Nice cozy place with good food and dent service. Nice array of gluten free choices (bread for burgers and GF pancakes). Prices were good too. Great stop before or after the race at Lime Rock Park.

dwimsatt1961 .

Farm to table! Delicious homemade baked goods. I had the pastrami Ruben with sweet potato fries and my wife had the chicken salad wrap with fries. Both sandwiches were huge and delicious

Quant cafe with a unique menu. Best part is part of the staff that work there are from the rehabilitation center up the road. Giving people trying to recover not only a chance to make some money but a stepping stone back into society.

Fantastic breakfast! A step above ordinary.

Rebecca Horne

Very nice setting, great service. Food was pretty good but the potatos were not hot enough and the strawberry in my side of fresh fruit seemed more like a supermarket strawberry than one from the local "pick your own farm" we saw nearby.

On my first visit there are some thumbs up and some things that would have resulted in a lower review but I did some research and that turned what would have been a 3 star review into a 4. First off... the building is beautiful... pine interior, clean lines, a fusion of cabin and city. The food is locally sourced farm to table and you can definitely taste the difference. Even the strawberries in November were amazing. The menu is quite small, 4 or 5 breakfast options and 4 or 5 sandwiches Our table ordered two western omelets and a healthy omelet. One person ordered the western without ham. Another person asked to upgrade to sweet potato fries. The omelets come with one slice of toast that is out of this world...get a side of it. The service was not that good. There were a lot of people working but things seemed slow and disconnected. One person took the order. The specialty coffee took a long time to arrive but the person in charge of making the coffee spent a long time talking to the many other staff members. It looked like there were at least 7 to 9 employees and it was not that busy. The person that brought our food did not know what it was when we asked a question. The service seemed so disconnected I had to do some research. On their website it did say they provide a safe space for those recovering to work. That totally changed my view. The menu has a note about their farm to table practices. I wish they would add a note about their community practices as well. That is something to be admired. I do feel they could benefit from having someone on hand to direct those working. It is very open concept so you can't help but notice what is going on around you. I will definitely return to try the chic pea burger.

We found this place by chance and have eaten there several times. The food is extra fresh so that you can really taste the difference. Service is good. Breakfast and lunch are great. We haven't tried dinner yet which is served only on weekends.

Robert Hendrick

Great menu centered on salads, burgers, and sandwiches. I had the Philly sandwich but several caught my attention. Great quality ingredients, and cooked perfectly. Wife had the Caprese salad with chicken. Quiche also looked very good.

I ate here during my Appalachian trail thru-hike. The staff was very friendly. The place was fairly busy and clearly visited frequently by locals, (which is always a good sign). I started out with a wonderful salad which had spinach and lots of scrumptious blueberries and blue cheese. The portion sizes were good. As I'm burning up lots of calories, I also had a buffalo chicken sandwich and fries (which were also savory). I finished up with an ice cream sandwich which was handmade. If I lived closer, I would certainly come again.

Friendly, low key atmosphere. Excellent service. An excellent, concise menu of breakfast and lunch items. Coffee drinks and fresh pastries were available, can't wait to go back and try these. My wife is a vegetarian, and a bit fussy - but was easily able to pick a great lunch. I had the gorgonzola burger - superb! We happened to pick a busy hour, early Sunday afternoon, but were seated immediately, ordered and ate after a very brief wait. All in all an excellent, efficient restaurant that managed to have healthy and interesting menu items and also comfortable favorites in a bright and chesty environment.

John Walenczyk

Ummm if you happen to be in the area you need to check out this hidden gem. Seriously impressed by food and staff.

Bright and lovely cafe in the heart of the Bershires. Cute young men serving good coffee and whole wheat pancakes with berry compote to die for. Kids love the over the top hot cocoa in Mason jars. Frothy cappuccino served the same way. Others enjoyed the yummy French toast, pumpkin spice yogurt parfait and chicken sausage. Make a special trip.

This past Saturday we stopped in the Mountainside Cafe for brunch based upon the recommendation of a local fellow. We could not have been more pleased with our decision. The warm welcome, interesting menu options, menu advice and very friendly service provided directly by Sarah, Jessie and Dorian led to a delicious lunch. Selections included the House Roast Turkey Sandwich, two Gorgonzola Burgers and a brunch special Skillet dish accompied by a Root Beer Float and a couple of Black & White Milkshakes prepared right before us with high quality ingredients all sourced locally. The brunch was followed by a selection of onsite freshly baked cookies and a Magic Bar (Wow!!!). Our compliments to Andy (Head Chef), Reed (Sous Chef), the pastry chef (??) and the rest of the kitchen staff for preparing such a tasty lunch which received high accolades from us all. We appreciated being treated so well with the warm welcome, the solid menu advice and all the smiles. We observed that the staff was equally as attentive to the other diners as they were to us. We recommend a visit, especially if you are hungry or for a mid-afternoon snack, when in the Falls Village area!

Very nice spot with good food and snacks/pastries with interesting gluten free options (Heath bar brownie/cookie and pumpkin/white chocolate muffin when we stopped in were GF). Friendly staff and solid coffee (think "Buckstars" but with way more charm). Only gripe would be a little on the pricey side, but it's inline with the area. The outside is clean and understated, while the interior is bright with a great dining layout. Would definitely go back

Wow! What a proper cafe is and should be. Family owned and the quality of food is top notch. So nice to find a real place to sit down and get a bite to eat, some real coffee and real desert. Starbucks is only a pitiful attempt of making a place like this. This beats the overpriced over franchised garbage People are so used to. Sit down l, relax, let their wonderful hospitality take car of you. Enjoy some healthy and delicious food from People who actually care.

During the summers of 1979 and 1980, I used to catch the Bonanza bus to and from New Milford from this location. I would ride my bike along Route 112 from Lakeville and park it by the railroad tracks nearby. Rich memories!

This is the best place to go for a boujee brunch.onkycserved until 11am, which is something to bear in mind. Loved coming here for a catch up with the girls, that specials menu is great and the coffees are always good. It's not super cozy, but the decor is lovely and in summer the out door seating is fantastic. Sometimes felt a little rushed by the staff, even when it wasn't that busy, but that's no beef really.

Anne Ahearn

Stop at this quaint little place for breakfast on our way to VT. Farm fresh food that was prepared perfectly. My husband had eggs with apple smoke bacon. Best bacon we ever tasted..cooked just right and not at all salty...

Very good food but the service is not so good. Wait staff not very attentive and seem to be more interested in spending time on their phones then with their customers.

I love the atmosphere here. Restaurant is light and bright with the menu written (in someone's great handwriting) on boards above the counter, but also delivered to your table. A variety of coffees are available, latte, cappuccino etc. and the menu changes and is always fresh ingredients. The restaurant is tucked into surrounding nature, and the staff is very friendly. Always a good experience, we especially like going for brunch.

Amazing, helpful staff and great food. If I could give this place a thousand stars, I would. On a road trip, my 5 year old son felt ill and (disclaimer, carsick story coming) he threw up in the entry way to Mountainside Cafe. He was mortified and we walked back out to the car. An amazing server came outside to us, and handed us a bottle of water, and told us not to worry. She took our order and brought it out to us, and included a complimentary serving of fruit for my son. She also wrote a sweet note to him wishing him to feel better. We will certainly go back here on our way past. The food was also delicious, we had a fabulous burger and great chicken strips.
