REVIEWS OF Empire State South IN Georgia

Daniel Medders

Very fancy plates. I had the pork belly and was not disappointed by the plating nor taste, but the menu does change. They served these jars of different spreads and dips as an appetizer and it was very good. They also have cocktails and various drinks served that change frequently.

B.C. Smith

I love this restaurant. All of my experiences have been excellent from start to finish. Every cocktail, appetizer, and entrée I've had was delicious and better than I imagined they would be. The staff is friendly. The wait is reasonable. It's one of the best restaurants I've visited in Atlanta.

Ingrid Clausen

This dish is called superfood and it is fantastic, their coffee is delicious too. Excellent service@

Marie Hernandez

Our server was very sweet and happy to explain the menu to us. We had some yummy cocktails (Bisou Bisou and Ask Alice), which are draft cocktails that they make in house. We ended up eating a dinner that consisted of all small plates! There were so many unique ones we wanted to try, that we couldn't pick just one or two! Must try: pickled shrimp, beets (yummy yogurty dressing was a great addition), farm egg (crispy rice was super unique!), and bokchoy (lamb bacon was interesting and new). The popcorn was also great, but a bit too salty. Skip: the greens. They were a bit watery and I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be a soupy salad or cooked greens, but I wasn't a huge fan. Overall we had great service and an enjoyable evening here!

Joe Christian

Had a wonderful brunch here on a Sunday. The menu is very creative and varied. I had the “farm egg” which involved a perfectly poached egg over crispy rice, okra, corn, sausage and herbs. The server suggested stirring the egg into the dish and it was amazing! The cinnamon roll was also delicious!! Very enjoyable.

Maddy Miller

Solid brunch. Bloody Mary was pretty standard. Pimento jar with bacon marmalade and toast was out favorite app, the morning bun was tasty too. I had the steak and eggs with roasted root vegetables. Tasty but not mind-blowing. My husband had the sourdough pancakes with ricotta and apple which were very tasty. Loved the vibes on the patio. We might go back of we're in the area.

Mark Gordon

Awesome, one of the best places I've been to in Atlanta. I went with a big group and when we arrived we hung out in the bar for a while, great atmosphere. Since everyone in my group ordered something different I had an opportunity to sample several different appetizers and meals. Every single one was fantastic. My favorite was the fried rice, one of the best things I've ever eaten. Great wine selection too. I had an opportunity to chat with the sommelier, really nice guy and he obviously knows his stuff. I highly recommend Empire State South.

Had fun at the Netflix event

Chris Dixon

Great atmosphere. Phenomenal food. Pricey, but worth it.

Michelle Allen

Absolutely Fabulous!!! Unique Southern style menu with ultra flair! Impeccable Service, knowledgeable Staff

Sauniell Connally

I always enjoy when I come to ESS. The foods is great and the drinks are fantastic.

Rick Vandam

Weekday brunch fare is a bit mediocre for the area. Coffee is good as is service

Rodney Harris

I eat breakfast here a lot. I love the atmosphere and the vibe. The food is really good and well prepared.

Guillermo Hernandez

Good food good services

Steve Wang

Excellent service! Over our expectations. Food is good. Good suggestions of wine. Desert is impressive.

Pedro J. Gonzalez

The place has a very nice terrace with a bocce ball court. We shared three appetizers which were really delicious, especially the Georgia Clams. Be warned that the entree prices are on the high side.

Ravi Kang

I was expecting more given the background of the restaurant. The servers are very helpful in explaining and providing suggestions. Catfish was good but not amazing. My girlfriend's scallop dish was better. There are too many better restaurants in Atlanta for me to feel like this was 5 star. Still very good, though.

Joe Scanlan

Great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Lots of attention to locally sourcing unique and flavorful ingredients. The restaurant is rustic. A very inviting place to spend an evening. Wine selection is great. Menu is small, but very interesting. I would definitely recommend Empire State South for a fun night out.

Bill Christian

Really excellent food and thoughtful service

William Jones

Good food and good service

Scott Taylor

We so enjoyed this little upscale restaurant. It is a little unnoticeable but a really good find. Sitting at Peachtree and 10th, it's a convenient place to grab a nice meal. Service was top notch. It is a little on the pricey side and minimal meal option, but all was prepared deliciously. Definitely would recommend!

