MO has been my favorite coffee shop since I was a Harding student myself, and I still love to go hang out there and sip a Woodsman or a Black Bear. Their homemade chocolate chip cookies are not to be missed, and the curry chicken salad is sublime. Try the featured roast with one of their house-specialty latte flavors, and if you're feeling snacky, get a side of hummus.
There aren't enough good things to say about this coffee shop. As a Searcy native, I frequented this place all through high school and afterward to study, hang out and meet friends. The vibe is cozy and welcoming and the quality of the coffee is unmatched. My favorite drink is the Iced Fred or Mr Blonde. I live in Chicago now and I miss this place so much! It's a real gem!
Great soy latte and the maple bacon scone was awesomeness!
I've been going to MO for two years and I love their coffee.I got a cozy chicken sandwich last week though, and it had a spot of mold.I picked it off like it was NBD but I paid almost 7$ for a moldy sandwich.Guess I should just stick to coffee.
Good coffee
Great place for a short break.
Breakfast this morning was too good not to share about. A couple of friends were talking about making coffee the other night. I inserted that I know nothing about coffee, because it is too bitter for me. All I know is that I enjoy a caramel macchiato from Starbucks is the furthest in the coffee realm I’ve ever gone. Then I learned about light roast. Alex, a guy at my church who also works at @kibomidnightoil (MO), was talking about different things and combinations offered at MO and offered to help me find something I might like. So, this morning I woke up, headed over to pay him a visit and experience something new. He suggested a Mr. Blonde or Black Bear, but as I was reading the menu waiting on him I found the Woodsman (black walnut, maple, cinnamon, and [I think] macadamia something...). It looked interesting, and then Alex told me it was his favorite. Barista’s choice! So I took it! It’s a very nice blend of flavors. Paired it with a Woodsman waffle for a different breakfast than normal, and it is absolutely delicious! ———————— I did not visit MO as a student often, but now that I’m back will be trying new drinks and returning on a more regular basis.
Pleasant friendly environment. Outside seating for when it's not too hot to endure the humidity.
The customers weren't so welcoming but the workers are the friendliest around.
I love this place and their atmosphere. If you want a place to meet someone or to study or write, this is the place to go.
One of the best coffee shops I have ever been to!
Great atmosphere. They even had a Whoke 30-compliant muffin. Despite there being tons of people there, I did not feel like the noise level was prohibitive. We will definitely go back.
Best hot cocoa I have ever had!!!! Loved it!!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Great local coffee spot in Searcy. I had the "Black Bear" with an extra shot and iced, it was amazing. This place has a cool inside atmosphere and great outside seating.
Friendly staff, phenomenal coffee, amazing desserts, great atmosphere indoors and outside!
Best coffee in town.
You just sort of end up here and end up seeing every single person in Searcy simultaneously. I didn't think so many people could fit into a refurbished house like that but the Lord works in mysterious ways. The coffee is amazing but the guy who served it to me doesn't seem to have a name and his face was glitching in and out. Nothing to be disturbed by. Great ambience
Such a nice cozy place to drink coffee & visit with friends & family. The drinks were great!
Great coffee. Comfortable atmosphere.
Great coffee and service! Good atmosphere!
Located just off the campus of Harding University lies Midnight Oil, a top-notch business and most likely the best coffee shop within a 100-mile radius. The location offers cozy seating, consisting of couches, booths, barstools, chairs, and an outdoor deck. The extensive menu provides a variety of beverages and eats for great value, and the staff is always incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Midnight Oil is always busy, and for good reason: it's the number one hangout spot for Harding students looking to study or just to meet up. The coffee itself is great, and baristas are masters at their respective art. 10/10, would recommend--a Searcy must-visit.
Great environment for small group discussions and quiet reading with a nice beverage.
Great coffee spot! Best place in town.
Great coffee shop right next to Harding University. The espresso drinks are excellent and they offer several methods of coffee preparation. I've had a few food items that were excellent as well. The staff is friendly. Plenty of parking. Pretty crowded inside because of popularity. Has indoor and outdoor seating. There is a small private meeting room with a conference table.
Great coffee, friendly staff. Easy to get in and get out. I recommend the Mr. Blonde hot or frozen is delicious!
Very cosy, little coffee shop. Kinda noisy inside due to the lack of space, but the back porch is a nice place to sit and visit. There is also a small conference room that can be reserved.
Good coffee, can get crowded on certain days and times since it's near the university, not their fault. Fairly friendly, expected price for good coffee.
Great
Perfect coffee shop with wonderful beverages and comfortable seating. Add a homey building and the scene is set.
