So delicious! Huge portions and definitely shareable. Love going on weekdays as the wait is not usually too long. This place is always busy though. And for good reason. Breakfast is so quick and so good! Variety of options for vegetarians and other dietary restrictions. A great cup of coffee and awesome, friendly service. What’s not to love? One of my favorite breakfast spots in the city. Pancakes were my fav you must try!

Derrick Cooper

Great place for family and friends. Food was awesome

Marie Hernandez

All you need to know is COMFY CHICKEN BISCUIT. If you've never been, this is the dish that will have you coming back again and again. I always get poached eggs on the side to make it even more amazing. But truthfully, this chicken dish is perfect already. The fried pork chop & sausage gravy is also a good option. It will have you full all day.Heads up, weekends are super busy. Be ready to wait in line. On the upside, you can drink fresh brewed coffee while you wait. Just grab a cup and serve yourself. It's on an honor system. So when you are seated, just tell your server you got .If you're flying solo or with another person, you're likely to be able to grab a seat sooner by looking for an opening at the bar. That one is first come first served. Also there's a knock knack store inside the diner. So you can browse around while you wait. Most of the art on the wall are for sale.

Richard Percival

First time at Home grown and it was great. Had the fried chicken sandwich. A must try again.

Gwen Cox

We like the food and laid-back environment. BUT there's always a wait, even if you get seated right away. You'll like it if you want to eat a lot, see weird art on their walls and to people watch. If you are starving, eat a snack before getting there. It's not fancy at all, don't judge by its exterior look. I have been here twice and I love the food. I just tried the fried pickles and had the comfy chicken. Both times the biscuits have been thick and melt in your mouth good!!!. The pickles are from a local company called Doux South and they were excellent. Staff is friendly and it is very casual.

Tammy Farrar

Fabulous food, quirky atmosphere and friendly hipster staff. The owners run the place themselves and are very down to earth.

Norman Thompson, Jr

Fantastic place! Busy, but sat down within 15 minutes. In town for the weekend and Google recommend Home Grown GA and thank you Google, because this place is AMAZING!!! Though the Comfy Chicken Biscuit was flavorful, filling and delicious, the plate presentation made me feel like something was missing. If I ever come back to the area, this is a definite place I WILL come back to, again and again!

Justin

Absolutely amazing. Best southern biscuits you'll find and everything else is fantastic, too

patricia bonnick

Good food, friendly service....the wait is long though especially on suns

Everett Nally

Fresh home made comfort food. Breakfast all day, fresh veggies and a variety of vegetarian friendly dishes. Casual, homey atmosphere and friendly service. Parking can get creative so it pays to come at off hours from traditional meal times.

Ron Welcome

This place is a quaility (breakfast) spot. I been here a few times. Breakfast is my preference. The service is pleasant & the establishment is quite eclectic. Yes, I'd recommend this restaurant.

P. Nice

Great Food and Staff. A little pricey, but worth it

Kyle Mitofsky

Five stars isn't enough. Some of the best home-style southern cooking around. Full of southern hospitality from a friendly staff that keeps the place bustling with great service. And cooking that you would be proud to serve to your mom. Definitely worth the visit to Atlanta alone.

pap3rb01

Excellent customer service and even more excellent food!

Sade Y

This place is amazing. It's like mama cooking you breakfast. I was amazing. They have these potatoes..omg they are so delicious. The grits were great. I ordered the French toast.. yummy. Their pancakes are huge.. you can share one pancake. I will definitely visit this place again when I'm back in town.

Patti Evans

It was delicious! everything i tried was amazing. Theres good vibe and its super busy. I really liked the fact that you can grab coffee and serve your self while you wait. I tried the fried chicken sausage gravy cheesy grits chili, everything. Wish the floor was more diverse but the food was great.

Kay Welch

Hall-in-the-Wall feel, great prices, good service, and amazing food. It’s where people from Atlanta actually eat on the regular. Hipster vibe as well. The food was good, but some of the decorations on the wall were a bit creepy. I heard a lot of great things about this restaurant, but I got to say I was a little disappointed. Eclectic, kitschy little place that you would expect to find in Portland, not Atlanta! Great service, delicious and creative food, that is all made from scratch. I had a fabulous fresh bagel with goat cheese, tomatoes and bacon.

Melody Thomas

Really like this place -- great atmosphere, quickly seated even when there are loads of people, and a solid breakfast. There's even an adorable thrift store in the back!

