Very Delicious coffee
By far my favorite coffee spot in the bay, try to come before a rush. Long lines
The baristas were super kind and helpful even though it was morning rush. I'll definitely be coming back!
Bonus cup? Yes please.
Nice alternative to the regular Starbucks. Free WiFi and lots of tables & chairs to sit and work or chat.
Great coffee and unique options (see their specials of the day). Docked them only because they don't serve half-caf espresso drinks, only decaf or fully leaded.
Cute spot with creative food. Tasty Chai Latte and flavorful snacks.
Hip coffee shop. I was first introduced to Oak Milk latte here, now I’m completely hooked to Oat Milk.
It was late afternoon, and I didn't want to be up all night, so I took a gamble and had a decaf espresso. My eyes are opened - this was the best decaf espresso I've had in my life (and one of the best espressos overall). Wow! Simply amazing coffee. And the Manresa pastries are as tasty as you'd expect.
just came across this place while driving on steven's creek. The coffee quality was very good. we ordered cafe brulee and mocha. both were awesome.
The coffee is so tasty. The wait can be long at times, but that just means that it's going to be good, right? Even the pastries are recommended.
good vibe and nice coffe
Great coffee
Love the dark chocolate coconut mocha here. It's not too sweet and is one of their best sellers.
Very bad service, I asked for an extra hot cappuccino, they made it left it on the counter and did not bother to tell me it was my order. By the time I realized it was mine the coffee was already Luke warm and it wasn't great coffee either
I’m not sure if this place got rated high because of the food.. or because it’s a cute coffee shop.. I wasn’t quite convinced it was because of the coffee. Going to have to come back and try it again. My cappuccino was pretty good but I wasn’t blown away. The coffee on tap was cold and quite expensive for premade coffee. The inside is cute and I love that they sell a great selection of craft beer.
Great coffee. Horrible customer experience. Waited too long in line. As amazing the coffee is, the order process & time spent in line isn't worth it.
Delicious coffee, speedy service despite the long line, and lots of seating options you don't always get in a small coffee place. Great for meeting up with a friend to catch up or to get work done on laptop.
great tasting cold brew. can be hard to grab a seat sometimes since it's so popular. easy parking though
Great coffee! I love their lattes and seasonal lattes are usually very good too. They take their time to make it just right. Very friendly staff as well. Lines can get long, but, unless I'm in a rush, I'll wait.
Single bathroom, good Xfinity wifi, too crowded.
Tasty coffee and good service. Only downside is that it's always crowded and it can take a while to get your coffee
It's a nice spot with friendly people. They make a really nice chai tea latte.
I know nothing about coffee. Even though I came about 20 minutes before closing, the people there took the time to explain everything. It was all French to me but I tried there coffee and my head exploded. Went home with some magic coffee beans of my own. Chill environment with a few wooden tables for people to get their caffeine on. Enjoy.
Awesome coffee.
Iced latte was SO good. Sustainable drinkware.
Excellent coffee with good patronage
Great coffee, and the dessert coffees are super unique! Highly highly recommend the the creme brulee coffee.
Excellent coffee! The cubano cappuccino had coffee and milk in perfect proportions. I had a blueberry danish along with my coffee, it was delicious! I heard they make very good scones but they were out of it. I will probably have it the next time I visit Chromatic!
I got the pour over coffee and it was super smooth and good, but also very expensive for a cup of coffee! It’s a good place if you want to treat itself once in a while to good coffee but too expensive for everyday. They also have manresa pastries. I got the coffee cake one and it was delicious
Delicious! Pricey but good. Busy but fast service.
A contemporary coffee shop, very modern architecture, a 'hip' staff. Overall, a genuinely pleasant place to hang out or get some work done. However, their prices seem a little to out of touch with other coffee shops. That's about the only reserve I have about the place. If price is not too important if a factor, then by all means this is a cool spot to check out.
