I'm a total black coffee snob, and this place was awful. The pour-over was thin with a pathetic mouthfeel and it tasted like whiskey (no fault of the beans I imagine). Press was the only place near Phoenix I could find that really took care of me and my elitist affliction (their pour-overs and even their drip was great).

This was the first cafe I visited on my trip to Phoenix and I'm very happy with that decision! The barista was so kind and personable. The space is cute and cozy. Coffee wasn't anything fancy but the ambience and vibes of the place/people are truly why you should visit. Plenty of places to plug in and great wifi!

This place was amazing! The hot chocolate was divine, and the atmosphere was comfy, chill, and relaxing. Combined with Reggae music, art from local artists, and the scent of coffee we're the small things like.paper cranes, turtles, cacti and other decorations, really making this shop feel like home.

The location is a bit hidden among the houses in the downtown area bit has good signage. Parking is not easy but expected for the area. When we walked in the enterence the seating area blocks the coffee bar. I am seeing this as a trend with businesses and I am not a fan. The server was very nice and energetic as well as knowledgeable. He suggested we get a pour over. The location had a few options and we each got different blends along with a muffin. The muffin was nice but nothing too special. The coffee however was watered down. I am a novice with preparing pour over at home but I know measerument is key. The server was not measuring the water. The flavor notes we could tell seemed nice but it was too diluted. I am willing to give them another chance but I was disappointed.

Met my son in law for the first time there. Saturday morning 8am. A mutual location for us both, he from the West side me from the East. Parking not a problem. Had the best café brève I had since leaving Seattle 18yrs ago and he said his latte was perfect. Easy atmosphere, we talked for about 2 hours, pastry looked good and the patrons were friendly. The house itself is just right, nothing artificial, w indoor and outdoor sitting. The first of its kind I've found. I believe I'll make a habit of the joint.

Great personable staff able to make excellent recommendations! This is also seriously one of the best iced chai lattes I’ve ever had. You can order it spicy or sweet—I went with a mix and it’s delicious iced. (You can also get it with a variety of milk options; the barista said almond is quite good. I went with dairy today though for a straight comparison to how I make it at home.) Lots of tables and work spaces with plenty of outlets and two rooms to choose from. There is also free WiFi available. The front room is light and bright. The back room by the order counter still has plenty of natural light, but doesn’t have as many windows and has less seating (but does boast a couch!). Additional convo spot with armchairs is available in the front room, plus a few extra padded cafe chairs which can be pulled out for use. Lots of great details with warm wood trim and they’ve kept much of the character and charm of the old house by keeping the lovely wood built-in from the original dining/living room. Pastries are made in-house and while there was a delicious burst of lemon flavor in my lemon poppy seed bread, it was a bit dry at 3:30pm. I’m not sure how they could best keep it moist? Perhaps only have a few display slices and keep the rest stored?

I was told the owner wanted her patrons to feel at home here and in that regard she nailed it. She also nailed it with the coffee and teas. Great selection and flavors to choose from. I’ve always been a fan of coffee shops showcasing local artists and things for sale and they do that here to. Today was my fourth trip and each time it’s been the same barista. He knows his craft well and is super friendly. Hope you enjoy your visit as much as I have. Little late to show the latte art but if you’re a fan they’ll oblige.

Visited Songbird today for the first time, honestly one of the calmest coziest coffee shops ever! Enjoyed a latte which was very smooth and foamy. Husband indulged in a cappuccino which was perfect! The most inviting and upbeat coffee shop I have ever been to. Tucked away on a relatively quiet street, the place is cozy and chill, and a perfect place to get together with friends or just study for hours on end. The music selection is on point, and Brett the Barista has an infectiously optimistic attitude that will lift your spirits no matter what kind of a day you’ve been having. (And the coffee’s good too—my vanilla latte was delightfully frothy and perfectly sweetened.) All in all, my new favorite place in Phoenix.

