This Coffee Shop is classified in the category of Colombian restaurant.
This was an awesome spot. The tostone was amazing a beef patty between a plantain "bun." Everything was reasonably priced for the beach. A really great experience, would recommend and return
Don't know much about Colombian food, but I loved the seafood casserole.
Excellent resturant. The food is good and unique. The service great
First of all, I wanted to highlight that this review is based on my personal experience! That being said, this place is just AVERAGE! Food is average, drinks are average, service is average! I am not from Miami so I googled for best latin food at South beach and this place came out with the best rates! Anyways, the food is just ok and prices are high! They include 18% tip in your check which is a Miami thing, I guess?..No parking lot so you can do Street parking or find a public or private parking lot to leave your car. Restrooms are in another building right next to the restaurant and they are not the cleanest. But as I said, this is my experience, so go and make your own!
Great food and hospitality. Our servers were Paola, Diana, and Bruno were excellent. Must visit.
Service was mediocre. Food was decent tho. Horrible experience overall. They were rushing me to finish my food and they were making fun of me because I didn’t finish when they expected me to. I would never go back to that place. Service charge on the bill is unfair. They’re trying to get rid of you. Went there because I was feeling homesick and thought I was gonna feel like home, but instead the staff was rude.
Good spot and Colombian music. Bad empanadas, didn't have meat at all. Good cazuela, a lot of seafood but very heavy. They advertise happy hour on the website but didn't have it. Beers are expensive. And didn't have bottles of Hot Sauce!!!!
Definitely an amazing experience at this restaurant. The food is so delicious and the staff was so friendly. The owner takes very much pride in his restaurant.
Empanadas was not good. Mojitos was nice though.
This place is so delicious and wow wow wow you must order the whole fish Mojarro!
First time at this restaurant did not go as planned and my experience was subpar and I didn’t not enjoy myself, however my second experience was absolutely amazing, the staff was friendly and the owner Pablo and manager Palo ensured that we had a wonderful experience. I’m glad a gave this place a second chance. The food is impeccable, so delicious and flavorful, I will definitely be returning to this place every time I come to Miami. They really care about their customers and their experience at this restaurant and I again I’m so glad I gave this place a second chance.
Food was great service was great only thing they are a bit expensive.
One or the best place I've ever been. Delicious and personal food. The restaurant atmosphere is exceptional. I also recommend it for breakfast, rich and delicious.
Never enjoyed such a good food before
Had dinner yesterday it was delicious ❤ especially the hot sauce !!
By far the absolute best restaurant experience I've never had in Miami Beach! The food was amazing, the service spectacular and the ambiance was terrific! Gerson was our server and he's the best .Thanks
Great food, good service, manager was very professional thank you
Food is mediocre. Service is mediocre. Not very attentive. We had to ask for refills. And they don’t tell you that tip is automatically charged at 18%.. def not worth your bucks.
Great service, servers were very attentive. The food was excellent, I stayed In south beach a week and ate three different dishes and each was better than the one before. The bathroom situation needs work, but not that serious... you just have to walk out of the restaurant to the empty business next door. I m sure they will change this soon.
This is a beautiful low key restaurant that’s close to the beach! There’s seating indoors and outdoors but it’s limited. Roughly like 10-20 seats? I care in the middle of the afternoon so we were able to sit outside, which was very nice. They also had pleasant music playing and the waiters were very friendly. The food...the mojito has a sugar cane in it! What a nice touch! The calamari with pork belly was good but not exceptional. However, the seafood stew is my favorite. It’s creamy. Full of seafood. Delicious! I would make sure to come back here when I visit Miami.
Small, cramped and delicious. I felt as if I was in Columbia while at this place!! Staff all warm and friendly, menu simple and authentic. Had a steak with pork belly beans and rice, with an egg, avacado and ricecake. Nothing on this meal was bad not a fan of the 18% service charge but hey it's Miami.
Great experience! Thank you to the nice owner, and the manager also the staff are sooo nice and accommodating! Great food first time trying the bandeja paisa and I Recommend it!!!