Everything was great quality but still a bit high of a price compared to most quality coffee shops I go to and there were no lower price options for snacks or food. Major pro: environment. There's a small, comfortable space for children to play with donated toys and books which was a sanity saver with a toddler, and I didn't feel it was disruptive to anyone who was studying or working there due to being in a corner away from the majority of tables. Lots of good seating indoor and outdoors even though it was quite crowded but it didn't feel hectic at all. Con: prices are $0.50-$1 higher than I feel is reasonable, especially when the food is for a toddler. Cashier also forgot to ask for typical clarification on my drink, especially given its a higher end shop and I'd expect them to know to ask. I had a cappuccino. Espresso was flavorful and well made. They didn't ask if I wanted it wet or dry and I forgot to request it myself, so it didn't have much foam. I got a ham and cheese sandwich with a side salad included. Both were pretty small for the price but each part was delicious.
I like their coffee and have been coming here for quite a while BUT today I went and got terrible customer service. Bad day for everyone? The moon phase? My bad eyeliner job? Whatever the case, bad vibe today. Make it stop.
Always love the Chromatic experience. Great people, good coffee and tea, nice atmosphere. A little louder than I'd like, but that's all modern coffee shops, these days.
Over rated for the price. Head over a block to Korean Town for a more affordable cup of joe. Sad to say it was enjoyable when it started but prices have gone astronomical and quantity dimishing. Some unique fare worthy of experimental visit. Ask or check prices before ordering to avoid any surprises.
Decent coffee shop. Good service. It is a bit smaller than expected, but still a lot of space for you to sit and stand. Yea there are standing bar tables.
I read an article that said this was a best coffee spot in the Bay. So we came by and tried the Vanilla Latte, Dark Coconut Mocha, chocolate croissant and the Ham & Cheese sandwich. I’m a little hesitant to say this is the best coffee shop but it’s definitely a really good coffee. The latte and Mocha were absolutely delicious, the chocolate croissant was good but typical nothing special and the ham & cheese sandwich was good but nothing to write home about. Overall, go for the coffee and only get the bites to eat if you’re really hungry.
The coffee is so fresh and flavorful and delicious. I'm addicted. Also its aesthetic
Decent coffee place. Usually crowded on the weekend so seating is hard to get. Coffee and service are both good. We ordered a latte and dark coconut mocha.
It has a nice atmosphere and coffee both better than Starbucks.
I've always loved their coffee so I was happy to visit their retail location for the first time. The coffee is as good as it always has been, world's better than cheap coffee. But, unfortunately the prices are just asinine. I paid over $4 for a flat white smaller than Starbucks' tall version. If they just reduced prices by at least $1-$1.50 I'd come here often. Until then it's just an occasional treat. If you don't mind the prices, it's a decent spot!
Best coffee joint in the area....and they have HAPPY HOUR!! Not just happy hour with coffee either
Their mocha is slightly sweet with a good accent of coffee. My favorite place for a dessert coffee. A tad expensive though.
taste is good, but it’s difficult to find a seat. People sitting there studying, using their laptops, play chess.
The coffee and service was excellent. No complaints there. Ambiance was a 1 out of 5. Also surprisingly pricey! Good amount of space and outlets, but really there was really explicit music on and it was actually incredibly distracting. I’m not a prude, but, man, the f-word every other line and inappropriate material. And it was played quite loudly - and I like loud music - but I couldn’t even think. It’s such an easy thing to fix but it really made me and my friend uncomfortable as we tried to get work done.
The coffee is always good and the crew is always friendly. Good coffee+good vibes, you can't go wrong!
Pricey, but easily my favorite cup of coffee.
Good coffee
This place is crazy good, the line was long but they were on top of it. I wish I lived closer
It was good coffee ,they need a microwave to heat up Luke warm coffee though other then that great place 4
Some of the best coffee in the bay and coolest coffee spot in South Bay. Local feel, laid back vibe, great place to get some work done, catch up with friends, or play a board game.
It's ight
Incredible pour overs with great quality beans. Really cozy atmosphere and nice employees. I can't wait to try out the Keynote beans, they sound so great.
Millennial $6 Latte with single source expensive upscale coffee options. Crowded all the times. Expect long lines and excellent coffee.
Great beans, nice workers. I like that they have a nice selection of pastries as well. Outside looks generic, inside is remarkably welcoming.
It was too good. The staff is super nice,my coffee was not that hot as I would have loved it,so I asked to warm it but since they had nothing to warm it,the guy gave me a fresh hot cup of coffee. I was very impressed..would definitely go back..
Long line, but friendly staff, nice ambiance, and the delightful aroma of coffee.