Obediah

My wife and our friends flew to Georgia from Orlando to this restaurant that my wife had read about. We took an Uber from the airport and when we'd arrived there. We weren't sure about the place because it didn't look fancy. We sat down and I ordered the shrimp and grits. The plate came out and I didn't waste anytime digging in because I was starving. OMG! The most delicious shrimp and grits I have ever tasted in my life. I gave my friends a spoonful from my plate and they'd ordered a second plate for themselves. I can't wait to go back. Sincerely, Obadiah

Sunshine Richards

I've never gotten something I didn't like. Pancakes are huge and fluffy. The vegetarian gravy is actually really good, even for non-vegetarians. The comfy is a classic. My friends substitutes texas toast for the biscuit, still just as amazing. Everything is fresh and not grease laden! Breakfast and lunch options are both equally spectacular.

Amber Hart

Family Meals and the setting at this location is great. visited at eight, it was not full. the service was very welcoming and observant. this place has a cool atmosphere.

Jesse Mignogna

Good selection of meals. Nice atmosphere as well. I had the breakfast tacos. We also had a cheese dip appetizer that was tasty

brianna stough

Delicious southern style food with Vegetarian options! As a group we had the Perfect fried okra, vegan sloppy joe with Mac n cheese, Fried catfish with green beans, and chicken livers. Everything was outstanding. The cornbread was too dense and dry (overmixed) for my liking but otherwise try it all! Banana pudding topped off the affordable experience!

Marguerita Smith

Small place with eccentric atmosphere, great fresh food bought from local farmers and excellent service! Definitely will be back

Janay Scott

I love the atmosphere and food quality at Home grown. I've been here about 8 x's already and they've never disappointed me. The area is developing, parking is a scavenger hunt for sure. I truly hope this restaurant expands to accommodate the numerous of customers both frequent and new customers. I've recommended this place to many friends and family members! Go eat and enjoy!!!! Thanks to the Staff & Management for excellent service.

Nate Templer

First off, if I could give more than 5 stars I would. We are visiting Atlanta for the weekend so I just googled for breakfast places in the area. We lucked into finding Home Grown! We went in a little after 8am, and got seated immediately on a Friday morning. It was delicious and the service was awesome. I had the comfy chicken, which was very good and filling. The wife had a turkey sausage biscuit with eggs that she says were “perfectly done.” I would definitely recommend Home Grown for breakfast, and we will probably visit again before we head home.

Chad Holland

Best fried chicken biscuits and gravy I've ever had.

Simon Smith

It was delicious! everything i tried was amazing. Theres good vibe and its super busy. I really liked the fact that you can grab coffee and serve your self while you wait. I tried the fried chicken sausage gravy cheesy grits chili, everything. Wish the floor was more diverse but the food was great.

Joshua Zuniga

You can't go wrong with the comfy chicken biscuit! For a slightly lighter option I'd recommend the chef's omelette, very tasty. If you're trying to get wild go with the French toast sandwich. And definitely get the fried green tomatoes!

Mildred Reed

Best breakfast in town!! Come early and find the best southern breakfast around- the portions are generous and the service is fast and friendly. The sweet tea is better than yo mamas! Make sure you get a refill to go!!

GARRETT G

Really great place. Had the spicy steak biscuit that was freaking delicious. If I lived closer I'd probably spend every dollar I ever had there! Quick, polite service, and basically everything you could want from a diner/restaurant

Ray Garza

I was surprise food was very very good good Services very friendly

Verinique Cooper

I ordered the Chef Omelette and Pancake. Sooooo delicious and filling. Everything tasted fresh and The pancake was so big I had to finish it later. Definitely returning!

Kiala Houseworth

It’s not what it used to be. The portions are smaller, the staff is “dry”, and the food quality is mediocre at best. I had the comfy chicken and though the chicken was perfectly tender and crispy, the gravy still had a raw flour taste and not much flavor and the biscuit felt left over. My boyfriends veggie omelette had a fishy taste and was sitting in a bed of oil. He couldn’t eat the side of bacon which he described as jerky because it was so cold and chewy. The staff wasn’t very friendly and didn’t smile or say much to us including our waitress. Needless to say, I’d never go back.

Jean Rouse

Good food - neighborhood diner atmosphere. Totally worth stopping by

Lisa Love

Cupcakes (red velvet) are the best I've ever eaten. great food and customer service...

