REVIEWS OF Daybreak Coffee Roasters IN Connecticut

Nancy Hayden

What a great coffee shop! It has a wonderful coffee and tea selection, while serving breakfast and lunch, and even little snacks of cheese and grapes or olives. The crew is friendly and helpful. Always a pleasure to step inside Daybreak!

Shawndra Green

Oh my gosh! This place is AMAZING! THE COFFEE IS OUT OF THIS WORLD!

Matt McQueeney

As someone who roasts coffee at home they do a great job.

Matt Calderone

Great place with solid coffee that actually tastes good. Go for the French pressed and live on the edge. Note you will see lots of yoga pans and I ran a 5k t shirts in this place. Take that as you will.

Mr. Robot

Bean Perfection. Fresh roasted in house.... Best espresso around! Top notch staff, knowledgeable, really an example for all other businesses....cant stress that enough. Im a customer of 5yrs +

Heather Soucy

They have the best dark roast coffee..it's not like some places where you get dark roast and it's very bitter. I would pay the extra money to get a good cup of coffee!

Dan

I only have ever gotten coffee beans here but I come every week. It's legit. Service has been good but even if it weren't, I'd still come.

A H

Nice small coffee shop with a great location and a large variety of coffee flavors and of different origins. The food is good and the prices excellent. The only negative point is the staff. No smiles, too young and inexperienced. Got there the worst cappuccino. The staff is not happy to be working there and it looks like they would better enjoy being home. Just a very negative vibe!It looks like they are doing you a favor . Been there many many times and always had the same impression with most of these young ladies!

Larry Cosentino

I love this place. Best small roaster I have ever been to. I order solely from here and i love that they will ship. Staff is friendly homely welcoming can speak intellectually on the coffees and roasting process. You can even watch the roasting taking place. Such a relaxing comfortable non rushed coffee house.

Sarah Hart

Gino Cordone

Best coffee roaster in town

Robert Grismer

Have not found a coffee roaster locally that does a better job. Fresh roasted is the only way to go, or you can go to Starbucks where the coffee was roasted on the other side of the country months ago, yuk.

Greg Fopma

I've been coming here for 8 years now. The coffee is not over roasted and bitter like the majority of coffee chains serve. They roast their own beans daily on site. I highly recommended. They also have good panini for lunch and Great wrapped and ready to purchase coffee gifts, and they have a rewards program for frequent visitors.

Bobby Butcher

Great environment, the freshest and best tasting coffee and one of the only if not the only place in Connecticut with a front of house roaster!

Aerin Paulo

Good coffee, decent breakfast food. Love walking around to see the local goods for sale.

Daryl Lucas

Nice place for a cup of coffee with friends.

Ted Roberts

Good food. Beautiful place

Naima Craft

I've always seen this place and I thought that I would start my morning off with a great cup of coffee. I entered the establishment and was seen not only by the servers up front but also by a guy who appeared to be a manager of some sort and no one said "Hi" or even "Good morning". Despite my observation, I continued to the back of the store to order my coffee. I stood waiting to be served and waited and waited. Again...though the staff members were present completing their tasks, no one said "hi" or "be right with you". So I just waited and put a bigger smile on my face, you know, thinking it was just an off day. I then noticed a woman come in after me, she noticed I was there and so did the server. Guess who got served first? NOT MEE.... Anyway....while I will never be returning to this establishment, the coffee did smell great and I wish them all the success in the future!

Daybreak roasts their fantastic blends of coffees fresh on location. The aroma hits you as soon as you enter the building. The staff is friendly and passionate about what they do. The shop is cozy and comfortable to sit down and enjoy a cuppa. Food is available too. Their breakfast panini are delicious.

Joey DeCrescenzo

Best coffee in town by far. If you like burnt coffee and bland service go to Starbucks. If you want the best cup of coffee you've ever had served with a smile check out daybreak.

Michael Pritchett

Daybreak Coffee Roasters is a great little coffee shop. They roast their own coffee, sell numerous varieties of coffee and loose tea, as well as beautiful specialty chocolates. And you can find plenty of delicious mixed coffee drinks made to order. There are also baked goods and incredible sandwiches. We love this place!

Bradley Gifford

Best coffee bean source in the area. I go 15 min out of my way for this place. The only one around, that I know of, the roasts the beans right there in the shop. The staff that works the bean counter is well trained and knowledgeable. You can also open an account with them and track your picks. They also carry a healthy selection of premium loose leave teas. Food is limited but pretty good.

David Rodriguez

This is a nice Cafe to visit and sit down to have a cup of coffee. It is good for the price and a mellow atmosphere. They offer a variety of whole bean coffee with flavored and decaf options. They also serve sandwiches and soups and seasonal desserts.

Great beans. I lived and worked in Glastonbury since Daybreak first opened 20 years ago, and always got my whole beans there. I moved a couple of years ago to Fairfield County, and couldn't find anywhere that has as fresh and flavorable .beans. So I get my beans from Daybreak through mail order now. The crumb cake is great too!

