The breakfast sandwich, salads, and pizzas are their better items and the place is BYOB. Don't send your food back or critique the food because the kitchen can hear everything in this small venue and they might confront you about it. My friend had been several times in the last weeks to try different menu items before inviting us all for creative brunch. Our friend told us which menu items they had tried and which they recommended but we just ordered what we wanted. I got a breakfast pizza and might have mumbled about it being a bit watery with the raw tomatoes on top but after blotting it off a bit the pizza itself was good. We grumbled to each other a bit about how it wasn't great food, the waffle was "fluffy" not crispy style and the medium done eggs were very raw and french toast was only one slice of bread, but the fact that we could bring our own champagne for mimosa's and the cute place made up for it. One person ordered the eggs medium (they ask how you want your eggs cooked) and politely asked for and an egg cooked a little longer because hers was very raw. The waitress kindly asked if she wanted everything transferred to a new plate and came back with everything on the new plate and a very well done egg. The person that ordered the waffle ate 90 percent of it then realized there was a hair on the plate and just mentioned it to the waitress as she picked up the plates. We did not directly request anything for free and were generally enjoying our time despite the food but they didn’t include the waffle or the meal with the runny egg on the bill. The bill came before the coffee that one friend had ordered so we asked if they could bring back the bill with the coffee added as well as the coffee. None of these requests were made by the friend that invited us all there but yet after this request, the owner came out of the kitchen and immediately started yelling at the friend that had invited us all about how they were trying to get free food and they should stop coming. When my friend talked back in a voice of equal volume the person asked why they were yelling at him! The heated argument continued as my friend tried to defend themself to the owner. Another woman came out of the kitchen and said she would call the cops on my friend even though the owner had clearly started the encounter. A member of the group ended up just paying the bill at the counter and my friend left crying while the rest of us tried to reason with the woman from the kitchen. We all live in the neighborhood and I wanted to give this place another chance as I wasn’t a fan of the food previously but had also been here for the West End Farmer Market fundraiser and had a good experience. I’m sad to say I’m not planning to go back here because this place needs to figure out their food and the communication between the cooks, waitresses, and customers.
