I come to Lamar on business and frequently come to Brew Unto Others in between assignments. I’ve come here for a couple of years. I appreciate the free wifi connectivity so I can catch up on my work emails. I’m a vegetarian and wish they offered some options for vegetarians. So, I usually end up getting a breakfast bagel and a drink. Today my son accompanied me and I got him a specialty drink and a breakfast bagel. I asked if they could make me a veggie club sandwich. They said they didn’t have tomatoes and offered a salad with bacon instead. I asked for a breakfast bagel with pepper jack cheese. The girl brought me a bagel with the cheese and no egg. That is not a breakfast bagel! I went to the counter and showed her the sandwich and she proceeded to challenge me on the order I had given her. I asked if she wanted the bagel so they could correct the order and she said no, she would bring the egg out to me! She brought a pre-made heated egg patty out to me with rubber gloves in a cardboard box to the table! Seriously!! Any self-respecting establishment would take the bagel back and make a new sandwich the right way. Some appreciation for the business people bring to their “Christian” establishment. And on top of that to deal with attitude. I will not give this business my money again. I wish I could take back the 20% gratuity I included in my payment. Rude!

This is a nice place. Most of the staff is friendly. I had lunch, which was good, nothing particular. I don't know why the call a corned beef sandwich a pastrami; two different meats. Makes no sense. Other thing I was really disappointed at was an ice tea with the flavor of coffee, to me that is gross. They make the ice tea using the same filter holder as coffee. I dumped it out. Then another day I told them about it and the girl had said with an attitude that the filter probably wasn't wiped out well enough. They didn't even offer to compensate me. Bottom line, don't use the same equipment to process coffee & tea. Machine yes, filter holder, no. I have had a good chai tea there a couple of times.