I've been coming here for three years and never had a bad experience. This coffee shop has consistently, always, had the nicest staff working that genuinely care about their work and the people they serve. The coffee selection is great. Staff will educate you and help you make decisions. There is an abundance of power outlets for people that like to work from coffee shops. I didn't test the Internet during peak hours, but in the morning it was quite zippy for me! I love coming here, I hope it sticks around and continues to give downtown PHX the extra charm.

Probably going to be my regular coffee shop. The staff is spectacular. I went to the shop a week ago, ordered an extra strong (brewed longer) Thai tea with almond milk. Yesterday, the same staff member remembered my order to the T, and asked how my partner, who was with me on the last visit, was doing. The level of consideration and customer service at Songbird is a rare find. The food and drinks are delicious, and the whole atmosphere is friendly and light. If you want a great coffee house experience, go to Songbird. You'll probably see me there.

Song Bird is a really neat coffee house with a whole lot of character. I think that it is a place that should be visited at least once. It is really cool how this old home has been renovated into a coffee shop featuring local artist artwork. Aside from it's looks, they also serve up some great coffee and the staff is just as great. If you're looking for a place to get some joe and take a quick load off then the benches out front and the small seating area inside will be cozy and fun. But if you're looking to really hunker down and do some homework or maybe read a good book for a long while, you may seek out another coffee shop with more seating and cushy couches. But please don't let this minor detail deter you, it may just be my personal opinion. This is still a fantastic coffee shop, hence the 5/5.

This shop has the perfect combination of indoor/outdoor space for hanging out, striking up a conversation, or being super productive (I wouldn't know anything about this, but I saw some furrowed brows hunched over laptops so I assume they were getting stuff done). The barista working was fun and engaging, the cappuccino was quite good, and the pastries were delicious. I'll be returning again and I would recommend this shop to anyone visiting the downtown Phoenix area.

This place is cute, has excellent coffee, nice lighting, comfy seats, ample outlets, fast internet, and good volume for music (I also liked the music choices). I'd definitely come back here if I was back in Phoenix, particularly because it is so central. It'd be high on my list of places to get work done in town, and also up there for meeting people for coffee. The cappuccino itself was really quite good. Probably 8-10oz, it only comes in one size. The espresso had some strength in it's flavor which I particularly love. The milk quantity was just right, and it didn't overwhelm the espresso. The foam was excellent and the latte art was pretty too. My only complaint would be that the milk was not quite as rich as I would like; not sure if it is a quality issue or just the choice of brand they use.

Overall: I love Songbird a lot, and when I'm in the area it's one of my go-to spots. Good drinks, tasty pastries, and a chill hippie atmosphere. I do recommend! Food: They offer vegan pastries and other foods. Everything I've had has been fairly delicious. I personally love their chia seed pudding they make! I am thrilled by the fact they offer FTC Kombucha, if you don't know them, look them up. Family-owned tea/kombucha company in Tucson: so thank you Songbird for selling their goods! Drinks are good and many of their syrups are made in-house. The teas are delicious, so you won't be disappointed if you're not feeling coffee. Atmosphere: it's in a super cute, tiny house and there's parking on the street and in the back. When you can, steal the luxurious couch by the windows for the ultimate comfort with your coffee. They have a very eclectic and hippie atmosphere and even a porch swing outside for your cradling needs. Service: Never had a rude barista, but don't expect them to be Dutch Bros. They will serve you up all good things and happily help address any and all questions as well as recommend things if you're uncertain of what to get. Very chill staff, so if you don't like overly attentive staff you're in luck!

Great place close to the art district in Phoenix. Mix the spicy and sweet chia if you get a chance and wander around the buildings close by to check out the murals.

Sweet little place to come chill, out of the heat. Upbeat and friendly staff and a great crowd. Pastries and cookies are definitely going to come recommend, had the best peanutbutter cookie. Coffee is a must, I ordered a chi latte, he asked if I liked it spicy or sweet, or both, I replied both, probably the best one I've ever had. Damn good job. Most definitely recommend stopping in when you're in the area.