Great atmosphere, intimate, quaint and cozy but don't let that fool you, their food is seriously amazing. I've seen this place evolve through the years as a local and it's quite a joy to see how far they've come. Empanadas, ceviche, bandeja Paisa(seems like they've upgraded the steak :) ),cazuela de mariscos just to name a few, the most visually stunning mojitos known to South Beach equally as tasty and packing a nice punch makes La Ventana a must visit, even if it's for a quick cocktail, natural juice(mango juice in milk my personal fav)or even for a nice ribeye steak and cabernet it will be worth your time and money!
Great service, excellent food, perfect price!
Let me just start off and say the food here was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! La Ventana is a Colombian restaurant on Washington ave in Miami Beach, just a few blocks away from the beach. They serve up a ton of classic dishes with incredible flavor, and beautiful plating. We got the Mi Tierra for our appetizer and it was a plated como insulin of rice, beans, and several different types of meat topped off with avocado and an egg. For our main course - it was so hard to choose! I definitely want to come back and try more dishes, but we got the camarones al ajillo which had jumbo shrimp in a delicious criolla sauce and shredded tomatoes and also the pollo en salsa criolla. For desert, we had a slice of the guava cheesecake and omg I was I was in heaven! Cheesecake is my all time favorite dessert and they definitely do it proper with the guava mixed straight into the cheesecake part and not just as a topping. Aside from the food, I love the ambiance inside. It definitely felt very homey with the decor and the Colombian music playing in the background. All around, it was a vibe. I highly recommend coming here if you're looking to be immersed in an authentic experience.
This is a joke cold entres. Overpriced drinks and just not a good experience.it made me sick and i didn't even eat....
Absolutely delightful! Loved the food that I chose.
Love this place but will no longer eat there because they allow Uber eats and Post mate to steal your food and your money. There is no parking so we usually order delivery and apparently when you do that if the driver decides to keep your food and money is ok. The owner of the restaurant apologized but also said I did my part not my fault. South Beach is a very tough market, you should stand by you local loyal costumers if you want to last. Either you put someone that is gonna be responsible for delivery or get the companies doing your deliver to treat your costumer better!
My breakfast was delicious and the service was great. Thank you Jeniffer.
Amazing food! Reasonably priced. Great staff.
This restaurant is a must if you are visiting Miami, came here to have dinner; and the music and the welcoming staff (Jeniffer £ Ivana) made our night great. The food and drinks was delicious . Would definitely come back . Thank you!
Had a great early lunch after arriving to Miami South Beach. Service was friendly and food was absolutely delicious. Serving sizes were incredibly generous. Would definitely visit this lovely establishment again.
Each dish is unique Very friendly staff Overall a very nice experience.
Food, staff and atmosphere, all perfect
Service was good, but I didn't like the food. Not the best colombian flavor.
Wow is all I can say. I got shrimp ceviche & it's to die for. Seriously. Carne asada is super authentic. Very good place to eat, very good quality & it wont hurt your pocket.
Wonderful atmosphere and service! Large portions and amazing flavors combine for a relaxing experience. Eat here more than once and they will remember you and treat you as family. Small restaurant with only 35 seats total.
Delicious Food and quality Mojitos!!!
Had a wonderful meal. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. An absolute gem!
The food is good . The service was a bit slow but the staff is very nice .
Delicious arepas stack w beef, egg, salsa, plus fresh juices. Cozy w Columbian decor and music. Reasonable prices for quality, generous dishes.
Delicious food... Great and kindly staff
One of my top ten favorite restaurants. The staff, menu and atmosphere were all beyond expectations. The menu had a small well prepared selection of all types of food and the tapas were a great start. It's a small place so the staff is quick and happy to help with anything you need through out the experience. Drinks were made to order using fresh ingredients. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great meal and wonderful experience.
I was in Miami for four days and I came here every single day. Yea it’s that good! The mojitos are bomb and the food is to die for. Service was great and the vibe was just lovely. I’m back in Miami now and this is first on my list. A definitely must!