Great service and food but a little pricey
Best local coffeeshop around. Cozy atmosphere and friendly baristas with great drinks. Their lunch fare is a little known local treat.
It's ok. Just can't compete with Starbucks.
Great place!
Great service, great people and a classic Coffee House right on the edge of Harding University's campus. Had a black walnut latte that was incredible. All of their coffee is top-notch. Nice place to sit for a spell.
It has a very local vibe with friendly staff and amazing coffee
A hometown classic place. However not very inviting. Limited, crowded seating makes for a stuffy environment. I always feel very insecure and underqualified to be present inside, and feel like my knowledge of coffee is severely lacking placing me at a disadvantage to order. Their chai lattes are made with powder and often far too much making them thick and hard to swallow and I rarely escape without swallowing a giant chunk of undissolved mix. Their flavor options however are phenominal and the staff is very friendly. They have lunch menu options and many different vareity of items for the choosing. Great place :)
A great place to get a consistently cup of coffee.
S Delicious coffee. Good service
Nice little coffee shop. I've only been in there once, but it had quick and friendly service. Plus, the coffee was excellent!
Love hanging out at MO!
Good coffee. Very clean. Nice people!
Best coffee in Searcy!!
Best coffee ever! Beats Starbucks hands down...
Wonderful "discovery" in Searcy! Great latte!
Great place if you like hanging out with self absorbed college kids. Also great if you like good cheap food.
Great coffee, cozy space, and the best staff!
Great vibe. Friendly baristas.
I love the coffee but during the semester it can often be a nightmare to find a chill space to study there. It's often very crowded
This is one of the quintessential stops in Searcy. The decor and style inside are so cozy, perfect for studying or a date or a fun time out with friends. The food is really good, we tried The Untitled sandwich with roasted chicken and avocado on the multigrain bread. It was really delicious! The kids tried the peanut butter and jelly...I even stole a few bites when they weren't looking. My husband tried The Cuban sandwich, with ham and cheese. It was all fabulous, no complaints. The staff is very friendly, the bathrooms are clean, the outside seating area is relaxing as well. We loaded up on several bags of fresh coffee for only $10 a piece, which was totally worth it. Definitely recommend!
Good house lattes and Arkansas blends. They also serve these little cheese biscuits with ham that are worth trying. EXTREMELY busy while school is in session, so not a great place to unwind if you like being alone in a coffee shop, but it's nice and quiet during the summer.
Best coffee in Searcy, hands down.
Me and hubby go there and it the best coffee we have
Best coffee shop ever!
It's a coffeehouse, cheek-by-jowl with a college campus. It's great. Real coffee, not that ****bucks franchise psuedo-chic crappola. Real coffee ( did I mention that?), real people, real atmosphere. I've had coffee in 17 countries. Their's may not be Yauco Select, but it's a dam good honest cup at a dam good price.
Definitely a wonderful coffee shop. They are part of the third wave coffee movement. I just got mine to go, but their sitting space is very warm and inviting. The staff there is awesome and I loved talking about coffee with them.
Good vibe.
Very pleasant. A good place to 'chill', sit back and enjoy very reasonably priced coffee with something sweet if desired. Thanks.
Their Chia tea Latte is gold! Love their little conference room. Perfect for the hubs and I to get a quite out of the office to dream.
It's great as long as you can wait longer than 15-20 minutes to get a sandwich. The sandwiches taste very fresh and good but this is not a recommended place for a quick lunch. I have yet to be able to go in, order and be out within an hour. BUT, it's a fun atmosphere and Great place to hang out!
Great atmosphere, great people, great coffee.
Very nice place and people!!
Due to the lack of competition Midnight Oil is probably the only place close by that you can actually get a good cup of coffee. Starbucks does not count because burnt coffee is not actually good coffee and as someone that is strictly interested how you extract the best flavor out of a coffee bean and not fancy frothy coffee drinks this is the cream that rises to the top. With that said I have been to better coffee shops but this is definitely your best bet for good coffee in Searcy. Cold Brew on Nitro and faster service would help get that 5th star.
Great latte, and I picked some up to take home!
great coffee
Love that you can buy whole bean coffee from different roasters. They rotate out which is nice if you like to try different coffees without having to pay shipping costs online! I do wish they had more dessert offerings in the case!
Excellent coffee, delicious desserts, and an assortment of lunch options! If you are looking for a great place to study, visit with friends, or just warm up with a great latte, this is the place for you! A must-stop in Searcy, Arkansas!
Hands down the best coffee in the area. Great environment for hanging out with friends, enjoying a nice book, or getting some studying done. Can often be a bit loud due to its popularity and small size. Usually not overwhelming, but fosters a lively atmosphere. MO is located right on the edge of the Harding University campus, so expect lots of college students during the school year. You'll find many locals stopping by in the mornings and for lunch, especially.