This place is what the modern world is missing. With Dunkin Donuts on every street corner, it's nice to see a small local shop like this that is still in operation. The variety of coffee is AMAZING! The atmosphere is nice and classic, the aromas of roasting coffee is phenomenal, and the staff are very friendly! I highly recommend stopping in to check this place out!

Chris Polzella

Quality products. Good service.

Kathy Corrente

I never felt so UNWELCOMED in my life at a coffee shop!!! I would rather go to Cumberland Farms!!! The first time I went there I felt like an alien, and the second time I went there I felt like I was out of place. When I asked where the lids were I got the big eye roll, and when I was trying to decide what I wanted, the baristas were very impatient and I felt rushed. The “regulars” got great treatment and were wholeheartedly welcomed. You need to be “in the know” to be accepted at this place. I don’t want to be in the know at this rude place...

Matthew Allen

Very nice place for a cup of coffee. Multiple brew options. Excellent!

mmchirico

It is so amazing to have a grassroots, homegrown coffee roaster in Glastonbury. A rare artifact and a great coffee shop. Not just for coffee but gift baskets and delectable breakfast and lunch options.

the treece

Great local coffee shop

Chris Valva

I've been going to Daybreak for years, and their coffee is always fantastic! I usually buy beans that we grind at home for our morning coffee, but I've been known to buy some tea and occasional chocolates too. Their pastries and coffee drinks are also quite good. Plus, their customer loyalty program is great, and the reward dollars add up quickly.

Tim Sevetz

Great coffee, good prices and a very friendly staff!

David W

Nice espressos, nice sandwiches and more importantly you can eat away from the AC and enjoy the sun in the terrace

John Monteiro

Really like this place. Great daily selections. Always visit here when I'm in town.

Jackie Owens

Daybreak is a beautiful, convenient, really well managed coffee shop in town. The selection is not huge, which is fine with me because what they do serve is so well balanced and tasty.

I don't know who's working there Sundays but they were so rude. They literally ran us out so close to their closing time. I mean, yes you're closing, but you don't need to hover over us and usher us on. We were leaving. Come here to get treated like cattle. Never coming again.

James LaFond

My family and I visit often and the food and coffee is terrific. Unfortunately my husband and I were not with our daughter (21) and son (26 permanently disabled) while visiting yesterday. My daughter sat our son down at a table on the patio, and then went inside to make some purchases from the café returning back to join our son while they both ate on the patio. Prior to going to the café, they grabbed some Moe's food for our son which agrees better with his diet. While eating our daughter also saw some of her Wholefoods co-workers occupying one of the café tables enjoying the salads they purchased at Wholefoods. A sunny day, our son was getting hot so our daughter took him inside for a break. She also had her laptop. As she was searching for a table indoors, one of the staff members (a man) very rudely said she could not sit here with a Moe's bag. She then replied that she already made some purchases from the café, and her brother was just sitting with her as she needed to watch him. The staff member continued stating it looks bad for our other customers. He then further made comments stating that the Wifi is not free. Again my daughter said she already made a purchase already. His other comments went on stating that the tables outside are the cafe's property too. Our permanently disabled son even made a comment to the man that he did not intend to eat the Moes as he was done already waiting to take the rest in the bag home. The comments kept coming which made them both feel extremely uncomfortable so they left. Meanwhile there was a young women sitting nearby eating while someone joined her with a drink from another store. I am very surprised at this type of behavior as we have never encountered this type of treatment anywhere, nor have we ever seen other customers treated in this manner. Being such loyal customers, it just gives us a different outlook on Daybreak and of course our children do not want to visit ever again. We don't want to stop coming, we just feel we need to be with our children so they do not receive this type of treatment again. We tried contacting the owners regarding yesterday's event who were not available.

Janet Vamos

I started going here because the coffee is AMAZING, and I kept coming back because the staff/service is beyond wonderful. You are always greeted with a warm "hello" and a friendly smile, and the staff takes the time to learn your name, answer your questions, and make suggestions. What I especially love about Daybreak is that they don't "go through the motions" when making your drink and they don't rush your order. They take their time and prepare your drink order with care. You leave there feeling special!

Maryann Denobrega

If I could, I'd give it zero. Called ahead two breakfast sandwiches and they said 10 minutes. After waiting over 25 and seeing others waiting for just drinks, and asking if it would be much longer, we left. Very dissatisfied.

Samantha DaDalt

Great coffee and customer service. Large shop filled with adorable plants.

Ashley Gardner

Great spot to meet for coffee. They have great specialty drinks and the staff is very nice

Melissa Allen

My first time at Daybreak and it was great! This place is very quaint and classy! I tried their sugar free caramel steamer and it was delicious! I highly recommend stopping by when u have a chance!

William Wagner

Met with the smell of freshly roasting coffee. The nicely hot cappuccino was well made (so many places hand over a lukewarm cappuccino). And the breakfast sandwich on sourdough gave it a lighter touch than the usual English muffin of croissant.

Rudy T

One of my favorite coffee houses. Stopping in is a must if in the area. Friendly staff, and good energy amongst the patrons. WiFi friendly- Appreciated being able to get some work done with a great latte and snack.