Thanks Jennifer for your attentive and friendly service. Thanks Diana.Yoy Mojitos were fantastic. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks for the wonderful dinner
Small but cute place. Food came out pretty quick and was a decent lunch. My bfs steak was overcooked and my arepa was almost too hard to cut, but even then everything was flavorful and the staff was friendly.
looking for a place to get mojitos!? then look no more! they have a great variety of mojitos and so far all of them have been extremely good. specially the mango one
Very cozy place next to the beach, the food was good and the service was great!
Hubby and I loved the service, food and ambience. Little Colombia in the heart of Miami
Great staff and customer service but the food was not and it was excessively expensive. They charge 3 dollars extra to add chorizo to it. Food was cold
Amazing food and presentation, definitely worth it!
Very cozy typical Colombian restaurant in the heart of Miami Beach, a spicy Margarita that would make you feel the heat of the beach pairs perfectly with the Latin flavors of the food that you will find at La Ventana. Churrasco perfectly served and a golden crispy Mojarra Frita are two dishes to dye for! Wanna start everything right? tostones con churrasco empanadas and a delicious and refreshing Pineapple Mojito and the most important everything goes perfect with the great customer service that you’ll received from Jennifer and everyone there!
The food was excellent
Love the empanadas, tostones burger and steak! My husband cannot stop talking about their burger with the plantain “bun”. Can’t go wrong at this cozy, yet authentic Colombian restaurant. Perfect for a casual, hearty meal after a long day. Large portions, great quality food and flavors.
Excellent food and service. The prices are reasonable, I recommend the breakfast, really very good. We will return to dine on a special occasion. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Food is great! I ordered an arepa with spicy sauce on the side which is sweet to the taste. My bestie also loved her entire meal. Service is awesome! The interior of the restaurant is super cute with great vibes. Iced coffee taste good too. Also the coffee presentation had me shook!!
I really liked the environment and the food was fine. They needed reservation for a faster check in and we had to wait more than half an hour to get in because we haven’t reserved ahead of time. The waitresses were nice and the order came out relatively fast.
Loved our brunch at La Ventana! The empanadas were the best I have ever had, the mojitos were killer and our meal was fresh, flavorful and filling. I would come back here everyday if I could.
The empanadas don’t look anything like the picture. I got some argentina style empanadas . They used to be ok and at 3.5 each, mediocre doesn’t count. Much less when they aren’t traditional colombian empanas just deep fried Argentinean empanadas. Bought them before and were great as of today 9-13-2019 they are terrible and definitely not tradicional. And if this is the most basic dish not sure about the others. Save some money and buy your coffee and empanadas in the cuban shop, same empanadas anyways. And pictures are not what you’re getting at all
Great authentic Colombian food. Great for quick bite or sit down.
Ceviche was to die for and mojitos soon good
This restaurant was recommended to me as a "Must Visit" when I returned to Miami. I ordered from the Tapas menu and thoroughly enjoyed the Chicharron and Empanadas de Carne. Jennifer explained that in Colombia the empanadas are eaten using a napkin, not a fork and knife (which is how I started to eat mine). She was incredibly friendly and attentive during my time there; I even bought one of their water cups as a souvenir.
Extremely disappointing. Completely overpriced. Bad food. Barely any seasoning and lukewarm . Super small portions. Ok/bad service. Never ever will visit again.
Delicious authentic food! Get your moneys worth with every bite! Will go again when I go back to Miami.