Love Midnight Oil!!! Great drinks and great service!!
Awesome coffee, great service
Good coffee, excellent service!
Excellent coffee, wide variety of drinks, food during lunch and desserts all the time.
Cozy atmosphere with an awesome patio and stage. Generally the best coffee in Searcy.
Morning Coffee - such a nice place. One can feel like they are at home even though this is a college kid's hangout. I expect to spend many a day and many a dollar at this location.
Quaint college coffee shop
Quaint and quirky. Everything you’d want in a coffee shop, though often a little too busy for my tastes.
Midnight Oil is a staple of the Harding University experience. There's nothing else like it in town for atmosphere, convenience, and good, solid coffee.
Great iced coffee.
The folks are always friendly and pleasant. The coffee is great and well-sourced. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. I've had many casual meetings and planning sessions here and they are always accommodating.
How we loved having coffees here everyday we’re in town! Very charming, very friendly staff, a covey if locals, just the right place to start the day off.
Great service, great atmosphere. Am new here, this already favorite place for coffee, fellowship
Wonderfully warm and inviting. Plenty of comfortable & comfy seating. Great coffee with great service.
My brother lives in Judsonia and I live in West Monroe La. Each visit for me to see my brother includes an essential visit to the famous Midnight Oil Coffee shop for a Latte and whatever cookie is the special of the day. Just great.
Love this place! Quaint, cozy, and lots of atheistic charm. Exceptional coffee & cheese cake. Great place for meetings. Even better to kick back after a hard day. FREE WI-FI
This is a fabulous coffee and pastry shop. It has a great mission, in supporting African humanity efforts. When you are in Searcy, stop by and enjoy something from Midnight Oil.
I LOVE this place! Their coffee is SO GOOD! I definitively encourage you to visit MO!
One of the iconic features of Searcy, Arkansas is this small but cozy coffee shop next to Harding University's campus. It has a slightly hipster atmosphere with good music and even better coffee. Very popular with the college community as a place to study and hang out with friends. There is not a bad coffee or tea option on the menu and the food and dessert served here is good too. Outdoor seating is nice for a fall afternoon. Highly recommended.
Best coffee around, best coffee in town, best coffee hands down
Ask about reserving their meeting room. I had a lot of meetings with a non profit team I was part of during my college years.
Delicious. GO. Well priced!!
The coffee was absolutely fantastic! The line wasn't long and there was no pressure on ordering. The staff was helpful not to mention the place itself is beautiful!
It isn't a trip home to Searcy without a visit to MO.
Amazing atmosphere with good smells and Coffee Shop music, excellent locally roasted coffees and friendly faces. You can get a small cup of drip coffee for a dollar 40 if you are on a budget and the lattes are cheaper than most other coffee shops. This is a Redemptive business that benefits The growers of the coffee beans in other countries. They have a lovely deck and outdoor seating area under the shade trees and they have just put in a new stage so that they can feature more local music and entertainment opportunities.
The last time I was at midnight oil was in the 90s & coffeehouse life was everything. I'm glad to see that yall are still going strong.
Best Coffee House in Searcy, Arkansas! Great place to Socialize, Study and They have live music outside. Charity Giving and Great Family Atmosphere!
A Harding staple.
Good food
I love all of the employees!
Awesome. Accidently found it. Super coffee. They have other stuff and free wifi too
Midnight Oil is awesome and its a perfect placr to hangout. Also you might meet an awesome person or two.
The Central Perk of Central Ark. … A gem in a town full of chains. Be prepared for perhaps the best beverage you've ever had. They take their coffee seriously here, and it shows. The décor/vibe is hip, yet very comfortable and inviting. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Everything they do/make is excellent and beautiful. I'm not sure how they do it. And, I'm not sure how any other coffee place survives in this market with this place around. I recommend without any reservation.
Great place, quiet. The people there are amazing. The drinks are also fantastic!!!
Good chicken wrap sandwichs and soup and grilled cheese with hot chocolate and hot apple cider are all great.
Great place! Atmosphere, selections, & staff, are all superb. This is what a coffeehouse should be.
The best
I have been a regular Midnight Oil customer for years. If I still lived in the Searcy area I would go to "MO" two to three times a week. Anyone who is lucky enough to make the cut for a MO employee knows customers by name and are always courteous, attentive to detail, and timely. In 2013 Midnight Oil had a happy hour that ran from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. I happened to work a night shift that started at 6 p.m. and ran untill 6 a.m. I would get two grande drinks right before work for about $6 and needless to say; my night shifts were always fun :)