Jonathan Taylor

Fantastic! Scallops were great, The Jars is a must get, and the service was fast and friendly.

Antonio Rocha

Sunday brunch at Empire State South is great. I had the chicken biscuit with the sweet potato hash instead of the grits and I’d definitely get it again. I did order the mimosa ($10) and it came in a white wine glass. I don’t think it’s worth it and would never order it again. If you’re looking for great food this is the place but not if you’re looking for value in drinks.

DuShaun. exe

Nice and unique take on food. For anyone who wants to experience something different.

Brittany Summerlin Verras

Love this spot. Interesting and well executed food with great drinks and beautiful decor. One of my faves.

Bryan Liao

Wonderful place in a great location!

Lindsey Cambardella

Great breakfast spot. Loved sitting on the courtyard patio

Ariel Blackwell

-Absolutely horrible service. I am so disappointed that we took a chance on this place. From the hostess to the bar staff, no one smiled or gave a shred of hospitality. It was as if we were bothering them for ordering anything at the bar. It was horrible. I've been a server and I am always understanding while dining. Mistakes happen, people have bad days, etc. However, EVERY SINGLE PERSON that we encountered before getting a table couldn't be having the worst day of their life! Again, I hate the fact that we wasted 45 minutes. We finally had enough and left shortly after being seated. I will say that our server was very polite. It didn't help that the menu was very limited. I've been treated better at fast food chains. Side Note: We went to Fadó Irish Pub and it was EXCELLENT!

Ajay Patel

Incredible food and drink menu

Karen D

Food and Service are TOPS

Suzanne Ward

Best cocktails in ATL. Get the jars.

Marty Danceva

I really appreciated this cafe, the food is incredible, as well as the restrooms were tidy. It was a little cool inside, really was not the most enjoyable. The food serve is good too. I will absolutely think about returning again if I have the opportunity. Me as well as my good friend purchased the salad as well as we were not let down. My one suggestion is to maintain the chilly outside. See you all again.!

Loren Crawford

My whole experience can be summarized as “meh”. The boiled peanuts were boiled with leftover pickle juice which I did not think complimented the peanuts. The beef tartare was also overwhelmed with a vinegar taste. My mother in law had the steak. It was done to order but wasn’t seasoned. I had the scallops and they themselves were good but the grilled onions they were paired with it were not seasoned and the other bit that came with the scallops was so fishy I couldn’t eat it. I would say this place is pretentious and overrated.

Audra Buffington

Love this place! Great vibe, fantastic service, outstanding food! We went for Sunday Brunch and each meal was prepared beautifully. The Breakfast is definitely one of my favorites! It's definitely a great southern experience. A little pricey, but I'd say it's worth it! Also, it's a cute place if you want to take your kids because there's space right outside to play bocce ball or just hang out on the synthetic turf.

Paul Lawbaugh

Chicken n a biscuit. Hot damn good stuff. Great coffee too if you are looking for a work bite. Is not too crowded for weekday breakfast. Vibrant crowd, professionals amd corp type in the mornings. Tea was just right. Good combo for a cheesy grits and biscuit plate

Kathryn Heal

This salad is more than worth the $20 price tag. Fresh greens, grilled okra and peppers, grains, and most importantly extremely tender steak! On top of that, there was an amazing dressing whose contents I couldn't identify, but it was wonderful. The okra also allowed me to check off a "southern tourist" food box as well :)

Richard Prigge

Maybe I just wasn't expecting the right thing, but the food was pretty disappointing to me. Flavors were very bland, textures did not work well for me, the portions were small, and the price was expensive. Atmosphere and service were good, however.

Michael Mussman

Just had cocktails. Very creative and tasty! Service was great! Tall bearded fellow took great care of us.

Eric Carlsen

Parking validated at the door for the lot behind the building

alma gomez

Food was great

Reema Rama

Went here expecting to be pleasantly surprised based on previous reviews. First thing we noticed when we walked in was the lack of service. We waited to check in for a while in an empty restaurant at 6:30pm. Once seated, we ordered our 2 appetizers and 2 mains. Then the waiter was no where to be seen. We just poured our own water and wine all night. Getting the check was just as painful. The appetizers we're tiny and flavorless but the mains were ok. Overall never again

smash ton

We tried a little bit of each course on the menu. Everything was fantastic. The wine and the cocktails were paired beautifully. The staff was knowledgeable and the chef amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone or go back any time.