Stopped in for a quick bite while waiting for a hotel room- best decision ever. Food was AMAZING. Absolutely reasonably priced for the quality and location. Staff was super friendly too! If I ever find myself in Miami again, I’m definitely going back there
Came highly recommended. Was the real deal. Food was great and the service superb
What a cute hidden gem in the mix of South Beach! From the moment we walked in we received a friendly, warm welcome from everyone, the start to our great experience here. When you get inside, be sure to take in the decor and the photos on the wall, this will make you feel like you're really in an authentic restaurant in the heart of Colombia! Dining Experience: First up, drinks! I had the red sangria, full of fresh fruit and not overly sugary, thank goodness! My husband had the Mojito, recommended by our fabulous server, it came complete with a real piece of sugar cane, let's just say he was chomping down on that throughout his drink experience. Food time! To start we shared beef tacos, juicy, full of flavor and a wonderful taste of more to come! To get a bit of both worlds we ordered the Churrasco and the Casuela De Mariscos (similar to a seafood paella). My Churrasco was the highlight of the meal! Cooked to perfection, flavorful and perfectly paired with rice and special sauce, a must have here! Lastly we had the Guava cheesecake, a little on the sweet side but delicious and melt in your mouth yummy. The perfect way to end our meal! Getting here: Parking in front the restaurant is available but limited, there are a few open lots and garages nearby, no need to worry! THE END! 4 stars means I'll be back and will tell my friends to visit, head here if you're staying on the beach today!
Excellent food and great service, nice little joint, can recommend for lunch!
This has to be one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The food was amazing and the service was out of this world. My boyfriend and I were visiting from Houston, TX and it was our last night in Miami. La Ventana definitely made one night to remember. We ordered Salmon salad, churrasco and camarones empanadas. Everything was tasty and yummy. Every meal is special to me but this meal in particular will make me remember Miami forever. Thank you for La Ventana for making it a special night for us.
Really clean place, good food and good service.
Great staff and customer service
If you’re in South Beach you have to make a stop at The Ventana. They’re serving authentic Colombian food that makes you want to travel to Colombia. Luckily we don’t have to travel there to enjoy this amazing food. To eat I highly recommend the patacones de churrasco and chicharroni tacos. Now if you’re stopping by for drinks try the mojitos or their Anguila cerveza. Both hit the spot especially after a day in the sun. Above all get the Krack Pie and vanilla ice cream. I was so full I almost didn’t order it and believe me I’m still thinking about it.
The people that worked there we’re so nice and attentive! Top
If you’re looking for a one of a kind experience and delicious Colombian food then La Ventana is the restaurant for you. Driving down the street the restaurants unique look caught my eye. You won’t miss this place when driving down Washington Ave - I promise. The restaurant is decorated to look like you’re at your Tía’s house in Colombia. Or at least what I’d imagine my Tía’s house in Colombia to look like if I had one. I’m totally in love with the decor to be honest. Drinks were definitely up to par. The strawberry and mango mojitos were not only beautifully presented, but delicious. The fruit flavors were tasty and the alcohol was not overwhelming. There were also Colombian sodas which are amazing. Onto the food, the main attraction... wow. I wanted to try everything on the menu. (Spoiler: I’m without a doubt going back to do so.) After seeing a photo of the Mi Tierra appetizer I knew I needed to try it. It was amazing. The flavors of the red beans, rice, avocado, pork belly, chorizo, meat and fried egg is making my mouth water as I remember it. The Causa Acevichada was delicious as well. Whipped potato topped with shrimp ceviche is too good to pass up. Churrasco was delicious, but Colombians know their meat so this was definitely the safest bet if you’re not an adventurous eater. Now dessert was a whole new ball game. Krack Pie and Vanilla ice cream... I need an entire pie to-go. It’s a salted caramel filling on an oatmeal cooking crust. Rarely do I go for dessert after a meal because I have a small capacity for food, but this was too good. My husband and I were fighting for the last piece. Even though I live in really far south I will most definitely be making the trip back. Especially with the amazing service from Catherine! We absolutely, 100% loved her.
The food was great! I haven't had that style of shredded beef Arepa but it was beautiful. Everything was beautiful. The staff was friendly & even cared to say bye to me on their way out from their shift!
Small restaurant (6 tables inside, 4 outside and 8 stools) with great Colombian food. The service is good and the pricing is fair (fair to Miami Beach). If you need to wash your hands or use the restroom there is a key for them at the bar (beware, the toilets however are horrible).
We enjoyed our dinner there and impressed with the service we received. The dishes are fresh and delicious, I recommend El Churrasco and the Bandeja Paisa. If you are in Miami you must try it and you will be amazed!