Jennifer Mansell

This place is great! Love the fried okra.

Angie Huff

Recommend it! Good food and Service

Theresa Deese

Bad experience sweaty and dirty looking workers digging and scratching on their bodies all while serving your food. I totally got turned off and to top it off dead fleas and flies in window seal. The place looked very dirty and unclean. People walking around serving food in regular clothes and looked like they haven’t bathed at all. I don’t suggest this place to anyone. It had great reviews but idk how the parking here is horrible must park two blocks or more up the road. Silverware was dirty and place needs a deep cleaning.

Sidnee Freeman

Very good food. Had breakfast for lunch. The pancakes were amazing! Staff seemed nice and on top of everything for our order. Would visit again.

Kyle Lee

Excellent Breakfast spot! Staff is always friendly and fast! My friend and I both ordered the comfy chicken biscuit today and we literally got it 3 minutes after ordering! Super fast service and our waiter was amazing! The best breakfast in Atlanta!

Sam Keske

Worth the wait, but also good for off-peak hours. The signature dish (chicken biscuit with gravy) is really special to Atlanta, even if grits aren't the best. Eclectic art - appropriately weird for the east side. Going to get even busier by 2019 with new nearby developments. Diverse crowds reference the widespread appeal.

Roderick Joiner

Great food. Good customer service. Reasonably priced. It's a mainstay...

Leslie Leonard

Delicious Southern comfort food, big menu, lots of great vegetarian options and some vegan choices as well. Breakfast served all day! So so so tasty.

Christopher Bahm

Great food great service decent prices.

Maxine Sanders

I love Home Grown. The food was excellent and great service. Not a long wait, even when it’s busy. I am a vegan so I got The vegan friendly sloppy joe.

Tanisha Branch

The food, the atmosphere, the staff was all amazing. My husband and I are always looking for a new restaurants and we have found one in Home Grown. We will be back.

Joel Humphrey

Always consistent, great tasting, comfort food. The "comfy chicken biscuit " is highly recommended.

Idaly Roark

First visit impression. Cute and welcoming atmosphere. Excellent waitress. Had the salmon patties and they were too salty to appreciate the taste of the salmon. The fried green tomatoes are very good, probably excellent if they had been hot. If I had known they drench the food with pimento cheese I would have asked for it on the side because it does not add anything to the food. The Mac n cheese is very good. Would like to try the breakfast menu sometime.

John Silver

1st time visitor....loved the atmosphere, the staff, and the food !

Christian Restrepo

The best mother loving breakfast food in Atlanta. I just heard somebody compare this place to flying biscuit and i corrected that ish real quick. Try it. It’s good.

Daphne Dunning

Breakfast was pretty good here! I was a bit disappointed in my pancake on this visit, but I’ve had better here so I’ll let it slide. This place is great if you’re a blogger or traveler looking for an affordable hearty plate with a family feel. The artwork for sale and the store provides great gifts and souvenirs to remember your visit.

Caleb Kirksey

Everything you could want in a neighborhood breakfast place. Excellent grits, eggs, and bacon. The prices are very reasonable too.

Conni Burley

Amazing food, fabulous service and adorably quaint spot! We had six different meals and everyone was raving!!! A MUST go!

Andie Sweetswirl

Good is always amazing and they have a little vintage shop in the back. The art is super cool! They're usually super busy and there's a wait. But the wait is worth it.

Beau Salsi

I come here almost every week with my wife and toddler. Do not be discouraged if you are arrived and the restaurant looks packed. They always have tables ready and the service has never been impacted by big crowds. They are always fast and the food has always been great. Do not miss out on the "comfy" which is fried chicken topped with gravy and served open faced on a home made biscuit.

Kaitlyn Sitro

Homegrown is a favorite spot of mine. Every time I go the food is fantastic and the service is great. Vegan-friendly. Love their soysage. Cute little thrift shop in the back as well that you can look in while waiting for your table!

Shannon K. Byrdsong - Your Fit Realtor

A friend treated me to breakfast here and it was delicious! I ordered the French toast and turkey sausage. Prices are reasonable and the service & seating was very quick. The server had their hands full, so he wasn't as attentive as I'd like & we had to ask other servers to grab him a couple times. My friend had the Everything Bagel, eggs and sausage & enjoyed. Diverse menu and lots of options. Parking was a headache, but worth the annoyance.

