You know that we do not usually bother to write feddbacks when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Coffee Shop is included in the category of Barbecue restaurant.
Great pulled pork. The brisket was dry but good. I was not digging the chili, albeit, my dad loved it. Dinner roll was basic and so was the salad. Overall, good meal but wait staff seemed annoyed to be employed.
Unfortunately, I have to change my review from a 5 star to a 2 star after the experience I had today with the young girl in the front. Also the food was no where near as good as it usually is. I'm not sure if she was just having an off day, or maybe she was new. But she seemed like she didn't want to be there. What really got under my skin is when I asked for my receipt, she had already waded it up and threw it away. Instead of printing a new one she rolls her eyes, reaches into the trash bin and takes it back out. She handed me a waded up receipt that had Bbq sauce on it from the bin. I said thank you and have a nice day and I got nothing in return.
I am a big fan of BBQ restaurants (don’t believe me, check out my reviews). Whole Hog is just standard, it does not impress or completely disappoint. They are a multi-location chain, so keeping things consistent is more challenging. Their meat seems over or too highly cooked (no pink layer near the surface of the meat). The potato salad is the best I have found. The cheesy corn is over hyped, it taste like someone mixed a box of kraft macaroni cheese pack with a can of corn. The burnt ends are my favorite meat. The ribs do NOT fall off the bone, which is dissatisfying... There #6 sauce was my favorite. You can find better bbq, but whole hog is conveniently located in numerous locations. I neither endorse or advise against a visit. Tell’em Out-Of-Town Tony sent you!
Excellent food, very fast delivery time may have waited 2 minutes from the time I ordered until my food was ready. 5 stars
After a very long week and even longer weekend, it was a joy to be able to pick up my to-go order for Father's Day lunch. Thank you for consistent quality and service. Everyone enjoyed the BBQ baked potato bar and brownies.
If you've ever wanted great bbq, this is the place to go. Many different sauces and types of food make this place amazing.
Good food. Clean restaurant. Fast service. What more can you ask for? I know... More of that baked potato salad. So so good. There are bbq baked potatoes. The BBQ nachos could be better but that's the only thing I would have to not give two thumbs up to.
They have pulled pork nachos which some BBQ places don't. Their sauces were pretty good and potato salad was the kind I really like. Also very generous portions and decent prices. They have a ton of trophies for the not the best BBQ I've ever eaten but good atmosphere and very friendly staff.
Food was okay. Service was nice
Good food and great service.
Zoe G was very sweet and nice! Also consistently great food~
Delicious food. Fast service. What more could you ask for
Great food. I really love the sausage. Good serving and service.
Best bbq in town. Good selection of sauces. Had a special of burnt ends today which are outstanding. The potato salad is excellent.
My son found this place on trip advisor. We went about 10 miles off our route and I would say it was worth it!! Try the sauces...all of them to decide what you like best. We loved #5. Ribs are amazing! We split a ultimate platter for 2 of us and had plenty. Dinner roll nothing great but really nice side salad. But we came for the meat not the sides!! Thanks for making our vacation happy again after a tough morning of car problems!! Eat here eat here!
Meat and baked potato were cold and I was the only customer
Good food and service!
Always great food. Best BBQ in Arkansas. A good arrangement of meal and catering options. Wish they didn't upcharge for a bun from a roll. Doesn't make sense to me, bread for bread. Nice assortment of sauces.
We had our family reunion in their party room with our meal catered with a buffet. I don't know who the two men were that took care of us but whatever they make is not enough!! They did wonderful...kept the buffet with fresh food and kept tables clean. It was a wonderful experience and we certainly will use them again!!
Came in to grab a bite before movie started next door. Ordered half slab of ribs with mac n cheese and coleslaw. Ribs were good, but sides could be better, both were bland. Service fine and prices ok.
This is a BBQ restaurant I use to compare to other BBQ restaurants. Whole hog has always been my favorite. I've been to so many BBQ restaurants from Memphis to st Louis, well actually all around the country. But I always come back to whole hog.