Oscar O. Gonzalez Aguayo

Really good modern southern food. This place it's great for brunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed. That said I really love their bar selections, great cocktails and a pretty sweet whiskey collection. If you want a cozy and quiet place to talk and drink with your friends after dinner, this is your place.

Ashley Myles

Everything we tried was one of a kind. Such a unique and delicious menu. Fantastic service.

Alex Day

Good food drink and service. Validated parking in the garage in the back.

Lindsey Shoemaker

Absolute ADORE this place. The food has never been less than fantastic, and the service is CONSISTENTLY top-notch. The last time my boyfriend and I came in, we made a last minute 10PM reservation this past Saturday. We both felt guilty for getting there so late. But the service was still excellent and the food was perfect. Our server, Tiffany, went absolutely above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed. She talked to us a lot, and guided us through the menu, and we loved all of her recommendations! We were so lucky to have her as a server! I've never felt so at ease at a table! Thank you Tiffany and ESS!

Hayden Jones

Good food although smaller portions. Not too busy for Sunday brunch. Friendly service. Somewhat hard to locate as its in a large building. Could not find free WiFi.

Joel Kelly

Excellent, inventive food!

Kelly Alvarez

I think in an effort to be completely original, they lost sight of what it takes to make delicious food. It was mediocre at best. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself was inviting. We had just been to the botanical garden and weren't freshly coiffed I suppose, but we were definitely not dirty. They seemed to resent seating us. By the time the waiter begrudgingly gave me a three to four ounce pour of a $16 glass of pinot, I had had it. We were made to feel like we didn't belong. If they had known I have to travel for a living, we would have been treated differently.

Blanca Aguero

Finest food experience in ATL!

Joe Ng

I've been putting this review off for far too long largely because of the sense of overwhelming intimidation I feel having to come up with adequate expressions of just how fabulous this place is! I'm going to try my darndest, and I proffer my humble apologies if this review falls short. Firstly, and most importantly, the kitchen at Empire State South, at the time of this writing is philosophically more street food vendor than fine dining. This is an honest compliment. The executive chef and the cooks are putting out food that they know is good, seasonal, local, and prepared with experienced restraint. What this means is that you can expect a quality ingredient that the chef and his team understand and go on to put their skills to work to bring those highlights out on the plate. There is no ego or need to impress on the plate, there are no towering constructs, bourgeois sauces, or gimmicky presentations, just honesty. I recommend the tasting menu with the wine pairing to be able to truly experience this ethos. Thought, passion, and care are obvious in almost every detail of the ride, and it was one of those meals that was perfectly calibrated to leave me satisfied, happy, and functionally aware enough to enjoy the warm glow of being alive to enjoy something truly special with friends and my new family at ESS!

Patrick Hill

Great food, great drinks, outside dining, and a bocce court. Need I say more?

Sea Jewel

Everything you need What was that need you mentioned? With this eatery you dive in and choose your heartfelt urge. Apps, special fare and extra special servers are never far away. We had a time press with an early wedding rehearsal and were served in less than 15 minutes. Impeccable beef, fresh diagonal slaw and great fresh chips. Thank you.

theresa peci

Visiting from NYC and I was craving grits. I tried a few places when I got in and nothing was "wowing" me until I had these amazing delicious grits! perfectly seasoned delicious grits! The service was amazing as well! I sat outside with my pup and they even had a water bowl for her! Super friendly staff and fast service. It was wonderful! I will come back next time i'm in town!

Alex Hullah

Nice place with a dog friendly terrace

Renae Whitely

Excellent food. Great service great music. Love the atmosphere. I had the farm egg and it was delicious. Lovely place to dine in

Laura Carr

I was very disappointed as this was my first time here. We had a reservation and it wasn’t even crowded. It took an hour to even get our drinks let alone food. I ended up canceling my food because I had to go and it turns out our served hadn’t even put our order in after an hour!! I’m disappointinted I didn’t get to try the food but I won’t be back because of the service.

MeaResea Homer

The shrimp and grits were great!