Emily Brown

Such a cool coffee shop! I've never seen coffee beans being roasted in front of me. It took the cashier a few times to get our simple order right, but meh the coffee and bagels were delicious! Five stars :) also, I appreciated how many different creamers and sweeteners they have to offer -- almond milk, skim, whole, cream, half and half, Splenda, stevia, sugar, cocoa, cinnamon, etc... Very good prices, to boot!

Pete G

Great coffee and great smells

Michael Fulco

Best coffee around. Fresh roasted. Many varieties.

Justin Sloan

Fran Storch, N.D.

Had a LOVELY employee, Kerri today. She was very helpful suggesting bean coffees and leaf tea. Great coffee and tea, and very personable staff! Great ambience to relax on your own or with friends!

Freshly roasted coffee is great. Good selection too

Wei Chen

Brian Doons

Great Coffee Roaster.. if you like coffee just walking in when they are rising will make you very happy. I typically just buy roasted beans, excellent high end coffee ground to your specs or whole bean. A bit pricey but well worth it if you love coffee..

William W

Best roasted coffee in the hartford area. Try their African roasts.

Gary DeCrescenzo

Martha Gaudreau

Always great service and delicious coffee beverages!

Alisha Morrison

It's a cute place. The peppermint latte was amazing. The pace smelled like heaven.

A A

The pumpkin spice latte had a very strong earthy taste to it. It also had an overwhelming clove taste to it. I didnt really like it. It was okay, but large cost $5.85. For this price, I will not purchase again nor recommend. Nice cozy atmosphere inside, so I will be returning in the future and trying some other menu items.

Pat Guerard

Morning meeting of the local boys!

Gregory Hyman

Awesome coffee, very cozy place. Crowded weekend mornings.

Taryn Mermigos

Great place to grab a coffee and sit a while.

albert mendoza

Good atmosphere. Great variety of coffee

Joseph Fydenkevez

Very nice place for my morning coffee. Staff is very good and helpful. Both my son and I enjoy going there to purchase whole bean coffee that is roasted inhouse. We always tend to buy toast butternut, and then try other flavors.

paul lanzoni

I've been going to the daybreak since it opened it's a very nice location with great coffee and super nice people

Jessica T

Loved the flavored iced coffee which is brewed rather than adding syrup with tons of sugar. Great local spot with reasonable prices for the area.

Louise's

Lovely coffee shop with a variety of coffee, American roast, french press, etc. It was busy mid afternoon, since it was sunny in Connecticut. A little crowded in the rear where you order coffee, still enough seating around the place, front, back, and outside to enjoy sipping. I noted people came with families and young kids as well.

Rob Luppi

Good place to pick up beans that they roast in-house

Laura Goldner

I've been coming here for years and it saddens me to give this coffee shop a 3 star. The last few times I've come the service hasn't been so great. They've forgotten to make my drink, my breakfast Pannini was given to someone else by mistake. They made me another and it wasn''t correct. I just kept it and there was barely anything on it. Disappointing to say the least. The owner never says hi when you come in. I've been coming here for so many years and he's just not a friendly guy. I hope they step up their game so I can give them a 4 or 5 star again. It's a great little shop coffee is very good. They roast their own beans. I'm sure I'll be back but I may wait awhile to see if things change.

Keith Stauch Training

Clean. Fast workers.

Angela Albrecht

Adorable little place. Very quiet and excellent for getting a quick bite to eat. Try their Chai Latte and Caramel Apple Bar! Pure heaven

Derek Benson

Great selection, staff, and atmosphere. If you want real fresh coffee and/or tea, an enjoyable atmosphere, and nice gifts - this is the place. So long Starbucks - Hello Daybreak!

Scott Mackenthun

Great smell and good coffee

Melissa Tash

Best coffee in the area..better than Starbucks and Peet's. Huge variety of flavors for lattes which always makes me upset when I have to choose from 3. They have like 20. Amazing I will be back and I won't be going to Starbucks. Thanks to the owner for watching my dog for a second too. Very nice place..

Justin Kyle

Daybreaker 2.0!

Vinod Kumar

Very nice experience. We liked the place. I wanna come here every saturday

mary tyszka

evening comfort tea..best way to end a day

Floyydd Mumford

Top of the line in house roaster. Great variety of beans and terrific atmosphere.

John Seals

Great place! I got a coffee and a pastry and I couldn't have asked for better food or service. I also grabbed some whole bean coffee on the way out. It's so good! I have it every day. They seem very knowledgeable about their coffees. I appreciate their attention to customer experience.

Ian Roberts

Excellent service always a pleasant smile on all the workers I've been going there for many years always great coffee and fresh

Justin Clark

If you're a hardcore coffee drinker that cares about bean origins and roasts then this place is for you. Otherwise, stick to other faster options. I got an iced drink and it didn't even come with ice. Very weird. PRO: They have outdoor seating so it's a nice place to enjoy the sun Coffee beans are very good CON: Food options were also very limited... Unless you want gourmet chocolates. The place is also fairly cramped. Coffee was expensive

Chris Davies

Stopped here before heading out on a long drive, a unique atmosphere where the beans are roasted right in front of you. The coffee is phenomenal