By far the best choice of restaurant to eat in miami! The workers paola and Jennifer are super sweet and accommodating.. especially when we needed our phones to be charged! Food is delicious..we got the shrimp ceviche, fried whole fish, and seafood rice. Definitely a must try
Cozy and intimate place. Beautiful in every way and had one of the best meals in my life. Highly recommend this restaurant
Delicious and very friendly staff. the empanadas are a must try
This is a great spot for a big group. La Ventana accommodated our group of 15 on very short notice for a casual Christmas party. We used the upstairs space, which was perfect for us to move around and socialize or sit down if we wanted. We ended up with about 25 people up there and it was plenty of space. Everything was great - the staff, the food, the relaxed atmosphere. Many of my colleagues told me that they came back here after our party because they liked it so much. Thanks La Ventana!
Great food, very tasty and perfect portions. The service amazing.
Excellent service and food. I was so pleased with my seafood rice and empanada. Can't wait to come back
I absolutely love this place. It's a small Colombian restaurant in the heart of south beach. They are so creative, professional and have delicious food. If you ever have cravings for Colombian food, this is your place!
Ok, but not as good as the reviews suggested. Also some undesirable touches, like fake candles (better to have none at all, instead of fake ones)
Empanadas are not colombian empanadas! Disappointed. Very small sitting space. I can not dine in a dark place, they have a dark atmosphere.
Amazing spot in the heart of south beach. Great good only toppef by the excellent staff and customer service. Jennifer and Zachary were awesome. Definitely making this a stop whenevet I'm in Miami
I love what they've done with this place
Amazing place! Service is outstanding.
Strolling through south beach and went to eat at La Ventana on Washington Avenue! I use to come here years ago, 2005 or so, and it was always so fresh and delicious. So coming back after all these years, I loved the makeover inside and new menu items! We started with an ice cold Colombian beer Águila ($6.50) and a refreshing margarita in this swanky skull mug that was perfect! It tasted refreshing and looked cute! ($11.75) We then were recommended to try the appetizer called Mi Tierra by our waiter. That was so delicious! It had little bites of meat, white rice, chorizo colombiano, red beans, avocado, pork belly and topped with a fried egg! ($15.00). To continue or tapas style lunch, we ordered the empanadas, so perfectly crisp and hot. One pollo and one carne, equally amazing! They warned us the sauce on the side was spicy, and it was no joke! Just take a tiny amount to add that perfect touch to your empanada! But he warned, its VERY SPICY! ($6.50). Last, we ordered the patacones de churrasco. They use top quality beef for this! And it's DELICIOUS! The fried green plantains topped with churrasco and chimichurri sauce, to die for! ($13.99) Last, since they had a sign that said the best mojitos, I had to order one! So good!! They also offer vegan and vegetarian substitutions to any of their meals if you ask! Overall, an amazing experience with wonderful staff! Can't wait to come back and keep trying items on the menu! Parking is tricky like anything on south beach, but you have street parking options as well as a garage not too far in the alley of 7th street between Washington and Collins that has fantastic rates!
We found this place on a whim and I’m so glad. Jennifer was so sweet and made the experience great! The beef empanadas are good af so do yourself a favor and order a few to-go while you lay out at the beach.
Charming little restaurant with great food and friendly service.
Fantastic Chef. Outstanding front of house team. Awesome food.
Best mojitos and Colombian food in south beach
This place is so special with a great hospitality and delicious dishes. Highly recommended!