Justin Poiroux

Incredible place! Home grown has very very good service and food. The wait was very long but that only makes sense for a place this good. It was definitely worth it.

David Hensley

There are plenty of breakfast options, obviously, but this one takes the cake. If you can survive the ridiculously surely hosts then you are in for a treat. Ask for Miss Kris. Her impeccable service and warm hearted nature made our entire visit. My food could have been hotter, but the service won us overall and will bring us back, hence the 5 stars.

Mark Crafton

One of the best breakfast spots in Atlanta hands down - good breakfast and homey vibe!

Aaron Sanchez

I had the country chicken and biscuits with sausage gravy on top, and it was amazing. My wife had the fried pork chops and that was delicious as well. Would give it 5 stars but the parking was bad. Parking lot is too small.

Ebony Williams

Not to good. Food wasn't season right. Grits didn't taste like grits. A lot of the food had to much batter on it and it was bland.

Nicholas Lemaster

Simple southern cooking at its best. Always packed but well worth the wait. Definitely a must trying in the ATL.

NaTosha Porter

Very good fresh food. Love their dark art humor

Sileena Carmichael

The cheesey grits was amazing I also loved the chef omelette my husband had the chicken biscuits and gravy we will be back I can't wait

Daniel Harris

Literally the best comfort breakfast food I have ever had.

Jake Taylor

It’s worth the wait! Great breakfast spot! The fried green tomatoes are perfect and the fried chicken, biscuits and gravy are so good. The pancakes are as big as your head and so fluffy. And the bacon is the nice fatty kind. Love this place!

David Cross

A really great and eclectic place that stays super packed, but the wait is worth it! Our breakfast was excellent and service was fast and friendly. Pancake was bigger than my head and was delicious! Our server was very attentive and friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the fun resides inside where this is art on the walls from local artists that's for sale. There's also lots of desserts and coffee is sitting in a pot at your discretion and is based on an honor system where you inform your server. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but that's due to the large crowds trying to get into o see what all of the commotion is all about. Go and see for yourself. You'll be glad that you did!!!

Lori George

First time visiting. We went on Saturday for brunch. The food was awesome! Right down to the flavor, portions sizes, items on the menu and pricing. It was SO busy. But the staff was great. Normally you would experience poor service at a place as busy as this. But our waitress Anna was on top of it. And just from looking around the room, all the other waiters and waitresses were very attentive. Will definitely be back with more people. The owners should be very proud of their restaurant. All the customers had smiles on their faces.

Black Beauty

My fiance and I just visited here the food was great and the customer service was outstanding. Maybe you guys can teach a thing or two to the Flying Biscuit employees at the McLendon location. Thanks Homegrown you guys rock!!!

Merlin Armstrong

Worth the wait! Absolutely stunning upscale Southern food, served in a funky, artsy environment. There's a second hand shop in the back where an elderly gentleman plays jazz on a vibraphone. Resist if you can.

Johanna Baidya

The most delicious breakfast I've ever had! Worth the wait! Absolutely loved the service! Great ambiance too!

Cameron Jones

Do you know when you talk about your mothers cooking and say it tastes like home? This is this place to me. Everything just tastes...right. Like im back home and its all okay. love it

Chris Craig

Great food as always. My companions for breakfast got served cold coffee, but it was remedied. Always a great place to go!

cynthia real

Love this place! The breakfast tacos were amazing! The service is excellent!!! This place is a must.

Sylvia Staton-hankerson

Girl at register need to know how to great guest. She didn't even thank us for spending our money at this restaurant. Luckily there are plenty of other good breakfast spots.

Cherie Schafer

Best EVER Shrimp n Grits and Fried green tomatoes I've ever had in my life. Food was Amazing and Service was prompt and Friendly

Andrea Arbelaez

It’s TRUE..the Comfy Chicken Biscuit is unbelievably delicious! We also tried their hot pimento... life changing! Everything you want for breakfast and comfort is right here. Service was quick, staff sweet as can be. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Emilio Perez

Easily some of the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had. My wife and I have only been here twice, but both experiences were amazing. 10/10 will eat again during every visit to Atlanta.

Antonia Morales

It was delicious! everything i tried was amazing. Theres good vibe and its super busy. I really liked the fact that you can grab coffee and serve your self while you wait. I tried the fried chicken sausage gravy cheesy grits chili, everything. Wish the floor was more diverse but the food was great.