Ross Bolden

Nice venue with Southern Style meals and a good cocktail list. Was really busy on a Tuesday night so I take that as a good sign

Susan Leonard

Empire State South has an amazing coffee selection, from espresso drinks to a variety of different coffees to choose from. They have a simple breakfast menu during the week, but their weekend brunch options are definitely something to try. And don't forget to stop in for drinks - they've got some of the best cocktails around with a knowledgeable bar staff.

rickie lewis

Visited on 7/29/18 my friend had cheeseburger and I ordered blueberry pie. Approximately 1 hour later experienced severe stomach pain. I spent 45 minutes in Hyatt bathroom. Today saw insult heaped upon diarrhea experience in the form of the $35.00 Bill being mysteriously increased to $75.00.

Cassandra K

Unique food combinations; fresh flavors. Don't forget to validate.

nicole maddocks

Excellent food, service was outstanding!

George Lawes

Overpriced, boring, and pretentious. Jars of pimento cheese? Spare me, Please. Tough $40 steak, boring lamb, overpriced wine list. Noisy, dull ambiance. Another 'celebrity' chef corporate cookie cutter eatery. Save your money.

Christopher Smith

Terrible experience. Slow service, when they weren't busy. The pork belly was disproportionate with the price of the dish. Four small pieces for $13??? I can accept that, if the food was quality.... but, it was so over-salted, I had to give it away. The sirloin dish, ordered medium, came out rare, however, was IMPOSSIBLE to chew, so much so, I thought I might choke if I attempted to swallow it. The masticated remains stayed on the plate. Then we ordered a burger, to assuage the disappointment of the sirloin. The burger came out over done, and on a stale bun. The salad dish was also lacking. Wrong selection of greens with two small pieces of peach. Every dish was a disappointment. I went there because of the high praise of the reviews.... perhaps they write their own, because nothing about our meal, or service, was up to par. I'd almost prefer T.G.I. Fridays.... almost...Try The Lawrence, South City Kitchen, Consulate, or Ecco instead. Don't waste your time or money here.

Shonda Rogers

Great meal and service.

Thomas Notaro

Excellent eatery in Atlanta. Some real good mixoligists who will make your drinks spot on. Food was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice. Cool place if you are visiting.

Patrick Rucker

One of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. Make sure you make a reservation. The cocktail menu is fantastic and the bar itself is a great place to stop by for a casual drink when you are not having dinner. There is a wide drink selection as well as a good number of local beers. I love the ever-changing food menu and each time I have been here I got something different. One of the highlights of the meal that I had here last was a bacon-infused pimento cheese spread as an appetizer.

Michael Owens

Farm bowl was really amazing! Make sure you leave the egg yolk runny.

Nathanael LHeureux

Wow! We had a corporate event here and it was an excellent venue!! The food was excellent! I still can't get over how good the Farm Egg (Or some name like that) was! It had this deep-fried rice that was AMAZING. Great texture and taste. Then the mushrooms, and other items mix together for a dish I could just keep eating! Also the restaurant is very nice casual. I love the outdoor area!

Cesar Aaron Cruz

Great food and staff are very nice. Definitely recommend it!!

Janice Flanagan

Great food, staff & atmosphere

Aaron McKnight

Decent place to work

Lee LI

Very nice spot for Dinner with out of town guest.

Pedrosky Garcia

Went there for lunch on a thursday, the restaurant wasnt busy but the service was SLOW! ordered some steak medium rare, came out rare. I didnt mind, expecting it to be tender since it was rare, but when i took a bite, i cant even believe how a piece of rare meat can be so chewy. Then i ordered a burger, it took more than 25min. The burger was okay. I was disappointed.

Frank Clarkson

Great casual place to grab good coffee (Counter Culture) and great food. The breakfast bagel is a must order.

Jeremy Grecco

La dona. A very good drink to Kate while waiting on the rest of the party to arrive. The food was amazing!

Scott Camp

Absolutely amazing food and service. A little expensive but worth every penny.

Víctor G Rivero

Excellent food and service.

David Brown

Great restaurant with good sized private room for groups of 8-10.

Anna Correa

Overall a great experience. I would definitely head back here for a meal and drink. I will say that because I was on a work trip is was easy to say okay to the higher prices. Which is really the only thing I would change since the sticker price shocked me coming from NYC. Oh and please get the boiled peanuts! These were some of the best I have ever had.

Raymond Young

Awsome

Brendan Saltaformaggio

Southern food at it's finest. Drink program is outstanding at the classy bar. Weekday breakfast is definitely worth being late to the office!

