My wife and I found this gem of a coffee and lunch spot during a recent trip from philadelphia to cape cod. We googled nearby places to eat while on the highway and enjoyed great lunch which was reasonably priced and exceeded all expectations. We had the butternut squash soup, Tuscan wrap and chicken salad. They were better than good. We also got some bakery deserts for the Road. The food, price and service were enough to justify a very strong review. This place deserves special attention beyond that. The setting inside is bright, really comfortable and clean. Appealing music plays overhead. And these are very. nice. folks. Those who work there, including Gary appear to really enjoy the place and to actually like interacting with customers. The owners husband was helping bring food to the tables and stopped to chat for a while too. We enjoyed the whole experience. This place stands out for all the right reasons. So Much so that my wife and I planned it so we could stop here again on our return trip home. And we did so earlier today, this time for a late breakfast which included a breakfast wrap and bagel with spreads. And a donut. And a cookie for later. The teas were nice and hot and the spiced chai was worth the calories. Little touches included the patch over the opening in the cup lid to keep the teas hot. Gary recognized us from our first trip. We also chatted with one of the managers. And we watched and saw that the staff treated all the customers the same as they were treating us today and as they treated us during our first visit. This is the kind of good comfortable friendly satisfying cafe that we would all like to have close to where we live. It's disappointing that we don't. Give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

I came from east haddam for a massage. It was highly recommended by Massage by Oriana. They raved about it and rightly so! Butternut squash soup delicious! I had an egg salad sandwich too all for $10. Oh forgot to add the apple cider donut.. Great prices, nice atmosphere. Would love to come back

Went here with my mom and dad because mom thought the victorian house or whatever down the street was gross. Its funny bc she said "oh this place is nice!" then we went in and jeez the look on her face took a complete 180. So we went here instead and it was pretty good.

So I went there today with my wife and grabbed an Ice Coffee and she had an espresso. Both were delicious. And, we also had raspberry crumb cake and a sugar cookie with sprinkles. Both were amazing and prices were super reasonable. Will come back very soon.

Great selection of breakfast choices. They also have a good selection of coffees. You can order at the counter and then have a seat and the food will be brought out to you. It's a good place to just order a drink and grab a comfortable seat and hang out for a while, reading, meeting with friends.

its a nice atmosphere but the food isnt really made with love or special. its just like, bread with ingredients on it. the hot cocoa is alright though and they put like a sticker on it so it doesnt spill?. also they sell some local handmade crafts like jewelry and little pins and knickknacks, which gives it a cool cafe vibe. usually its really packed on weekends and there will be no parking, so people love to go there if theres an opportunity. would be cool if they had better bottled sodas or something, or like, grilled cheese that was really cheesy. idk if they even have soup. bagel seems like just a bagel with one packet of philadelphia cream cheese on it.... served on like a little dixie plate with a square white napkin. theres like two couches, three tall tables, and like five or so shorter tables. and they have like a fireplace or something similar. what id want is a veggie burger or a good omelette but i dont think they have a grill.

Egg salad on toasted gluten free bread delicious always. Had a cup of Christmas coffee this morning that too was yummy. And the cute little blitzen sticker to cover the pour stop is always a nice touch.

Just the fact that several other reviews say it gets too crowded is saying something about how good this place is. It's not bad business to be full. Your doing something right. Better food than Cheshire coffee by miles.