Antwan Marbley

Those pancakes are huge and amazing! The biscuits and gravy is my new favorite.

Mitchell Angus

Amazing food. Got the peach pancakes, breakfast tacos, cheese grits, and chicken and biscuit with sausage gravy. Everything was great. Probably the best fried chicken I've ever had, do yourself a favor and get the chicken and biscuit.

Tina K

Awesome and eclectic vibe. Had a good variety on the menu from regular fare to vegan options. Good staff and good food. It looks like its a local fave.

Kip Dunlap

From what I've heard this place is legendary. I was a little underwhelmed by the basic breakfast, but then I suppose it's supposed to be basic. Bike parking is high quality and right up front, much better option than trying to drive here

Danielle Hansen Nolan

Very crowded and you will likely have to wait to sit, but it is worth the wait! We were on vacation and went out of our way both days we were in town just for breakfast here! If you're looking for good southern comfort food, this is your place! I often think about returning to Atlanta just for this place!

Carol Subino Sullivan

Straightforward, plentiful and delicious! No overly fancy food here. You'll find the brunch foods you are craving and leave with a happy belly.

Eric Ramcharran

This funky place is such a great place to visit for breakfast. They let you have coffee while waiting in line. They don't like to deviate from their menu so don't expect your special order to arrive as expected. The food is great. Very cool vibe to the place. Really enjoyed it. Be prepared to wait. And don't park where they have no parking signs. The police were towing cars.

Criss Mce

Great friendly and warm environment, with a ton of character and essentric art. The coffee was awesome, the fresh squeezed orange juice refreshing and the food... Wow. This place is worth the time and extra calories!

Dawn Edleburg

There’s a wait for a reason! Possibly the BEST pancakes I’ve ever eaten. Very light and fluffy. The atmosphere is fun for such a small place and service extremely friendly. They offer many desserts which we’ll be back for

Randy Carroll

Great food if you are looking for some southern, down home cooking. Come hungry because the portions are large. If you are visiting, definitely come here for a meal before you leave.

Andres Adams

family meals, yeah, yummy. food was so appetizing. fast and courteous service. it has an awesome feel to it. this place has many good reviews for a reason.

Fannie King

It was delicious! everything i tried was amazing. Theres good vibe and its super busy. I really liked the fact that you can grab coffee and serve your self while you wait. I tried the fried chicken sausage gravy cheesy grits chili, everything. Wish the floor was more diverse but the food was great.

Mike Long

Outside Looks ghetto, inside it looks hippie. Terrible parking area, tons of people but no real wait. The food is pretty damn good though. Don’t judge this book by its cover!

Jace Austin

We were recommended by a friend. Very charming restaurant and amazing decor. Great food, creative menu and the staff was very friendly. Though the service was slow. We had to wait for an hour but worth the wait. Amazing first experience! Will surely visit soon

Brittany H.

The comfy chicken biscuit is hands down the best biscuit I've ever had. Get extra gravy! Though Homegrown has other offerings, they do breakfast best. The fried green tomatoes are better elsewhere, but when it comes to a hearty breakfast, this place gets five stars. The live xylophonist, bustling atmosphere, and eclectic mix of patrons makes for a one-of-a-kind experience. The thrift shop and ATL artwork for sale adds a special touch, and gives you the opportunity to take a little Homegrown back home.

William Martin

What an Celtic place to visit. The art on the wall is great and priced affordable if you would like to take some home. The menu was small so making a decision on what you want was pretty easy. The selection was good for how small it was. The service was very friendly. It is not a very well lit place so I will say it was clean for what I could see. I got the wild wild Wes grilled chicken with green beans. The sandwich was huge and delicious. It was a sloppy delight with juices running down your arm and well worth the 3 napkins needed. I highly recommend this place for lunch if your in the area.

Pineapple King

Food was amazing, friendly and eclectic staff, and cool art everywhere

Ella Trent

The food there is sooo good! They have great customer service and I didn’t have to wait long until the food arrived. It’s a good place to go with family. I would recommend Home grown GA Restaurant!

Melanea Alvarez

Comfy chicken & biscuts rule the brunch scene in Grant Park!

Ben Sardinas

Omg. Southern comfort food. Sooo well.done. I come to town and go HERE!