Tom Eich

Everything was fantastic. Great cocktail selection. Duck for two was the best I have ever had.

Chris

Have been here twice and thoroughly enjoyed both times. Last time I had the Painted Hills Rib Eye which was delicious, and since it was my birthday, they brought me out a desert plate that included the best chocolate mousse I've ever had...so light and fluffy it melted in your mouth. Service is impeccable. Highly recommended.

Mike Nelson

Would have given it to 0 to 1 Stars actually but the wait staff was very good and accommodating. Ordered the octopus it was like rubber and tasted Rancid, everything was over-salted (and I'm a salt fiend!), and the miso soup was the worst we've ever had. The only saving grace of the dinner was the bread plate which was fantastic. With all the amazing restaurants in Atlanta I would avoid this one like the plague.

Josh Brennan

Just good enough for the price. Nothing there that woo'd me. Skip dessert, it was laughably executed. What you shouldn't skip is the 3 dollar Schlitz tallboys that come with a coozy OR the outdoor space!

Shannor Trotty

I got the spicy chicken sandwich. It was decent. I liked the fries though they could have been a little crisper. Overall good place to eat. Felt a little expensive for what we got but definitely not crazy.

Brian Berger

Service, food and atmosphere were all excellent. The reason I am not giving Empire State South 5 starts is because I felt the portion size for the price was small. I left pretty hungry and had a 3 course meal. Barely any meat on the chicken, even though the taste was great. Compared to JCT Kitchen, and South City Kitchen, Empire is my least favorite, due to price and quantity. If you eat less, highly recommend this place.

Marc-Louis Paprzyca

Empire State South was extremely disappointing and I would have given in 3.5 stars if possible. Everything just lacked any real flavor and was entirely too expensive for what we got. All of the dishes looked beautiful though. We ordered popcorn as a snackie because it’s not everyday you see that on a menu. It must be good, right? The molé it was tossed in provided little flavor and it didn’t taste like there was any salt, which continued to be a trend. Especially with the squash appetizer with the little flavor coming solely from the ricotta cheese. We wanted to order another appetizer but the disappointment in the first two dishes urged us to just move onto the entrees. Scallops for my wife and the strip steak for me. Again they were both good but lacked anything to make them really stand out for an acclaimed chef such as Hugh Acheson. At the end of the meal we were left unsatisfied with the flavors and our fill. Especially for the money. I would not recommend Empire State South if you are looking for any bold flavors.

Shea Bailey

It’s not bad. A little different. Lots of pickled items on the menu. The peanuts were the best thing I had.

Anthony Gallo

The absolute best food I have ever had. Hands down. This restaurant has it all. Food, staff, seating, music, atmosphere, even the other customers were friendly!!!! If you're thinking about going here, don't wait to get the farm egg. Seriously.

Jim Koslosky

7/27/18 was our first visit. Upon arrival the hostess and the bar staff were great, all three were personable, engaged and made great drinks. The experience was a 5 at this point. Then we were seated outside at our request to accommodate our reservation. The venue and decor contributed to the evening being a 5. Our server for dinner was off. She was not very attentive, we had to go find her to ask for a second glass of wine. My date ask for salt and she brought it about 10 mins later. His food was now cold. She tried to clear our plates while we were still eating. The food was neutral, not bad but not anything that would make us go back. Over all the experience that started out great ended neutral. We decided not to go back.

Ian Jones

Incredible food and service. The lamb was one of the better dishes I have had in Atlanta.

John DesJardins

Probably among the most creative culinary experience you can get that is also farm to table. It's a relaxed atmosphere, not stuffy. But, the the menu is top notch, creative and special. Their dish with the deep fried rice and egg, or some of their unique brunch items, simple things like hangar steak, all very good. I will say the portions are small, but that's only by American standards. The staff and service levels are also special. Among Midtown's most special fine-dining experiences.

Houa Mua

Drinks are phenomenal and unique. Service is beyond top notch! Beautiful ambiance.

Dan Barracliff

The service at the dinner table was horrible which made the food experience poor. The bar service was very good. It's a shame, place will not survive if this continues.

Giovanni Polizzi

The place is quite relaxed and the wine list pretty good. I would have liked more choices on their lunch menu. The Shrimp and Grits was fabulous anyway.