I loooooove their coffee! I’m definitely a fan of Chromatic flat white and cappuccino. And I like their interior - woody and simple.
This place is like the holy of holies to my husband. He still leaves early to go here and have an oat milk cappuccino before any appointments in the South Bay. Even though we have been all over the Bay Area, he still thinks they are one of the best coffee shops out there. They have fantastic little toasts with cheese, fruits and greens too.
I wouldnt know lol. We are BOTH more of the tea variety lolol. I am like ehh. I am a turner. Aaron is just like what the eff and I am lioe dear g/d please just- I am traumatized haha. I feel his pain, yes.
What a great spot. Lots of seating and places to plug in. Chill vibe. Good coffee. Good chocolates. There are even games available to borrow while you sit.
Chromatic is one of my favorite coffee place in the whole bay area, and possibly my no.1 for south bay craft coffee scene. I used to go there a lot when I lived in Cupertino a year ago, and still missing their FLAT WHITE. They achieve a great balance of acidity, sweetness and nice foamed milk in their espresso drinks. And I also admire the great passion they put in their roasted coffee with presentation of different bean processing method. Definitely recommend it!
Cheddar & goat melt was barely toasted - so not much of a melt. Quality ingredients tho so points for that. "Dessert" Chai latte wasnt very sweet
Good coffee. Cool place to hang out. The brews are very good.
Amazing coffee at ridiculous prices. But a great stop for a treat.
Chromatic Coffee is the place to be for those who love coffee, art, galleries, chill vibes, and culture. Think artists meets musicians meets gallery meets coffee house meets live music meets community events meets hipster meets glam hippie meets nerdie meets Bay Area. A special meld of cultures and vibes, truly art in itself. I love the Unicorn Coffee Blend to gift around the holidays for Christmas, the bag is epic and all my girlfriends who enjoy the Unicorn trend get excited. Personally, I always get iced coffee in a mason jar when I go, and people watch, work remote from my computer, and dream up creative masterpieces. I have yet to attend one of their live art gallery events or music events but I am dying to go, as everything Chromatic touches is simply epic.
My favorite coffee (Keynote Honey) in the Bay Area. Cool baristas and local artists are showcased.
Really great espresso. I had a cappuccino, my wife had a latte, we both agreed it was outstanding. My son had their spring toast with goat cheese, greens and pickled onions and he loved it. Service went pretty fast considering the very long line (out the door when we arrived). Despite the crowd we had no problem finding seats. If I lived in this neighborhood I would be a regular.
Latte with Oat Milk, Kouign Amann, Whole Wheat Chocolate Cookies, and Goat & Cheddar Cheese Melt are all delicious! Keynote drip coffee from Brazil is nice and light too. You can get refill for $1!
Best customer service award goes to this coffee shop. I was deciding on what to order when this guy cut in front of me in line. I thought it was rude but kind of just forgot about it and shrugged it off. The barista apologized on his behalf and then comped my drink as an extra step of saying sorry. That meant a lot and told me that they really care about customer service and value their customers. I ordered a lactose free latte. It was an oat milk latte with toffee nut I think. they also had a large sections of grounds that you could buy and coffee accessories but maybe next time! Not from the area but will definitely be back if I ever am!
Extremely crowded with a long line on a Saturday afternoon. Service was not that slow though. There's a nice buzzing environment and some table space to work at (if you can find an empty seat). I ordered the Cafe Brulee, which is a regular latte with powdered sugar on top which then gets torched. Mediocre experience. The seasonal Love Affair drink was really nice though!
Rude counter help, dirty, old table setup and not worth the price
Worth the drive!
Loved the place, should try the Gibraltar; bought the coffee beans, should be good.
I really enjoy coffee, i liked their light toast that i believe it is from colombia. I appreciate suggestions but dont try to talk me out of my own drink. Do not be condecending, i work in a coffee shop too, just because i dont use your lingo doesnt mean i dont know what i want. Please be kind to your guest. Soy milk would be awesome.
Good coffee and a little trendy, cool hangout with your laptop. People watching is spot on and the staff behind the counter is interesting. Curious about other people’s perspectives.
Very good coffee in an enjoyable, well-lit space. Pastry from Manresa, as well as a selection of sandwiches and quiche. The espresso options include a blend and a single-origin; two pour-over options as well as a few batch-brew varieties are available each day. The cafe has two large interior seating areas as well as a few tables outside, facing the parking lot.