They have an amazing food , but since you change your empanadas I’m not liking them please dnt change your way of cooking please this the only and closes to the house and work
We arrived in South Beach for the first time and were looking for good food that isn't too expensive in a relaxed, welcoming place. If you're looking for the same thing, look no further! La Ventana is a tiny little pocket of Colombia in the middle of South Beach, a few blocks away from Ocean Drive. When we came in we were immediately greeted with smiles and seated at a lovely table by the window, where we could watch people passing by. The menu is filled with delicious options, mainly for meat and fish lovers, but with some lovely vegetarian sides as well. They have arepas, ceviches, tapas... all sorts really. My boyfriend had chicharron (pork belly) as starter and I had maduro (sweet plantain). Both really lovely! As mains, he ordered the mojarra (whole fried fish) and I had the prawn ceviche with causa. I loved my dish, potatoes piled high with so many prawns! Usually you find places are not so generous but I thought this was a great portion. Delicious. My boyfriend LOVED his fish, with two sides of his choosing (he went for cassava fries and beans). He couldn't get enough of it! I went travelling in Latin America a few years ago and I was pleased to find not only authentic food at La Ventana, but the same warmth I encountered when travelling. Every single member of staff we interacted with was super kind and friendly, happy to give us plenty of advice on what they liked from the menu. Paola, Jeniffer and Ivana - thank you so, so much. We had a wonderful time and would definitely come by again next time we're in South Beach!
Roaches crawling up the wall and on the floor . Gross!! As for the food, not much flavor at all
Stopped in for lunch on our last day in Miami... and wow what a treat and great time. The service was outstanding--Paola was like our Columbian Mom--sweet and made sure we ordered the best dishes on the menu. The food was really amazing, the meats were so tender and had exceptional flavor, the drinks were super fresh from mojitos to lemonade. Next time we are in Miami, this will be out first stop!
Small portions and over priced
Super tasty, lovely staff
La Ventana has really delicious Colombian food! I was new to the scene, and really didn't know what I wanted, but Diana was a very helpful waitress, she was kind, patient and made great recommendations. She helped me choose everything I wanted and boy was I full after :) It is in the best location and the waitress Jenifer also helped me too. Great restaurant, great everything! I highly recommend if you are looking for a bite to eat in Miami beach!
Perfect experience. Incredible food and service.
Very good food and relaxed atmosphere. Loved it.
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. Finding a restaurant in Miami with both amazing service and great food is truly a needle in a hay stack. Our waitress and the manager were very attentive to our party to all others dining. They made sure your glass never went empty and always made sure we had everything we needed. The food came out in quite a rapid fashion. And let me tell you, e food is absolutely mouth watering. The salmon tartar was one of the stand out dishes. The salmon was so fresh and had so much flavor. The dish that I ordered was the fried whole fish and wow just wow. It was incredible. There is nothing I would change about the dish. It was perfectly crisp and had the most delish flavor and was perfectly salted. The fish melted off the bones and it was so moist. The fish was I believe the waitress said mojarra which is a Colombian fish. Now yes yes, the food is absolutely amazing BUT their dessert game is ten times more amazing! They have something called crack pie and boy does it live up to its name. It’s essentially A salted caramel filling on an oatmeal cookie crust with powdered sugar topping. And boy is it like crack. It is so addicting. I honestly wanted to order two more to take home. All in all it was such an amazing experience and I definitely will be coming back for more.
Kind of pricey...the food wasn't wow. But nice people.
Really good authentic Colombian food! This place is a must, you will not be disappointed. SUPER RICA LA COMIDA, Come here for a taste of Colombia in Miami.
Great little place. Very authentic and lovely food. Go for the taster menu, you won’t regret it.
Good food and friendly service. Highly recommend
The food is delicious! I had to keep reminding myself that I was still in the U.S.
Must visit this place, it’s really small but food and service are great!
Excellent food and service! A nice restaurant that's not a tourist trap. We had Mynor as our server. He was very facilitating of food allergies. Diana and Ivanna took care of us as well. The Krack Pie was on the best desserts I've had. Will definitely visit here next time I'm in South Beach
Outstanding. Everything about this place. The food was so good, the drinks were on point and the service was great. It's a small place so make sure you get a table. The portions are big for a small price. They do have a huge menu so there is something for everyone. The drink menu is just as big which surprised me. Definitely a family restaurant or a great date spot. It's right on Washington Avenue so easy access by walk or car. Parking spots are actually available which I was surprised about. It's a local spot which actually makes it even better. Not a regular south beach crowd so way more relaxing. Authentic Colombian cuisine with a nice touch of Spanish music which gives this place a very nice vibe. I would recommend this place anytime since it's not a regular south beach tourist spot.