Brian Parsons

We’ve been a couple times and have thought each time that it’s a little over priced for the food. The atmosphere is nice and pretty low key the times we have gone which are usually at opening and closing time.

a Franqui

Absolutely lived eating here! Parking can be a little daunting, but the menu and service far exceeds expectations

Celene Point

Fun place!

Ryan Mallon

Excellent cocktails and environment. Food menu looked superb, although we just met for drinks

Jared Brody

AMAZING!! One of my favorite places in Atlanta! The food is excellent - found my Soul (Food). The service has been wonderful and the vibe is quality with no pretence.

Aaron Taylor

Excellent farm to table neo southern food. Highly recommended and worth the price of admission. The custom cocktails are also spectacular.

Stephanie Cook

Neat location, great food, but very limited menu. (Went for a business lunch).

Christian Montiel

Ate here last month as part of my team end of the year lunch at my office. Was somewhat afraid of the menu as I am a very picky eater. I ended up ordering the farm egg and am glad I did. Was so delicious and wanted more! I didn't realize it …

Peter Aloumanis

Just outstanding. The wait staff, the atmosphere and the food . Just a great experience

Bonnie Dalberg

Really good food. The bloody mary is unique, maybe old bay seasoning? They also have bottomless mimosas!

Jennifer Myers

Fantastic food, great service, wonderful cocktails. Highly recommend.

N A

Amazing ambiance. Awesome cocktails and food. Had the shrimp and grits. Each bite tasted different and divine!

Kerry Kramer

Great seasonal food and knowledgable serving staff.

Bobby Erb

Great food. One of my favorites in Atlanta. Service is OK. Good is outstanding.

Heather J. Chin

Friendly service, awesome throwback quality 90s playlist, relaxed and classy atmosphere for groups and dates.

Whit Ward

Amazing food and atmosphere.

Dedrick Flynn

Fantastic place! Such a warming vibe! Our server Vas was extremely helpful in pairing my our drinks to our menu items. Outstanding

Tim Richter

Stopped by for breakfast on the way to North GA. Very cool atmosphere. Outdoors was nice, but chose to sit inside. Got the fried chicken biscuit and Hugh's Breakie for the table. Chicken was great, breading was light and crispy. The other dish was great too, prefect example of something simple done very well. Definitely a recommended stop for breakfast if you're in the area.

Terri Fry

Great place for large groups, good service and food.

Amanda Parker

Highly recommend the homemade pimento cheese. Pair that with one of their great cocktails and you’ll have a great happy house. The outdoor seating in particular is nice.

Christian Fabian Sanchez Acosta

Our experience in the restaurant was pretty positive , the food is delicious and the service is great! Thd menu is small but with key dishes , the cocktails are very good!

Jared Borocz-Cohen

Went for brunch. Decent food. Nothing special. Miniature portions. If you're looking for a meal, not the place to go. Be prepared to pay $15 for a snack. Very very small portions.

Danelle Williams

Good place to meet for breakfast in midtown especially for larger geouos

Victoria Rodriguez

Empire State South has always been on my list and I've had the pleasure of visiting them twice in the past year. The menu does rotate regularly based on what's in season and for the most part, all dishes are great, but there are some stand-out favorites.

Kevin Boyd

We love going here for breakfast and brunch. My go to's on their brunch menu are the Fried Chicken Biscuit, the Farm Egg, and the Breakfast. Their Iced coffee is always great and strong. I have yet to go for dinner but I have heard that their menu is amazing. The service is always on point and they also just resurfaced their bocce ball court.

Joy Archer

What a great place to grab a bite. Food was DELICIOUS!!

Daniel Hernandez

Great vibe; great people. The folks working the bar have an excellent knowledge of what you might like to drink (if you have no idea!). The cuisine here is pretty precise, so make sure you take a look at the menu beforehand to make sure it's up your alley. Let's be honest though, if you don't like southern cooking, what are you doing in Atlanta at all?

Justin Rachwalski

The "in jars" was excellent.

APPLIED FUNDING

My low Key Fav!

Cara Snyder

Delicious food, lovely decor, but the waiter wasn’t great.