Sara Crocker

Loved the eclectic atmosphere. Food was great. Everyone with our party was happy with their meals. The Five and Dime was fun to browse through while waiting on our table. We visited on a Saturday for lunch and waited 45 minutes for a table, but it was worth the wait.

Brandon Gerard Moody

Homegrown is a staple Atlanta spot. It's not the most upscale compared to many others that are popping up every day across the gentrified landscape, but I will always a place in most locals hearts. They have the best vegan chilli I've ever tasted and the best friend pork chop breakfast plate I've ever had. No matter if you're looking for a vegetarian or traditional southern breakfast with all the fixings, you will find something to full you up here.

Link Belt

the comfy biscuit is good however a complete ripoff at $12. all you get is the biscuit. no sides. well if you dont consider gravy a side. this is not san francisco or NYC, $12 biscuits on a low end side of town isnt reasonable. would be back if the prices were somewhat reasonable for the hole-in-the-wall that it is.

Google User

Absolutely the best tasting meals! Relaxed atmosphere and great service....everyone visiting the Atlanta area should eat there. I will be back.

mccraemalcolm

Cool atmosphere and nice variety of breakfast items.

Brandy Hicks

The food is absolutely amazing! Large portions and melt in your mouth biscuts

Zachary Collins

Food was good... the service was absolutely horrible though! I am a meat lover, but I had the Vegan Sloppy Joe... it was pretty good. I tasted the Comfort Chicken Biscuit... very good. People I was with had the breakfast enchiladas... they loved them. The restaurant would be between 4-5 stars, but literally one of the worst service experiences I've experienced in a long time!

Reggie Poplus

Great food .. good service, parking and a good location. Oh, and the food is really good too!

Nolbert Roldan

Homegrown may seem like a place hidden in the concrete jungle of Atlanta but this essentric breakfast eatery would blow your mind and your taste buds. The eatery is filled with art and awesome pictures. The people their show you why the south is the friendliest people in the world with the greatest manners. The food was so good. Like eating at your mama's house and asking for more bacon. The pork chops are a must have.

Loren Gordon

Delicious omelets! Bartenders are fantastic! love the buzz I get from all the happy busy people around. Parking is a bit of a mess, but it's the city, be patient and figure it out. It's worth it. I will be back!

Aricka Crossley

Super busy breakfast establishment and the reviews are what drove us here. However, I wasn’t impressed on the food and how the servers are in regular street clothing. The place wasn’t the cleanest and that is the reason for the poor review. The server/owner was very nice but I was disappointed by how the hostess stand dropped stuff picked it up off floor didn’t wash hands then went to serving food. Silverware was dirty looking. But the food didn’t taste bad but the cleanliness of the restaurant made the review lower. The owner son and wife all seemed bubbly and friendly and I enjoyed the vibe it was actually one of the busiest breakfast spots. Parking isn’t great must park a few blocks down to get to restaurant but make sure you lock valuables up. Parking lot is very small and hard to find a parking spot.

Margery Watkins

In town for business and have been back twice this week. Breakfast is served all day and the menu has so many delicious items to choose from: my favorite - sausage gravy & biscuits, french toast, steak on a biscuit with Deux South pickles, breakfast enchiladas, breakfast tacos and fresh squeezed OJ and hot coffee. The lunch menu (starts at 11 a.m.) and also sounds good but we can't pass up breakfast! All prices include tax. Our breakfast for 2 came to $20 even and we had sausage gravy & biscuit ($4) breakfast enchiladas ($13) and coffee ($3). They close at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and parking is highly competitive. Great service. Amazing looking desserts. Eclectic clientele - everything from distinguished gray-haired gentleman in blazers to 20-somethings with lime green hair and crocheted beanies. Definitely worth a stop!

Lee Sigmon

Hands down the best breakfast in Atlanta. The eclectic decor and the musician playing the xylophone-like thingy set the mood but the real star of the show is the food. It's tough for me to not order the famous Comfy Chicken Biscuit but I'm always happy with my choice whenever I venture to other areas of the menu. My son can't get enough of the gigantic pancakes and the delicious omelettes are nearly as fluffy. Don't let the packed parking situation deter you. There are a ton of tables inside and the expert staff turn the tables quickly. I just love this place.

Jasmine Nash

It's such a cute place inside. Lots of art available to buy! Such hood good good food! I've always tried to get in for breakfast, but they do get busy! Soo glad I was able to make it. Basic breakfast is a huge plate!!

