the letters on the menu. Mismatch furniture that delights or repels. Coffee is good, I guess -- my unsophisticated palate can only discern the presence or absence of caffeine. Good background music. Hard for you to tell but I do like Joe's.
This is a great place owned by some really respectful and nice people i couldn't recommend a better coffee shop.
Eclectic, fun, good coffee, great vibe. I'll be back.
Best people, best latte. Just take all my money, I love you guys.
One of my favorite places in Atlanta. Good vibes, good coffee, great staff.
Always stop by when I'm in town. Great spot.
My first time here but the experience has been pleasant. I ordered a chai latte in a ceramic mug as I was planning to be here for a while. There's a power strip for convenience and you can choose a communal table, an old vintage desk, individual table, stool at the bar or one of the couches to sit on. WiFi is ok
The owner is such a nice guy. And the jalapeno bagel is amazing. Great coffee too!
A fun and funky East Atlanta Village coffee shop with an amazing selection of baked goods from Emerald City Bagels right across Glenwood Avenue, along with the largest and flakiest croissants outside of France. The perfect place to relax with a mug of coffee or enjoy an eclectic crowd as you type away on your laptop.
The best spot to get coffee in Atlanta. The vibe is cool, they have board games and comfy chairs, and the prices aren't ludicrous like some of the higher end coffeehouses (I'm looking at you Revelator, with your stupid $8 UNTOASTED bagel.)
Enjoyed an iced mocha and brownies and say at window counter. Was pleasant spring afternoon stop.
Spacious coffee house in East Atlanta Village. Nice tea. Good baked goods. Did not try coffee
The iced latte hits the spot, and the environment is cozy. Only reason I wouldn't give another star is that the coffee itself could be better.
They make really good coffee and espresso drinks, consistency.
Awesome coffee shop. Morning staff (customer service) is superb. They have better Chai then Starbucks!
Cool, friendly staff. Chill atmosphere. Nice place to relax with a book or catch up on work.
Good coffee, unique atmosphere, bathroom could have used a cleaning. Free wifi. Needs more seating - always crowded when I've gone (which is a good sign!)
Great real coffee house!
Very nice spot for a cup of joe. Lattes, caps, Americano. Great deserts also. Cool place to meet up and discuss business or just chill out.
I can't say enough about this place. Heart coffee, amazing selection off breads and pastries, with some of the nicest folks in East Atlanta. Always eager to serve and everyone is welcome!
You can't go wrong with Joe's. It can become a little rowdy noisy crowded and sometimes there are moments when it's quiet, complete silence, and you can hear your own breathing. Just kidding, you'll hear someone smirk, laugh, breathe, or fart before you hear your own breathing. I'm kidding about the fart. Some days the lines are long and some days the lines are short when you want to order your coffee. Usually in the mornings there's a busy rush and the lounge is busy throughout the day. A mix of trendy people minding their business. The owner or manager is hipster cool and understanding; the staffs are also laid back and helpful. I mostly order the hot beverages that include a hot Joe, iced Joe, or an espresso shot and hot tea mix in one. You can pour your own creamer, milk, soy... The mochas and lattes are nice but sweeter than sweet. They've plentiful of sweeter items for example cakes, cookies, cupcakes, granola bars, and individual packaged snack bars. I like their quiches.
Counter culture oriented decor and ambiance. Fast service and tasty caffeine products.
Awesome coffee with exceptionally friendly staff. I am in Atlanta for business often and always start my day at Joe's. The coffee is top notch and the customer service is as good as it gets. I enjoy the friendly and open feel of the place and the diverse crowd who come to work, network, socialize or just grab their cup and go. In addition to the coffee and the cool vibe, Joe's offers breakfast breads such as my favorite, rosemary sea salt bagel and cakes from a local bakery.
Love it. Just found this place. Great coffee from Chicago - intelligentsia. Friendly baristas. Lots of chairs, tables and outlets to study. Lovely paintings on the wall. Very cozy
Always friendly service. I'd love to see them expand their menu to offer lite breakfast options. Let them know RealtorRob with Keller Williams Buckhead referred you! #RealtorRobslist
This place is the quintessential neighborhood coffee shop. Complete with a collection of eclectic local patrons, it is a place of great service, great ambiance and most importantly, great coffee. Kudos to the owners and staff of Joe's!
Joe's always gets all of my orders right and the staff is so kind they like to ask you how your day is how it's going and if you come there enough they'll get to know you and then ask you about your family and it's really nice because it feels like you have a connection to somebody who just works in a coffee shop because you see them all the time and I would highly recommend Joe's because their food is delicious and their drinks are delicious and they have amazing staff!
I love the people and the coffee blends are excellent. It’s my favorite neighborhood coffee shop ☕️
I love this place. I come here frequently to loiter and drink coffee. They accommodate your special requests when it comes to drinks and there is always a place to plug in your computer.
The most traditional coffee shop in EAV. The attendment is always good.
The staff is always very welcoming and friendly. And I love the zucchini bread.
Great place to grab a comfortable chair and some coffee if you dont want to bar hop
a gem in the EAV. great coffee and baked goods. nice place to get work done or meet up with friends.
Very true to EAV -- cute/eclectic/just the right amount of weird. Would highly recommend as a space to camp out on a laptop and get some work done!
This is my favorite spot to study and work in the whole city. A wide selection of comfy chairs, big tables, and smaller seating areas so there are plenty of choices. Plenty of extension cords and power strips so you can always find an open plug. Super friendly staff, delish pastries, and they have fruit smoothies, which is great for non-coffee drinkers. Love this place so much.