The water was awesome! The BBQ not so much!
Awesome BBQ. Baked beans are really good
I love to eat here and often get orders to go. I like to get food from here for guest from out of town and for holidays meals.
Some of the best BBQ I've ever had!
The food was great! I took 1 point off for my 2 staff members. They were NOT rude and discourteous. They were just not friendly. You...just kind of uninterested and stand-offish. Their affects were flat-lined, And they gave off an air of intrusion. I asked about their special written on the chalk board at the right of the counter and he was clueless and had to go and ask someone else and come back. I stood outside and waited for our food. Over all the food was WONDERFUL. Staff needs more customer service training.
Best BbQ ever
Love this place. Great food and great sauce!
Delicious food, great and friendly people, also rather inexpensive! Not much of a wait either! I'd suggest the beef brisket with sauces #2 or #5.
Bbq at its finest. Love the new southwest salad.
I typically love the food here, but had recently picked up my first to-go-order and was disappointed in the size of the sides. For 11 dollars, I had hoped to get more than 2 bites from my sides, but was assured that they're only so small …
Great food. Recommend to everyone
Great BBQ and diverse sauces to fit every palate. Sides are simple and delicious.
It was ok I have had better BBQ
My food was cold and I dined in.
This Is NOT BBQ!!!!! I ordered a Smoke Chicken Cesar Salad - what I got was a Cesar Salad with well seasoned baked chicken. The ribs (although soft) had NO SMOKE Smell nor Flavor. To be honest, I've had crock-pot ribs that had more smoke flavor than what I just had. And let's not talk about the "No Smoke Ring" Smokeless Flavor brisket. I should have known better when I walked in and didn't smell no evidence of smoke.
Incredible BBQ here! The meat itself is top notch and truly doesn't need much sauce, but they have 6 great sauces to work with too! Large portions and award winning is hard to beat. Definitely suggest this place for a casual (and a little messy) meal!
Little Rock location is dated and could be cleaned. Plate pictured was almost $17.00, the burnt ends tasted like pot roast.
The food was amazing only thing is they close so early on the weekends.
Always good food!
Great food...
Sauces were great! All 6! I was disappointed in the meats. I had the Hog platter(2meats & 3 ribs + 2 sides). I had the brisket & pulled pork. They were cold & quite dry, and in my opinion, over cooked. Maybe my timing was bad, so I will definitely try them again.
Great pull pork bar b q need to try it.I will be going back soon...
Great local spot for delicious BBQ.
Best bbq in the county
After all these years, Whole Hog on Cantrell at Riverdale is still the best, most reliable, barbecue around. Solid offerings and great sauce choices. The cheesy corn I don't remember but dang it's awesome!
Excellent food, the sides vary in consistency. Sometimes beans are running sometimes thick. The potato salad is wonderful and you can't go wrong on any of the meats. Aged decor pulls the rating off a five star.
Award winning BBQ and the best potato salad in all the land.
Really good food. The diner has a bit of a cafeteria feel. Large portions, and super tasty!
The food is good, slightly overpriced, but worth it. It's their online ordering that needs work. I work relatively close to this location. I did an online order to grab and go in a hurry in order to get back to the office. I arrived at Whole Hog to see the line almost out of the door. They have a separate window for catering, pick ups and also a kiosk to order to avoid standing in line. I stood at that window for 10 mins and not one single employee helped me. There was a man sitting in the office just 6 feet from me, completely ignoring my polite "excuse me". I could see my food sitting there, I had already paid online so I couldn't understand why someone couldn't just hand me the bag. I eventually peeked over to the order window and was advised I would have to get in line to pick up the order, which baffled me as this was an online order to go. That completely defeats the purpose of this feature AND the pick up window. Needless to say, I got back to work (1 mile away) with a cold chicken sandwich topped with a soggy bun. I recommend the food as long as you're dining inside. However, I will never order online, call in an order or have them cater.