The food was great, and really enjoyed the chicharron(pork belly). Tiny place but very good.
Amazing Colombian restaurant, great menu, and awesome service - try the Perro Comombiano!
Food and service were both EXCELLENT Price is good for its location
This deserves 0 stars! It was not authentic Colombian food and extremely overpriced! The food was not good and the portions were also very small. Terrible
A small quaint local restaurant that aims to bring Colombian dishes and drinks. Despite it's size, the restaurant is well staffed and noticeably busy. Service is great and always attentive. My food rating is solely based on two good sized appetizer dishes. Both of them lacked flavor and so left me wishing their was some sauce on the table. The flavored mojito while fruity and tasty, was missing alcohol. $53 for two appetizers and one drink. Just ok.
Great food and fantastic service. Very cozy and comfortable. Convenient location that is quieter. Mid pricepoint, got 1 app, 2 entrees, 2 beers and it was 105 after tip.
to much oil in my plate, tostones with steak and chimichurri
A true gem. Excellent service and tasty food!! I’ll definitely be back to visit!
Paola is the best server. So nice place, nice food.
So delicious! Big dishes and the service was excellent!
My waiter doesn't speak English. Keeps saying yes to everything I asked but didn't get my orders right. Very small place. Questionable cleanliness. Flies all over the food. Customer next to me was complaining of hair in her coffee. I saw a waitress put her fingers in a kids drink to get bottle caps out. She tried to hide it too. All because she didn't want to waste one freaking bottle of juice. Otherwise the food is eatable if you're hungry.
Really friendly and good service. Food was ok, really greasy for being salmon and sallad. Did not get the tostones on top of my salmon as it said on the menu, that was a disappointment. But the drinks was excellent!
Excellent location for delicious Colombian food. Nothing but enjoyable experiences here. Prices are reasonable.
Excellent food and friendly attentive service. I had the Calentado and enjoyed it.
Surprisingly gorgeous food. Highly recommended. Professional service.
Foood was extremely delicious great waitress great atmosphere...
Good Colombian food, a bit pricey but worth it.
Amazing! Arepas are so good & so is the ceviche
Delicious! Great staff!
The food and drinks were fantastic! But the best part was the staff: they were incredibly nice! I nearly did not want to eat at this restaurant, because i am a vegetarian and they did not have main dishes without meat on their menu. But the staff was really kind and offered several options for me. They ended up cusomising a dish for me, in order for it to be meatless. And the dish was really tasty!!! My mother and i had a grat experience! I would really recommend them!
Customer service was really good, great looking place but the food was just okay. Empanadas didn’t look like Colombian empanadas like in the picture.
Great service and delicious food.
A tad pricey, but the food and service is outstanding! The beans and rice with the in-house made hot sauce is out of this world. I would come back just for the beans and rice. Their hot sauce is really hot and super tasty. Thanks for the experience!
I came here last night and the service, food, location, and prices were great! This restaurant is good for a couples. It’s like sitting in a mother’s home with fresh juices, teas, and adult beverages. I enjoyed the tostones churrasco, and bandeja paisa. I can’t forget the FRESH juices. You’ll leaving requesting a bottle to take home!!!
Great cozy spot, flavorful food, fast service and reasonable prices. Server is very helpful with food recommendations. Highly recommended!
Yesterday I have visited this Columbian restaurant for a Mother's Day brunch/lunch and I can't stop raving about their food. THEIR FOOD IS AMAZING! I ordered a few different items on the menu and one was better then the next. Their cheese empanadas are to die for. They are authentic and so delicious. They are the best empanadas I have ever tried (check out my photos). I also ordered what they call " arepa grande" and it's basically this huge cheese arepa with melted mozzarella cheese. OMG! I was told that it's the most popular breakfast item in columbian so I had to try it. I have also tried a few different other items that weren't as " Columbian" just to see how they do with the non so authentic items to the Columbian cuisine and everything was so delicious. They also service beer and wine for anyone that wants to relax a bit. Although the restaurant is small and cozy we didn't have to wait at all. It's located right in the heart of south beach so try to come a bit earlier as parking on the weekends is a bit tough but doesn't take away from the experience at all. I will definitely be coming back.