Eli Brackett

Delicious food and drinks! I took my girlfriend for a celebratory dinner and we enjoyed every moment. The host was very courteous and we were seated quickly. Our server was very personable and we'll educated on the menu and drink options. We ordered almost everything suggested and the food came out in a timely manner and was prepared expertly. The drinks were also well executed and enjoyable. We are definitely looking forward to our next trip to Empire State South!

Lifestyle with Abby

The design and location are more interesting than the menu. Frankly, the brunch menu is too snooty for me, and it includes minor Southern delicacies. I started with the pimento cheese; it's savory, and the topped bacon is well incorporated, but it's slightly too smokey. My meal was the griddled biscuit in which was disappointing. The sausage in the biscuit was very spam-like. It had the same look and consistency as cooked spam. The bacon was a hard, thick slice of what tasted like cooking oil. The biscuit was somewhat dry but had a good texture. The good in this conjunction was the fig and cheese had a lot of flavors! The potatoes were well done as well which I prefer. I did not enjoy my cocktail; there was too much grapefruit in my Venetian Spritzer, so it was very sour and unpleasant. The silver lining is the staff is helpful, and the outdoor patio is beautiful! I'd return if a regular menu item is added. I hope waffles is in the near future.

Margaret Ross

Lunch was fine. Limited menu w some unique offerings. Good service.

Jay Rankin

Delicious AND reasonably priced. Duck for two was incredible

David Sellers

Great food and atmosphere. Loved the meat & pickles and Farm egg appetizers!

Russ C

Great experience here. The farm egg farro was incredibly savory and rich-- one of my favorite dishes I had in 2018. Service and atmosphere was excellent. Not a cheap place but some of their dishes are amazing.

Pavleen Thukral

Lunch here is incredible. Their spicy fried chicken sandwich is amazing.

Kevin Bragg

The 5 course tasting menu was fantastic!

Aqua La Fleur

Awful!! Presentation

Andrew Battles

Seated 30 minutes late even with a reservation and slow service. Also, I purchased the same entree that two of my other friends split, yet all three of us had the same portions. The food was ok, but certainly not worth the price.

Brian Conway

Unique dishes. Great staff. Food is good.

Premnath Ananthan

Awesome food Great ambiance Great service Great place for a date

Nicole Tucker

Love this restaurant. The drinks are amazing and the in jars appetizer is my favorite.

Kirk Reed

Although rented our family rented the whole restaurant for brunch, it was perfect. Staff was very kind and attentive. Food was outstanding.

Connan Moody

Fantastic service. Solid coffee. Great little outdoor seating area.

Dave Chen

The food is good and the cocktail list is also good. I found it very difficult to get there for dinner if you're driving due to rush hour and the parking garage requires a bit of effort to find.

Ariel Liu

Limited breakfast menu, and expensive for what it was ($7.50 for a modest egg, cheese, and bacon bagel sandwich)

David Braiden

Great food and friendly staff

JR Curley

Super fun vibe at this restaurant! The outdoor space has a bocce ball court (the balls are a little beat up, so don't plan to have a serious game here), with ample room for seating both small and large parties. The indoor is cozy, with a nicely sized bar, bar area, and dedicated restaurants seats/booths. The staff are very friendly, and the food delicious! A good, happening place to visit right after work.

Barry Loudis

Solid lunch for the midtown crowd. Chicken sandwich is a favorite

Joe McKenna

Amazing food, great drinks & a super cool atmosphere.

adelaide francois

Menu did not have many appealing options; specifically appetizers. Drinks were good.

Josiah Webster

This place was amazing! Great food and really cool atmosphere. The staff was also very nice and provided excellent service. I'll definitely be back!

Bonnie Kelly

This is the place I always make sure to stop into when I'm in Atlanta. Great breakfast menu and outstanding coffee (Counter Culture), and the bar has just the right balance of sophistication and accessibility.

Alexander Sterngold

Consistently great food and service. Must go place in Atlanta

Patrick Tisdel

Fantastic food for the price. Definitely going back.

Not loud or crowded, it's a very chill sort of place. Perfect spot to wind down your evening out, it's an unexpected little location hidden away in an wide alley created by two large buildings. After the dinner crowd has left, this place is a fun hangout to grab a snack and sit around the bar area or to take your beverage outside to the courtyard, which being sandwiched between buildings blocks out the bustle of surrounding Midtown.

Fantastic. Always the best at what they do.

Sandra Vicenty