Award winning taste and local flavor. This is a family favorite. Best brisket and potato salad in my opinion, in the state.
First time to visit at this location. The Branch office was treated for Administrator's Day, by my new boss. Had the southwest
This place has about a bajillion awards and they totally deserve them all. The meat is cooked perfectly and they let you put your own choice of 6 different sauces on your meal. The potato salad, which I am usually very picky about, was excellent. The service is friendly and professional and my husband and I ordered their Ultimate Platter to split and couldn’t finish it all.
The food is still pretty good at Whole Hog however we were shocked absolutely flabbergasted when we ordered our food. What used to cost less than $20 easy on this trip cost us around $32 and some change. I mean I understand raising your prices at a little bit here and there you know but come on that's ridiculous. they stopped offering a jumbo beef brisket sandwich like I used to get and your only option is to get a regular sized beef brisket sandwich. I ordered the beef brisket plate and my girlfriend ordered a pulled pork plate. Both plates come with chips and a drink. so for two small sandwiches and two regular size bags of chips with two Iced Teas cost us over $30 freaking dollars. That's just stupid. The price increase just cost them a customer I won't be going back anytime soon I promise you that.
I've been in for a lunch. It was terrible and didn't have any taste. I'm not going back. I'm going to GO back to only a chili and fritos bowl. This place is expensive.
Goodbye. Get there early before they run out of brisket and burnt ends. Good selection of sauces from mild and sweet to hot and sassy! Very friendly staff and a great atmosphere.
One of my favorite spots
Great barbecue here, try the platter for anyone really hungry.
Solid BBQ choice with good prices, service, and food. Definitely would recommend for quick and easy lunch or a family dinner option.
Meats have always been good at Whole Hog. Sides are just very average at best.
disappointing. The bbq pork and chicken was fine. but the beans had some funky meat in it, that I think was going bad. the brownie tasted like freezer burned on one side and strange taste like smoke. Not sure what's happening here, as they have had great food in the past. Doesn't seem to be as clean as it used to be. Sure hope the manager reads these reviews.
Great bbq. Burnt ends were great
Damn good ribs I wish they were little not that they're expensive but
Great Barbeque place
Great little place to eat
Great food, pleasant, helpful employees. Wanted bbq, and this didn't disappoint !
The food absolutely delicious. I went there for dinner. The atmosphere is nice and casual. They have all the classics but i had chicken this time. The meat was flavorful and tender and marinated well. The sides are equally great. I had ordered cheesy corn which was fantastic. They had a party going on next door but it wasn't crazy crowded. Great place for some delicious bbq.
Wonderful food and service
Not impressed. Over rated.
This BBQ restaurant is heaven on earth for BBQ lovers! If you're looking for anything BBQ, this is the place to find it. Sarge is always such a gracious host! My wife is from Little Rock and her sister still lives there. The first place I want to go, when I visit is Whole Hog!!....
If you like BBQ, I would highly recommend the Whole Hog Cafe. My son and I had the ribs and wife had the brisket, we were all pleased with our meals. Friendly, down home atmosphere with plenty of room for our family and friends. We will make this a stop on our next visit to Little Rock.
Excellent food. Fair prices. Popular place.
If you want some great BBQ in Little Rock, go check this place out! I’m from TX and I was very pleased with this place! Hopefully, I will be back!
It's was ok... Meat was a little to dry for my taste buds.
Wonderful. A large amount of food with AWESOME prices.
Very happy to be the 499th review. This is the BEST of all the Whole Hog Cafe' in the state. everything here is better, bigger and faster than any other WHC I've been too, which is ALL of them.
Best pulled pork sandwitch! 6 different sauces so it's always to your taste. Huge portions and friendly staff, fast service perfect for lunch when you have to get back to work.
Delicious. Got the pulled pork platter. Loved trying the six different BBQ sauces.
Ordered the pulled pork plate and the pork was smoked to perfection. It was moist, tender and absolutely delicious. Of course I always have to get the potato salad. No one has potato salad like Whole Hog. Both make for a meal for a queen.