Nice place to meet friends and enjoy some java
Good coffee, friendly staff. Pastries are a bit pricey but very good.
Only coffee place in the area I know if that actually gives you a good discount for your own cup (50¢) and doesn't charge you extra for being lactose intolerant.
The espresso on its own was merely okay. A little too bitter and astringent for my taste. I prefer a smoother shot. I enjoyed my cappuccino. Pretty design and very good overall taste. The baristas definitely have some skill. I was torn between 3 and 4 stars for this review. I'd prefer to give them 3.5 stars. They lost a star because the espresso was disappointing. And half a star because of price/value. There are better espresso relatively nearby for less money.
Delicious single origin pour and espressor. We tried Holly mountain, lot 263, and poured Kunji.
This place has truly awesome drinks. I love the quality. If you want an iced treat, the dark coconut mocha will not disappoint and the seasonal drinks are always amazing. Right now I'm loving the iced thin mint. It's worth the drive. They also have weekend brunch, local beers, and an awesome bagel place next door if you want more than a latte. If I have a busy day it's a great treat to get started.
The seasonal and dessert coffees are definitely a specialty item worth going here for. They also have some toasts and sandwiches if you're hungry and don't want to go elsewhere. Kinda pricey for what they are but they're decent
Great for laptops, good pastries-goodies. They resisted my adding lots milk to my coffee, I didn't like that. But they do have copious outlets and even a sofa near the restrooms, I saw a mother and kids back there, so I like this place overall.
The atmosphere is very cool and friendly. Usually a line for ordering. The bread and the coffee are very tasty! There are outdoor sittings!
Perfect cappuccino served in a real cup and not paper! Pleasant atmosphere for either working, studying or just hanging out with friends.
Good coffee good ambience
The decor is the best part, with the chromatic branded coffees on the shelves, along with the Manresa Bread products. A hot chocolate cost over $5; whipped cream was abruptly denied for some reason by the unsociable cashier. They were out of cups for their $4.49 cappuccino so it came in a tumbler. This place can be good to hang out with friends in a nice atmosphere with decent drinks.
Great coffee and warmed up pastries from Manresa bread! Line is long but moves pretty fast
Best coffee
Awesome coffe. Tried Blue berry mocha with oats milk ,its pretty good
The best coffee roaster in town
I always have a lovely time here. The team is very helpful and makes each experience positive and unique.
Coffee isn't bad, but over priced for what you are getting. Staff member taking orders was extremely pretentious and rude, service beyond terrible. This was my first, and last visit.
I love this coffee place. The service is a little slow but that's only because they make each drink by hand and make it carefully. My husband and I have tried coffee beans from almost all the coffee roasters on the peninsula and they by far have the best beans. I highly recommend giving them a try.
Great staff... I wish they would make blended drinks...
Amazing coffee and nice wholesome pastry selection. Prep takes a while because they are all about technique and because of this the line can back up at times. Local art gives a nice Vibe and connection... This is a great place to hang out. Coffee beans can be pricey compared to buying a pound of Peet's or Starbucks but the subtleties in their beans are great.
Love Chromatic!! I love its ambience, love its baristas, love its drinks. Its winter seasonal drinks are great, and the latte what I usually get is always great, too.
I Love this place and their staff. When I crave coffee this is where I go. I never use to be a coffee drinking until I came here. Their Cold Brew is strong. Vanilla latte is super delicious. And the dark chocolate mocha...mmmmm. Easy parking. Can get busy but ALWAYS worth the wait.
Awesome coffee. On the tap options are great.
My favorite local coffee shop. The coffee here is fantastic, no matter how you order it.
Super friendly staff and delicious coffee! The growler of cold brew was just what we needed for a road trip.
Best coffee ever and they have tons of seating. Highly recommended.
Coffee was pretty good but it was hands down the longest I've waited for a coffee in a line that was less than 10 deep.
Outstanding coffee & breads. Busy but comfortable place to be.
It's my second home. Ah, the familiar scent of thick black coffee to rouse you out of a hangover. Ah, the thick sweet bitter taste of french roast to wake you up when you have a morning deadline, haven't started your work, and it's already 10pm. What can I say? I'm a discriminating man. Also, how can you NOT love a place called "Chromatic Coffee"? People, c'mon!