Greg Vaughn

Absolutely fantastic. Had a chicken sandwich that was great. Was jealous of everyone else because their food looked just as good. I wish I had ordered a Mac Stack to go. Living in Michigan it is not really feasible to just head here for lunch but the next time I am in the area I will stop in.

Luna Clark

I've been going to Home Grown since they opened! The Comfy Chicken is so amazing. The art gallery is unique and the vibe is always nice. Worth every visit!

Marty

Good food. Very, very noisy during peak hours; don't plan to chat much without some effort. Very friendly staff. Cute decor. There's a little .5 & Dime in the back with used items. Looks as though there is sometimes live music back there; not sure. Pay at the register on the way out and there can be a long line. Food came out promptly despite the large crowd.

John Nelms

Service is always great, even though the place is perpetually poppin. Comfort food that pulls no punches. Great flavors, big portions, unique atmosphere makes this place hard to beat for breakfast/brunch/lunch.

Christie Gordon

Great food... fresh vegetables... the tomatoes are soo good ....

Adiah C

Amazing! The staff was so friendly, the food was amazing, and there was even a live marimba player. It carries such a fresh vibe and the aesthetic is so unique. The walls are covered in art you can purchase, obviously all one of a kind. This is definitely the place to go for affordable and AMAZING dining. They could easily charge much more than they do. One of the best places I've eaten.

Chris Heller

Great value. Delicious food. Wonderful crowd. Awesome live tunes by the amazing Shady Lane and don't miss the 5 and Dime Thriftshop in back.

Simon Duncan-Watt

My favorite atlanta brunch spot. Delicious breakfast options and fast nice service. Antique store at back of diner, coffee while you wait, awesome eclectic atmosphere and art on walls. Get the comfy chicken with gravy.

Jane Lomas

My goodness, I enjoyed a delicious breakfast today. 2 eggs over medium (hate runny whites!), cheese grits and a biscuit with sausage gravy. It was soooo good. And my associate had the basic breakfast and a humongous pancake which I got to share a few bites of - breakfast dessert! Service was superb. Was so pleasantly full afterwards.

Daniel Lopez

I'm giving this place 5 stars because they did almost everything right. Good service, food, portion sizes and prices. Just be aware that it's not located in the nicest neighborhood. They have signs reminding you to lock your car. Made it hard to enjoy our meal with peace of mind. Their system at the cash register is pretty old-school, so be prepared before you reach the register if you have a big group. They divide your check there, so if you forget an item you'll end up having to do another transaction or getting your friend to cover you. It's strange. Check them out. Their breakfast burger is fantastic. Best bang for your buck.

Kiara Stephens

True southern hospitality and amazing food! Y’all are awesome. We will definitely be back!

Gwen W Carroll

This is a must try spot. Fresh, locally sourced, delightful food. Menu daily specials go quickly as regulars order early and take out. Huge delicious dessert choices. Parking is tricky. Leave no visible valuables (as per, posted signs)walk if you can. Gentrification will only make this place more popular.

Victor Hopkins

A top site for delicious Family Meals. the service here is great. it has an awesome feel to it.

This place is great. A local breakfast/lunch spot with good food, served quickly. If you like coffee with breakfast, the cup is endless, and the brew is nice. I only have one dig on Homegrown, insert eye-roll by ownership here. I have been here at least 30+ times, and I always get a slight vibe from the place. It's like when you say "thank you", you may just get an eye roll and see a back turned. Hard to pin down, but it does exist. All that said, the food is still solid, the atmosphere is great, and parking on-street is easy. Definitely worth a visit.

Great cafe diner just what I like. Biscuits and gravy seemed fresh made from scratch. Service was good and no wait at all to get a table. It's pretty big inside, lots of tables and larger tables for big groups

The food is great. I had the comfort chicken biscuit. We were given free fried green tomatoes since it was our first time. Our server was great. My only complaint is that other than our server, the staff weren’t real pleasant. The gentleman working the cash register seemed annoyed and the host was just kind of unpleasant. Will definitely go back.

Good atmosphere, friendly service, home cooking taste food, and freshly squeezed lemonade that is awesome. Taste of everything almost. Big portions for your monies worth.

Super fun place to eat, fun atmosphere. You're surrounded by hilarious art items for sale on the walls - and a very small thrift store in the restaurant. You'll want to wander around during or after your meal. Big portions, food was great. Unpretentious. A popular place, it was packed but plenty of seating, but we got a table right away.