This was my first time. I googled late night coffee shop, it popped up, had great reviews and off I was. Lol. I must say it has such a cool, and relaxing vibe. Love the decor, exposed brick, coffee/tea options, the general vibe. It was just all peace. I will definitely be visiting again to do my studies or just to read and unwind.
Cool vibed here. Coffee was good.
A True Treasure! Always amazing!
This place reminds me of a coffee shop back home! Love the people that work there very inviting and warm! My husband works in the area and introduced me to the place! I had never been there so didnt know the drink menu well so i just described the drink i wanted and it was made perfectly!!!! Great place!!!!
Some of the best coffee and service in town, period. Can't say enough great things.
Consistently the most courteous baristas in town, and most of them have worked there for years, so management must not be terrible. Also, the cakes they sell (not made on premises) are fantastic, the crowd is diverse and the vibe is chill. Oh, and the coffee's pretty dang good.
Great coffee shop in East Atlanta village - love the dark roast and the staff is the best in town! Unique spot that is relaxing to hang out with friendly faces.
Bomb coffee, chill atmosphere, & huge delicious brownies. If you live in this area this is your coffee shop.
Cool shop. Caramel cortado was fairly warm but good flavor. I had it to go and still got some milk art.
Excellent environment. Great staff. Solid coffee and food. Fair prices.
Great little coffee shop. I just wish it served lunch. They now fill coffee growers, too!
I love Joe's it's a very comfortable place to have a cup of coffee and catch up on work with the convenience of free WiFi. I was so relaxed I didn't realize I was there for two hours!! Definitely a favorite place
My go-to spot for cake! Staff is always great.
Love this place! For years it's been my favorite coffeehouse. Amazing coffee (Intelligentsia), talented baristas, cool music. A must if you're an unpretentious coffee purist.
Great vibe, good damn coffee
Great coffee and atmosphere. However, the staff is what really makes this place awesome. They are top notch!
Great coffee and decent prices. If you're looking for a local coffee joint, this is the place! A lot of space to work in if you want to bring your laptop as well.
I've been coming to Joe's regularly for 6 years now. Their coffee has gotten me through 2.5 degrees, and I don't know what I'd do without this place! Joe's uses Intelligentsia espresso, which I've always found to be very solid. They have a good selection of cakes to choose from if you want something sweet, and there is plenty of seating with big tables if you really need to hunker down. The baristas are also very nice here. All in all, Joe's has a friendly, hole-in-the-wall vibe that you can't get at a chain. Pro-tip: The only tricky part is parking, but it's usually easy to grab a spot in the parking lot between Argosy and The Earl, which is right down Flat Shoals toward Moreland Ave.
Smelled musty. Grunge dirty.
Very nice place to chill with your laptop and latte. Great desserts and friendly service, but not the place to go to curb real hunger (limited food menu). It has an eclectic and cozy setting where you can chat, read a book or play a round of scrabble. The ambiance is pretty consistent with the East Atlanta Village vibe. Reasonable pricing and fair amount of parking nearby.
My favorite place to meet, to talk, to hang, and create. An excellent taste of the artistic flare that east Atlanta has to offer. Also try the coconut cake!!
Best coffee shop in Atlanta.
Staffs (1-2) are quick to greet, and assistant to guests, fast service in getting brewed coffee, latte, espressos, or desserts. Sometimes asking too much questions during peak hours will take few minutes to service your drink. Self-service on creamer or dairy products (grab from the refrigerator) but be sure to put it back. No outdoor tables but they offer a bench outside for seating near the window ledge. Self serviced on dishwares, there's a bucket to put your mugs or plates in. Please be courteous to remove your mugs and plates to the nearby black bucket (next to trash bin, few steps from sugar cadies).
Joe's is an Awesome spot to meet your client, network or just have a greater cup of Joe. You can't go wrong with the coffee. It's great and the people are nice and very cool. Differences does not mean weird, it means different. Individuals. That's what makes the world a great place as well as East Atlanta. Truly.
Coffee here is good , dessert are great , a little on the pricy side,2 coffee and slice of cake. $15
Nice community coffee shop and friendly vibe
The coffee and snack selections are fantastic, and the employees are always happy to see you. You can catch the local EAV gossip and advertise on their bulletin board. It's also a great place to work; they've got an eclectic set of furniture - including a desk! This is honestly one of my favorite parts of living in EAV.
Best espresso I had in States (not that I had many)
It was all good. Grand Marnier cheesecake off the chain
I love this little coffee shop. Their cold brew and scones are delicious!
Great meeting space ! It’s usually packed so the best time is hard to find lol. It’s quaint and cozy. Smells amazing of coffees and pastries. It can get pretty chatty during busy times.
Great tasting coffee served in a casual atmosphere with great artwork. Definitely will be returning.
Great coffee. And Great smoothies. Like it and highly think others should pay it a visit
Great service, friendly baristas, and good beverages
Good coffee, need a little cleaning. Has charm though.
Just what I needed - sat at the big desk. Are you in it right now?
Great People, Great Coffee..what else do you need?
Very,very good people
Absolutely the best coffee shop I've ever visited. Very kind staff. Excellent menu. Very comfortable, accommodating , hospitable atmosphere.
Great Coffee! Snacks were expensive and not very tasty. Service and atmosphere was great as well
Great coffee, staff, and atmosphere