Great coffee with a more creative, student ambiance.
Friendly service and the best coffee around
Lovely, open café with great coffee. Has a small play area for children in the back. Great place to catch up or get some work done.
It's liquid crack...very very damn good coffee.
Enjoy the art of coffee here. Watch as your barista lovingly creates your beverage attentively, testing the warmth of the milk, eyeing the level of the fresh grounds, tasting the complex flavors of steeped golden liquid for just the right balance of bitterness and aroma. Skip here if you're in a hurry. Otherwise emerse yourself in the joy of the creation of the perfect cup of joe. Also bring funds: 6oz decaf americano plus a warm green tea latte for only $10.
Great coffee and they don't charge extra for milk alternatives!
Local Coffee & Art Silicon Valley Destination Spot: Do it for the Unicorn Blend & Keynote Blend A collaboration of “boujie” artisan coffee, art, and local charm. The charm keeps it humble and quirky (post tech takeover) with the earthy and artsy vibes of old school Silicon Valley that the locals and transplants love. The coffee is everything artisan and all you would expect for the price (well worth the few dollars more than the average peets or Starbucks). The keynote blend is my favorite as it has notes of honey and caramel and toffee - a hint of sweet but not too sweet. The art on the coffee bean bags make them beautiful gifts for the coffee lovers in your life. The coffee label also has a pop-up cafe in SFO airport and a pop-up cafe at ebay HQ. On weekends they host a brunch and a beer and meat/cheese board pairing. They also have a local art and music exhibit for their employees (open to the public) once a month. Food selection is decent for the gluten free or the vegetarian but if you have allergies I would bring food from home. There are some neighboring restaurants and small cafes near by and a Safeway Grocery across the street for those who need food allergy specific food. Weekdays can be crowded but there always seems to be just enough room in this hotspot- a lovely array of techies, remote workers, travelers, locals, freelancers, college grad students, and graphic artists. Designer Blends (Coffee) meets community. Everything quirky Silicon Valley would love, appreciate, treasure, and respect.
Definitively different from Peet's or Starbucks and better coffee. Interesting and unusual snacks. Can be crowded on weekends.
Absolutely the best place to get coffee in the South Bay. Don't be fooled by the location in the strip mall. They have great coffee and fantastic brunch as well. Ask for the high priestess if they're serving it.
This is place by far one of my favorite coffee shops. They are extremely consistent, have a nice rewards program and have a huge variety of food and drink options. Their seasonal drink are always on point. They also offer almond milk or oat milk at no extra cost, which is awesome for those who prefer or can't have dairy. Beer is available and they have 20% off during happy hour!
Fancy place with a young clientele. The coffee is very good indeed.
Awesome coffee
The coffee, atmosphere, and service are amazing. Chromatic Coffee is one of my favorite coffee shops in the area. Their coffee a on the more expensive side but the quality makes up for it. There’s tons of space to sit and study and the baristas are very friendly.
The coffee is great and that is a winner straight off the line. The place has seating that encourages meetups as well as small working corners for laptop users. Apart from the coffee, there is a decent menu of quick bites that is appealing as well as appetizing.
One of the best coffee shops in the Bay area. Tasty, friendly, and cozy.
I love coffee and I have been to so many coffee places it's crazy how many coffee establishments exist. So many similarities and yet very little to distinguish themselves it almost makes the whole experience feel mundane and generic. But not this place! It has personality. From the friendly, lively employees to their coffee selection and even their beer selection; yes they sell beer too, isn't that awesome? Anyway, I should note I've only been here a couple times when I found myself in the area but my experiences were great. My only gripe, they don't open early enough. I think 7 am is when they open. Which by then traffic gets pretty bad in that area. Unless you're in a rush to get to work, definitely stop by and check em out. A way more personable experience than Starbucks that's for sure.
The employees there are super friendly - especially this one girl with blue hair. Shower her with compliments if you see her! She deserves it.
The coffee is worth every penny though I can't always justify the cost. Treat yo self, I guess. Delicious variety. It's a real mixed bag of customers too.