I had the sea bass and it was amazing. The server Jennifer was very helpful and outstanding. Would come back again.
Best colombian food I've ever had in my life. Service is outstanding, the staff know their menu and dishes. Each plate was a thing of beauty, and tasted incredible. If you love Colombia, go here. Seriously.
Excellent food in an authentic atmosphere
The Columbian burgers are sandwiched with excellent beef, in between plantains. So good. My wife got the mojitos which are so good and taste so natural, and the shrimp tacos which were really good. The staff is so attentive
Amazing staff and local food. The atmosphere is great and everyone is super kind.
Absolutely delicious & very pleasant, attentive service - a great brunch place.
I was in Miami this past weekend and needed some Colombian food, this place was simply amazing! The Mojitos, arepas, Bandeja Paisa (for my friend's first taste of Colombian food) ALL great! Paola was very helpful and nice, she made our visit that much better. I will be back again and again!
Nice Colombian style food
This place is a gem in South Beach. The prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is authentic and homey. I would come back here soon. I got the bandeja paisa and it was a large portion and the morcilla was amazing. My husband got the churrasco and ate the whole entire thing! I dropped a star was because they brought out our appetizer late and i noticed they did the same to the table next to us. Also my steak and chicharron where on the fatty side but very flavorful. Please keep in mind that service tip will be automatically included, it's the price you pay for dining in south beach.
Fantastic hidden little restaurant that serves delicious local columbian dishes. Go here for a great meal and friendly service. Highly recommend Hidden little restaurant
Food very good, but we have to wait too much... it was not good to wait so long without anything to eat, drinks were warm when food arrived
Wonderful experience while visiting South Beach. Food was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. Highlights were the house made salsa, rum drinks, and empanadas Wait staff’s recommendations where spot on. Small portions make it a perfect stop for lunch while walking around and site seeing. Would recommend to anyone!
Nice place, staff and food is very good . however try to call to reserve before you go, otherwise you will have to wait about 20-30 mns
Beautiful little restaurant with a great atmosphere, service and amazing food. Everything we ate and drank was excellent. Hard to pick which plate was my favorite, as it was all amazing.
I can absolutely say that the food here is too good. I still can't believe it's in South Beach. A small restaurant in the heart of Miami Beach "The Ventana" is serving Colombian food that completely does their country justice. I highly and I mean highly recommend the chicharroni tacos as appetizers. They were so good I'm seriously considering going back just to have them again. For the entree you can't go wrong with the patacones de churrasco it's basically heaven on a toston. If you're looking for a breakfast option the arepa de choclo has a hint of sweetness that I wish I could start everyday with. Now to my favorite part.. the drinks. Get the mango mojito and the margarita. The margarita comes in the cutest skull cup which we all love for Instagram pictures. The mojito is strong enough that you know you're getting your moneys worth, but taste equaling yummy. Dessert: I almost skipped dessert and I would have forever regretted it. The Krack Pie and vanilla ice cream were amazing!!! The sweetest waitress recommended it and she was absolutely right it was incredible. I thought I was about to lick the plate lol. Beyond the food the service was impeccable. So attentive and all around perfect. That's so rare especially at the beach that it's left an impression on me. IG: _doseofsunshine_
I was looking for a good espresso- thank god i found one! Paolo from Napoli is my man! Ciao
Ordered to go the soup- 13 $ for this flavorless soup, half of the bowl with a huge chunck of yuca, far away from real good colombian soups.
I have been coming to LaVentana for many years as I visit my family in Miami often. I was there last night again and oh man has it changed!! First off it was so clean! The windows, the new tile floor, the new mugs, the new dishes, it all looked so new. The food was as always great, not greasy or salty, good quality meat very good portions. I also had for the first time their Spicy margarita, and it was the best I have ever had! Well mixed not premade. You can really see the owners are putting a lot of work into this place. I left even more enamored than I ever was. Definitely recommend, and def will be back! Cristian the manager and his wife the bartender were awesome!