I had the brisket meal. The food was great and tasty.
Really good food. Had a Garden Salad with Chicken on it and it was awesome. Only thing is the service was slow. Good food overall though
Great food and fast service
Great BBQ! Very good value for the money. The restaurant itself could use a little updating though...
Very good brisket & sausage. Get choice of 6 different sauces at the table. All are good.
Loved the choices of sauce #5 being our favorite. Had better meat. Didn't care for the cashier at all but the bus guy was fabulous with our daughter. From Indiana if ever in the area it is worth the trip.
On my list of Top 5 All Time Restaurants. Must visit here any time I'm in the state. There's nothing like it in Minnesota where I live!
Wow..! Good food and tasty, best bbq I have ever eaten and plenty to eat. You won't go away hungry.
All I really want in life is to eat pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans and potato salad. When I worked at Alltel we would go here for lunch probably twice a week on average. When I moved back to Arkansas this was the first place I wanted to go. It's just like how I remembered it. The food is delicious and the trophy wall keeps growing, presumably because they keep bringing pulled pork to events. They have 6 sauces which are all tasty, but I like to go back and forth between the number 3 and the number 6. The baked beans sometimes have little bits of pulled pork or sausage in it, which probably means that the reason the beans are so good is because they're cooked in bits of pulled pork and sausage. The kids love it too; my son gets the kids nachos with pulled pork and it's bigger than my plate! My daughter just orders pulled pork and potato salad.
Brisket was amazing, but the sides were so so.
Insanely good
THE BURNT ENDS WERE AMAZING. I eat what some might consider an unhealthy amount of barbecue and this place is 100% in my top five ever. The burnt ends, as mentioned, were phenomenal. The ribs were delightful. The pulled pork finished third, but only because one and two were ringers. I also liked the varieties of sauces at each table, six of them to be exact.
Great food, huge amounts
Pulled pork was flavorful but slightly dry. Beef brisket was DRY. Cheesy corn and Cole slaw were good.
Worst bbq ever
Although the food is decent. It's pretty expensive for what you get. However, this place has good service and fresh food if you don't mind the price.
Great food great service!
Trying the different sauces is always fun. It's a comfortable local place.
The awards say it all!
Beef brisket was excellent, very moist and not overwhelmingly smoky. Slaw was good, crunchy. Potato salad is fantastic (like a baked potato salad, sour cream and butter instead of mayo or mustard). Pulled pork and ribs are always great. Sausage gets beat out by the other meats--kinda bland and dry. Friendly staff, good selection of draft beers and I love the frosted glass pitchers. This place is perfect for quick lunch.
Good food. Last few times ordering in though have been less than satisfactory.
The food was ok. Being from Texas I definitely have high expectations for BBQ and to me this didn’t live up to the hype! Though the staff was nice and friendly, they definitely make me want to give it another chance if we come back to LR.
The place is great I do love coming here but it seems I'm out of luck a bbq place that does not have brisket or smoked sausage during dinner business hours disappointing enough to not even order anything else on the menu and leave. Now if they happen to those two selections they are pretty good the sauce is what makes it too here.
Staff is always friendly, and very helpful when in need of advice on selections. I usually order takeout, but have also eaten in. Today was a takeout day. While I waited I was offered a free drink, always appreciated! Bathrooms we're clean and smelled fresh. Food was correct, hot, and packaged well for transportation. The pulled chicken is amazing! I'm not a sausage person, but this stuff I come back for time and again. Always a favorite of friends and family visiting Little Rock, and we gladly make the hour trip to bring this stuff home!
We got food to take out. It was good and the person taking our order made sure we had everything we needed, including paper plates, utensils, and napkins.
I wasn't a fan of the ribs but the pulled pork & bbq sauce was awesome. Doesnt compare to TX BBQ,but pretty dang good.
Friendly people but my baked potatoe was burnt and inedible I hate sending food back so I didn't very disappointed.