If I could give it 10 stars, I would. Chromatic coffee is one of the top 5 coffees I've tasted in the US. Freshness, of course, has a lot to do with that; it's roasted in small batches here in San Jose. They sell so much coffee and serve so much in the cafe that your bag (or cup) contains coffee that was roasted no more than 10 days ago. That's the perfect timing for coffee. The cafe is wonderful, too. It's a mix of everyone from the Silicon Valley: engineers, marketers, tech entrepreneurs, U Santa Clara students, artists, musicians, parents, kids of all ages, dogs, and even the occasional bird! The atmosphere is friendly and low-key. The baristas know their stuff. One warning: Chromatic isn't Starbucks! Ordering a Venti Latte is gonna get you a strange look. Most drinks come in one size, and in general they don't do custom drinks. Having said that, they have a bunch of exotic choices.
If you don't mind a line on the weekends, their coffee is great.
good coffee and tea. The only reason I am not giving a 5 star is that I like my capuccino hot and it was not hot enough even after asking for extra hot
My favorite local coffee roasters.
Great coffee shop that also have a small patio which I was grateful for on a late evening of a very hot day . They have more seating inside. I ordered their loose leaf green tea that they serve in a cool brewer.
Ate the Cheese Sandwich. It was pretty boring. For $9.99 I thought they could have put it on some fancy bread but NO it was straight up plastic bag bread from Walmart. For 10 bucks I you'd think they could rustle up something nicer. The salad come with some weird pickled onions and no dressing on some hospital bed pan tray. Not my cup of tea. The ice tea was decent.
Awesome baristas and some of the best coffee I've ever had. Definitely coming back for the great experience they provided
Coffee is pretty great. Usually a line. Atmosphere is interesting. Not a ton of seating but I don’t don’t usually get it to stay.
Coffee good enough but an odd experience with the guy who took my order— I asked for a soy latte and he said they have oat milk if I wanted. I asked if they had any other milk types (oddly enough, I have an oat allergy) and he said “We have almond milk, but it’s trash” Yes, he said “trash” I was stunned— does he not like oat milk? Is their oat milk spoiled? I asked what he meant, and he said something like “It’s just not very good” If I were this guy’s manager and overheard him I would have likely fired him; at minimum, I would have reprimanded and re-trained him. Calling his company’s products “trash” to a customer who is about to order and consume them? Wow My almond milk latte was good
Coffee is good, but not hot enough... Store is not clean enough, part of the ceiling is dirty, the display counter is dusty. There is not enough space for dirty cups, plates and garbage. They do need some improvement.
Live the aesthetic of this place and it’s great to work in! The WiFi works well! The coffee itself is good but the quantity is pretty small. But it’s cool how how they have healthy alternatives to sweeten the coffee, including brown sugar and honey.
Love this place. It's not easy to find a self own coffee shot nowadays.
Dark chocolate coconut mocha is a must try. However, in deed it is a bit sweet tho for most coffee lovers. I find it sweet for me, but I cannot resist the coconut blend within it. Still recommended to try.
Noisy but tasty
Love how their origins change with the seasons, and you have the option to grt hot drinks served iced. Also, it is very cool that they support local events and even have a Pride Raffle for Pride Month to help support their local LGBTQIA+ Center.
Although the the coffee was good, the customer service was severely lacking. Order taker was not at all friendly. When I went to get a lid for my coffee I was rudely alerted by a barista that the drink on the counter was not for me. Overall lackluster experience.
One of my favorite coffee place with great coffee but seatings are quite hard to find. Outside seatings are nice.
the coffee here is amazing, I've never had a cappuccino or espresso that tasted so good before!
My favorite coffee shop in Cupertino. Best latte in the region. Visited twice during my stay.
Great take home espresso beans and really good lattes!
Great coffee, friendly and helpful baristas + steel spoons to mix in sugar(from a jar) - love it.
Chromatic Coffee offers excellent coffee and espresso drinks along with pastries, small bakery items (from Manresa Bread) and surprisingly craft beer. The cafe is located in a medium sized strip mall and somewhat easy to miss from the street although there are other cafes and shops next door. Prices are comparable to most craft coffee places. It can be a little crowded, but there is a quite a bit of indoor seating and less but sufficient outdoor seating. Coffee is top notch! Parking is ample and easy. Overall a good experience, great presentation and a nice atmosphere. I would suggest a visit.