Limited beer menu haddock was just ok "extra bacon" blt was no different from any other blt

20 minute wait, but was worth it. First time here and if I'm ever back in Atlanta I will definitely come back. Service was great, food was hot.

James Thomas

Great down-home cooking with a beltline influence.

Fantastic breakfast plate!! Expect to wait but also expect the wait to be worth it! The fresh squeezed orange juice is a must. The grits are so creamy! I didn't order a pancake but saw them come out and they are HUGE! I wish I would have gotten one! Great spot for friends to catch up over a really tasty home cooked meal! Loved it and will definitely be going back!

Home Grown is my favorite breakfast restaurant in Atlanta, hands down. Out of town guests are always recommended here and it’s always a consideration for a date spot

Our host looked like Alan Jackson dressed up like Easy E. He was awesome and so was the service and food. We also got some great swag and art from their little nook of curiosities in the back dining room. Get the comfy chicken biscuit.

It was delicious! everything i tried was amazing. Theres good vibe and its super busy. I really liked the fact that you can grab coffee and serve your self while you wait. I tried the fried chicken sausage gravy cheesy grits chili, everything. Wish the floor was more diverse but the food was great.

Amazing atmosphere and decor. Definitely a 5 star place if your visiting Atlanta or looking for a date spot that's not a typical burger joint

Sweetcakes Yum

I ordered fried green tomatoes, cheese grits, salmon patties and I must say everything was delicious and the price wasn't bad

One of my favorite spots to have brunch in Atlanta. The wait will most likely be long and the food is not the healthiest, but it is absolutely delicious and unapologetically southern. The atmosphere here is fantastic the restaurant is full of art made by local artists and every so often there will be live music.

Hannah Barganier

Always good food. I’ve stopped trying to visit on the weekend (2 hour wait outside). But if you have time on a weekday it’s a great place to get good diner food with friendly staff and a great price.

Nikia Martin

Great! Food was freshly prepared. I was told that the veggies were locally grown. I got a veggie plate(fresh sauteed spinach, cabbage and sweet potatoes) and it was DELICIOUS!!! The atmosphere is really laid back. Think local diner. Friendly staff. I will definitely go back.

Biscuits are amazing and while walking out saw the biggest scallop poboy I've ever seen. They never disappoint.

This was my first time to go to this restaurant. I went there for breakfast and just got the French toast, but it just tasted like burned toast with a little powdered sugar on it. The waiter was very nice and after I told him I didn't like it he asked me if I would like to order something else. I ordered the basic breakfast for $8.00 because I'm on budget. My eggs, turkey sausage, cheese grits and biscuit were all pretty good. My favorites were the cheese grits and the biscuit. All of the other items on the menu were $9.00 and up which I thought was way too much to pay for breakfast. I rated five stars because my waiter was so eager to please and he even suggested some things to do in that area.

This place was funky (in a good way)! The food was great, the staff was great and attentive. The whole fried okra was out of this world. I wonder if they would put the okra batter on the fried green tomatoes? That is the only thing I would change.

Lisa Sligh

This was truly a fantastic breakfast! The best grits I've ever eaten. I would highly recommend this place. The parking is an issue but it's worth the effort.

Makayla Denise

The food was decent, service was fast though. The temperature of the food left a lot to be desired. The flavor of the food lacked a bit. More specifically the burger. The French toast was alright. However, the syrup was surprisingly very delicious. I loved the art hanging up around the restaurant. Some art is even on sale created by local artists.

Great food and nice atmosphere. Try the salmon patties with fried green tomatoes with the famous pimento cheese! The only thing that was a concern was the lack of cleanliness at the tables. Salt shaker had old food or sauce caked on it. The tables need a deep cleaning.

Excellent!

I always have a great experience visiting hg. This restaurant is a gem, nice staff, home-like atmosphere and good food.

Taylor Chambers

Always a wait, but it's worth it! Great prices and great service. They get you in quickly.

Warren Mosby

Great food and attentive staff. Always busy - parking is a challenge during peak times.

Heather Packer

My first time there I like it. The food was good and they had vegetarian options for my mom. I would definitely go back. Chicken and biscuit was yummy.

Bill Cheatham

Our favorite go-to place for breakfast. Over the top homemade food with huge portions. Go early because it gets crowded fast. Order The “Comfy Chicken biscuit”... you can thank me later.