This is the second time that I have been to this place and ended up dissatisfied. The first time I was ill. I suspected it was my barbecue. It was confirmed when a friend ate my leftovers and became sick. That was around 5 years ago. I visited recently, and the barbecue on my sandwich tasted old. It was three of us lunching. One person took her food back, for different reasons(I didn't bother to) which had the same meat. They remade her food and the same meat had a different color... Like it was fresh, not dark with that reheated look and taste to it. I keep hearing good things about this place, so maybe one day I will try them and they will be on point. But until then I will stick to 3 stars. The staff was nice, and the food was fast and hot... But let's work on the fresh.
The food and the service was great. Best barbecue I've had in a restaurant.
Before you decide to never go again, think about several things. How many restaurants are in this area? The answer might surprise you. With that many or few restaurants, places can charge more. I went in January 2019 and enjoyed a late dinner. This is a chain in Arkansas. Excluding the other Whole Hog Cafes in Little Rock, it is one I prefer to visit. I ate on a Wednesday night after being at the Main Library downtown. Whole Hog Cafe closes at 8 pm. That is too close for me. I ordered a barbecue beef brisket sandwich without coleslaw, a side of potato salad, a brownie, and soft drink. Everything was great except the price. I knew that before we arrived. They have seven different types of barbecue sauce. You must ask for the most spicy sauce at the register. I play Pokémon GO. In front of the restaurant is a PokéGym. If you enjoy the Gym while there, please turn your volume down.
That really is some award winning bbq. And that potato salad is so creamy and delicious. You guys deserve 10 stars.
Excellent barbecue with 6 different sauce options. Pulled pork is awesome. I highly recommend the potato salad which has a baked potato flavor. Salad and stuffed potatoes are also gpod options.
Food was alright, but they don't know what ingredients are in it. I don't expect them to know the whole recipe, but I think it's good to know if something has eggs or nuts in it, instead of just shrugging and saying "I don't know."
It was ok, but not near as good as the one in Fayetteville.
Very good barbecue... very similar to carolina barbecue. And the potato salad is particularly delicious.
Food could be Hot when u get it, not lukewarm, lots of burn pieces in there as well, but food is good,
Had the 4 ribs and side of beef brisket with baked beans and coke slaw. Ribs were outstanding, no sauce needed. Brisket was good, but I added sauce (there's 6 to choose from, all delicious). Cole slaw was s little more bitter than I prefer …
Great food. Carry out today.
Food was good. I'd say average maybe better. The meat is great the sides could be better. Coleslaw had no flavor but it wasn't bad.
Found this place on a long trip, took a chance on it and was delighted. It such a great value. I will definitely be back.
It had been many years since I ate at this location. Ho hum, awesome taste, great service, clean restaurant. All as usual. You should expect very great tasting smoke flavor, smiling service and plenty place to sit and eat in a clean restaurant.
Definitely not to miss if you love BBQ. The trophies in the window are there for a good reason!
I personally cannot add to the reviews of others. Simply Consistent. Very good pricing, and plenty of choices.
I have always loved Whole Hog, but I cannot abide with cold food. I got my items and my uncle and cousin's items to go but my mom ordered hers to dine in so we sat there and ate; all of our food was cold. Not sure if I will visit this location again, but I still love whole hog.
The food is great. The special of the day was burnt ends. Be prepared they serve naked burnt ends. I pull the fat cap off before I prepare my burnt ends and carmelize them in the sauce I make from the drippings. They serve 5 different sauces which probably explains the naked ends. On the upside the B.E. tips were tender, juicy, and worth the money.
Delicious the whole place smelled like bbq in the best way definitely worth a visit.
The food here is phenomenal. The dining room is a little warm but quaint.
Great pulled pork, delicious burnt ends and yummy potato salad.
Brisket sandwich was very good with the #3 sauce. Someone had said earlier that the potato salad was great. They were right! I tend to like barbecue that has more of a smokey flavor. Here, it's pretty mild.
